The Awards

The footage switches to an establishing shot of the entire auditorium, likely from a balcony. Dozens of round tables are setup with chairs on one side, all facing the stage at the far end of the room. At this point, the chairs are filled, and as the house lights dim, the spotlight shines down on a portion of the stage, and as a classical selection from Rachmoninov begins to play, Alan Ducard walks out onto the stage and approaches the lecturn.

Alan Ducard: I'd like to welcome you all to the 2009 End of Year Awards. Throughout the night, I and a few others will be announcing the winners and the runners up of several awards as voted by a combination of the LEGACY roster, staff and fans. In addition, there are a few other awards which were decided solely by the fans, and a couple others which were decided by the LEGACY front office. Without any further adieu, let's get to the first award.

Breakout Star of the Year

The instrumental version of the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't 'Cha?" begins to play and as Alan Ducard walks off stage, Josephina Colbert walks out in a blue evening gown, and male jaws drop. As she saunters out to the lecturn, there are a few whistles to be heard, and she smiles in response. Getting to the announce spot, the camera zooms in on the lovely ring announcer, the shot staying just wide enough to allow a great view at her ample cleavage.

Josephina Colbert: Our first award of the evening is for the competitor who had a breakout year in LEGACY in 2009. It was a very TIGHT vote, coming down to the last couple votes.... and the runner-up is former Tao of Valor Champion and LEGACY's first female competitor - Laura Seton.

The broadcast shows Laura Seton at her table, and then we switch back to a view of Josephina at the presentation lecturn.

Josephina Colbert: Some of us were pulling for you, Laura, and even though you didn't win, we're still way proud of you. Now for the award... the fans have spoken, and the Breakout Star of the Year is the current F/X Network Champion... HAZARD.

Hazard makes his way to the stage in not-quite-formal attire. The shoes are simple black slip-on Skechers with a buckle on the side. His jeans are typical of something you'd see at American Eagle or Buckle - designed to look somewhat worn. He has on a dark grey t-shirt with a red eagle and the words "Carpe Diem" across the chest, and a black casual sports coat with white pinstripes widely spaced. He also has the FX Network title with him, and places it on the podium in front of him as he picks up the trophy.

Hazard: I'll be honest, it feels a little funny to be standing in front of a group of my peers and accepting an award for being a Breakout Star when I've been around for nearly fourteen years now. In other ways, though, it seems absolutely fitting. I broke into this business as a kid. I was barely old enough to drive, and teachers asked more than a few questions when a junior in high school shows up every Monday morning with fresh bruises and stitches. My part time job was putting up rings, selling t-shirts, tearing down rings, and somewhere in the middle, getting roughed up by guys that were too old for the big time but still a hell of a lot tougher than me. I got stretched, I bled a lot, I limped more days than I didn't, but I loved what I was doing.

Hazard looks down at the award again and chuckles to himself before continuing.

Hazard: In 1996, everything was about being hardcore in this business. Maiming yourself, pushing the threshold of the human body, then telling stories about the scars. I wasn't any exception. Just like the boys in Philly and New Jersey and on the west coast, I was getting tangled up in barbed wire, crashing through tables, and leaving my DNA up and down the east coast with guys just as crazy and desperate for a break as I was. I eventually bled enough to find a home and make a living. I'm not going to name drop and I'm not going to recap my entire career for you, but I feel it's worth mentioning that I was a top guy for one promotion and the flag bearer for another. A lot of you guys hear me mention FCW, and with no disrespect to LEGACY at all, it was where I did my best work.

Hazard: When FCW closed its doors for good, I was proud of what I had done - I had bled, suffered, and worked to make it the most it could be. My reward was being unemployed. I cut back my schedule, traveled, and learned new ways of doing things. Then I got a call from a friend. Someone who was mutually acquainted with Marcus Marion. He thought I could fit in here. He thought I should lace up the boots full time again. I had my hesitations, but looking back, it was the best decision of my career.

Hazard places the award on the podium in front of the Network Championship belt

Hazard: In one of my first promos here, I mentioned how somebody had asked me for an autograph because they saw me wrestle, not because they saw me disfigure myself. It was a different experience for me. Now? Less than a year later, I'm the guy responsible - for the time being, at least - for representing LEGACY on the F/X Network. If LEGACY is on, I'm the example to the world, responsible for showing them what we're all about. And while maybe a prick like Matthew Dawson doesn't think that's important...I can't think of a better way to continue this coming out party.

Hazard picks up the title belt and drapes it over his left shoulder, lifting the award to just above shoulder height with his right hand.

Hazard: Believe me when I tell you, though, I'm only getting started.

As Hazard exits the stage, the camera shows Frank Garvin at his table - Tabitha sitting next to him. Garvin looks proud of Hazard, though there's certainly something eerie about the look in his eyes. When the camera goes back to the stage, we watch as John Thomas walks out from the side of the stage with the beginning to the jazzy remix of "Hey Man Nice Shot" by Filter playing. Not looking pleased to be there, John walks up to the lecturn nevertheless.

John Thomas: Because my HOT girlfriend Anastasia forgot to confirm with me that I was actually going to show up to a "scheduled" interview, I get the "pleasure" of announcing the next award - Non-Wrestler Personality of the Year.

Non-Wrestler Personality of the Year

John Thomas: This award was an award which was given out by the front office - making our owner and front office representatives out of the running... not that any of them should've won anyway. The runner up for Non-Wrestler Personality of the Year goes to a guy who might want to look into getting a different job since he's still being called an INTERN around here... Avery George - you're second place.

Switching to a view of Avery at a table with a couple of the road agents, the Intern looks completely shocked and happy. After a moment to watch his reaction - you'd think Avery had won the award - we then switch back to a view of the lecturn.

John Thomas: The winner of this award is a man who you hear from every time LEGACY is on the air... he's my favorite announcer to listen to - not just because he's a fan of mine... folks, the winner of this award - the Non-Wrestler Personality of the Year -Bryan Harris!

Bryan Harris gets up, and walks to the podium.

Bryan Harris: Thanks JT. Well... Josephina? I have two of these now, and I'm more than willing to share! I mean, one time, is impressive, but detractors *coughcough*YATES*cough* could have painted it as a been a fluke. Two?! I guess that makes it official. I will take this award and continue to carry my announce team and be the greatest out of ring personality this company has ever employed... Josephina will just have to settle for being the "hottest".

