A sweeping shot over a rabid Legacy Crowd. The rythmic strumming of
the Silversun Pickups "Lazy Eye" starts, and the huge sweeping
shot gets faster and more frantic and we fly up the entrance ramp to
"Guerilla Position". We see the back of a waiting superstar.
He bounces awaiting to enter the arena... to answer his Call to Arms... "i've been waiting "to appear sad "fixed to rest on you "everyone's so intimately rearranged "everyone's so intimately rearranged "it's so fun to relate" The three are now in the ring brawling with the Syndicate and John Thomas. "it's the room the sun and the sky" "it's the room" "the sun" "i've been waiting" CALL TO ARMS
The live show opens on a shot of the roaring fans all over the arena, showing various sections of it, then a wide shot of the ring. We then switch to a clip of Mark Perletta, Landon Savage and Joey C sitting behind the announcer's table. Mark Perletta: Good evening everyone, WELCOME to another pay per view extravaganza presented by LEGACY. I'm Mark Perletta, joined by my regular broadcast partners Landon Savage and Joey C, and this... is CALL TO ARMS. Landon Savage: Last time people paid to watch a LEGACY event on television, we brought you BRICK BY BRICK. Tonight, I dare say that the card we have for you... it has the potential to be even bigger than that. Joey C: A third of the guys who are on the card tonight weren't even officially on the LEGACY roster back at Brick by Brick, and tonight they get the chance to show a world-wide audience what they're capable of, not to mention they can help improve their position in this business by impressing the front office. Mark Perletta: Tonight's show is going to be so full that not only did we have a pre-show on Friday Night to lighten the load of tonight's show by three matches, but the front office also made a deal with the pay per view distributor to allow us to go over-time if we need it. I don't want this commentary to be the reason why we need the extra time, so let's get to our first match. Ray Willmott vs Alex
Harmston
The time-keeper’s bell rings slowly, a second’s pause between each of the three tones, and Josephina Colbert steps into the ring. Josephina Colbert: Our first match of the night is set for one fall. Introducing first… The lights dim in the arena and the LEGACY Vision jumbotron announces
the coming of the first competitor, echoing the voice that rings out. Ray's Up Everybody
‘Desire to Fire’ by Machinehead starts up over the speakers all over the arena… Josephina Colbert: Hailing from Cardiff, Wales… he is ‘RED HOT’… Ray… Willmott!! The intensity of the cheers from the fans increases at the announcement of the first competitor. Once the beat fully kicks in, a big blast of fire erupts from either side of the entrance curtain, and Ray bursts out from the back, charging down the aisle like a wildman, really soaking up the adrenaline of the moment!! He slaps a few hands as he makes his way down the ramp and he slides into the ring, popping right up to his feet. He takes off the metal guard around his shoulders and chest much like Shawn Michaels would wear, leaving him standing in the ring, hopping up and down to loosen his legs. His white pants have a fire emblem on the side which matches what’s on the LEGACY Vision jumbotron. Mark Perletta: Ray Willmott looks like he’s excited and ready for this match to get under way. This isn’t the first time he’s faced Alex Harmston, but the two havne’t come to blows yet here in LEGACY, showing some decent restraint. Joey C: I don’t know why Ray should be so excited for this match. Alex Harmston has virtually owned him in the past, and I don’t see why this match should be any different. Landon Savage: From what I’ve seen, Ray Willmott has been extremely dedicated and focused in training for this contest. Machinehead fades under and Ray continues stretching in the ring as Josephina Colbert gets back on the microphone in the middle of the ring, standing next to the referee. Josephina Colbert: And his opponent… hailing from Mesa, Arizona… he is “The Foundation”… Alex… Haaaarmston!! A few moments after “Leader of Men” by Nickelback begins to play, Alex Harmston steps out from the back, wearing black karate type gi pants with a double red stripe down the outer legs, MMA style fingerless gloves, and dark red boots. Over everything he wears a long sleeveless black trenchcoat hanging open. After briefly pausing at the top of the ramp, Harmston makes his way down the isle, keeping his eyes on Ray, completely ignoring the fans as he heads towards the ring. Landon Savage: You’re looking at a guy who is going to play a significant role in the future of this organization. Mark Perletta: Alex Harmston is a talented individual, and this is his first chance to make an impression LEGACY fans who haven’t seen him before. He may have beaten Willmott in 3 of their 4 meetings prior to tonight, but you can tell by his demeanor that he’s taking this match very seriously. As he walks up the steps to the ring, he takes off the crucifix that he wears around his neck, handing that and his trenchcoat to the ring attendant, then stepping into the ring. Without taking his eyes off of Willmott, Harmston backs into the corner, grabs a hold of the ropes on either side of him and squats down a few times, loosening his shoulders and legs. The referee calls both men to the center of the ring. After talking with them for a minute, then backs up. Mark Perletta: The story between them goes back to the NWF, then to the SHOOT Project, and now the final chapter in the rivalry between Harmston and Willmott takes place tonight here in LEGACY. Landon Savage: A very tense moment during this staredown… Now it looks like they’re both backing up to get things started on an equal note. Willmott and Harmston circle the ring like two hungry wolves hunting their prey. Without warning Willmott throws a hard right cross just connecting with Harmston and it rocks him backward. Willmott charges in with another one but it's quickly blocked and Harmston downright slaps him across the face. Mark Perletta: That's a show of blatant disrespect on Harmston's part. Look at him standing there with a Cheshire cat's grin on his face. Joey C: I love it. He slapped the taste out of his mouth. Literally. That'll make Willmott think twice about charging Harmston like that. Landon Savage: Don't be so sure about that, Joey. Willmott glares with the utmost hatred in his eyes right now and Harmston makes the signal to "bring it on." Willmott charges in with a clothesline and Harmston ducks out of the way. When Willmott turns around he's met with a kick to the bread basket and a snap mare takedown. Without hesitation, Harmston locks in a juji-gatame or crucifix armbar in the middle of the ring and Willmott has nowhere to go. As Willmott starts to maneuver himself into a position where he can counter, he's quickly stopped dead in his tracks as Harmston pulls harder and extends his lower body in the air. Mark Perletta: Harmston really has that armbar locked in tight. Joey C: The match is over before it even began, Marky. Harmston is just too good. Landon Savage: They're both good on the ground, Joey. And THAT is why! Willmott manages to reach his knees and pull away from Harmston long enough to drop right back down to apply a cross knee block. Willmott doesn't wait a second to lock it in tight and position himself perfectly to achieve maximum damage. Harmston reaches the ropes with ease before Willmott can do anymore damage. Willmott releases immediately and waits for Harmston to reach his feet. The second Harmston reaches his feet, Willmott eggs Harmston on making the motion to "bring it on" just like Harmston did at the beginning of the match. Harmston's Cheshire cat grin is gone now and he fires a vicious haymaker at Willmott that's blocked and countered with one of Willmott's. Mark Perletta: I don't know if I should call this a slugfest or submission clinic. Joey C: Slugfest. Landon Savage: You'd like it to be, Joey. Submission clinics aren't exciting to you. Joey: Shut up, Savage. Willmott locks it up with Harmston and pulls him down into a side headlock. Harmston moves Willmott into the ropes and tries to push him toward the other side of the ring, but Willmott will be denied and keeps that side headlock locked in tightly. Harmston quickly fires three elbow shots into his body which forces Willmott to break. Harmston immediately performs a drop toe hold on Willmott and locks in a crucifix neck