World Tag Team Championship
Match
Jake Dominion & Crash vs The Syndicate © {Anselm & Win} Josephina Colbert: Our next match is scheduled for one fall and is for the World Tag Team Championships!!! Introducing first… The lights dim and flash-bulb strobe lights go off all over the arena as "Blood of Heroes" by Megadeath kicks in over the speakers. Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at a combined 507 pounds… Jake Dominion and Crrrash!! The cheering that started when their theme music starts up increases significantly when Jake Dominion and Crash step out onto the entrance stage. They stand there for a moment and pyro bursts up from either side of them, just far enough away that neither of them is actually in danger. Gold and purple sparks shoot towards the ceiling of the arena, and when the pyro is done, Crash and Dominion head down the ramp, making their way to the ring. Mark Perletta: Just listening to these fans, you can feel their excitement, as they want nothing more than for Jake Dominion and Crash to walk away with the World Tag Team Championships here tonight. Joey C: Excitement isn’t going to win these championships, but teamwork will. With that in mind, these fans are probably going to go home upset tonight. Mark Perletta: Well Crash and Dominion are walking down to the ring together, so that should be considered a good sign. Landon Savage: It’s certainly an indicator that they’re on the same page, and frankly I’m not surprised, based on all the “buddy buddy” stuff we’ve seen from them over the past month or two, but I’m doubting they’re going to be as cohesive in that ring together as the Syndicate. Once Jake Dominion and Crash get into the ring, they take corners on opposite sides of the ring, climbing to the middle turnbuckles and putting their hands into the air, getting a slight increase in the cheers from the already excited fans. Once the two men step back down to the mat, their theme song dims, as do the white flash-bulb strobe lights. Josephina Colbert: And their opponents… Immediately, the cheering turns into a low intensity booing ovation from all across the arena. Red spotlights shine down on the entrance stage and up through the entrance ramp. “The Mirror” by Dream Theater begins to play over the speakers. Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at 540 pounds… “The All Star” James Win… Gryffin Anselm… The Syndicate!! Out from the back walks James Win, wearing his gold ring tights, sunglasses, and his hair pulled back into a ponytail. About ten feet behind him is Gryffin Anselm, who is wearing black cargo pants and his signature red italic “D” tshirt, the sleeves cut off. He doesn’t acknowledge the fans as he heads down the ramp, but James Win appears to enjoy tormenting them. Landon Savage: That, right there, is indicative of why James Win and Gryffin Anselm make such a great tag team. They’re very similar, yet very different. James Win is flashy, brash, and high flying. Gryffin Anselm is intense, no non-sense, and brutally strong. Mark Perletta: That has been one of the key component to successful tag teams over the course of time, having two guys with complimenting styles. The same analysis could apply when talking about Jake Dominion and Crash, though, too. Joey C: Well if there’s one thing that Jake Dominion and Crash don’t have it’s the financial resources of Big Lou, which certainly makes a difference. Once they get to the bottom of the ramp, James Win heads for the stairs, making his entrance as grand as possible. Gryffin Anselm, on the other hand, hops right up onto the apron. When James Win gets onto the apron, he starts jaw jacking in the direction of Jake Dominion, who starts moving in Win’s direction. Gryffin calls out to the referee, who steps in front of Jake, keeping him back. Crash steps up, tapping Jake on the shoulder, getting him to move back a few steps, wanting to wait until the opening bell to get this match under way. Jake backs up, allowing Gryffin and Win to step into the ring. Landon Savage: Why am I not surprised that Jake Dominion doesn’t have common courtesy to allow the World Tag Team Champions to get into the ring without wanting to attack them? Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion has been waiting a while to get his chance to regain those belts, some might say he’s had to wait too long to get the rematch, and so I can’t say I blame him for being anxious. Joey C: At least Crash has a sense of honor and a little bit of patience. Maybe he can teach a little bit of that to the rude, hot-head Jake Dominion. As soon as Gryffin Anselm takes off his shirt and tosses it to the referee, he and James Win run across the ring and immediately drill Jake Dominion, backing him into the corner and dropping him to the mat. The opening bell rings as the match gets under way quickly, and as soon as he realizes what’s going on, Crash steps in and grabs Gryffin Anselm, spinning him around and nails him with a forearm shot to the face. After a second forearm shot, Crash takes Anselm by the arm and irish whips him across the ring. When he hits the ropes on the opposite side, Gryffin wraps his arms around the top rope, hooking at the elbow to stop his momentum. What he can’t avoid, however, is a running clothesline from Crash. The clothesline sends Anselm backwards over the top rope, but not all of him goes out of the ring. As he recoils and his lower body comes back into the ring, his upperbody twists the ropes up, and once he becomes vertical again, Gryffin finds himself tied up between the top rope and the middle rope. Mark Perletta: Crash having minimized Anselm for a moment, now he’s going after James Win, looking to help out Dominion. Landon Savage: This double team isn’t exactly fair. Mark Perletta: Oh, and the double team was fair when the Syndicate was in control? Taking James Win by the arm, Jake Dominion sends The All Star into the ropes. Crash runs in and levels Win with a clothesline a few steps after James rebounds off the ropes. Lifting James up off the mat, Crash sends James Win into the ropes with an irish whip, bouncing off only a few feet away from where Gryffin Anselm is tied up. On the return James Win is taken back down to the mat with a hook kick by Dominion. Mark Perletta: Almost a clothesline there from Dominion, only using his foot instead of his arm, showing great flexibility in the process. Joey C: Yeah, impressive, but it’s still illegal. That is, unless LEGACY is going to make a No Limits Tag Division Mark Perletta: It looks like you two are going to get your wish, as the referee is getting some order in there. Landon Savage: Yeah, and it’s about time. The referee steps in and yells at Crash and Dominion, admonishing them for the unnecessary double-teaming of James Win. Giving the ref’s argument some consideration, Crash leaves the ring. While this is going on, Gryffin Anselm gets himself free of the ropes, being helped by the impact from when James Win hit the ropes. Jake Dominion doesn’t notice that Gryffin is now free, and he stands waiting for James Win to get up off the mat to a completely vertical position, poised for his Superkick. Out of the corner of his eye Jake notices movement, and he turns just in time to see Gryffin charging at him, just