Bry blows a kiss her direction, and we see her squirm in her chair uncomfortably.

Bryan Harris: In 2010, maybe LEGACY can resolve to have some smaller outfits on the females it employs... Some of us get tired of the guys being in smaller outfits than our ladies.

Raising his award, Harris then walks off. When Bryan Harris leaves, road agent Carter Franklin walks out onto the stage with some "Satellite" by Dave Matthews Band playing, fading out when he reaches the lecturn.

Carter Franklin: Hey folks, hope your evening's goin' alright so far. I'm out here to present an award for a night RUINER - the award for Most Effective "Finisher" of the Year.

Most Effective "Finisher" of the Year

Carter Franklin: It's tough to say that there's anything I'd rather get hit with than Loco Martinez's LOCapitator - which was voted the second most effective "Finisher" as voted...

A quick view of Loco Martinez, smirking, and then back to the presenter.

Carter Franklin: But given my option, I'd sure like to avoid the move which won this award - and the man dishing it out... The Most Effective "Finisher" of 2009 is Issac Entragian's DISEMBOWLER!

The lights dim and a screen lowers below the road agent as he leaves the stage, and clips begin to play, showing various individuals get absolutely dominated by Issac Entragian's brutal maneuvre, undoubtedly cracking ribs and leaving his opponents in a crumpled heap on the mat. When the clips end, the lights fade back up and we see Issac Entragian sitting at his table, a sick smirk on his face.

Switching back to a view of the stage, Preston Thompkins walks out onto the stage. His old, rotund frame keeps his pace slow as some Buddy Holly guitar sweetness plays over the speakers. When he finally reaches the lecturn, Preston takes out an envelope from his suit jacket and holds it out in front of himself, looks out onto the masses, then clears his throat and looks down.

Preston Thompkins: I've seen a lot of things in my many years in this business, which is prob'ly why they wanted me to present the award for the shocking moment of 2009.

Biggest Surprise of 2009

Preston Thompkins: A lot of the things we saw this year I enjoyed seeing - and knowing our owner like I do, maybe I wasn't as surprised as some people were when Cade Sydal showed up in LEGACY... or maybe I saw the strength of heart in Patrick Kidd, so I knew he'd do whatever it would take to get into the ring... both of those events were highly voted by y'all wrasslers and fans of LEGACY... but neither one was the top two - both of which confused and surprised me a bit. Now I will tell y'all that I don't necessarily sit aroun' watchin' all the competition out there, so I'm not always up on who the guys are in other companies, but some guys... they reputation preceeds themselves, and while I know our owner likes ratings, i know he likes to draw lines on what he'll allow to happen... which is why I'm a lil' surprised - just like y'all were in voting this to be the the runner-up... I did not ever think that KENJI YAMADA would show up in LEGACY like he did.

As Preston shakes his head in continued disbelief, we see a view of Kenji Yamada who isn't showing much reaction at all.

Preston Thompkins: I've seen friends turn on friends before, but some guys I figured were cohesive and would never hate on eah other... but the voters were right, and shockin' moment of the 2009 was definitely when Greyson Blade gone and gave a KILLSHOT to Patrick Kidd just days ago.

The lights dim and the video screen again comes down and we see footage from DARKEST DAYS.

Kidd hearing Blade and seeing the hand, slaps Blade's hand away, and proceeds to push Greyson away from him with some significant force behind it. The Outlaw's eyes flash in anger and he turns away heading to the ropes. However, upon reaching the ropes, he slowly turns - his body almost now shaking with anger.

Jimmy Yates: Oh God ... No ... he can't do this...

Bryan Harris: Oh he's going to Jimbo...

Alan Ducard: He wouldn't do this to Kidd in their first match in LEGACY.

Jimmy Yates: Come on Greyson, come on not like this...

The fans rise up with this weird mix of surprise, cheers, boos - it's almost an incredulous reaction as The Outlaw zeros in on his target and then in a flash The Outlaw rockets across the ring and hits the 2008 finisher of the year, unleashing a devastating force that seems to break his friend - his brother in half! Kidd crashes into the canvas, his body spasms from the impact. A loud gasp of surprise is heard as the move hits, and then in the aftermath there is nothing but stunned silence from the Boston crowd.

Jimmy Yates: Oh ... my ... God ... I can't believe he actually ... did it.

Alan Ducard: He just ripped Kidd in half with that Killshot.

At the top of the rampway, Adam Davis and Ledge witnessed everything that happened– at first they were shocked as everyone else, but now they stand smiling and clapping at the top of the rampway.

The Outlaw stands looking down over Kidd’s body – the anger is still coursing through him, the adrenaline is still flowing, but in his eyes there is just a hint of ... sadness.

Jimmy Yates: This crowd isn’t sure how to react – and I’m not sure I know what to say either … The Outlaw is walking away and...

Bryan Harris: He got pushed too far Jimbo … that’s all I can think ... Blade's family is so important to him, to be put in this situation has been tearing him apart from the inside out - and tonight we saw him snap.

The Outlaw exits the ring and stalks up the rampway as if he has blinders on until he reaches the top - he turns for a moment to look back to the ring, shakes his head before exiting between the still clapping and supportive VIP, leaving and entire arena flabbergasted and the future of his family in doubt.

As the video package showing what happened at Darkest Days ends we hear some commotion as Patrick Kidd approaches the stage and walks to the podium. It doesn't look as if they were expecting anyone to accept the award so the crowd and stagehands seem a bit shocked as Kidd gets ready to make a speech.

Kidd: What they didn't expect anyone to come up and accept this great award?

Kidd stops, shaking his head in mock disbelief.

Kidd: I figured Greyson would have beat me to the stage to get another award to put on his shelf next to all those gold belts. Although maybe like me, he didn't know they gave awards for stabbing people in the back.

The camera pans to Greyson who is flanked by Davis and Ledge. Looks none too happy about what Kidd's doing and he glares at Patrick, while Ledge is making faces at Kidd with his fists under his eyes making the crybaby gesture.

Kidd: I have to admit I'm not really up here to accept this award. I simply had something to say. Something to get off my chest, and we can call it words of wisdom to those of you out there who have only spent a few years in the business so far.

The camera pans back to Greyson as Ledge is offering to move out of the way if Greyson wants to get up, but Greyson is focused on what Kidd has to say.