crank, holding both of Willmott's arms behind his back and forcing his head into his chest. The referee checks in on Willmott but he's immediately told to back off. Willmott struggles to rotate to his side and it seems like he's about to roll out of it when Harmston forces him back down. Joey C: HA! Harmston is too strong for him. There is no way Willmott wins this fight. He's getting pummeled out there. Willmott again rotates to his side and is yet again forced back down. The referee checks in on Willmott again but he kicks at him and yells to "back the fuck off." The crowd starts with the chants now and Willmott rallies behind their support and rolls around to a crouched position and tackles Harmston to the ground. Immediately after tackling him to the ground, Willmott reaches behind Harmston and hooks his head pulling toward him. He pulls Harmston toward him as hard as he can before he lets go, not wanting to keep the submission hold on and quickly fires right hand after right hand into Harmston's jaw. The referee pulls Willmott away and pushes him toward a neutral corner. Mark Perletta: No! Willmott charges back in there landing haymakers on a now standing Harmston until the two spill outside of the ring. Joey C: Come on Ref! That's cheating! Landon Savage: If this match was over before it began and Willmott has no chance of winning then why are you worried? Joey C is cut off from answering by the sudden thud of Harmston's forehead making contact with the announcer's table. The referee counts as the two are outside. 3... 4... Willmott whips Harmston into the guard rail and lands some more haymakers. 5... Willmott pulls Harmston close to him and attempts to throw him into the ring but Harmston shoves him into the ring post. 6... Harmston in a further attempt to gain control over this match and ultimately Willmott slams his head into the steel steps and ducks under the ropes and into the ring to break the count then slides back out again. Joey C: Smart move by Harmston to break the referees count. Landon Savage: That's a veteran's experience paying off. Mark Perletta: And there he goes again, slamming Willmott into those steel steps. The count begins again as Harmston whips him toward the other side of the ring and into more steel steps. The count only reaches 3 before Harmston pushes Willmott back into the ring. But he quickly grabs hold of Willmott's legs and pulls him against the ring post taking full advantage of a cheap shot to the family jewels. Mark Perletta: Now that's a cheating. That's a cheap shot if I ever did see one. Joey C: That's a veteran's experience paying off if you listen to what Landon was saying. Nothing to say now, big shot? Harmston doesn't stop there as he quickly applies a figure four leglock around the ring post. He applies the lock for as long as he can before the referee forces him to release. Harmston holds out his hands as if to play innocent and say it was totally legal. Harmston slides back into the ring with full control of this match right now and pulls Willmott from the ring post. He picks Willmott up and whips into the ropes. Harmston goes for the clothesline and is quickly denied with a kick to the stomach. Willmott runs into the ropes and returns with the kitchen sink Without losing any momentum he quickly slingshots Harmston into the corner and as he staggers backwards out of the corner, Willmott pulls him backward and locks in an inverted face lock. Willmott again not wanting to keep this in a submission fashion drops him down with an inverted DDT and goes for a pin. 1... 2... NO! Mark Perletta: He almost had him there. Ray is definitely getting his second wind here. But as everyone who's ever followed his career knows, the longer the match goes on the better he gets. Landon Savage: That's why Harmston wanted to finish him off early. But he couldn't and now he has to contend with that. Nothing to say, Joey? Joey C: Whatever. Willmott executes a shin breaker, keeping Harmston on the ground rolling in agony as he clutches his shin. He drops him again. And again. Mark Perletta: Ray is working on that shin for the Ultimatum. Once that shin is weakened it's going to be hard to slip away from. Joey C: Those are cheap shots. That's all they are. Willmott now drops elbow after elbow after elbow onto his shin until the referee pulls him away. Willmott begins arguing that they're legal moves and rightfully so but the ref pushes him away anyway. As Willmott moves toward him again the ref pushes him back with a warning. That was all the time Harmston needed to recover enough to stand up. Harmston executes a belly to belly suplex that shakes the ring. Landon Savage: That hurt both men. Harmston is gripping that shin of his and Willmott is holding his back as he reaches his feet. Joey C: Come on, Harmston! Get up! Mark Perletta: Ouch! Harmston trips Willmott and he falls face first to the mat. Harmston reaches his knees and grabs the back of Willmott's head and begins hammering it into the mat repeatedly. Before he can do too much damage, the ref picks Harmston up and shoves him in the corner. Harmston grins and waits for him to walk off. Mark Perletta: What the… he wanted the referee to pick him up so he wouldn't have to get up himself! The sneaky bastard. Joey C: No. That's a smart bastard. Why use his own energy when he can get help? Landon Savage: I must say that Harmston has been using some of that veteran experience tonight to help him through the match. Harmston walks in and pulls Willmott to his feet. Harmston quickly drops ray with a DDT and goes for the cover. 1.. 2... Mark Perletta: NO! Willmott kicks out. Joey C: NO! Harmston expecting him to kick out lifts him up again and whips him into the corner. Harmston charges in and is kicked right in the mouth before he can do any damage whatsoever. Willmott staggers out and gives him a quick punch to the chin, followed by a whip to the ropes. As Harmston returns, he is hit with an atomic and quickly followed up with a cutter ala DDP. He quickly goes for the pin. 1... 2... Mark Perletta: Again a kick out. Both competitors doing a great job tonight. They're going back and forth with both submission and technical wrestling. This is truly a great match. Joey C: It'll be great when Harmston wins. That's when it'll be great. Willmott looking very frustrated pulls Harmston up and hooks him for a suplex, but Harmston counters with a swinging neck breaker. Harmston picks Willmott up and slides in behind him and locks in a full-nelson. He holds him in the position for as long as he can, working on the neck for his Crashing Down finisher then quickly slams him to the ground. He goes for the pin. 1... 2.. Mark Perletta: NO! A kick out again! Joey C: That was a slow count! The ref is cheating! This is… Landon Savage: Don't tell me you're calling this a conspiracy, Joey. The referee isn't cheating. Joey C: Why don't you shut up. Mark Perletta: Take it easy boys. Harmston rolls Willmott onto his side and locks in a crossface. Willmott struggles to free himself which only prompts Harmston to pull back harder. Willmott continues to struggle until it seems he's out. The referee lifts his arm and it falls. He lifts it again and it falls. He lifts it again as he prepares to call for the bell but at the last second he raises his arm high and the crowd begins chanting again. Harmston struggles and struggles to keep him in the crossface but to no avail. Willmott breaks the hold, but before he can gain his footing… he's pulled down into a school boy pin. 1... 2... Mark Perletta: That was out of pure desperation. Joey C: No it wasn't. He's trying to get inside Willmott's mind. Landon Savage: Oh brother. Willmott is slow to get up and Harmston sees an opportunity for a clothesline but he's denied as Willmott ducks it and clotheslines Harmston down. Harmston is back up again and clotheslined again. He's up again and again clotheslined. This time he's up and a bit slow and Willmott charges in and… Running Tornado DDT!! Mark Perletta: ULTIMATUM!!! ULTIMATUM!!! It's over!!! Willmott goes for the pin. Joey C: NO! 1... 