The opening video is silent. Shimmering, glimmering gold flashes appear and fade in different parts of the screen. Slow-motion video of various LEGACY competitors, each just standing in the ring in various unrelated situations, each waiting for a match to get started. First is Jester Smiles, followed a moment later by Herb Moxley. Marcus Marion appears, his cocky smirk flashing across his face. As he disappears, it's Adam Davis next, and then former FX Network Champion "All Star" James Win. The Albino Abomination with his filed, sharpened teeth comes up to start the third grouping. Cronos Diamante replaces him, and is then replaced by the final member of Team Kindred - Justin Moreno. Team Sizzle leader John Thomas is next to pop up, replaced then by his Team Awesomeness partner Gryffin Anselm. Agents of Destiny member Osamu Hayashi. After a brief fade out, the screen fades back in with the team leader of Team Outlaw appears. When Greyson Blade's footage fades, it's replaced first by Azraith DeMitri, and then by "Diamond" Del Carver. The hockey mask typically worn by Damien Black appears next, a bit of blood on the front of it where the forehead would be. And then we see the Gigantus Awesomo mask formerly worn by Chris Turner. The derranged visage of Frank Garvin. The face of a reformed hardcore fanatic Hazard. FLASH Dynamite. Joey Shepard. Conrad Kirk. KID Lightning. The faces of Diego de Cardenas and Hector Rodriguez appear, then replaced by Arch Angel and T.Rex. We then see Ethan Leers, followed by Crazy Boy. Matthew Dawson appears, replaced by Laura Seton, who is then replaced by Devastation. Marcus Mirage. Ben Murdock. Lucien Gray. Steve O'Reily. Trent Logan. The last two faces we see belong to World Champion Loco Martinez and challenger X-Calibur.
The show opens on a shot of Alan Ducard, Bryan Harris and Jimmy Yates sitting behind the announce table at the makeshift recap area, set up outside an arena. Behind them is the arena and parking lot, empty, awaiting the action yet to come this weekend. The sky is still a pale blue, as night has not yet fallen. Alan Ducard: Good evening everyone and welcome to the Glimmer of Hope pre-show. I'm your host for the evening, Alan Ducard, alongside my fellow co-hosts Jimmy Yates and Bryan Harris. Jimmy Yates: Tonight, we kick off the pay per view weekend with six matches designed not only to give some closure to some heated battles going on around the roster, but also to serve as an appetizer to give a glimpse of things to come when LEGACY holds yet another pay per view extravaganza here on Sunday night. Bryan Harris: Don't be fooled, the matches tonight will probably be great, but the purpose of this show is to get each and every one of you viewers out there interested in shelling out some cash on Sunday night - 48 hours from now - to watch the Glimmer of Hope pay per view event. Alan Ducard: Frankly I think the Co-Op Challenge and the Breaking Point match would be enough reason in itself to want to see things as they happen, but for anyone yet to be convinced, we'll do our best to give you a reason here tonight.
Jimmy Yates: In the opening contest of the evening, Conrad Kirk and Joey Shepard attempt to not only take another step up the ladder in the tag team division, but in the process keep The Flying Avengers from gaining any traction and get some revenge fo the attack by KID Lightning and FLASH Dynamite. Alan Ducard: This is the debut match for The Flying Avengers here in LEGACY, and they've apparently decided to target H.g.H. upon their arrival, hoping to - in their minds - rid LEGACY of a team who is a detriment to the division and the roster. Bryan Harris: I gotta tell ya, I know they're not from around here... but I really kinda like The Flying Avengers' style! The guys got style, they got determination, and my hope is that they make a mark on the tag team division, which could really use some "cleaning up". Jimmy Yates: Both of these teams are capable of some fast paced, high octane offense, so the opening match of the evening should be a great one. With everything yet to come tonight, let's not waste any more time before we get down to the footage. Start of Match Footage FLASH Dynamite pulls Conrad Kirk off the canvas and whips him to the Flying Avengers corner. FLASH rushes in at Conrad, but Conrad gets an elbow up into his chin. FLASH stumbles back a bit, and Kid Lightning grabs Conrad by the arm! Conrad turns and swings a big right fist into Kid Lightning’s chin, and Kid Lightning drops to the apron! Conrad turns around runs at FLASH, but FLASH drops quickly into a drop toehold! Alan Ducard: Conrad Kirk tried to fight out of the Flying Avengers corner, but the distraction from Kid Lightning allowed FLASH Dynamite to recapture this early advantage. Bryan Harris: And what an impressive early advantage it’s been! These two young kids are far more talented than I would have thought given their seemingly silly outfits, but even that is starting to grow on me! FLASH rolls over Conrad’s back and locks him into a side headlock. Conrad works his knees up under himself and pushes to hhis feet. Conrad shoves FLASH towards the ropes, and Kid Lightning slaps FLASH on the back as FLASH rebounds off the ropes and drives Conrad to the canvas with a shoulder tackle! Kid Lightning springs off the top quickly as FLASH moves to the side and lands