Kidd: If you stay in this business long enough you end up having to make a choice. That choice is between family and friends or the business. At Darkest Days Greyson made his choice. I spent the next week pondering my actions and his and the choice Greyson made and how it would affect mine. Before coming here tonight I spoke to Mr. Belote personally, I too have made my choice.

A sad look comes over Kidd's face as he lowers his head a turns and walks away. A camera once again goes back to Greyson whose face has turned red with anger. We see Adam Davis look at Ledge and give a slight nod which Ledge returns with a devilish smile as we return back to the podium to hear the nominees for the next award. Instead of a presenter, though, the lights dim and the screen lights up again, and the name of the next award appears in gold.

Best Event of 2009

Almost like a slot machine, the four pay per view event logos flash one after the other in rapid succession, starting quickly, then slowing down. As it nears a stopping point, the Darkest Days logo appears on the screen, stays there for a moment and the words "Runner-Up" appears before fading out, then the logos stop moving on the final one.

"Event of the Year"

As the logo fades out, a video clip of Loco Martinez fades in, and he begins sharing his rememberences from the event.

Loco Martinez: Destined for Greatness was a great night for me. I got rid of a nuisance. A "hanger on", who didn't belong inside Legacy. I made my first step towards eradicating the worthless huddled masses who are desperately hanging onto the Legacy Teet. Stealing the spotlight from those TRULY deserving. I sent a message that night. And if Legacy doesn't want to continue to see "its heroes and heroines" destroyed? They better put me back in my rightful spot. Destined for Greatness? SH<eep>T... I AM GREATNESS. This match was just me reminding the world EXACTLY what Loco Martinez is capable of.

We fade out from Loco, and we fade in on a new clip of the current No Limits Champion, Thomas Manchester Black.

Thomas Manchester Black: DFG was all business for me. I was asked to once again show why I am who I am. I was asked to show the difference between a wrestler and some guys who are just here to sell some shirts. If by DFG they didn't know who TMB was. You can beat your ass that afterwards they did.

Reflecting for a moment, TMB then continues.

TMB: Some say I should be upset because I wasn't on the main show. Heh...I don't blame Rob for not including me. Some people lack the foresight. I bet you, if he had to do it again....he might have booked a little differently.

When TMB is done talking, the footage transitions into some words from former No Limits Champion - Crazy Boy.

Crazy Boy: Destined for Greatness 2009 was a PPV for the ages. From top to bottom, the card was stacked with incredible action and breathless moments that can only be seen in a Legacy ring.

Crazy Boy closes his eyes, letting the moments sink in as he smiles, nodding his head.

CB: From Laura Seton retaining the Tao of Valor Championship to Issac Entragian starting the "Age of Darkness" when he beat X-Calibur to win the Legacy World Championship, there was not a dull moment on that particular PPV. And I can say, that although the outcome of my match was not what was expected out of me, I was proud to be part of that PPV.

Tyrone opens his eye back up, smiling from ear to ear, as he leans in closer to the camera.

CB: Destined for Greatness 2009 was definately worthy of Pay Per View of the year for the year 2009, and in arguments sake, it could quite possibly be one of the greatest Pay Per Views in Legacy history, and believe me, I've been part of a lot of them.

Crazy Boy stands up from the chair and walks away from the camera, but not before saying one last thing.

CB: I could not be prouder of being a member of the Legacy roster right now.

We switch from the pleasant look of Crazy Boy, switching to a much different look from the current World Champion, Issac Entragian.

The Pale Rider: Mm. Destined for Greatness. It was LEGACY’s magnum opus, the type of setting where dreams were made and paths were forged.

He grins an evil grin, his eyes softly closing.

The Pale Rider: What do I remember about Destined for Greatness? I remember drilling X-Calibur into my knee with The Disemboweler, and I remember crawling through the blood and the sweat towards a pinfall, and more importantly, towards my destiny.

Lifting the World Championship off his lap, he gazes at it as he continues.

The Pale Rider: DFG will always hold significance for me, it was the great stage that yielded the rebirth of the Age of Entragian, and it left me with the highest glory this industry can bestow on a competitor, The World Heavyweight Championship.

Issac turns his attention back on the camera.

The Pale Rider: Destined for Greatness cemented me as one of LEGACY’s best and brightest stars, and I’ll be forever grateful to have gotten the opportunity to dissect a legend on LEGACY’s crown jewel Pay Per View event.

As the video ends, the lights fade back up and the audience claps out of appreciation for the event, and the cheering increases a bit as "Intern" Avery George walks out onto the stage. Slightly embarrassed by the show of love, Avery stumbles a little bit and blushes, then finally makes it to the lecturn.

Intern Avery George: I'm not sure what I did to deserve that applause...

His eyes get wide as something occurs to him, and Avery quickly does a 180 spin and his hands drop down near his waist and he looks down. After a moment, he turns around and wipes some sweat from his brow.

Intern Avery George: Sorry about that, I thought maybe I had a zipper malfunction... which I ASSURE YOU has NOTHING to do with the fact that Josephina Colbert had some nice words for me backstage just now!

The comment gets a response of laughter from the crowd, and Avery nervously looks side to side, a bit nervous, but less tense.

Intern Avery George: In case you hadn't guessed, I'm out here to announce the next award, which sadly doesn't have one of those neat-o video clip thingers to go with it. But it WILL involve not just one competitor winner - but TWO competitors... as we get Tag Team of The Year!

Best Tag Team of 2009

Intern Avery George: A quick story I wanted to share with all of you... I was told that I should speak my mind a little bit more, so I'm just going to say it: I think the wrong team won this award. Domination had a GREAT reign with the tag team championships, and they should've been the ones accepting this award... but alas, they were the runners up...

In the crowd, Ben Murdock and Steve O'Reily don't look too pleased to be the runners up, but Trent Logan whispers something to them and they give an understanding nod.

Intern Avery George: Hopefully because they're nice guys, they'll have my back in case the winners decide they don't like what I just said... and not to take the focus off the winners of this award or defranchise any voters... the winners of this award for Best Tag Team of 2009 - The AGENTS of DESTINY!

Once the announcement is made, we center on the table of the Agents of Destiny. Lucien Gray stands up proudly, and Osamu rises beside him, straightening the tie of his tailor made suit. Diamante rises, clapping Lucien on the back and saying “go for it big man”, and with a firm handshake, both Hayashi and Gray make their way towards the stage, with Cronos applauding at the table.