2... NO! Harmston got his shoulder up at the last millisecond. Willmott is absolutely frustrated and picks Harmston up again. He begins firing frustrated punches at Harmston and backs him into the ropes. He whips him into the ropes and jumps up with a dropkick but Harmston hangs onto the ropes on the other side of the ring. Denied! Harmston walks in and grabs Willmott by the throat with the referees disapproval then runs his forehead across the top rope. Harmston just shrugs off the referee not caring anymore. Harmston kicks Willmott in the guts and executes a perfect tiger driver. But he doesn't make the pin. He simply drops an elbow to the back of Willmott's neck and picks him up with more disapproval from the ref but this time with the threat of a disqualification. Harmston backs off this time. Mark Perletta: This isn't right. Harmston has been cheap shotting Willmott for the last few minutes and the referee just NOW threatens to disqualify Harmston? Joey C: He's letting 'em wrestle. I would too. It's only fair. Landon Savage: You just want to see Harmston win. You'd probably let him have a chair shot too. Harmston quickly kicks Willmott in the gut and attempts to “Shake the Foundation”, but he's denied. Willmott pushes him back into the ropes and sends a couple of haymakers that connect before more are blocked. Harmston throws some of his own and gains the upper hand. Harmston throws Willmott into the corner and this time connects with a vicious clothesline that sends Willmott staggering out. Harmston steps in and connects with a Reverse Russian Legsweep that slams Willmott into the mat. Joey C: YES! SHAKE THE FOUNDATION! HARMSTON WINS! 1... 2... Mark Perletta: NO! AGAIN WE HAVE A KICKOUT! Landon Savage: What's it going to take to keep these men down? Both have hit impact finishers on each other. Mark Perletta: This might just come down to how it all started. Submissions. With both of them tired, who knows where this might go. This is an amazing match we're witnessing here. Willmott and Harmston are up on their feet again and trading blows. Willmott with a right and left, Harmston with a right and left. They both throw haymakers and connect at the same time knocking each other back. Again. Mark Perletta: Neither man refuses to give an inch. Landon Savage: If they keep on like this they're gonna knock each other out. This looks like boxing more than it does anything else. Willmott ducks a haymaker and dropkicks Harmston on the kneecap. Harmston is down on one knee and Willmott dropkicks his other kneecap. Harmston is down and Willmott finally dropkicks Harmston in the face. Harmston on his back now, Willmott inches closer to lock in an armbar. NO! Harmston turns it around and simply grabs Willmott's wrist and elbow and pulls on it as hard as he can. The position his arm is in is almost sickening. Luckily for Ray he reaches the ropes but Harmston doesn't let go until the three count. He holds up his hands like he did nothing wrong then throws an elbow into Willmott's face UFC style. The referee pulls Harmston away and backs him into the corner scolding him although he just grins and shrugs. Mark Perletta: That isn't legal here. This isn't the UFC. You can't do that. Look at Willmott, he's bleeding. Joey C: Oh calm down, Marky. He's only bleeding in his mouth. It should let him know he's going to lose. Before Willmott can reach his feet again, Harmston charges in and clotheslines him through the ropes and out to the apron as Willmott holds on tightly to the ropes. Harmston seeing his opportunity, grabs Willmott's arm and pulls it up under the middle rope applying more pressure to that already hurting elbow. The ref quickly breaks it and Harmston moves in doing it again. Before he can keep it locked or the ref break it up, Willmott slaps Harmston right across the face like he did to Willmott. Harmston backs up pissed off beyond all belief. But when he charges back in he's punched again, he charges in, punched. It happens until Harmston is dizzy then with catlike quickness, Willmott runs to the top rope and jumps off going for a top rope Ultimatum Tornado DDT, but he is caught in midair and power slammed down to the mat hard. Landon Savage: Willmott is writhing in pain. He's clutching that back and Harmston sees it. He's just kicking Willmott's back repeatedly. Joey C: YES! Kick his… yeah. Mark Perletta: This is some of the worst cheap shotting I've ever witnessed in a match. Harmston lifts Willmott to the rope and backs him into the corner then whips him to the other one. Harmston charges in and receives a big boot to the face for his troubles. It only staggers him backward and he charges in again with the same result. Willmott then runs out of the corner and connects… Running Tornado DDT! Mark Perletta: ULTIMATUM! AGAIN! It's over! Joey C: NO! Landon Savage: Wait a second. He's not going for the pin. He's going for the Anxiety Amplified. Willmott has the leg locked in but can he get the dragon sleeper. Harmston is stirring from the Ultimatum he was just given and realizes what's going on. He begins to fight and move toward the ropes but he's stopped dead, he can't move anywhere. Harmston manages to knock Willmott off him and stand up. Willmott will have none of it and executes a drop toe hold locking the legs again and this time reaching up and locking in the dragon sleeper. He's got it locked in. Anxiety Amplified. Mark Perletta: He's not getting out of this one. He's in the center of the ring with nowhere to go. Joey C: He'll find a way. He can get out of it. Landon Savage: Dream on, Joey. The referee asks him if he wants to give and he refuses. Soon thereafter his body goes completely limp and he lifts Harmston's arm in the air. It just drops. He lifts it again and it drops. He lifts one more time but Harmston somehow manages to lift it up before it touches the mat. Mark Perletta: No way! Joey C: Way! Harmston continues to struggle and starts gaining a few inches toward the ropes. He gains a little more but Willmott wrenches back on him harder. Mark Perletta: How can he stand this much? Joey C: He's just that damn good. Harmston taps! He's tapping! Harmston falls to the mat and Willmott raises to his feet with his hands in the air and the crowd cheering him on. He falls back into the ropes as he's just fought one hell of a match. Josephina Colbert: Winner by way of submission… "RED HOT" Raaaaaaaaaaaaay Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillmot!! Mark Perletta: That was one fantastic match to start out Call to Arms. Both competitors gave it all they had but in the end, Ray Willmott proves to be the victor. Joey C: Whatever. Landon Savage: It'll be ok, Joey. Heh. You're right though Mark. It was one hell of a match. But let's get to the rest of the show. Odds on Favorites
The camera heads backstage to the halls of the arena, and heading down one of those halls towards the ring is none other than Domination with Trent Logan in the lead. Logan has that trademark all-knowing smile, and he runs his hands together as the monsters stalk behind him with unwavering gazes straight ahead. Suddenly, a voice gets Trent's attention and the group comes to a halt right in front of the man challenging for the Tao of Valor Championship tonight on A Call to Arms. Ron Bailey: Hey, Trent Logan, right? You all headed to the ring for that ladder match, right? Trent Logan looks back at the men behind him and sees RAGE roll his eyes a bit, and Trent turns back to Bailey. Trent: Yeah, we're headed to the ring right now for that match, so if you'd ... Ron Bailey: It’s cool, I won’t keep you. Wouldn’t want to make you late or nothin’, I was just wonderin’ what you’d say the odds are that you’re comin’ back through that curtain with the briefcase and the contract inside? Trent: Bailey? If I was a betting man? I'd bet it all on what you see standing right here in front of you, because tonight in that ring we are going to dominate, and we are taking our shot at the tag titles. The chance of victory? 100 percent. Ron squints his eyes a bit. Ron Bailey: 100%? I don’t think anybody in Vegas gives even odds on sporting events… Some of the regular season games in the NHL are close, but even odds, huh? If you’re that confident, maybe I should put some money down on it. He thinks about it for a quick moment, then continues. Ron Bailey: If I can get someone on the phone real quick to take the field, do you want in on the action? Trent: Ron, anything other than this? That's a gamble, and tonight I'm not a gambling man, but go ahead and put some money down on the men who will soon become LEGACY tag team champions. Ron nods his head slowly and thinks about it for a moment. Ron Bailey: Aight, well get out there and win me some money, will ya? As he walks off, Ron opens his cell phone and starts dialing. Number One Contenders
Match
