We had a pair of Thursday games last night, and first up was The Misfires taking on Loudoun Obnoxious. Loudoun Obnoxious led through most of regulation, but the Misfires were able to get within one goal, with Jeff Mrowka scoring twice in the final minutes of the game. Ultimately, it would be Dave Goldberg’s third period, power play goal that would be the game winner for Loudoun Obnoxious. The final score was Obnoxious: 5, Misfires: 4. The second game was a one-sided tilt, as the Loudoun 57’s improved to 7-0 on the season. They completed the sweep of the Outlaws, picking up a 12-0 victory. The highlight of the game was a goalie split between Sam Kukulich and Jon Cassady. Sam played the first period in goal, turning away every shot, while Cassady would score his first official LSHL goal, before jumping back in net in the second period. Cassady completed the perfect game for the 57’s, not allowing a single goal!