Lucien steps towards the podium, decked out in charcoal gray suit which matches the color of his mask perfectly. Osamu takes hold of the award, and raises it towards the ceiling, a brilliant smile on his face. Gray nods approvingly, and then leans over the podium, his words issuing from the grill of his mask, words that come straight from his dark heart.

Lucien Gray: You know, it’s funny how far The Agents have come this past year. I was there when it all started, I was there when a man named Marcus Mirage extended his hand to me, and together we rose to power. In the beginning we were simply Mirage & Lucien Gray, but then things changed, fate intervened and Mirage’s brilliance sparked a movement. That movement grew, and it became something incredible…

Lucien pauses, looking at Hayashi, who pats the big man on the shoulder and nods approvingly.

Lucien Gray: Destiny was our goal, and we became her Agents. We expanded, we grew, we became one of the most successful groups LEGACY has ever seen. First to join us was Osamu Hayashi, a man who lives and breathes talent, and might I add he is also the LEGACY International Champion!

Lucien leans back and claps, and Osamu smirks, actually taking a bow.

Lucien Gray: Then came a wildcard, a veteran of the game, a man I am PROUD to stand with, a man who deserves to be held on a pedestal within the hierarchy of The Agents. That individual is Cronos Diamante, go ahead and stand up Cronos, let these people get a look at “All Day”!

Diamante obliges at his table in the crowd, very satisfied to be recognized as he tips a little salute to his comrades on stage.

Lucien Gray: These men are my brothers, and together we function as a wheel, a wheel that runs through this company, weaving destruction and reaping success. You may notice we are missing one of our number tonight, the figurehead of our movement, Marcus Mirage, was brutalized at Darkest Days and he is still recovering from his injuries.

Gray casts his gaze out into the crowd, and his eyes are baleful from the shadows of his mask, his voice choked with emotion.

Lucien Gray: It’s a damned shame Marcus can’t be up here tonight to share this moment with us, and I think I speak for all of The Agents when I say I dedicate this award to Marcus Mirage, without him this powerhouse group never would have been formed, and personally I’ll be indebted to the man forever.

Lucien lowers his head, his black hair falling against his mask, and he leans down and grips the sides of the podium.

Lucien Gray: I know that the parties involved in Marcus’s fall are in attendance here tonight, and I want you to know, sincerely, that you will pay for what you’ve done. All debts get paid in the end, and you’ll pay…

Osamu moves forward and claps Lucien on the back, casting his gaze through the crowd no doubt marking a certain individual who did the damage at Darkest Days.

Osamu Hayashi: I can’t put it much better than Lucien did folks, all I can say is that if you think The Agents ruled the roost in 2009, you haven’t seen anything yet, because 2010 we take things to a whole new level.

The cameras follow as two of the members of the Agents of Destiny leave the stage, returning to their seats. Walking out to the lecturn is LEGACY's top backstage interviewer Andrew Kelley, wearing a deep forest green suit with a black tie.

Andrew Kelley: Once upon a time, believe it or not, I was known as a young talent with tons of potential - not to wrestle, but in the world of investigative journalism - so I know a little something about being on a "Who to Watch" list. Tonight, I have the distinct pleasure of presenting the award for "Tag Team to Watch in 2010".

Tag Team to Watch in 2010

Andrew Kelley: As an employee of Rob Belote's for the past few years, I've had quite a few opportunities to speak with our esteemed boss, and several of our conversations have lead to my increased appreciation of tag team wrestling. Looking at things from a slightly different perspective now, I can really say that I'm highly anticipating what Tres Bien can bring to LEGACY in 2010, and as they were a very close 2nd place in the voting, I'd have to say that you all seem to agree.

The footage quickly shows Shinya and Maya sitting at a table - just the two of them - before returning back to a view of the award's presenter.

Andrew Kelley: The winners of this award... I don't like how they do things, I don't like their attitudes that much, but they're undoubtedly focused and talented... the winners of Tag Team To Watch in 2010 are Adam Davis... Ledge... The V.I.P.

A small video package begins, backed by the track "In One Ear" by Cage The Elephant. It has the typical VIP style, multiple cuts, some grainy black and white footage where only one person or object is in color, and of course lots of violence.

Adam Davis and Nick Ledgerwood stand, shoot their guest at their table a knowing smile, and slowly walk up to the stage and get behind the podium. Ledge begins talking while Davis chomps on his gum.

Ledge: You know, I would be lying if I came up here and feigned shock. I even considered doing the whole "they really love me!" spiel ala Sally Fields, but the truth is, we knew we were going to get this award. No other tag team has put a visceral stamp on Legacy as what the VIP has done. Hell, we barely wrestle in tag matches, but we still have some of you scared and wondering just the lengths we could go.

Davis steps into the mic, but first grabs his gum and just tosses it into the crowd, conveniently at the general direction of Patrick Kidd's table.

Davis: In a lot of ways, we feel we are above his award tonight. When you hear "tag team to watch" you think of two guys handicapped to just making moves and waves through the outlet of wrestling matches as a tandem. We go beyond that. To improve this flaccid, delusional company, we are willing to use whatever discourse is needed. Be it in a singles match.. Be it in a tag match..

Ledge: ..Or be it in the back with some of our trusty mallets.

Davis: We KNOW we have this company by the balls.. No not that kind Nick.

Ledge puts up his hands trying to show innocence and smiles.

Davis: But while we are here, being honored for an award that can't full give us the credit we deserve, we might as well get our other, more fitting award speech out of the way.

A few murmurs from the crowd begins as Davis reaches under the podium and pulls out what appears to be a chess trophy that has been modified. Ledge kisses the trophy like NFL players do the Lombardi.

Ledge: We finally made it! I am not sure who all I should thank for this prestigious award, but you guy shave no idea how great it is to win the first ever "Best Strategic Move Outside of The Ring!" We put in a lot of effort for this, but the truth is, we could have NEVER done it without you big guy.

A spotlight goes back to their table and on Greyson Blade.

Davis: Not only are we not strong enough to finally take down some of the drama queens and political kings, but this award cements us for the brilliant minds we are. It is a great feeling of accomplishment to lure your precious hero away from you.

Ledge: Thank god he finally saw the light and realize what kind of trash needed to be taken out, and for that, Greyson, we have a late present for you. You will get it in due time. To everyone else? F**k off.

Adam Davis and Ledge leave the stage, and Bryan Harris comes out onto the stage, looking a tad bit nervous. Going up to the lecturn, he addresses the auditorium.