World Tag Team Championship Long Island Hardcore vs Bushido Buntai vs Domination Josephina Colbert: Our next match is a Three Way Ladder Match, and the individual who gets the briefcase down from its position hoisted above the ring will earn his team the spot as the Number One Contenders to the World Tag Team Championship! Introducing first… The lights in the arena dim and a piercing white spotlight shines upwards from underneath the steel ramp, casting a weird shadow on the roof of the arena. Traditional Japanese music gradually increases in volume and the logo of the Bushido Buntai fades in on the LEGACY Vision jumbotron. Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at a combined 455 pounds… lead to the ring by their manager Shinya Nori… Osamu Hayashi and Katsuro Yoshida… the BUSHIDO… BUNTAI!!! First out from the back is Shinya Nori, whose suited-frame can be distinguished despite the lack of light, obviously not Katsuro Yoshida or Osamu Hayashi. Following a few feet behind, Osamu is the second through the curtain. Coming out third is a man dressed head to toe in a dark robe. Mark Perletta: An eerie scene as the Bushido Buntai head to the ring, and you have to know just how badly Shinya Nori and his team want to be victorious in this match to help them continue to climb the proverbial ladder of the tag team division here in LEGACY. Landon Savage: It’s hard for me to believe that Katsuro Yoshida and Osamu Hayashi haven’t already picked up tag team championship gold here. They were extremely proficient and very accomplished back in Japan, and it just hasn’t translated. Joey C: It’s no surprise to me why they’ve not been effective. They’re trying too hard to build up their names as respectable competitors instead of just trying to pick up victories. They’re too damn worried about what everyone thinks of them, and it’s hurt their bottomline thus far in North America. They didn’t have any of these damn problems in Japan. Mark Perletta: They’ve had their problems this side of the Pacific thus far, but you have to think that since they’ve started dealing with the speedbumps and figuring out ways around them, sooner or later they’re going to win the big one. Josephina Colbert: Introducing next… at a combined weight of 510 pounds… they are CJ Nelson and Jared Walsh… Long… Island… Harrrrrrdcoooore!!! As the lights come back on, the traditional Japanese music fades under and is replaced with "Bad Reputation" by Thin Lizzy. Out from the back walks CJ Nelson and Jared Walsh, both men wearing their new Long Island Hardcore shirts. As they stop at the top of the ramp, three pyro bursts come up through the steel ramp, one after another, each one closer to the ring. Once those three pyro blasts have fired off, Nelson and Walsh head down the ramp towards the ring. Joey C: Here comes my picks to not only win this match, but also to be the next LEGACY World Champions, because if anyone’s going to beat Gryffin Anselm and James Win, it would be these guys. Mark Perletta: Well they’re certainly no strangers to Tag Team Championships, and if they are able to climb one of the ladders and get that briefcase, they’ll have a contract to fight for the World Tag Team Titles. As CJ Nelson stretches using the top rope and Jared Walsh stares down the members of the Bushido Buntai, the Long Island Hardcore theme song fades under and is replaced with the ominous sounding rhythm of “Fear” by Disturbed. Josephina Colbert: And the third and final team… weighing in at a combined 590 pounds… RAGE Ben Murdock… VENOM Steve O’Reily… DOM-in-ATION!!!! Wearing his trademark suit, Trent Logan walks out from the back, walks to the top of the entrance ramp, puts his arms out to the sides, turns around and out from the back walks the two huge workhorses of Domination – Steve O’Reily and Ben Murdock. Both of them are wearing leather vests with a red Domination logo on the back of them. Mark Perletta: Both members of Domination appear primed and focused for this match, and with their unwaivering objective of getting the tag title gold, they realize how big this match is for them. Landon Savage: They need to be careful coming into a match they way they are coming into this one. I heard them talking with Trent Logan earlier in the day today, and they have a bit of a chip on their shoulders, and that could cost them if they’re not careful because it takes away from their focus. As Domination gets to the bottom of the ramp, they get up into the ring and remove their leather vests, handing them to Trent Logan, who then exits the ring. Steve and Ben do some final stretching before the match is set to begin. The camera then switches to a shot of the briefcase, which his hanging high above the ring. As we zoom out, we show the referee standing in the middle of the ring, pointing up at the briefcase, speaking to the members of all three teams. All competitors look up at the briefcase, and after the referee moves back out of the way the bell rings, all the men rush the center and start brawling. Mark Perletta: And here we go. Just like a lot of people probably figured would be the case, chaos reigns here early on. Landon Savage: I think things are matching up quite nicely. Katsuro Yoshida and Steve O’Reily are going toe to toe in one corner, Ben Murdock and CJ Nelson are having a “battle of the behemoths” in a different corner… Joey C: And Jared Walsh and Osamu Hayashi are locked up in the middle of the ring. Hayashi is the first person to get a clear advantage, using that mat wrestling skill to take Jared Walsh down to the mat. With a hard right hand, Ben Murdock levels CJ Nelson. Grabbing onto the middle rope for leverage, Murdock shoves CJ out of the ring underneath the bottom rope. Turning around, Ben Murdock walks over and drills Katsuro Yoshida in the back with an axhandle smash, providing the opportunity for a double team with Steve O’Reily. Mark Perletta: Smart thinking by Ben Murdock to stack the odds in their favor by working as a team to take on the stronger member of Bushido Buntai. Landon Savage: You can attribute that to Trent Logan, who has no doubt coached Domination to the point where they’re going to seem like a well oiled machine. Both members of Domination each grab one of Katsuro’s wrists, backs him into the ropes and then combine forces to send him across the ring in a huge irish whip. On the return Katsuro is lifted up off the mat by his legs, then brought back down to the mat with a huge double flapjack. On the other side of the ring, Jared Walsh found a way to get the advantage over Osamu Hayashi, and he is in the mounted position, trying to lay into the Bushido Buntai member with rights and lefts, but Hayashi is able to block the majority of those shots by guarding his face with his arms. Ben Murdock moves in from behind, however, and grabs Walsh, lifting him up off of Hayashi, lifts him straight up into the air into a gorilla press, but before he can slam Jared down, the Long Island Hardcore member sends a couple knees to Ben’s head, and the Domination member lets go of Walsh, allowing him to fall down to his feet behind him. As Murdock turn around, he’s drilled with a layout dropkick, sending Murdock back into the corner. Joey C: Not only does Jared Walsh avoid that gorilla press slam, but he ends up doing a bit of damage to Ben Murdock in the process. Mark Perletta: And instead of getting back to his feet after that layout dropkick, instead rolling under the bottom rope, headed to the outside. Joey C: Smart move, that’s where CJ Nelson is, and that’s also where all the ladders are. Lifting Osamu Hayashi up off the mat, Steve O’Reily sends the Bushido Buntai member into the corner, following it up with a hard elbow smash that rocks him hard. Moving in, Steve starts kicking Osamu in the gut, the fourth one dropping him down to the mat. From there, Steve starts to lay some stomps into Hayashi’s chest, but after the second one, Steve is drilled with a roundhouse kick to the back from Katsuro Yoshida. From there, Katsuro grabs him from behind into a double underhook, sending him backwards and down to the mat with a Tiger Suplex. Mark Perletta: Nice show of strength there by Katsuro Yoshida, and I didn’t realize he had it in him! Landon Savage: As the Bushido Buntai continue to get more comfortable in LEGACY, you’re going to see a lot more from Katsuro and Osamu. Joey C: How long you think we’re going to have to wait for them to get comfortable, Landon? Seems like they should’ve gotten to that point by now. Landon Savage: I don’t know what