before being lifted up off the mat and then slammed back down onto his back with Anselm’s famed Spear / Spinebuster combination. Landon Savage: Huge impact in that move by Gryffin Anselm, breaking out his Spear / Spinebuster combination he hasn’t used much here in LEGACY. Joey C: Jake Dominion should’ve been paying more attention to what’s going on right in front of him, not trying to go for his big move right away. The referee yells at Gryffin to get out of the ring, and for a moment Gryffin argues with him, and then he alerts the referee that Win has crawled over and is now going for the pin on Jake Dominion. Before he will count the attempt, the referee forces Gryffin to get out of the ring first. Realizing how serious the referee is, Anselm gets out onto the apron as quickly as possible. True to his word, the referee slides in and makes the count. One… Two… NO! Jake Dominion kicks out right after the hand hit for a second time and rolls James Win off of him. Starting to get up to his feet, James Win dives back down and sends a knee to the back of Jake Dominion, who had rolled over and started trying to get up off the mat. James gets to his feet as quickly as possible and starts stomping down on Jake. Sensing that he has weakened Dominion enough so far, The All Star lifts him up off the mat and hits an inverted atomic drop, then he backs up, hits the ropes, and comes back in with a flying clothesline that takes Dominion back down to the mat. Joey C: Dominion in trouble here early, and this could be a quick finish for the Syndicate. Mark Perletta: Well Crash still hasn’t gotten into the match legally yet, so it’s a bit premature to write them off, not to mention that Jake is a world class competitor, so you shouldn’t count him out of it just yet. Lifting Jake Dominion up off the mat, James Win locks him into a standing head scissors, wrapping his arms around Jake’s abdomen. The All Star starts to lift Jake up, but Dominion forces his legs back down to the mat, then lifts up, apparently going for a back body drop. Once he gets up to a vertical base, he grabs Win’s legs, not allowing him to flip all the way over, and Dominion whips James Win forward, hitting a spinebuster type maneuver, and the fans go wild. Jake drops down to a knee and catches a quick breather, looking at James Win, a smile on his face. Landon Savage: Look at Dominion, so smug and proud of himself. Mark Perletta: The fans don’t seem to have a problem with it. Joey C: He’d better keep in on the attack now he’s got an opportunity. Mark Perletta: Here he goes… Taking him by the head, Dominion lifts the All Star up off the mat, locking him into a front facelock. From there, Jake drives his knee into the nose of James Win repeatedly, knocking him down to the mat. Relentless, Jake picks him up to his feet again, then whips his leg up and over James’ head, driving it straight downwards onto the back of his opponent’s neck, sending Win crumpled down to the mat, getting a big ovation from the fans, excited by the kick. After flashing a smirk to his adoring fans, Jake lifts Win’s lifeless body up off the mat and then irish whips him into the corner where Crash is waiting on the outside. Before Dominion can even get there, Crash reaches over the top rope and uses his forearm to put Win into a choke. When Jake gets there, he steps in and kicks Win in the gut with a thrust kick. Mark Perletta: Nice targeting there by Dominion, doubling James Win over with that kick and zapping the energy from him. If Win had any energy reserve in him, it’s gone now. Landon Savage: Remember, it’s still early, Perletta. Grabbing Win around the waist, Dominion lifts Win up to the top rope, then climbs up after him. Stepping up onto the top rope, Jake locks Win’s head in under his arm, lifts him up, then takes him out of the corner and down into the middle of the ring with a superplex. Not wasting any time, Jake Dominion gets up off the mat and lays a kick into James’ ribs, then he heads over to the side of the ring, exiting out onto the apron. Moving as quickly as possible, Jake Dominion gets over to the corner and starts climbing up to the top. Before Jake can hit whatever move he was planning on using, Gryffin Anselm gets into the ring, grabs Win by the arm and drags him back to the Syndicate corner. Joey C: Brilliant move there by Gryffin Anselm, and this is going to make it much easier for James Win to be able to make the tag. Landon Savage: And that’s what a great tag team does, they make opportunities for themselves. Mark Perletta: Let’s see how they capitalize. Dominion gets down from the top rope, trying to get at Anselm. Angry at Anselm for coming into the ring illegally, the referee yells at Gryffin, but in doing so inadvertently stands in the way of Dominion getting at Anselm. By the time the referee finally moves, Anselm gets out onto the apron and James Win has returned to his feet, enough energy in him to reach over and tag Gryffin Anselm into the match. Mark Perletta: Now we get to see Dominion and Anselm square off, the two men with the biggest hatred for one another in this match, possibly in our entire organization. Joey C: Jake Dominion has always considered James Win a joke. He shouldn’t, but he does. The real reason Jake hates Gryffin is that he considers him to be a challenge, though he’s probably too proud to admit it. For a moment the two men circle the ring, but then they each head towards the center of the ring and lock up. Anselm gets the advantage first with the front headlock, wrenching it in tight. Jake Dominion tries to get Anselm’s hands off of him, but to no avail. Releasing his grip around Dominion’s neck, Gryffin grabs around Jake’s abdomen and turns the hold into a gutwrench suplex. After hitting the mat, Dominion rolls over and gets back up. Jake goes right back towards the center of the ring and the two once again lock up. Again Anselm gets the advantage, this time he locks in a side headlock, which he then turns it into a half-nelson, which he then uses to hit a backdrop suplex. Mark Perletta: Dominion maybe a bit too eager, and its costing him early on. Landon Savage: Well Jake wants revenge, whereas Gryffin just wants to prove himself and keep the belt. Anselm realizes this and he’s using Dominion’s frustration to his advantage. Getting in behind Jake Dominion, Anselm lifts his opponent up off the mat, grabs Dominion around the waist, lifts him up off the mat and hits Jake with a second belly to back backdrop suplex, planting him into the match hard. Grabbing Jake by the legs, Anselm lifts Dominion’s feet as high as possible with Jake still resting most of his weight onto his own shoulders. From there, Gryffin falls backwards, going for the slingshot attempt. Dominion’s feet hit the mat and he is propelled upwards towards the corner turnbuckles, but instead of hitting hard, Jake lands his feet onto the second turnbuckle, and then he jumps backwards, swinging around and dropping his leg across the back of Anselm’s neck as Gryffin tries to get up off the mat. Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion taking control of the match, Jake seeks to weaken Gryffin a bit as he lays in with a couple of kicks. Joey C: If he were smart, Dominion would realize he needs to make the tag, because right now he’s wasting too much time. As Jake Dominion heads towards the corner to make the tag in to Crash, James Win runs into the ring, sprints across, leaps into the air and nails a make-shift enzuigiri that drops Jake down to the mat, at least momentarily. Taking Jake by the leg, Win does his best to make sure that Dominion is unable to make the tag. Dominion rolls over onto his back and with his free leg sends a kick that nails Win in the head, forcing The All Star to release his grasp. Before Jake can tag in Crash, however, Gryffin Anselm moves in and drills Jake with a double axhandle that sends him back down to one knee. Taking Dominion by the arm, Gryffin Anselm sends Jake into the Syndicate corner just as James Win gets back out onto the apron. Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion in a bad place… Landon Savage: It’s not going to matter, Gryffin’s going to follow it up! A couple moments after Dominion hits the corner turnbuckle back first, Gryffin Anselm charges in to continue on the attack, but Jake Dominion has other ideas. Just before Gryffin gets there, Jake lifts his leg up and connects right with the face of Anselm, sending him down to the mat. James Win reaches in over the top rope to try to keep Jake in the corner, but Jake Dominion fires backwards with an elbow smash, drilling Win in the side of the head and nearly knocking him off the apron. Dazed, Jake Dominion stumbles across the ring, headed for his corner. Just before he gets there, though, Jake is grabbed around the ankle by Gryffin Anselm, who is still on the mat. Joey C: Anselm is doing whatever he can to keep Dominion from tagging in Crash… Mark Perletta: And Dominion’s almost there… Reaching out, Jake does everything he can to get to his corner and Crash, but Anselm does everything he can to keep him from doing that. Seeing that Jake Dominion is almost ready to make the tag, James Win ducks under the top rope and gets into the ring illegally, but before he can get there, before the referee even spots The All Star get into the ring, the referee signals Jake’s success as Crash becomes the legal man for his team in the match. As Crash gets into the ring, the fans go wild, but Crash doesn’t need to acknowledge it. He goes right after James Win, who has backed up a few steps after seeing Crash enter the match, but Crash clotheslines him down anyway. Turning around, Crash spots Gryffin Anselm getting up off the mat, and he runs over and clotheslines Gryffin, too. From there, Crash turns around and runs back and hits Win with a Lou Thesz Press, drilling The All Star repeatedly with mounted punches, driving up the intensity of the cheers from the fans all over the arena. Mark Perletta: The fans are loving this as Crash is going wild! Joey C: What the hell? Win’s not even the legal man in the match right now, Anselm is! Mark Perletta: And the referee’s letting him know that right now. As Crash gets up out of the mounted position, he stomps down onto James Win one last time. That extra moment remaining with his back turned to Gryffin might have been a bad idea. Before Crash turns around, Gryffin Anselm charges in, dives, and chop blocks the left leg of Crash, sending him down to the mat, clutching his leg. Slowly getting to his feet, Gryffin looks down at Crash, trying to gauge just how hurt he is. After circling Crash a bit, a grin forms on Gryffin’s face. Mark Perletta: Gryffin’s obviously proud of his work, but it was a cheap shot. Landon Savage: Well it’s Crash’s fault for not paying attention. Mark Perletta: This doesn’t look good for Crash & Dominion… Taking Crash by the leg, Gryffin pulls him towards the Syndicate corner, where he reaches over and tags in James Win. Holding Crash’s leg up, Anselm steps to the side and James Win climbs the turnbuckle, getting to the top rope, leaping off and hitting a hesitation dropkick right to the knee, causing Crash to scream out in pain. Anselm gets out onto the apron and James Win tags Gryffin right back into the match, and the two change places again. Upon getting back into the ring, Gryffin stomps down on Crash’s chest, keeping him on the mat, keeping him from fighting back too much. Taking him by the head, Anselm lifts Crash up off the mat, spins him over into a bodyslam position, then hangs him upside down in the corner in a tree of woe position. Backing up a few steps, Gryffin charges in and nails a shoulder block on Crash’s hurt leg, then he tags in The All Star. Mark Perletta: Quick tags here from Gryffin and Win, and they’re both attacking that leg methodically. Landon Savage: They’re playing to each of their strengths. James Win’s speed, Gryffin’s power, Crash is going to be seriously hurting when this match is over. Joey C: Win backing up… dropkick to the leg! Having done what he came in the ring to do, James Win reaches up and tags Gryffin back into the match. Once he’s back in the ring, Gryffin reaches down and grabs Crash by the arm, lifting him up into a completely horizontal position, the leg still hooked under the top turnbuckle. Backing up, Gryffin pulls Crash out of the corner, stretching him and putting more strain on his injured leg. Just as a smile forms on Gryffin’s face, Jake Dominion runs into the ring and dropkicks Anselm in the back, forcing him to let go of Crash. The referee tries to tell Dominion to leave the ring, but before he does, Jake unhooks Crash’s leg from the turnbuckle. Landon Savage: He at least bought Crash some time, giving him a chance to get out of that corner, which is what he needs to do if he wants any chance of winning this match. Mark Perletta: Crash really needs to tag back into Jake Dominion, though Jake looks to still be feeling the effects from earlier in this match Gryffin Anselm gets up off the mat after having been dropkicked and decides to tag James Win back into the match. As soon as The All Star gets into the ring, he grabs Crash by his hurt leg, twists over and locks him into a single-leg Boston Crab. Knowing that Crash is probably in a lot of pain from the submission, Jake Dominion starts a slow clap, trying to get the fans to rally around his tag team partner, which they do. Crash first makes it up onto his elbows, trying his hardest to get up off the mat and battle back. Crash inches halfway across the ring before James Win switches his feet positioning, which keeps Crash in his place. Realizing that he is going to have to escape the hold in the middle of the ring, Crash puts one of his fists down onto the mat, then slowly gets the other one underneath of him. Mark Perletta: Crash is battling hard, he might be able to get out of this. Landon Savage: Win looks like he’s got it locked in pretty well. Mark Perletta: Crash is battling… Joey C: Get in there, Gryffin! Mark Perletta: He’s pushing… it looks like he’s going to get out of this… Crash starts to bend at the elbow, and it looks like hope is lost, but suddenly he powers up one more time, sending The All Star falling forwards as he powers out of the submission hold. Win sees what’s going on and he tries to get up and stop Crash from making the tag, but by the time he gets to that side of the ring, Crash reaches up… and makes the tag. As Jake Dominion gets into the ring, the fans pop just as loudly as they did when Crash broke free of the submission moments earlier, and Dominion goes to work on Win. After three straight right hands, Dominion flattens Win with a step-in clothesline. The All Star gets right back to his feet, but Jake grabs him by the head, takes a short step forwards and PLANTS James Win’s head into the mat with a DDT. Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion and Crash are right back in this match! Joey C: It’s only a matter of time before Gryffin gets back into the ring, and then we’ll see who has the upperhand. Landon Savage: It doesn’t look like Jake wants to wait for that, as he’s eyeing Gryffin Anselm right now Taking James Win by the arm, Jake Dominion picks him up off the mat, steps in and irish whips The All Star hard chest first into the corner where Gryffin Anselm is waiting for a tag. Anselm looks over at Dominion, realizing that Jake WANTS Gryffin to make the tag in, so he obliges. As soon as Gryffin enters the ring, Jake runs in and nails him with a forearm shot to the face. Hooking Anselm’s head in under his arm, Jake Dominion takes Gryffin up and over his head with a fallaway vertical suplex. Not wasting any time, Dominion heads out onto the apron in the neutral corner. While Gryffin Anselm works his way up off the mat, Jake hops up to the top rope, and as soon as Anselm is back to a vertical base, Dominion leaps off and nails a single leg kick to the chest, sending Gryffin down to the mat. Mark Perletta: Dominion & Crash with all the momentum at this point in the match Joey C: It’s not going to last, it can’t last, the Syndicate are too good to be beaten by these guys, they’re not even a real team! They don’t even have a team name, and as Calgary Carl clearly pointed out, to be a team, you have to have a team name Dominion looks over and sees if Crash wants to get in the match, but Crash shakes his head “no” and then says something to Jake, which Jake seems to understand. Taking Gryffin by the arm, Dominion lifts him up off the mat and sends him into the corner where Crash is waiting. Crash chokes Gryffin while Dominion casually walks over. Once Jake gets there, he extends his leg upwards, putting the bottom of his boot across Anselm’s throat, choking him. The referee steps in and starts administering the five count, and Jake Dominion lets go right after the ref counts four. Crash then reaches into the ring and tags Jake’s hand and the two trade places. Crash lifts Gryffin out of the corner and up off the mat into a gorilla press, SLAMMING him down onto the mat. Mark Perletta: Crash getting some revenge for the damage done to his knee earlier on. Landon Savage: And now he tags Dominion back into the match, Dominion goes up to the top rope. Standing in the corner facing the center of the ring, Crash reaches his hands up and grabs Jake’s hands. A moment later, Jake leaps off the top rope, flipping over Crash, who pulls Jake forward as he takes a step towards Gryffin, using his arms to propel Dominion forward, increasing the amount of impact as Jake crashes down onto Anselm back first into an assisted senton splash. As soon as Jake hits the move, the crowd goes wild, clearly liking the move. Jake doesn’t even bother to get up off the mat, reaching over and hooking the leg, going for the pinfall attempt, the crowd chanting along with the referee… ONE! TWO!! NO!! Mark Perletta: At the last moment, Gryffin gets a shoulder up. Joey C: Jake Dominion looks upset, but he better get back into this and stop complaining if he wants those tag titles back. Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion stands back, waiting for Gryffin to get to his feet. Anselm’s up to his feet… Spinning around with a hidden roundhouse kick, Jake Dominion connects with the jaw of Gryffin Anselm, dropping him down to one knee. Suddenly Crash gets into the ring, running across and hitting James Win with a shoulder block, knocking The All Star off the apron. Jake Dominion waits as Gryffin tries to shake the cobwebs, then steps in as Anselm gets his knee off the mat. Dominion grabs Anselm, reaching down and hooking Anselm underneath the knee, looking for the Ice Breaker. Before he can get Gryffin completely locked in, though, Dominion is drilled in the back by Crash, who runs in hits an axhandle smash. Jake lets go of Anselm and tries to turn around to see what’s going on, but Crash grabs Dominion by the arm and hits a short-arm clothesline that takes Jake off his feet, silencing the previously excited crowd. Mark Perletta: What is going on here?! Landon Savage: I think you’re about to find out, Perletta Shaking the cobwebs completely loose, Gryffin gets up off the mat, smiling, looking at Dominion struggling to get up off the mat. Reaching down, Crash picks Dominion up, then immediately lifts him off the mat and puts him up onto Anselm’s shoulders. Not wasting any time, Anselm swings Dominion over and whips him down to the mat. DEVASTATOR! DEVASTATOR! Gryffin Anselm drops down to his knees, hooking Dominion’s leg and going for the pinfall, the stunned fans listening on in silence as the referee makes the count. One… Two… Three. Getting up to his knees, the referee calls for the bell. Josephina Colbert: The winners of this match… and STILL World Tag Team Champions… Gryffin Anselm and James Win… The Syndicate!!! Mark Perletta: I can’t believe my eyes… Landon Savage: Isn’t this great!! The camera cuts to the top of the ramp and we see Big Lou walk out through the curtain, making his way down to the ring. Following him are his personal security crew, Tino and Giovani. The trio get into the ring and stand there while Gryffin Anselm picks up Jake Dominion, lifts him up off the mat, putting him on his shoulders and then DRIVING him back down to the mat with the Devastator. James Win gets back into the ring, holding down the ropes for Big Lou and the security members in a sign of respect, then enters the ring himself, a huge grin on his face. Win walks over and takes the World Tag Team Titles from the time keeper and hands one of the belts to Gryffin, putting the other around his waist. Big Lou first walks over and hands a wad of cash to the referee, then he moves over and looks down at Jake Dominion, checking to make sure he’s out cold. He then looks up at Crash, a small smile forming on his face. Mark Perletta: So the referee was in on this too? I’m speechless here… Joey C: Just sit back and watch, then. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us. Big Lou signals to Giovanni, who reaches his his suit coat, producing a black tshirt which he throws over to Gryffin, who smirks and then walks over and hands Crash. Crash unfolds it and puts it over his head, and for the first time standing in the ring we see Crash wearing the same shirt Gryffin Anselm usually wears with a red italic “D” on it. As soon as the fans get the final indication that Gryffin and Crash were in cahoots with one another, the huge chorus of booing. Anselm calls over to Josephina Colbert, asking for a microphone. Getting to the center of the ring, Gryffin looks right into the camera and addresses everyone watching. Gryffin Anselm: And just so everybody knows, “The Syndicate” is a cute little name and all… but from now on, you can refer to us as “The Diabolik”.