Bryan Harris: I'd like to get this taken care of in short order... I'm here to announce the other half of our previous award... it's time to announce who was voted "Who To Watch in 2010".

Competitor to Watch in 2010

Bryan Harris: I thought for sure that Josephina Colbert was going to win this award, or maybe even that hottie Madison Seton - WHO I respect as a female - an UNDERAGE female.

Showing some levity, Bryan winks into the camera before continuing.

Bryan Harris: This award's voting was very very close, with Frank Garvin and Hazard in second place just behind the winner...

The camera shows Hazard sitting at his table, and then pans over slightly to show a grinning Frank Garvin.

Bryan Harris: The winner - who I'm going to give the stage to all by himself - the winner by a narrow margin... Kenji Yamada.

The moment he announces it, Bryan Harris heads right back of the stage. A moment later Kenji Yamada appears at the lecturn.

Kenji: What were you expecting? Were you expecting me to sit here and thank you for this? Were you expecting me to be humble and gracious? This…award…means you should keep your eyes on me. This award means that you should never look away from me. It’s good advice too. A predator never strikes his prey when they are expecting it and he never attacks when he knows his prey is well protected. He waits and he watches. He waits until they forget about him and he waits until they feel safe from his grasp. Then…he strikes and then he kills. I am the ultimate predator and Legacy is my prey.

The camera shows some of the fans in attendance, and you can see the worried looks on their faces.

Kenji: This is not an award. This is a warning. Watch me and make sure I am not watching you…that’s all I have to say.

Not another word, Kenji departs. When Kenji is gone, Carter Franklin comes back out onto the stage and approaches the lecturn.

Carter Franklin: Our next award is something of a reward that the fans are - in a sense - giving someone for being bad. We're about to find out who the fans voted to be the Most Hated Competitor of 2009.

Most Hated Competitor of 2009

Carter Franklin: When you hold two championships, screw over one of the more popular dudes in LEGACY and then make a woman bleed, it's not hard to see why some people would hate you... and so I'm not surprised that Loco Martinez is the Second Most Hated Competitor of 2009.

The camera shows a slightly frustrated Loco Martinez sitting at a table with John Thomas next to him.

Carter Franklin: The only guy who ould have beaten Loco Martinez for this award is the man who won... and it should be no surprise to anyone that Issac Entragian is the Most Hated Competitor of 2009.

As the announcement is made, the cameras sweep over the packed ballroom, and the table of Issac Entragian & Elizabeth Gaunt is highlighted. Issac’s reacts with just the ghost of a smirk touching his lips, and standing up he shoulders the World Heavyweight Championship while simultaneously holding out one pale hand. Liz takes the monster’s hand, and she stands up beside him, and then the two of them make their way up onto the stage.

Entragian wears a form-fitting black Versace suit, slim black slacks along with a tailor made suit jacket, and underneath he sports an embroidered white dress shirt with a few buttons undone along the throat. The albino’s ivory hair is tied back into a simple ponytail, with only two strands of hair hanging free to either side of his face, framing his sinister countenance perfectly.

Elizabeth is dressed to KILL, her curvy frame covered in a flowing black silk gown, cut all the way down to her belly button in the front, with two silver chains just above the chest keeping the material of the dress connected, even though it’s apparent that the gown is straining to contain her cleavage. Her long black & blonde hair has been curled into sultry ringlets, and her make-up is soft and vibrant, her eyeliner a shade of dark purple.

Still hand in hand, they make their way up to the podium, and once there Entragian receives his award and then he proceeds to sweep his gaze over the massive ballroom, examining the men and women gathered before him. The Pale Rider pauses only to adjust the World Heavyweight Title on his shoulder, and then he addresses the crowd.

The Pale Rider: Hatred. Let’s all mull that word over for a moment, if you wouldn’t mind. What images does it bring to mind? I’ll tell you what hatred means to me, and it’s very easy for me to do that, because looking out at all of you tonight, I see that very emotion reflected in your eyes as you look at me.

Issac cocks his head to the side, unsmiling, his face a cold blank as he surveys all of the guests in attendance this evening.

The Pale Rider: It’s jealously. It’s burning envy. It’s the desire to be something you cannot and will NEVER be. That’s hatred at it’s central core, and you all know the truth of the matter is this, the only reason you hate me is because that you can never BE me, you can never DO the things that I do, and you can never achieve what I can achieve. So in your impotent anger, you turn to hate as a last resort. It’s natural really. If I was as pathetically ordinary as half of the people in this banquet hall tonight I’d likely be a hate-filled bigot too.

Entragian smirks, and then he takes his speech down into a different vein.

The Pale Rider: Don’t get me wrong though, it’s an honor, truly it is. Ethan Leers can rub ball sweat onto someone’s face, Loco Martinez can slap Seton’s ass like she’s a stripper on stage, and Rawlings can be…well…Rawlings, yet out of all of those motherf*ckers I’m the WORST?

Issac looks down at Liz for a moment, a smile lurking behind his eyes.

The Pale Rider: Gee, I must be a real asshole.

Liz nods her head very emphatically, and the smile finally surfaces on Issac’s face, toothy and bright.

The Pale Rider: Most Hated, two years in a row. Must be some kind of record. I’ll wrap things up here, since obviously I don’t want to waste too much time on my adoring fans. Just a little bit of advice before I go, the next time you want someone to hate? Look in the f*cking mirror, and hate yourselves. I dedicate this award to each and every one of you, and trust me, you ALL deserve it.

Entragian shakes his head in disgust at the “insects” seated before him, and then he and Liz begin to make their way off the stage, Liz carrying the award in the crook of one arm.

Once Issac is clearly off the stage, road agent Anastasia Ewing comes out onto the stage, looking hot in a low-cut burgundy dress. She also looks annoyed to be out there, but she comes up to the lecturn anyway.

Anastasia Ewing: Because apparently I let down the company somehow by John not showing up for an interview on a pre-show...

Anastasia rolls her eyes, and then continues.

Anastasia Ewing: ...I get to announce our next award. Now originally when I was asked to help out, I asked to announce something that John Thomas might win, and do you know what they had me announce? Most Loved Wrestler of 2009.

Most Beloved Competitor of 2009

Anastasia Ewing: I tried to switch out, but apparently as a road agent they say that this is part of my duties... Whatever. I've met both of the guys who were in the top spots for this award... and I don't see what you all see in either of them, but the runner-up? Crazy. Boy.