it’s going to take, but one small change could make all the difference, and when it does… Joey C: When it does, they’d better hope the World Tag Team Titles don’t belong to Long Island Hardcore! Mark Perletta: Speaking of CJ Nelson and Jared Walsh, they just got into the ring, and each of them has a ladder. Jared Walsh puts his ladder down on the mat in the corner, then grabs the end of the ladder his tag team partner CJ Nelson is holding, and the two run forward and use it to clothesline both Steve O’Reily and Osamu Hayashi at the same time. Katsuro Yoshida sees what happened to Hayashi and O’Reily, and he grabs Ben Murdock up off the mat, waits for the perfect opportunity a moment later and then irish whips Murdock into the ladder Nelson and Walsh are holding, sending Nelson and Walsh backwards down to the mat, Murdock clotheslined by the ladder. Mark Perletta: Smart move by Katsuro Yoshida, not only keeping Long Island Hardcore from doing any more damage with that ladder, but taking out Ben Murdock in the process. Landon Savage: And now Katsuro Yoshida is the only man standing, and this is going to be good. Taking the ladder off the mat which Jared Walsh had left in the corner, Katsuro walks over and drives the top of it straight down into the chest of CJ Nelson, then whips it over and slams the side of it against the chest of Jared Walsh. He then goes over to one of the corner and sets it up. From there he climbs halfway up, standing a little taller than he would if he were on the top rope, and he turns around to face the middle of the ring. Leaping off, Katsuro Yoshida lands a headbutt down onto Steve O’Reily’s sternum. Getting up off the mat, Katsuro Yoshida takes the ladder he just used, moves it a few feet right underneath the briefcase, and he starts climbing. Mark Perletta: Katsuro Yoshida making his way up that ladder fairly quick… Joey C: Not fast enough! Getting up off the mat, CJ Nelson gets up off the mat, steps up next to the ladder and puts his hands on it, starting to push it, trying to knock it over. Katsuro sees what CJ is trying to do, and he turns his attention away from the briefcase, then leaps off into a cross body block. CJ Nelson catches him out of mid-air, though, then takes a few steps away and throws Katsuro Yoshida backwards with a fallaway slam, knocking over the ladder which Osamu Hayashi had just started to climb. Joey C: Tough break for Osamu! Landon Savage: Shut up. Ben Murdock steps up to CJ Nelson and nails him with a hard right hand. As Nelson fights back, Steve O’Reily moves in and drops CJ down to his knees with a double axhandle. As Ben Murdock softens the Long Island Hardcore member up, Steve O’Reily takes the ladder off the mat, folds it up, and stands it in the corner. Ben Murdock takes Nelson by the wrist and sends him into the corner with an irish whip, crashing into the ladder back first. Before CJ Nelson can move out of the corner, Ben Murdock comes charging in and drills him with a spear, violently pinning him into the ladder. Mark Perletta: CJ Nelson nearly broken in half with that spear! Joey C: And apparently Ben Murdock might’ve jarred his shoulder in the process, so now he rolls to the outside. Landon Savage: It looks like Joey’s golden boy is about to get a double dose… Seeing an opportunity to do more damage, Steve O’Reily charges in and goes for a back elbow smash, but at the last moment CJ Nelson stumbles out of the way and O’Reily goes crashing into the ladder, which bounces off the ropes and drops to the mat, O’Reily and CJ Nelson going down at about the same time. Getting back up in the middle of the ring, Katsuro Yoshida rolls underneath the bottom rope and gets to the outside on the side of the ring where no one else is, grabs a ladder and throws it into the ring and then slides back in. Once he picks up the ladder, he sets it up near the corner and yells to Osamu Hayashi, who just got up off the mat in the middle of the ring. Signalling to his partner, Katsuro Yoshida instructs Osamu Hayashi to get out onto the apron and climb the turnbuckle near where the ladder is. Katsuro climbs up the ladder on the side nearest to the center of the ring and waits there. Joey C: What the hell is Katsuro doing? Mark Perletta: Osamu Hayashi steps out onto the ladder… he’s going up… he’s standing on the top now, with Katsuro Yoshida standing in front of him… Landon Savage: I can’t believe they’re about to try this again! They did this back in Japan a couple years ago… Interlocking his fingers on both hands, Katsuro Yoshida makes another platform on which Osamu Hayashi can rest his foot. Looking a bit unsure, Osamu puts his left leg on Katsuro’s interlocked hands, then leans forward. In one fluid motion, Osamu Hayashi leaps up towards the briefcase and Katsuro Yoshida throws himself backwards and his hands upwards, giving Osamu a bit of an extra push. The crowd goes silent as Osamu Hayashi flies up towards the briefcase, outstretched arms… and they erupt in cheers as he grabs it! Katsuro Yoshida lands on his feet down on the mat, excited that the move worked. Joey C: Why in the hell would the Bushido Buntai go for the briefcase that way when all they had to do would have been to move the ladder a few feet towards the center of the ring and they could’ve just climbed up. Landon Savage: I wondered the same thing when I saw a tape of them doing this a couple years ago, and that’s why I asked Shinya Nori the very same thing you just asked. With the ladder set up in the corner, no one’s going to worry as much about them climbing it, so there’s less chance someone was going to stop them. Mark Perletta: And since the ladder isn’t directly underneath Osamu Hayashi, no one else can climb up it to pull him off of the briefcase, and if they want to pull him down, they have to set up another ladder. Joey C: That all makes sense, but you’re forgetting two things. First, if Osamu Hayashi actually wants to get down once he gets the briefcase, he has to either rely on someone else setting up a ladder for him or he has to fall back down to the mat. Secondly, Osamu Hayashi is going to have a lot more difficulty releasing that briefcase because he’s having to use a ton of energy just to hold himself up there! That thing connecting the briefcase to the wires, it’s not a simple little device, and now Osamu’s not going to be able to use two hands to disconnect it! Having just gotten back into the ring, Steve O’Reily charges forward and nails Katsuro Yoshida in the face with the top of a ladder, using it as a battering ram. After putting one member of Bushido Buntai on the mat, VENOM steps back and aims at the other one. Holding the ladder near the bottom and laying the top against the top rope, Steve O’Reily swings it forward, connecting with Osamu Hayashi, knocking him off of the briefcase and sending him down to the mat. Crowd: Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit! Joey C: And THAT is why he shouldn’t have been up there without something to stand on! Mark Perletta: Osamu Hayashi is going to need a medic! Landon Savage: He’s moving, so he probably doesn’t need a medic just yet, but the trainer had better get a translator who knows Japanese so he can deal with him after the match is done. Mark Perletta: But Osamu Hayashi can speak English. Landon Savage: After that fall, I’d be surprised if Osamu remembers his name, let alone a foreign language. Once Ben Murdock gets back into the ring, Steve O’Reily sets up a ladder, and RAGE immediately begins climbing it. Steve picks Katsuro Yoshida up off the mat and sets him up into a standing headscissors. Once Ben is in position, Steve lifts Katsuro up over his head into a powerbomb position, and then Murdock leaps off the ladder, assisting the powerbomb from O’Reily by hitting a modified neckbreaker on Katsuro Yoshida on the way to the mat. Mark Perletta: Total Domination from the ladder!! Crowd: Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit! Landon Savage: It looks like it’s going to be Domination’s match to win… Joey C: I wouldn’t count on it just yet! Coming in from behind him, Jared Walsh nails Steve O’Reily with an enzuigiri to the back of the head at the same time CJ Nelson drops RAGE Murdock with a clothesline from behind. Nelson and Walsh each grab a ladder laying near them. Jared sets his up as if it is meant to be climbed, and then CJ Nelson takes his and places the top of it on the third rung of Jared’s ladder, the bottom of his ladder on the third rung of the