The intensity of the booing continues to grow, with some of the fans throwing their cups and other assorted trash into the ring. It’s a near riotous situation as the members of the Diabolik walk up the ramp, headed backstage. Mark Perletta: I just can’t believe what we’ve seen here. Crash turning on his good friend, Jake Dominion, to join up with Gryffin Anselm and the Diabolik?! Even after what they did to Eric Wolfson?! This is terrible. So many people had hope that Dominion and Crash would be able to dethrone Anselm and Win, and not only were the fans let down, but they had their hearts ripped out and stomped on. Landon Savage: And this is what makes the Diabolik the top team in the business! They know what it takes to win and stay in power, and they showed it here tonight. You might not like HOW they did it, but the results speak for themselves. Looking to the Future
Having already showered and changed out of his ring attire, John Thomas walks through the back halls of the arena wearing a pair of khaki shorts and a pale blue polo shirt. Keeping his head on a swivel, it's obvious that John is looking for someone. As he turns a corner, you can tell by the look on his face that he has found who he is looking for. John Thomas: Jay, man, congratulations on the big win, buddy! I knew you could do it, I knew the pay per view win “drought” you were going through was going to end tonight with this match against Danny boy. The camera turns and zooms out to show Loco Martinez standing there, looking at John, a fresh smile on his face. Loco Martinez: Thanks, JT. Figured when it came down to it? Stein couldn't keep up with the ole' Loco-motive. Loco gives a cocky wink and chuckles. John nods his head and continues. John Thomas: There was never any doubt about it, and that’s part of the reason that I didn’t take that Tao of Valor Match against him a while back. I didn’t want to get in between the two of you because I didn’t want anyone to be able to say that I was the reason you came out on top, ya know? That was stage one, you beating Danny and getting your confidence back, and now it’s time to move on to stage two. Loco cocks an eyebrow towards his friend. Loco Martinez: "Stage two"? We have a super secret plan for world domination you haven't told me about yet, Johnny boy? John cracks a smirk and throws an arm over Loco's shoulder. John Thomas: Something like that. Cocking his head to the side, John takes Loco down the hallway. World Title Match
Marcus Marion vs Stephen Rawlings © Josephina Colbert: Our next match is set for one fall and is tonight’s LEGACY World Championship Main Event Match!! The LEGACY Vision Jumbotron lights up and we see a close-up of the LEGACY World Title, zooming out to fit the words “LEGACY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP” underneath the image of the belt. The screen then goes black. As various images of night club scenes show up where we once saw the championship belt, "Vote With a Bullet" by C.O.C begins to play over the speakers. Josephina Colbert: Introducing first, the challenger… Standing at 6 foot 1 and weighing 226 pounds… “The True Revolutionary”…. Marcus… Marion! Out from the back curtain walks Marcus Marion to a chorus of boos from the fans all across the arena. He’s wearing white trunks with "The Revolutionary" in black lettering written across the back of them, a yellow polo shirt on with the collar flipped up. As he makes his way down the ramp headed towards the ring, he has a sour look on his face. Mark Perletta: Headed to the ring first is Marcus Marion, walking to the ring as the challenger in the World Title Match for the second pay per view in a row. Joey C: The way he’s been training? I don’t think he’s going to have the same stumbling against Rawlings again this time around. He made a mistake in their first match, going into it far too arrogant for his own good, and it cost him. He’s more realistic tonight, and that’s going to be why he’s able to win this match and regain the World Title. Landon Savage: It goes beyond winning this time around. His motivation seems like he’s just trying to prove that Rawlings is not in his league, that he never was. Not only does he want the title back, he wants to prove he's the biggest superstar in LEGACY history, and winning it for the third time might prove just that. Mark Perletta: It would certainly make him the most decorated superstar in LEGACY history, but he’ll have to take the belt from Rawlings to do so, and I’m not sure if he’s going to be able to do that. When Marion gets to the ring, and he takes the polo shirt off and throws it out into the crowd at a random fan, then he hops up onto the apron and then ducks under the top rope, entering the ring. He walks to the far corner, using the top rope to stretch out his arms and shoulders. As Marion stretches, his music fades under and “Champion” by Grinspoon begins to play over the speakers. Josephina Colbert: And his opponent… Standing at 5 foot 11 and weighing in at 192 pounds… he is the current LEGACY World Champion… Stephen… Rawlings!! When Stephen Rawlings steps through the curtain with the LEGACY World Title around his waist, the cheers ring in from all around the arena, and Rawlings takes a moment to acknowledge the fans before he walks down the ramp, headed towards the ring, his eyes set on his opponent. Mark Perletta: Tonight, for the first time, Stephen Rawlings walks down to the ring set to defend a World Championship Belt in a pay per view Main Event. Joey C: And yet, nothing changes about him. Most guys show up to a big match like this, they try to make it seem special, adding bits of flare or… whatever. But with Rawlings, nothing EVER changes. Same wrestling shorts, same tshirt, same expression, same theme music. NOTHING new, NOTHING special. Mark Perletta: I think that’s completely intentional. Stephen Rawlings has always put lots of effort into his preparations for EVERY match of his career, and thus far, I think the results speak for themselves, namely the belt around his waist. When Rawlings gets to the bottom of the ramp, he hops up onto the apron, staring over the top rope at Marcus Marion. As he stands there, a burst of blue pyro shoots straight up from each of the four corners. Once the pyro is done, Rawlings runs over to the corner, hops up onto the top rope from the outside and hoists the LEGACY World Title into the air, looking out over the crowd, the majority of whom let out a huge ovation for their champion. After kissing the belt, Stephen Rawlings hops down into the ring, walking over and he hands the belt to the referee. Joey C: That’s the last time Stephen Rawlings is going to hold that thing, so I hope he enjoyed it while it was his, because by the end of the night, the name plate on that thing is going to be changed to someone else’s name. Mark Perletta: Actually, Joey, even if Marcus Marion does win, the nameplate probably won’t be changed until sometime next week. Joey C: Come on, you know what I mean! Stop arguing semantics. Landon Savage: Either that or quit your job and go be a lawyer or an accountant or something. Mark Perletta: I was simply trying to enlighten our fans on… nevermind. What’s important now is that the referee has just called for the bell, and our main event is underway. For the first time tonight, they lock up. Stephen Rawlings gets the early advantage, grabbing Marion by the wrist and spinning him around into a hammerlock. Almost as quickly as he gets locked into the hold, Marion executes a standing switch, locking in a hammerlock of his own. Reaching over his head, Stephen grabs Marion around the neck and whips him forward down onto the mat with a snapmare takeover. Marcus tries to get up to his feet, but the Champion locks the Challenger into another hammerlock. Mark Perletta: Nice series of moves there by Stephen Rawlings. Joey C: Don’t get too comfortable, Stephen, it’s only a hammerlock, and Marion’s working his way back up to his feet. Mark