with an elbow drop across Conrad’s chest! Alan Ducard: High elevation on that springboard elbow drop, and Kid Lightning is going for the cover right now! ONE! TW–! Conrad kicks out quickly, launching Kid Lightning off of his chest, and Kid Lightning lands on his feet. Jimmy Yates: Kid Lightning’s gonna have to do a lo more to keep that big man down, especially since he’s like half his size. Conrad starts to get to his feet and Kid Lightning looks to the ropes. Conrad gets to a knee and Kid Lightning darts at the ropes, rushing right for Conrad, who shoves to his feet and drives his arm across Kid Lightning’s chest with a HUGE clothesline that spins Kid Lightning through a back flip and a half, sending him through onto his back after the full flip! Bryan Harris: No way! Jimmy Yates: Now THAT is powerful! That clothesline just made Kid Lightning do a backwards 450! Conrad moves to his corner, and tags in Joey Shepard quickly. Joey springs over the ropes, and pulls Kid Lightning to his feet. Conrad joins Joey and together they whip Kid Lightning off the ropes. Conrad catches Kid Lightning off the rebound by scooping him into a sidewalk slam position and spins him around for Joey to grab Kid Lightning’s neck and together they drop with a sidewalk slam and reverse DDT combination! Conrad slowly gets out of the ring as Joey hooks the leg deep for a cover! ONE! TWO! Kid Lightning kicks out as FLASH starts through the ropes. Bryan Harris: Kid Lightning found the fortitude to kick out of that dangerous move of Homies Gettin’ High! Alan Ducard: It was an impressive tandem maneuver, and certainly was an impressive feat to kick out of such a thing as well. Joey pulls Kid Lightning to his feet and sends him into a neutral corner. Joey runs at Kid Lightning, and Kid Lightning ducks down suddenly and throws Joey over the top rope in the corner, but Joey holds the top rope and swings around to land on the apron next to the turnbuckle post. Kid Lightning turns around, right into a forearm to the side of the face from Joey. Joey leaps onto the rtop rope and Kid Lightning turns right into a missile dropkick! Jimmy Yates: Joey Shepard with a HIGH missile dropkick! Alan Ducard: Joey Shepard has been on a proverbial roll since he has gotten into the ring this evening. Joey pops up to his feet and quickly moves to the bottom rope. He leaps off and splashes across Kid Lightning’s chest with the One and a Half-Star Frog Splash! Joey pops up to his left knee, and puts his forefinger and thumb to his lips, and inhales deeply as the fans cheer! Joey then drops to make the cover! ONE! TW–! Kid Lightning kicks out quickly, the moment to pose allowing him to get back some wind. Joey pulls Kid Lightning to his feet and whips him off the ropes, and FLASH slaps Kid Lightning’s arm as he hits the ropes. Jimmy Yates: I think FLASH Dynamite just tagged himself in, but Joey doesn’t know! Bryan Harris: Good! Maybe he’ll learn not to smoke so much before his next match, and he’ll pay better attention! Kid Lightning rebounds off the ropes and Joey catches him with a tilt-a-whirl, but Kid Lightning swings his legs through with a flying head scissors that sends Joey into the ropes, his throat across the second rope and FLASH runs the length of the apron and drives his knee into the side of Joey’s face! The fans let out a loud groan of sympathy as FLASH steps through the ropes, while Joey lays on the canvas clutching the side of his head. Kid Lightning is escorted out of the ring, as FLASH pulls Joey up with both hands on his throat and throws Joey into a neutral corner with ease! Alan Ducard: FLASH Dynamite is tossing young Joey Shepard around like a ragdoll! Bryan Harris: And its glorious! FLASH moves to Joey in the corner and starts driving rights and lefts into his abdomen and chest in rapid succession! Joey crumbles down to slump in the corner, and FLASH continues to drive punches into the top of his head, as the referee starts ordering him to get out of the corner. FLASH holds his hands up and backs up to the middle of the ring before suddenly running at Joey and tucks himself over with a somersault, splashing his back into Joey’s chest and face so hard the velocity sends his body springing back so he lands on his knees in front of Joey! Alan Ducard: ...oh my goodness. Jimmy Yates: Jesus Christ, he killed Joey! Holy...oh my God, he had to have caved Joey’s chest in! FLASH grabs Joey by the ankles and drags his limp body out of the corner and drops to make the cover. ONE! TWO! THR–! Conrad Kirk comes into the ring and stomps down on FLASH’s back, breaking the pin attempt as the official moves to back Conrad out of the ring! FLASH grabs Joey by the arm and yanks him to his feet, and points at Conrad on the apron, as if to tell him he caused this. FLASH whips Joey off the ropes and bends down for a back body drop, but Joey leaps over him and rolls forward, hooking FLASH’s legs for a sunset flip! But FLASH doesn’t go down! Bryan Harris: Ha! Joey’s attempt at a sudden pin didn’t turn out so hot for him! Jimmy Yates: He doesn’t need to be in there, he needs to get a tag to Conrad! It’s amazing even had the strength, or the instinct, to jump over FLASH! FLASH looks down at Joey and grabs him by the side of the head with both hands and pulls him straight through his legs and to his feet before launching him straight into the