ladder Domination just used. The finished product looks like a capital “H”. Wasting as little time as possible, Nelson steps in and kicks Murdock in the face, then lifts him up off the mat into a standing head scissors, lifts him up into a powerbomb position with a little help from Jared Walsh and then SLAMS him down onto the horizontal ladder which is the middle cross-bar of the “H” setup. Not satisfied with doing that to just one of the members of Domination, CJ Nelson and Jared Walsh lift Steve O’Reily up off the mat, lifting him up into a gorilla press position. As they try to toss him onto Murdock, somehow Steve is able to put his feet against one of the vertical ladders, and he pushes himself off, breaking up the “H” ladder setup and propelling himself downwards into a clothesline that takes CJ Nelson off of his feet. O’Reily then grabs a stunned Jared Walsh and throws him backwards with an overhead belly to belly release suplex, sending Walsh down onto one of the ladders which lays on the mat. Mark Perletta: Now that Steve O’Reily has taken out Long Island Hardcore, he’s looking to go get that briefcase. He sets up a ladder, now, and he slowly starts climbing. Landon Savage: A big guy like that might take all day to climb up there. How much longer do we have feed for this pay per view? Mark Perletta: We’ve got extended coverage, so there’s no worries about getting cut short, though we’re not even an hour into the even yet, so I don’t think anyone’s worried. Joey C: You know who should be worried? Steve O’Reily, because he didn’t do enough to Jared Walsh to “take him out”, and now Jared Walsh is climbing up the opposite side of the ladder! Sensing that the match might be over very soon, Katsuro Yoshida forces himself to get up off the mat. He walks over, putting his hands on the side of the ladder, pushing as hard as he can with all the energy he’s got left. Before the ladder fully tips over, Steve O’Reily sees what’s about to transpire, and he starts to jump down from the ladder, minimizing the effects of the fall to the mat. Jared Walsh, however, isn’t as lucky. He doesn’t realize the ladder is falling until it starts gaining momentum, and he tries to hop off, but his feet hit the top rope, and although he balances for half of a second, he tumbles down and hits the mat. Using the ropes to help himself up off the mat, CJ Nelson steps in, grabs Katsuro by the head from behind, turns, and throws him over the top rope. Katsuro lands on his back onto the ring apron, but he doesn’t get right back up. As CJ Nelson walks over to try to pick up a ladder, Ben Murdock rejoins the action as he nails a haymaker that rocks Nelson back a step. As Nelson turns around, Murdock grabs CJ and lifts him up into a bearhug, squeezing the life out of him. As the Long Island Hardcore member tries to break free by using forearm shots to the face, Ben decides it’s more trouble than it’s worth, and he backs up towards the ropes and dumps CJ Nelson out of the ring between the middle and top rope. Mark Perletta: And now it looks like it’s down to just Domination. Joey C: Hey, Jared Walsh might be laid out on the mat, but he’s still in the ring at least! Taking a ladder, Steve O’Reily walks over to the corner and sets it horizontally across the top rope. Turning around, O’Reily yells something to Ben Murdock. Once he gets the call, Murdock grabs Jared Walsh and lifts him up off the match into a vertical suplex, holding him up there. Taking a few steps into the corner where Steve O’Reily just put the ladder across the top rope, Murdock drops Jared Walsh forwards, dropping him gut first onto the ladder. Steve O’Reily moves in and both he and Ben Murdock duck down underneath the ladder, grabbing rungs and lifting straight up, sending it off the top rope and down to the floor, sending Jared Walsh down with it. Mark Perletta: An interesting series of offensive moves there by Domination, and I’m not sure if Jared Walsh is going to be able to come back from that after taking a nasty spill to the outside! Joey C: Jared Walsh takes crazy spills all the time, half of them are because he goes for a high risk maneuver that doesn’t pay off. He’ll be back soon enough. Landon Savage: Ben Murdock is a little too pleased with his handywork, and he’s about to pay for it! As Ben Murdock turns around to see what his other opponents are doing, he’s drilled in the jaw with a superkick from Katsuro Yoshida that sends him out of the ring, falling in between the top rope and middle rope. Steve O’Reily had started across the ring, but when he sees what just happened to his tag team partner, he charges in and goes for a clothesline, but Katsuro Yoshida takes him down with a drop toe hold, sending O’Reily down, landing his neck right across the bottom rope. Choking, Steve O’Reily rolls over and heads out of the ring.
Landon Savage: Both Bushido Buntai members standing a bit too close to one another trying to get a strategy, and CJ Nelson makes them pay. Mark Perletta: Osamu Hayashi taken off his feet with that ladder clothesline. He’s holding his jaw, and looks like he could be hurt and hurt BAD. Joey C: And because of it, Katsuro looks worried about his tag team partner, checking in on him. Rising back up to his feet after checking in on his tag team partner, Katsuro Yoshida looks to get back into the match. As he does, Katsuro is met with a flying clothesline by Jared Walsh, who comes off the top rope, sending Yoshida backwards, between the top rope and the middle rope, and then down to the outside. Getting out onto the apron, Jared Walsh looks towards the ring. CJ Nelson moves to the center of the ring, still holding that ladder horizontally, and turning towards his partner, Nelson braces his legs in a strong stance. Mark Perletta: What is Jared Walsh… are you kidding me?! Jared Walsh hops up onto the top rope and springs off, landing his feet on the ladder held by Nelson six feet off the mat. Springing upwards, Walsh jumps vertically, reaching out with his arms. Getting a little extra boost from his tag team partner, Walsh reaches up… and grabs the briefcase hanging above the ring! Mark Perletta: Can you believe what Jared Walsh just did?! Landon Savage: Well he’s got a hold on the briefcase, but he hasn’t won the match until he unclasps it from the wire holding it up and hits the mat. As CJ Nelson sets the ladder up to try to help his tag team partner procure the briefcase, Steve O’Reily gets into the ring, grabs Nelson from behind and whips him backwards with a german release suplex. O’Reily gets up off the mat, mounts Nelson and starts hitting him with forearm shots. Ben Murdock gets into the ring and goes right at the ladder, climbing right up. Once Ben gets halfway up, the ladder, Jared Walsh sees him and starts to panic. Getting one foot on the ladder, Walsh stops trying to unhook the briefcase with the contract and he starts trying to kick the ladder over. Murdock grabs a hold onto Jared’s foot, keeping him from kicking, and Ben keeps climbing. Joey C: Ben Murdock getting close… yes, he’s now at the top of the ladder, and it’s no longer Jared Walsh’s match to win. Mark Perletta: With both Bushido Buntai members on the outside, it looks like it’s either going to be Domination or Long Island Hardcore getting that briefcase… Reaching up, Ben Murdock grabs on to Jared and tries to pull him down, but Walsh holds tight, not letting go of the briefcase. Ben decides to switch up his approach and he climbs up higher, trying to grab at the briefcase. Just as Murdock gets a hold onto the handle, Jared Walsh unclasps it, then grabs it tight into his arms. Murdock tries to rip it free, but he can’t wrench it away from his opponent. Reaching back with the hand not holding the briefcase, Ben Murdock fires in with a hard right hand that rocks Jared Walsh backwards. The Long Island Hardcore member starts to lose his balance, and a second right hand from Ben Murdock knocks Walsh backwards, though he doesn’t let go of the briefcase. Losing his balance because of the right hands from Murdock, Walsh falls to the side, going down to the mat, pulling Murdock off balance and pulling him down to the mat too, as Ben refuses to let go of the briefcase. Mark Perletta: Both men come crashing down off of that ladder, both men still holding on to the briefcase… so both men pulled the briefcase down, both men are still holding on to it down on the mat… Steve O’Reily gets up off of CJ Nelson and walks over, kicking Jared Walsh in the shoulder. A second kick is all the jarring Domination needs, and Ben Murdock is able to use the one hand he’s already got on the briefcase handle to rip it from Jared’s grasp. As soon as the referee sees Murdock holding the briefcase alone, he calls for the bell. Josephina Colbert: The winners of this match… Ben Murdock and Steve O’Reily… Domination!!! Getting up off the mat, Ben Murdock raises the briefcase into the air, Steve O’Reily stepping up and putting a hand on the briefcase. The referee moves in and officially raises the hands of both men, and once he lets go, RAGE and VENOM head over to the ropes and head out of the ring to meet up with Trent Logan on the outside. As the victorious trio walk up the ramp, they pass by a few EMTs who are headed down the ramp. Mark Perletta: Here come some of the medical officials on hand, and they’re headed right for Osamu Hayashi. Landon Savage: He took a hard shot to the jaw, and I don’t think he ever recovered from it. When a guy rolls out of the ring during the middle of a match, you know something’s not good. Backstage