Perletta: Rawlings seems to have other thoughts… Putting his foot into the back of Marion’s knee, Rawlings forces Marcus down into a kneeling position, the hammerlock still synched in. Firing backwards with an elbow, Marcus Marion catches Rawlings with a shot to the jaw, and though it doesn’t get Rawlings to release the hammerlock, it does allow Marion to get to his feet without getting kicked in the back of the knee a second time. Instead, however, Rawlings slides his free arm into a modified half-nelson position, then throws Marion backwards into a suplex, holding on in a bridged position for a pinfall attempt. ONE! TWO!! Joey C: And Marion kicks out with ease. I hope nobody thinks that 2 count was anything significant. Marion would’ve kicked out after one if it wasn’t such a surprise attempt. I mean, who goes for a pinfall attempt so early in the match? Mark Perletta: I don’t believe that Stephen Rawlings was trying to win the match with that attempt, I think it was merely an effort to give Marion some foreshadowing of things to come. As both men get back to their feet, Marion fires in with a hard right hand, but Rawlings blocks it, grabs, twists around into another hammerlock, but instead of keeping the hold synched in, he immediately uses his free arm to put Marion into the modified half-nelson, and Rawlings again hits the suplex. This time instead of holding on into a bridged pinfall attempt, Stephen loses his grip on Marion, who slides his arms and head out of position. Once free, Marcus rolls away and rolls out of the ring underneath the bottom rope. Joey C: Good idea, Marcus, head out there and get a little solace with Nicole. Slow down the pace a little bit, make this match go YOUR way. Mark Perletta: That might be what Marcus wants to do, but it doesn’t look like Rawlings is going to let that happen, he wants to stay in control, and that’s a very positive sign. Sliding underneath the bottom rope, Stephen Rawlings heads to the outside. When Marcus Marion sees him coming, he spins Nicole Rhodes around forces her to stand in Rawlings’ way, meanwhile Marcus turns around and picks up the pace, walking around the outside of the ring to avoid the Champion, buying himself more time. Stephen easily gets around Nicole and he picks up the pace, moving faster to try to get his hands on Marion. Mark Perletta: Marcus Marion is leading the way in a good old fashion chase around the ring! Joey C: Why couldn’t Rawlings just leave Marcus alone for a minute? Stephen’s in such a hurry that you’d think he has somewhere else to be tonight! Already halfway around the ring from where the chase started, Marcus Marion slides into the ring, getting to his feet before Stephen Rawlings begins to follow in after him. As Rawlings gets into the ring, Marion steps in and drills him with a hard right fist to the temple, knocking the Champion down to the mat. Rawlings starts trying to get up off the mat, but Marcus drops down with a double axhandle, knocking Rawlings back down to the mat. Reaching down, Marion grabs Rawlings by the arm and pulls him to the center of the ring. Once there, Marion turns Stephen over onto his back, then crouch down and scrapes his elbow across Rawlings’ face, then reloading and hitting another forearm scrape. Joey C: Look at Marcus Marion just UNLOAD with those forearms across Rawlings’ face! Landon Savage: I imagine that in this match, we’re going to see a mix of things from Marcus Marion. He’s been training hard to be able to try to match Rawlings’ technical, mat wrestling, but Marcus is also frustrated about losing his belt, and he’s going to playing rough with things like those forearm shots. Taking Stephen Rawlings by the head, Marcus Marion lifts him up to his feet, bending Stephen’s left leg at the knee, and Marion puts his leg underneath it. Getting a grip on his opponent, Marion lifts Stephen Rawlings up into the air, dropping him down onto his extended leg with the knee breaker. Before releasing, Marcus lifts him up again and drops him back down with another knee breaker. Once Stephen Rawlings is released from Marion’s grasp, he tries to stand, but Marcus immediately drops down to a knee and takes Rawlings down to the mat with a single leg takedown. Mark Perletta: The champion is down and Marion is quick to follow it up. He takes Rawlings by the ankle and lifts that right leg up off the mat… He’s been working over that leg and it looks like he’s going to continue… Landon Savage: Nice falling elbow drop right into the side of Stephen’s knee, and if Marion can keep working over that leg, Stephen’s going to have trouble standing. Joey C: I’m sure Marcus Marion knows that, and he’s back up… and he’s definitely going to continue what he’s doing Grabbing Rawlings by the leg, Marion gets back up to his feet. Wasting no time at all, he spins his legs around Rawlings’ leg, then he drops down to the mat, grabbing Stephen’s other leg and puts him into a Figure Four Leg lock. Stephen immediately gets his fists underneath him, straightening his arms and keeping his back up off the mat. Mark Perletta: Stephen Rawlings fighting that Figure Four submission the best he can, and if anyone would be able to escape this hold, it would be the current World’s Champion, who has made a name for himself throughout his career of being a great technical wrestler. Joey C: I’m sure Marcus Marion would love it if Stephen Rawlings would tap out to this move, but his primary aim is the same thing he’s been doing for the past five minutes… he’s trying to soften up that leg. Landon Savage: Rawlings continues to fight this Figure Four, and I’m sure a lot of people are surprised that Marcus Marion has it locked in so well. Joey C: They shouldn’t be, I’m sure this is one of the moves he’s been perfecting ever since he left the SuperCard in Jacksonville. Lifting one of his arms up off of the mat, Stephen Rawlings starts turning over, pointing his arm directly above him at the ceiling of the arena. Marcus Marion is now fighting, trying to keep Rawlings from reversing the hold by rocking in the opposite direction. Suddenly it looks like Rawlings’ attempt to reverse the submission is lost. As Marion gets back down into a nearly flat position, Rawlings throws his OTHER fist into the air, using Marcus’ momentum against him and this time, Stephen flips the hold over. As the Figure Four is reversed, the fans go wild all across the arena. Mark Perletta: Great reversal by Stephen Rawlings, and now that the tables are turned, Marcus Marion tries to break free of the hold as quickly as possible! Joey C: The damage is done, though! Both men work their way up off the mat, and Marcus Marion looks to follow up the move as quickly as possible, but when he goes to lock up with the champion, Stephen Rawlings is too quick for him, grabbing him around the neck and whipping him backwards into a quick snap suplex. When they get back to their feet, Marcus Marion quickly puts Rawlings into a side headlock. Not wanting things to continue any further than this, Rawlings uses his legs to get tied up with Marion’s legs, taking him down to the mat with a modified drop toe hold. Spinning around and rolling over, Rawlings locks his legs around Marcus Marion’s neck into a make-shift submission. Mark Perletta: Stephen Rawlings trying to wear down Marcus Marion… Joey C: Marion struggles… he turns Rawlings over onto his back… Marcus rolls forward through the move, removing his head from the grasp of Stephen’s legs in the process! Landon Savage: Another good reversal from Marcus Marion, and it looks like his training is paying off. Mark Perletta: Makes you wonder if the result of their match back at the SuperCard would’ve been different if Marcus Marion would’ve put this much training into his first match with Stephen Rawlings as he did for tonight’s match. Marcus Marion’s the first of the two to get back to his feet, and he reaches down and tries to gain the advantage before Rawlings can get back into the