Switching to a shot of the audience, Crazy Boy looks satisfied to be voted the second most beloved competitor of 2009.

Anastasia Ewing: Better luck next year, C-B... though I have a feeling that John Thomas is going to win this award next year, so I doubt you'll be in the running... Anyway... the winner of this award? Yeah, he's accomplished... YEAH, he won some tournament... and he held the F/X Network Title - THE TITLE THAT JOHN THOMAS IS GOING TO WIN VERY SOON...

Shaking her head in disgust, Anastasia continues.

Anastasia Ewing: The winner... Most Beloved Competitor of 2009... Jester.... Smiles.

Jester Smiles stands proudly in a green and purple suit, wearing a green and purple Mardi Gras mask. He looks at his award and smiles brightly. He then grabs it, holds it high, and screams out.

Jester Smiles: BOOYA!

Jester laughs.

Jester Smiles: This award means the world to me. I love all of you guys right back, and let me tell you something, this is only the beginning for Jester Smiles. A few nights ago, you saw me take a loss after Albinomination made Moreno tap out, but you know what else you saw? I knocked that giant OUT COLD! Hey, Issac, how’d it feel? Greyson Blade, Damien Black, all these big bad hardcore monsters couldn’t do in a single punch what I did. I knocked you OUT, and you know what? I’m going to do it again.

Jester nods.

Jester Smiles: The fans saw me do it once. Everyone in the back saw me do it once. And you, more than anyone, know exactly how hard I can hit. When I get my next shot at you, Issac?

Jester grins, ear to ear.

Jester Smiles: I’m gonna knock one of those pretty acrylic bullsh*t teeth out. But, back to other matters, thank you to the LEGACY fans, the LEGACY management, to everyone who made this possible.

Jester holds the award back up.

Jester Smiles: This one is for you. Times are going to change.

Jester starts to grin.

Jester Smiles: I’m going to make things right.

As Jester Smiles leaves, Preston Thompkins again walks out onto the stage to approach the lecturn.

Preston Thompkins: In my time, I've watched lots of wrasslin', seen lots of championships won and lost, and our next award... it seeks to say who did the best job at holding gold in 2009 - as voted by the front office.

Best Champion of 2009

Preston Thompkins: Holding the World Tag Titles for the entire first half of the year and havin' about 5 title defenses, Trent Logan's boys - Domination - got the runner-up to this award, takin' those tag titles and makin' this division the best in the business.

Nodding appreciatively, Trent Logan is shown clapping for the recognition which his team didn't receive earlier tonight.

Preston Thompkins: Yep, we know a good tag team when we see it, and I'm sure all the LEGACY fans wanna see y'all back real soon.

Various fans around the auditorium are shown clapping at the idea of RAGE and VENOM returning to LEGACY.

Preston Thompkins: Y'all finish up whatever's goin' on with that TOUR and we'll see you back real soon. Now, the winner of this award, you can't deny what he's done as a champ. He held the top belt in the industry for about half the year... had three title defenses... and he also found time to be the F/X Network champ at a point this year too... the Best Champion of 2009 is Loco Martinez.

We hear an obnoxious, unawards show like, "YES!" As Loco bounds up the stairs. He gets to the podium and pumps his right fist into the air with glee. Then in a high pitched voice reminding us all of the "Hooshmanzilly" fantasy football commercial, says,

Loco Martinez: CHAMPION!

Loco laughs cockily while accepting his award.

Loco Martinez: Champion. OF. THE YEAR. Not Wrestler. ANYONE can win that, and not done what I did with gold wrapped around my sexy tan waist. I am Legacy's Champion of the year. When many of you didn't SNIFF gold, I was the excellence that this company measured itself by. And even now, while MY gold has found its way to "whiter" *Lobs a cocky smirk and nod towards Issac* pastures... It will not be long into twenty-ten that Loco Martinez is again on top of the mountain. Again making a claim that I am not just a wrestler or personality or WHATEVER of the Year. I am the CHAMPION of the Year. A feat I could not have done without some very important people...

Loco reaches inside his breast pocket. He then snaps out his hand, which is empty. His fingers clenched his thumb pointed straight at... who else... but Loco Martinez.

Loco Martinez: NAMELY, ME!!! JAY. LOCO. MARTINEZ! After all... You can't spell "CHAMPION OF THE YEAR" ... WITHOUT, ME!!!

Loco chuckles cockily, and takes a step away from the mic, but then turns around wanting to add one more thing.

Loco Martinez: And I'd like to just say to Madison Seton... Let this be further proof that CHAMPIONS are MADE at Saint Joe's!!!

A big huge cheesy wink.

When Loco Martinez leaves the stage, Alan Ducard walks out to the lecturn.

Alan Ducard: From the announce table and the recap position, I witnessed quite a few great and personal battles in AND out of the ring in 2009, and this award is voted on by the fans and roster of LEGACY to reward the top feud of the past year.

Best Feud of 2009

Alan Ducard: The runners-up for this award fought for a portion of 2008 and also for a good bit of 2009, going back and forth over the World Championship... The feud between X-Calibur and Loco Martinez is one which will never be forgotten... and you know it was a banner year for heated action when THAT feud was the second most heated battle on the landscape.

X-Calibur is shown in the crowd, and he looks appreciative of the recognition, but it brings up old memories and he grits his teeth slightly before we look back to the lecturn.

Alan Ducard: The feud which was recognized as the most heated battle of the year is one which, as it developed, stirred something inside of myself and various others who I've talked to. I can't wait to hear the thoughts of the man who really took his tenure in LEGACY to the next level by the heart and determination shown in battling the other half of that very heated war... the Best Feud of 2009: Hazard vs Frank Garvin.

Upon hearing the announcement, Hazard gets out of his seat and returns to the stage, with an altogether different demeanor. His body is tense, there's no smile, the previous award and the Network Championship belt have been left behind at his table. His grip on the award as it is presented to him is white-knuckled, and his free hand is digging into the side of the podium. He tilts his head down for a long, awkward pause, before speaking quietly into the microphone.

Hazard: While I appreciate the recognition of my athletic endeavors in the world of professional wrestling, I wish I didn't have to accept this award.