With the hottest valet in LEGACY by his side, the No Limits Champion walks through the backstage area. Hannah Perez is holding a water bottle in one hand, Diego's hand in the other. In his free hand, Diego has a dufflebag, and over his shoulder is the No Limits Championship belt. As he walks past someone in the hall, he stops, does a double take, and then turns around to satisfy his curiousity. As the camera follows him, we spot Cronos Diamante talking to a man who, on second look, turns out to be Ami James. Both of his arms are covered in tattoos, and there’s one on the side of his neck. The body art comes as no surprise to anyone who recognizes Ami and his shaved bald head from the Miami Ink television show. Diego de Cardenas recognizes Ami James and stands there for a minute, not interrupting the conversation, though he stands there no more than a few seconds before Ami spots him standing there. Noticing that Ami’s attention has been diverted, Cronos turns around to see what’s going on. He spots Diego and locks eyes with him for a moment. Neither man says a word, so Cronos breaks the silence. Cronos Diamante: Evening, Diego. Even though we’ve never been formally introduced, it’s safe to say we've both been in LEGACY long enough to know who each other is, but I suppose I'd be rude not to introduce you to a friend of mine. Cronos eyes Diego for a moment then reluctantly turns back to Ami. Cronos Diamante: Ami, let me introduce you to Diego de Cardenas; resident No Limits Champion of Legacy. Diego this is Ami James from Miami Ink. Diego slowly nods his head. Diego de Cardenas: Yeah, I thought I recognized him. I’ve seen your work. Not bad, not bad at all. You letting this guy try to talk you into giving him a tattoo? Cronos Diamante: He has actually taken ink to me already. I’m proud to say he's done all of my stuff. Cronos lifts his "Honor Above All" shirt off his back to show the massive Crow on the middle of his chest, the tribal tattoo spanning the length of his left arm that starts at the wrist and ends at his neck, the Eye of Ra on his right forearm, the Kanji on the back of his neck, and the wings of Isis on his shoulder blades. Cronos Diamante: I have an Ankh on my right calf that you can't see but that's personal. Diego squints his eyes and Hannah looks slightly repulsed. Diego de Cardenas: No need to see that. I was wondering why you were here, since not only do you not have a match tonight, but you didn’t seem to win the one on the pre-show they gave you in consolation for not putting you on the show with the big boys, but I guess it looks like you’re hanging out with friends, maybe taking some pointers. Cronos chuckles and turns fully to Diego now. Cronos Diamante: I'm not going to start anything with you tonight, Diego, but lest you forget... you have a title match tonight. You can start talking when you beat Isaac. Until then don't trouble me with your antagonizining words. I won’t bite. Diego de Cardenas: I already beat him once, few weeks ago at the Jacksonville SuperCard. Just like everybody else, I guess that wasn’t good enough for you. Don’t worry, though, I’ll do it again tonight. Diego turns to Ami James. Diego de Cardenas: And maybe before I leave Miami, I’ll give you a call about maybe giving you a higher profile client by letting you put some ink on me. I’m thinking maybe having a list of names of the guys I’ve beaten with the No Limits Title on the line. He turns back to Cronos. Diego de Cardenas: Don’t worry, we won’t put your name on there just yet, but we’ll be sure to leave some room. Cronos looks over the shoulder of Diego de Cardenas and notices his good friend Voodoo who came to Miami with him for the PPV walk up beside Diego. Voodoo: Hey Ami. Hey Birdie-boy. There a problem here? Cronos Diamante shrugs his shoulders. Cronos Diamante: I don't know, Vood. Is there a problem, Diego? Diego looks over at the former LEGACY superstar sporting a Bio-Hazard tattoo and his signature minor league hockey jersey, then looks back at Cronos. Diego de Cardenas: No, no problem here. I was just about to finish getting ready for my match. C’mon, Hannah. Diego and Hannah turn and walk off, leaving Cronos, Ami James, and Voodoo to continue their conversation. The camera cuts back to the announce table at the ringside area. Mark Perletta: The action has been amazing so far, and we've got more still to come! Lancon Savage: That's right, we've still got the “Submissions Only” match for the Tao of Valor Championship, right now! The shot goes to Josephina Colbert, standing in the ring. Tao of Valor Championship
Submission Match Ron Bailey vs Strong Style Dragon ©
Josephina Colbert: The following match is for the Tao of Valor Championship and can only be won via submission!! Introducing first... Wu tang Clan's "Severe Punishment" kicks up, and the fans begin to boo Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at 244 pounds... "The Sure Thing"... Ron... Bailey!! As Ron Bailey steps through the curtain wearing an orange dress shirt, tucked into a pair of navy blue suit pants, the booing increases a few notches. Bailey smirks casually at the fans as he makes his way down the ramp. Mark Perletta: Here comes the challenger, hoping that the second time's a charm, as he was unable to defeat Dragon the last time they met, back at STRIFE 21. Landon Savage: Well he sure looks confident, and since he's going into a submissions match against a guy with a hurt neck, I can see why he would be. Ron Bailey steps through the ropes and starts unbuttoning his shirt before peeling off the suit pants. Underneath he wears a pair of orange and blue biker tights. "Severe Punishment" fades out before "Side of a Bullet" by Nickelback hits, and the fans start a slow clap, building their excitement level. Josephina Colbert: And his opponent... coming to LEGACY after a tour of Japan... weighing 176 pounds... he is the REIGNING and DEFENDING Tao of Valor Champion... he is the STRONG... STYLE... DRAGON! The Strong Style Dragon steps through the curtain, his silver mask with the black etchings and horns on it covering his glaring face. His baggy silver shorts have swirling black dragons on them, and his kickpads are a glossy black as he marches down the ramp, raising the Tao of Valor Championship high above his head. Mark Perletta: In his tenure here in LEGACY, Strong Style Dragon has built himself a following through his exciting matches and his never say die attitude. Landon Savage: I'm a bit surprised that he's gained as many fans as he has without really even talking that much, but when he does open his mouth, his intensity does come out. The Strong Style Dragon slides under the bottom rope and raises his belt in the air before handing it off to the referee, never taking his eyes off of Ron Bailey. Josephina gets out of the ring and the bell sounds. The Strong Style Dragon immediately comes out of his corner and snaps into Ron bailey with a lock up, pulling him quickly into a headlock. Joey C: The Strong Style Dragon is coming out with intensity tonight, and he'd better be careful, because if Dragon tries to get too intense, Ron Bailey's going to make him pay for it. Mark Perletta: I would guess that whenever he finds an opening, Ron Bailey is going to attack that neck. Bailey shoves the Dragon off into the ropes. Bailey snaps straight up and rushes Dragon as he comes off the ropes, nailing him in the chin with a high