match. As he lifts Stephen up off the mat, though, Marion gets caught under the chin with a European Uppercut that rocks the challenger back a step. When Rawlings gets up, he grabs Marion around the neck, locking his leg around Marion’s leg, then whips backwards into a Side Russian Legsweep. Mark Perletta: Just when it looks like Marcus Marion is going to take over the match, Stephen Rawlings finds a way to get right back in it. Landon Savage: Looks like he’s about to follow it up in a big way… Standing over Marcus Marion, grabbing him by the hair, Stephen Rawlings signals something to the crowd and then lifts Marion up off the mat and puts him over the shoulder. Seeing that her man is in trouble, Nicole Rhodes hops up onto the apron, stepping up onto the second turnbuckle and leaning out as far as she can into the ring and grabs Marcus by the ankle, keeping Rawlings from hitting his move. Letting go of Marion, Stephen Rawlings starts yelling at Nicole Rhodes, who looks frightened by the World Champion, is frozen on the ring apron. Joey C: You’ve got to be kidding me, Stephen Rawlings is going to attack a woman?! So much for honor! Mark Perletta: The referee doesn’t seem to want to see that happen, and now he’s stepping in and getting in between Rawlings and Miss Rhodes. Landon Savage: Stephen Rawlings is about to wish he had kept his focus on the challenger… When Stephen Rawlings turns around to look for his opponent, he gets drilled with a thunderous knife-edge chop to the chest by Marcus Marion, who had just gotten back to his feet after falling to the mat when Rawlings let him go. The chop sends Rawlings back into the nearby corner Nicole Rhodes had just used, and Marion follows up with another knife-edge chop. Keeping on the attack, Marcus hits a third knife-edge chop. Mark Perletta: Those chops are just painfull to listen to, and now that Marcus Marion is backing up and planning his next move, you can see that Stephen Rawlings’ chest is starting to get blood red. Joey C: And here he goes, Marcus Marion back in on the attack, just what he needs to do if he wants to win this match and regain that World Championship status. Pulling Rawlings out of the corner, Marcus Marion twists him around into an abdominal stretch, making sure to keep it locked in tight. With his free hand, Marion slaps downwards and hits Stephen right on the chest, hitting the spot where he connected with the knife-edge chops. Rawlings struggles to try to break free of the hold, but as Stephen nearly breaks free, Marcus Marion reaches back through the ropes and takes a hold of the hand of Nicole Rhodes, increasing the amount of pressure put into the hold. The referee spots what’s going on and begins to yell at Marion, forcing him to let go of Nicole Rhodes’ hand. As soon as he does so, Marion is thrown down to the mat with a hiptoss from Stephen Rawlings. Mark Perletta: Brilliant counter to the abdominal stretch, and Stephen Rawlings is back in this match! Grabbing Marion by the head, Rawlings lifts him up into a vertical suplex, but when Marcus reaches the height of the move, he’s able to twist out of it, landing on his feet on the mat behind the champion. Lowering his shoulder and pushing it into Rawlings’ back, Marion charges full force, sending his opponent chest first into the corner. Turning Rawlings around, Marion lifts him up and sets him onto the top turnbuckle and then starts climbing. Once he gets up onto the second rope, Marcus hooks Rawlings’ head in underneath his arm. Mark Perletta: It looks like Marcus Marion is going to go for a Superplex off the top rope… Joey C: This could be the beginning of the end if he hits it! Before Marion can complete the Superplex, Rawlings fires in and nails him in the ribs, breaking the hold Marcus has on him, then he shoes Marion down off the ropes down onto the mat. Once Marion is back up to his feet, Stephen Rawlings steps up onto the top rope and comes flying off, looking for his hurricanrana finishing move. Once Stephen’s legs are around Marion’s neck, however, Marcus pivots to put his back towards the ropes and then reaches behind him, grabbing on to the top rope to keep Rawlings from pulling him over. Trying to get himself some momentum, Rawlings pulls himself up above Marcus’ head, his legs still wrapped over Marion’s shoulders, still hoping to hit the hurricanrana. When Stephen does this, however, Marcus takes his free arm to shove Rawlings up and off of him, pulling him straight downwards, his back facing down. Marcus sticks out his knee and bends down. Landon Savage: Nice modified backbreaker there by Marcus Marion, turning a hurricanrana into a modified backbreaker, and Rawlings looks to be in trouble. Mark Perletta: The challenger returns to a vertical base and he grabs Rawlings by the head… he looks to be setting him up for something… Could this be the Revolutionary Thrill? With the fans all watching on in horror, Marcus Marion puts Rawlings’ head between his legs into a standing headscissors, then grabs around Stephen’s abdomen, pulling him into an inverted position… he jumps… PILEDRIVER!! Joey C: Marion hits the Revolutionary Thrill! This is it, we’re going to have a new champion! ONE… TWO… NO!!!!! Mark Perletta: Listening to these fans, you can tell just how close that pinfall attempt was, with nearly everyone in this building extremely happy to see that Marcus Marion didn’t just become a three-time World Champion. Landon Savage: Well that two count was very close to being a three count, and Stephen Rawlings should consider himself lucky to have gotten that shoulder up off the mat. Stephen Rawlings somehow finds a way to get his shoulder up, and Marcus Marion looks irate!! Getting up off the mat, Marion starts arguing with the referee, pissed off at only getting a two-count. The referee tells Marion to back up, warning him that he’s going to get disqualified if he touches him. The reality of the situation sets in and Marion goes back to work on Stephen Rawlings, who has forced himself back up off the mat, having a couple moments to shake the cobwebs. Marcus steps in and drills Rawlings with a hard right hand, but undeterred, Rawlings grabs him around the waist, lifts him up and drops him onto the mat with an inverted atomic drop, then takes a step back and clotheslines Marion down to the mat, and re-energized, Stephen heads right for the ropes. Once he gets out onto the apron, Stephen Rawlings gets to the top rope as quickly as he can, not wasting any time as he leaps off, diving feet forwards towards his opponent. Mark Perletta: Perfectly executed missile dropkick from Stephen Rawlings that connects right with the head of Marcus Marion! Landon Savage: He didn’t only hit the mat, Marcus Marion hit the mat and kinda rolled backwards, in the process putting his head and neck into a very precarious position, and now he’s trying to return to his feet… As Marcus Marion gets up off the mat, you can tell from his body language how dazed he is. Stepping in, Stephen Rawlings lifts Marcus Marion up onto his shoulders, then immediately dumps him off to the side as he falls down towards the mat, hitting the Death Valley Driver. The excitement increases significantly all around the arena when Rawlings maintains his grip around Marion’s neck, wrenching back into a Dragon Sleeperhold! Mark Perletta: For the second time in this match, Stephen Rawlings locks on this dangerous dragon sleeper submission, and this could be it! Landon Savage: He was lucky to get Marion to tap out to it back in Jacksonville, and I don’t think he’s going to be able to do it again… Joey C: I don’t know, it looks like Marion’s not close enough to reach the ropes. Mark Perletta: That’s not going to stop Nicole Rhodes from trying… Kneeling up on the apron, Nicole Rhodes reaches out, trying to grab on to Marcus Marion to try to help him get out of the dragon sleeperhold. The referee sees her trying to get involved and he steps over and yells at Nicole, and she hops down off of the apron. The referee then moves back in to check for a submission, but Marcus Marion wildly shakes his arms, yelling “NO!”, his cries muffled from under Rawlings’ arm. Mark Perletta: Marcus Marion trying to hold on, trying to stay in this match, not wanting to submit. Landon Savage: This isn’t looking good… this isn’t looking good at all. The move still locked on, Marcus Marion continues to fight. The referee backs up a bit, and Marcus Marion tries to shuffle his feet, hoping to get closer to the ropes, but Rawlings takes a step back and drops down to his knees. Mark Perletta: That puts a stop to Marion’s movement, and this is looking VERY good for the champion… Joey C: I can’t believe it’s going down like this! The referee steps back in and checks to see if Marion wants to give up. His screams of “NO!” continue to ring out, getting louder and more wild. He shakes his arms in frustration, trying to stay in the match. Rawlings wrenches upwards, trying to inflict more pain, more damage on the challenger. Marion continues yelling “NO!” as the referee checks to see if he wants to submit, but suddenly those cries of “NO!” turn to “YES!”