Another few moments pass as the room fills with a very pregnant pause

Hazard: If not for this award, my wife and son would be here with me tonight. She would have gotten to rub elbows with Loco, who she thinks is cute in spite of the asshole streak that runs a mile wide through him. Don't worry, Loco, I'm not a jealous man. And my boy would have gotten to meet Jester Smiles, who he thinks is even cooler than his dad, and gotten his picture taken with the Seton girls, who I'm pretty sure he officially has a crush on.

Hazard finally lifts his head and casts a look over the crowd that is both menacing and legitimately sad at the same time.

Hazard: Instead, they're watching at home and I'm collecting autographs for them because of the feud I'm up here accepting an award for. This was a first for me. Never in my career has my personal life been directly affected by what happens in the arenas. Never. When I came to LEGACY, I thought that I'd be able to wrestle, support my family, and leave most of my past behind me. Instead, my home was violated, I've got fresh scars, and my family is sitting in a hotel watching this.

A solemn moment before he continues.

Hazard: For those of you that watch and don't see myself and Frank Garvin acknowledge each other, don't assume that we've settled what was between us. Frank, I still owe you plenty. One day, you're going to show your hand a little too much and let the world know about something you care about...something that goes deeper than duct tape and hurting yourself and trying to creep people out with sadomasochism. And when you do, I'm going to do my best to ruin it for you.

Hazard turns his head to look at the award with a clenched jaw, the mood in the room again becoming uncomfortable with the silence before he finally speaks.

Hazard: Not to be disrespectful, but you can keep the trophy. I've got enough reminders of this as it is.

Hazard exits the stage by unceremoniously stepping over the lights and dropping down the floor, returning to his table and calling for a drink. The award remains on the podium.

Slightly confused about what to do, Intern Avery returns to the stage and approaches the podium.

Intern Avery: I... okay. Ladies and Gentlemen, our next award is for the Best Match of the Year for 2009.

Best Match of the Year

Intern Avery: I guess it's fitting, following up our previous award, to announce that the runner-up for this award was the match back at Destined For Greatness between Hazard and Frank Garvin... though I'm not entirely sure that Hazard would care to comment on it in the slightest...

Avery starts to frown, and then he continues.

Intern Avery: The winner of this award is one which will most likely go down as the best match in LEGACY history... It went for an hour... inside a cage... between two of the best competitors this business will ever see... The Match of the Year for 2009 is the BREAKING POINT MATCH FOR THE WORLD TITLE between Loco Martinez and that match's victor - X-CALIBUR!!

Once X-Calibur takes the stage he takes his award, and while he shakes "Intern" Avery George’s hand, Loco Martinez whistles out into the crowd from his seat. All of a sudden, T. Rex and Arch Angel, adorned in somewhat dilapidated looking suits pulled straight out of the 80's, burst through the double doors to the auditorium, both pulling on the black handle of a red wagon. The wheels squeak loudly as inside the wagon is a brand new marble slated trophy case with glass glimmering off the dimmed ceremonial lights of the venue. Loco finally gets up and saunters up to the stage alongside his nemesis.

X-Calibur shakes his head in disgust as he watches Anarchy make their way in front of the raised platform of the stage area while Loco Martinez motions for Avery to hand Anarchy his award. Obliging Loco, Avery carefully hands the award off to T. Rex and Arch Angel, where they then place the award into the open glass casing. Loco nods, and Arch Angel and T. Rex close the door shut, locking it with a miniature sized locker key.

Watching this egotistical display happen right before his eyes, X-Calibur shakes his head as he proudly clutches his award. Speaking into the podium mic, X-Calibur addresses everyone in attendance.

X-Calibur: Thanks, Avery. To be honest, I don’t really think there’s any real surprise here that Loco and myself won this one... again. Two years in a row now, this piece of sh<eep> next to me, *scattered laughter over X’s crassness*, and myself, have gone out there and set the measuring stick for wrestlers in LEGACY. Say whatever you want about myself, and be sure to say a lot about THAT guy *points at Loco... more laughter*, but the fact is that whenever we step into the ring, the world watches with baited breath. And at Glimmer of Hope... in our Breaking Point match... the world nearly suffocated in their seats as we brought the industry standards to an all time high.

Loco leans into the mic.

Loco Martinez: I think the academy wanted to award me for making the FORMER World Champion tap... twice, *X shakes his head and rolls his eyes annoyed* - and while it irks me to no end to be recognized for this non-victory. I know that this is a room filled with people wishing they were standing where I am right now. No. NO. NO. Not "next to X-Calibur" - I mean at the forefront of the wrestling world, both figuratively, and at this very moment in time... LITERALLY. So as I add another trophy to my ever expanding case.... And while you can all line up and try to "Play catch up" ... *looks at X with a cocky smirk* - not wanting to speak for you... but, now's the time where we have to say - we'll see you next year!

Loco steps away from the mic as X doesn’t keep his eyes off of him, wary of some stunt he might try and pull on such a grand stage. Loco takes a grandiose bow and bounds down the steps. He jumps on the wagon, and T.Rex and Arch Angel slowly begin to pull the wagon back out the winner with Loco leaning over the top of the case. Laughter and applause from some of his associates ensues as he extends his arms and bellows "I'm THE KING OF THE WORLD" which elicits a laugh from everybody in the crowd, including X-Calibur.

X-Calibur: Funny man, that guy!

X waves at Loco leaving with his goons and the trophy case.

X-Calibur: Don’t let the door hit ya... wouldn’t want that spray on tan to rub off! *laughter* You know what? I was going to try and keep this classy, but that bag of ass... and a couple ogling eyes out there in the audience... *motions at Cronos and Mirage*... are changing quickly my mind.

He looks like he’s going to kick the podium over, but before he does, he has a change of heart and smirks at everyone watching. Calming himself down, X speaks into the mic again.

X-Calibur: Unlike my opponent for the match in which this award was won, I’m truly grateful to have been considered, much less awarded, such a prestigious honor for the second year in a row. You know... it’s no secret that I was contemplating retirement this year. As it is, I’m only thirty-four, I’ve accomplished everything I’ve ever dreamed of accomplishing in this business, and I don’t feel as awful as others when I wake up in the morning. Certain individuals out there, you know who you are... CADE... *flash to a beaming Cade Sydal... more laughter.*... decided FOR me that X-Calibur wasn’t finished wrestling yet... and when I look at this award...