elbow! Bailey glares down at Dragon and then hits the ropes. Dragon quickly nips up to his feet and catches Bailey as he comes running off the ropes with a jumping calf kick! Mark Perletta: Strong Style Dragon is using his quickness to keep Bailey off his game, perhaps. Joey C: That's what he's going to have to do. Dragon gets to his feet quickly and rushes the ropes as Bailey scrambles to his feet. Bailey quickly leap frogs up and over the running Strong Style Dragon, and turns around to catch Dragon for a back body drop. Bailey launches Dragon high into the air, but Dragon lands on his feet and keeps running! Landon Savage: Did you see that?! He didn't even miss a step! Mark Perletta: Looks like Dragon is going to try to capitalize on Bailey's surprise... Dragon immediately springs onto the middle rope and turns in mid-spring, landing with his legs on Bailey's shoulders, snapping him over with a hurricanrana that spills him through the ropes to the outside! Joey C: I don't really care how flashy he is, how is this going to help him win a submission match against the likes of Ron Bailey? Mark Perletta: The more worn down Ron Bailey is, the easier it's going to be for Dragon to put him in a submission hold. Dragon quickly gets to his feet as Bailey recovers from the dizzying effects of the hurricanrana. Dragon grabs the top rope and slingshots himself up to land with his feet on it before springing off and throwing himself through the air with a shooting star press, onto Ron Bailey on the outside! Mark Perletta: How can you not be impressed by his athleticism, Joey? Joey C: I'm a tough critic, I demand perfection, what can I say? Strong Style Dragon gets to his feet firs, before pulling Bailey to his feet as well. Dragon starts to whip Bailey into the guard rail, but Bailey reverses the whip! Dragon ducks under Bailey's arm to reverse the momentum of the reversal and kicks his left foot up to break the grip of Baiely's hand on his wrist, before planting his left foot and spinning backwards to deliver a reverse roundhouse kick to Bailey's sternum! Bailey staggers back! Dragon quickly leaps onto the ring apron and springs onto the second rope, leaping backward with an Asai moonsault! Landon Savage: Look at how smooth and fluid he is in the air! Mark Perletta: A beautiful move, but Ron Bailey sees it coming... Bailey side steps to avoid contact this time, and Dragon manages to correct himself and gets his feet on the ground. But Bailey quickly grabs him by the back of the mask and the back of his shorts and hurls him into the side of the ring, making sure the back of his neck collides with the ring apron! Joey C: And look how quickly Ron Bailey cuts him off! Ha! Bailey picks Dragon up off of the arena floor and throws him under the bottom rope into the ring. Bailey slides into the ring and hooks Dragon from the front with a front facelock. Mark Perletta: With as bad as the champion's neck is still, and the impact it took against the side of the ring, its very likely we'll see this thing end sooner rather than later if Bailey keeps locking on holds like this! Bailey quickly loses his temper and patience, waiting for Dragon to tap, and starts driving knees onto the top of his masked skull! Three knees from each leg collide into Dragon's head, one after the other, before Bailey releases the hold and quickly drops his right elbow across the back of Dragon's neck! Landon Savage: Bailey is just picking apart the Strong Style Dragon's neck! Bailey curls his right arm under Dragon's chin, and curls his left arm over the back of Dragon's head, llocking his fingers together with a grounded version of the royal cravate. Bailey leans back, twisting Dragon's head to the side, and pulling back on his neckk! Joey C: Go ahead and tap, Dragon! prove that you don't deserve that title! The Strong Style Dragon tucks his knees under himself, struggling to keep the pain from forcing him to tap. Dragon quickly pushes off his knees, rolling forward onto his back, relieving much of the pressure, before driving a kick into the side of Baiely's head from his back! Bailey releases the hold with a cringe. Dragon gets to his feet, cradling his neck with his left hand, and Bailey quickly turns his attenck to the champion, thrusting a boot into his abdomen! Mark Perletta: Dragon really needs to mount something to keep Bailey from absolutely dominating from here on out! Baiely sends Dragon off the ropes and swings a clothesline on the rebound! Dragon narrowly ducks the swinging right arm, and catches Bailey by the left wrist as he passes! Dragon spins Bailey around then twists under the arm, quickly driving his elbow down on Bailey's left shoulder, taking him down suddenly into a Fujiwara armbar! Landon Savage: You mean like that? Because if he can keep Bailey grounded, he can keep his neck from taking more punishment! Bailey squirms and squirms before finally getting his left foot on the bottom rope. Dragon is forced to break, and does so without complaint, before turning back to Bailey. Bailey is up to his knees and quickly catches Dragon by the front of his shorts, falling backward he pulls Dragon with him, spilling Dragon through the ropes to the outside once more! Joey C: There you go, keep that creepy reptile at bay, Ron! Rob Bailey follows the Dragon to the outside quickly, and raises him off the floor, slamming his forehead off of the ring apron! Dragon stumbles back to the guard rail, and Bailey follows, delivering a hard forearm to the side of Dragon's head! Bailey follows up immediately by driving Dragon's forehead down on top of the guard rail as well! Dragon drops to his back after the collission and slowly starts crawling, making his way to the ringpost. Dragon uses the ringpost to pull himself to his feet. Mark Perletta: Ron Bailey looks like he has bad intentions on his mind right now! The expression on Bailey's face tells the story as he sees Dragon leaning, with his back now, on the ringpost. Bailey rushes Dragon, looking for a left handed lariat to sandwich Dragon's skull with the ringpost! Dragon quickly ducks out of the way, and Bailey drives his shoulder dangerously into the unforgiving ringpost! Landon Savage: But it didn't work out so well for him! This could be the opening the Strong Style Dragon needs to retain his title and get his second token! Bailey clutches his left shoulder, visibly wincing in pain. Dragon spots the wounded Bailey and rushes him without hesitation. Bailey quickly side steps, using his right arm on the back of Dragon's head to drive Dragon's head right into the security barricade! Joey C: He's still got his wits about him, though, thankfully! Bailey tries desparately to get feeling back in his left arm, as Dragon lies on the arena floor, clutching his neck and head with both hands. Ron Bailey picks up the Strong Style Dragon and rolls him into the ring, keeping his left arm close to his torso. Bailey sits Dragon up and quickly locks both legs around Dragon's head and neck, figure-fouring his legs to reate a triangle lock around Dragon's head! Mark Perletta: This is a smart strategy by the challenger. Hell keep from using his obviously badly injured left arm, while still applying an incredibly effective hold on the champion! Dragon claws at Bailey's legs, trying to find a weak spot in the hold. Dragon manages to turn over onto his side, pulling Bailey over with him. Dragon suddenly gets to his stomach and plants his toes on the canvas! Landon Savage: Could he be figuring out an escape? Joey C: No way, he's not that smart! Dragon pushes off his toes, rolling over Bailey's back, escaping the hold and landing with his knee on the back of Bailey's left arm! Bailey struggles to keep his wrist out of Dragon's clutches to keep him from securing a hold of his own! Bailey quickly spins to his back and thrusts his right palm into Dragon's throat! Joey C: Ron Bailey does NOT look happy about losing to Strong Style Dragon, and Dragon's lucky that he left the ring before Ron got up, or else we'd have ourselves a repeat of what happened a few weeks ago. Landon Savage: For some reason, Joey, I think you're right. I don't know when the next time it going to be that Ron Bailey gets a chance to step into the ring with Strong Style Dragon, but I'm sure he'd like to get back in the ring with him right now if he could. Mark Perletta: I'm guessing he'll have to wait through at least another couple of competitors before he gets another shot at the Tao of Valor Championship. |