. Marion starts tapping Rawlings’ arm, and when the referee realizes that Marion is, indeed, submitting, he looks over and calls for the bell. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner and STILL LEGACY World Champion… Stephen… Rawlings!!! As the bell rings, Stephen Rawlings relinquishes his hold on Marcus Marion, letting him slump down to the mat with the little bit of consciousness he still has. Climbing under the bottom rope, Nicole Rhodes grabs Marcus by the arm and tugs him towards the edge of the ring, getting him to roll over and head out of the ring underneath the bottom rope before Rawlings even has his arm raised. Mark Perletta: He does it! Stephen Rawlings proves the doubters wrong as he successfully defends the belt against Marcus Marion here tonight, and I think this is going to go a long way to increase his credibility. And to top it all off, Marcus Marion knows he was beaten fair and square, and it looks like he and Nicole can’t wait to leave this arena. They’re already halfway up the ramp! Joey C: And why wouldn’t they want to get the heck out of dodge? These fans don’t appreciate anything Marcus Marion has done for LEGACY. He could’ve taken a contract with dozens of other organizations where he would have taken their ratings through the roof, but he didn’t. He choose LEGACY, and what does he get for his hard work? For his loyalty? He gets laughed at. No wonder they’re choosing not to stick around, and these fans will be lucky if that’s not the last time they see Marcus Marion in LEGACY. With the belt in his hands, Rawlings grins as he sees Marcus Marion disappear through the curtain, and then he turns around, walks over to the corner, climbing the turnbuckle. With a foot on both middle ropes as they come in to the middle turnbuckle, Stephen hoists the World Championship belt into the air, getting an extra big pop from the crowd. Holding it there for a few moments, Rawlings just stares out over the crowd, looking at the fans before hopping down off the turnbuckle. As Rawlings walks across the ring towards the opposite corner, pyro shoots off from all four corners of the ring, causing Rawlings to wait before continuing to the other corner. Joey C: WHY couldn’t those have gone off when Rawlings was up there?! Once the pyro dies down, Rawlings heads over to the opposite corner, climbs the turnbuckle and hoists the championship belt into the air just like he did atop the other turnbuckle, eliciting the same pop from the fans as they did when he raised the belt atop the other corner. Yet again, Rawlings just stares out into the crowd, looking at the cheering fans. Backstage
The scene shifts backstage where we find the challenger walking with Nicole Rhodes in tow, and a look of utter disgust on his face, obviously unhappy about what has just transpired in the ring, and he turns the corner and begins walking down the hall, and reaching the door way at the end he finds that it’s locked. He tries again to open the door to move further into the arena. Suddenly, he freezes, as if something isn’t right. Nicole is the first to turn, and she gasps, and Marion does slowly, and there before him is someone we haven’t seen in LEGACY in almost four months. There, at the end of the hall way we see The Outlaw standing dressed in black: black pants, black boots, and black trench coat. The only color visible is in the skull of The Outlaw logo which seems to be cackling evilly at Marion at that distance. The Outlaw doesn’t move at first, only speaks as Nicole begins to shrink behind Marion. “I’ve waited a long time for this Marion.” “There’s no Nicolas Creed.” “There’s no Jake Blaine.” “There’s no army of whores to hide behind, in fact, I think that one is hiding behind you.” “You stole the title from me, and months of my career in LEGACY.” “Thanks to Rawlings I don’t get to take my belt back from you as part of my payback, but as far as the career goes?” “Let’s just say … “ The Outlaw begins stalking towards Marion, and from under his trenchcoat comes a fist holding in a massive sledgehammer. With that, Greyson rears back and takes a wicked swing that would have caved in Marion’s skull had it connected, but instead it hits the cement wall, cracking it with bits of stone flying from the impact. Marion tries to then go low on Blade but Greyson is there and grabs him by the throat and slams him into the wall, and headbutts him roughly. The head of the sledge comes up into Marion’s ribs, and there’s a wet snap as it hits home multiple times. Finally, Greyson uppercuts Marion with the sledge as he staggers bleeding from the wall, and Blade stalks him and proceeds to spear him into the locked doors, crashing him through to the other side. Blade is up as Nicole Rhodes who was in shock begins to scream! Blade grabs her by the hair and pulls her roughly to Marion and slaps her down like a rag doll, and she falls on top of Marion screaming in terror as security comes flying through the halls, and as Greyson stands over Marion with the sledge raised and Nicole weeping over him in fear. Taking Greyson by the arm, jacket, wherever they can grab hold, the members of security pull Greyson back and remove the sledge from his hands. “Payback’s a bitch, Marion!” Blade smiles as security hauls him away from the bodies, and EMT’s rush to the scene, and we cut back to the ringside area where Stephen Rawlings is still in the ring, now with a microphone in hand. Back to the Ring
Stephen Rawlings: Ladies, gentlemen, tonight… this match… this was just the beginning. This match was the first of what should be many successful title defenses. Unlike Marcus Marion, you’re not going to have to wait for some vacation to be over before you see this belt defended. Though, after what I just saw on the LEGACY Vision, we’re probably not going to be seeing or hearing for Marion again for a while. A considerable chorus of cheers rings out from the fans in the arena, though they don’t last long, as they know Rawlings still has something more to say. Stephen Rawlings: My reign is going to be a reign of honor. I’m going to defend this belt and defend this belt and defend this belt and defend this belt. I’m going to tirelessly take challenges from all worthy competitors, whether they’re on this roster or not. Every chance I get, I’m going to put this belt on the line and give LEGACY fans the champion they deserve. A palm muted bassline explodes as the words, "THE Legacy Superstar" flash across the LEGACY Vision jumbotron. As “C’mon C’mon” by the Von Bondies kicks in, the excitement level across the arena kicks it up a notch. From the back, Loco Martinez strolls through the curtain, stepping out onto ramp, mic in hand. Rawlings walks over to the edge of the ring, looking up the isle at the competitor who just walked out onto the entrance stage. |