X takes a moment to look into the intricate design of the award. Running his hand over the miniature gold plated, diamond encrusted figurine standing in the middle of a wrestling ring made out of marble and oak, X looks back out into the audience and chuckles. Putting his hand over the mic he inaudibly says in Smith Cartwright’s direction, "Diamonds? Really?". Removing his hand from the mic, he continues.

X-Calibur: ... I know that I’m really glad to be back. *respectful applause from the crowd watching* Even despite this giant mess Cade and myself seem to be in with "those guys". Regardless... next year, one way or another... whether I’m standing up here with Kenji Yamada, Nicholas Creed, or Loco Martinez all over again... you can bet your ASSES that I’m going to be standing right here... *raps his finger against the podium, creating an echoing boom*... accepting this award with pride and integrity. So here’s to a trifecta, LEGACY! Thank you!!

X-Calibur raises the award in the air as everyone in attendance stands up and applauds, showing the utmost respect for the grueling Breaking Point match in which he not only endured, but emerged victorious from.

Stepping out onto the stage, Rob Belote claps in X-Calibur's direction, and as X-Calibur sees the boss, he tilts it in Rob's direction. Belote nods at the man against whom he competed in his final match as an in-ring competitor. After sharing a couple brief words just to the side of the lecturn, X-Calibur heads off the stage and Rob addresses the crowd.

Rob Belote: Folks, it's time for me to announce the top award of the evening... Wrestler of the Year - 2009.

Wrestler of the Year

Rob Belote: I just want to take a moment to say that I enjoyed the hell out of 2009. I had a lot of input into the bookings of various matches that were fought in the LEGACY ring this year... but I'm not the one who made those matches great, it was my roster - whom I'm extremely proud of - from the top to the bottom. 2009 was probably my best year in this business, and I owe that to every man AND WOMAN who work for this company... not just the roster, but those of you who work backstage to make things run flawlessly - even if you don't get a lot of praise. I mean, seriously, some of the promotional hype package videos we had this year? Phenomenal.

A shaggy haired, swimmer-lookin' guy sitting in the side of the room with a Chris Jericho style haircut has a big grin on his face.

Rob Belote: Now... onto the award. The runner-up for this award is a guy who I've been around for more than the past ten years, and he never ceases to entertain me with his in-ring ability AND his antics - even though sometimes the latter annoy me a little bit. Loco Martinez - you truly were the second best wrestler of 2009.

There's a modest display of applause for the former champion, who looks side to side and then rolls his eyes before raising a hand to acknowledge the modest amount of appreciation.

Rob Belote: The winner of this award will probably not surprise many - if any - of you. He had a heck of a year and has come a long way since joining LEGACY - probably much to the chagrin of a lot of you out there... The fact that he's the World Champion shouldn't surprise anyone... and I just wonder what it's going to take to get that belt off of him. Like him or NOT... Wrestler of the Year - Issac Entragian.

A spotlight flickers over various tables in the ball room, before finally landing on Entragian & Liz’s table. A brilliant grin appears on Issac’s face, and Liz leans over and caresses her man’s neck and plants a soft congratulatory kiss on one pale cheek. For the second time in the evening, Entragian rises and heads towards the stage, the only difference is this time Liz stays at the table since this moment belongs solely to Issac.

“Bad Things” by Jace Everett provides a background theme as Entragian makes his way up on stage, and once at the podium Issac is quick to snatch his award into his hands, gripping it tightly while an expression of greed-induced glee spreads over his face. Entragian leans over the podium, speaking through a shark-toothed smile.

The Pale Rider: Now this? THIS is more like it. This is an award I can be proud of…a testament to just how f*cking GOOD I am. Best of the best, bitches, and if you have any doubt in your mind, lemme hammer the truth home.

With the World Title secured around his waist, Issac quickly unbuttons his suit jacket, giving the masses an even better view of the gold around his midsection, flaunting the World Heavyweight Championship AND the “Wrester of the Year” award that is grasped in his right hand.

The Pale Rider: See these? Tokens of success, golden idols that many in this room tonight will NEVER attain, no matter how many years you invest into your miserable careers. I rule the LEGACY roost, and more importantly, when it comes to that squared circle, I’m a straight up murderer.

The albino’s face shows dark self-righteousness, as though he DARES anyone to disagree with him.

The Pale Rider: I’ve killed legends in that ring, I’ve broken young thoroughbreds with all the potential in the world, I’ve taken part in hardcore masterpieces, all within the confines of those ring ropes. A LEGACY ring is my killing field, and each and every one of you knows that when I step into that world, I’m looking to do some butchering. It’s inevitable.

Entragian looks out into the sea of the crowd, scanning faces with his twisted emerald gaze.

The Pale Rider: Looking out into the crowd tonight, I see many great wrestlers. Men like Loco Martinez, Ledge, X-Calibur, Cronos Diamante…I could go on and on. You might be asking yourself, why not one of them up here tonight receiving this award? It’s because I’m BETTER than all of them, that’s why. There is no one more deserving of this honor than ME. I do things in that ring that are awe-inspiring, I do things that men my size should be incapable of doing, all because I have the SKILL to fall back on. I’m a man who knows how to make a statement, and I’m not afraid to make them just as often as I want.

Entragian grows somber, his visage darkening.

The Pale Rider: But I’ve got someone to thank for this, and his name is Greyson Blade. That bastard pushed me farther than I’ve ever been pushed in this business, and through my battles with Blade, a spark alighted inside of me, a spark that pushed me to BE better at everything I do, to seek glory in everything that I do, and to always overcome the odds. If not for my bloody crusade with The Outlaw, I may not have been standing before you here tonight, and that’s the truth. So thanks Greyson, for taking me to my limit, in more ways that one.

Entragian nods, his eyes wandering down to examine the “Wrester of the Year” award.

The Pale Rider: I think it’s obvious though, I’ve surpassed my limit. I don’t even have a f*cking limit anymore, all I do is RISE and RISE, becoming more and more powerful with each passing day in the LEGACY universe. So a special message to the locker room from YOUR World Champion, from YOUR “Wrester of the Year”, when you see me walking backstage, you bow your head and give me the respect I deserve, or you’ll find yourself visiting that white ring, where you’ll find an equally white demon waiting there to serve you a slice of humble pie. Then you’ll have the firsthand opportunity to see just why I am the…”Wrester of the Year.”

The monster chuckles into the microphone, and then he backs off, making his way off the stage with his new acquisition wrapped firmly in his fist.

The After-Party