air, catching Joey’s legs on his shoulders for a powerbomb, but Joey snaps back with a hurricanrana and FLASH spills through the ropes to the floor! Joey starts crawling to his corner! Bryan Harris: No! What the hell happened?! Alan Ducard: I believe that Jo– Bryan Harris: I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! Kid Lightning suddenly slings himself over the top rope into the ring and rushes at the HgH corner, nailing Conrad with a running forearm! Conrad holds the rope and comes in, and Kid Lightning quickly runs to his corner as the referee moves to push Conrad out, now that Kid Lightning has left the ring. Kid Lightning runs back into the ring and grabs Joey’s ankle and starts dragging him back to the Flying Avengers corner, and Conrad starts arguing with the ref about Kid Lightning actually still being in the ring! Jimmy Yates: Damnit! Alan Ducard: Kid Lightning is using the distraction to his unfair advantage. Joey turns over onto his back and shoves his other foot into Kid Lightning’s chest, sending him into the corner, and the fans cheer again as Conrad steps out of the ring finally! The official turns around as Joey turns to start crawling toward his corner, breathing deeply and clutching his chest. Joey reaches his hands out, just inches from Conrad’s outstretched fingers! Jimmy Yates: Yes! Go Joey! Suddenly, FLASH Dynamite slides under the bottom rope and sprints for Joey, dropping an elbow across the back of his head! Bryan Harris: Yes! FLASH Dynamite saved the day! Joey drops completely to the canvas, and the fans begin to boo loudly as FLASH grabs Joey and pulls him to his feet into a waistlock. FLASH spins around Joey’s body, locking him from the front, and rushes into his corner and tags in Kid Lightning. FLASH moves to his right, still locking Joey’s body up, and then sends him to the ropes as Kid lightning moves along the apron. FLASH catches Joey on the rebound with a high back body drop, ands Kid Lightning springboards to the top and comes right off with a full flip, landing on Joey’s chest in mid-air, riding Joey to the canvas! Alan Ducard: I...I have never seen something like that executed in mid-air before! Bryan Harris: That! Was! AWESOME! Kid Lightning pops onto his knees and throws his arms out wide before pinching his forefinger and thumb together and mockingly throwing his hand toward the canvas, he gets to his feet, and stomps on the spot he threw the imaginary joint. The fans boo again, as Kid Lightning turns to look at Joey and stomps down on his chest before turning back around and pointing at Conrad with both hands. Kid Lightning runs to the ropes and rebounds off with a dead sprint before leaping into the air and turns through a shooting star press across Joey’s chest! Alan Ducard: Amazing agility and speed from the newcomer, Kid Lightning. Jimmy Yates: C’mon Joey! Kid Lightning hooks the leg and leans back for the cover! ONE! TWO! THR–! Conrad steps through the ropes and yanks Kid Lightning off the cover by his leg! The referee quickly backs Conrad out of the ring, and Kid Lightning grabs Joey and pulls him to his feet. Kid Lightning sends Joey into a neutral corner and rushes at Joey! Joey ducks and sends Kid Lightning over the turnbuckle, and Kid Lightning swings himself to land on the apron. Joey turns around, and Kid Lightning forearms him in the side of the head! Bryan Harris: Didn’t we see this earlier? Jimmy Yates: It was the other way around though, and I really hope we don’t see Kid Lightning hit the same dropkick Joey did! Joey stumbles back and Kid Lightning leaps onto the top turnbuckle. Joey turns around and Kid Lightning leaps off, looking for a missile dropkick, but Joey ducks under and Kid Lightning crashes to the canvas as Joey drops to a knee holding his own chest! Bryan Harris: NO! Joey starts making his way to his corner as Kid Lightning rolls off his chest, and starts rolling toward his own corner! Joey slaps Conrad’s hand! Kid Lightning slaps FLASH’s hand! Conrad is through the ropes a little earlier than FLASH is, and catches FLASH as he comes across the ring with a clothesline! Alan Ducard: Conrad Kirk is back in the ring, and the way this match shapes up has drastically changed! Conrad turns and pulls Kid Lightning to his feet before whipping him off the ropes and catching him on the rebound with a high back body drop! FLASH gets to his feet and runs at Conrad, only to catch a big back elbow from Conrad! Kid Lightning slowly gets back to his feet and Conrad sends him into a corner, rushes at him, and drives a clothesline into his chest in the corner! FLASH is back to his feet against the ropes, and Conrad rushes him, clotheslining him over the top rope to the floor! Jimmy Yates: Conrad Kirk is taking out the damn trash, and its about time! Alan Ducard: His aggression has been awakened by these two self-proclaimed superheroes, and he is getting a measure of revenge for their antics. Conrad moves to Kid Lightning and pulls him out of the corner and snaps him over with a vertical suplex! Conrad rolls to his feet and pulls Kid Lightning up with him, right into another vertical suplex! Conrad pulls Kid Lightning back up onto his feet, right into a fireman’s carry! Conrad holds Kid Lightning up on his shoulders for a moment, his eyes going wide, as the fans cheer loudly! Jimmy Yates: Conrad hit the Crazy Weed, and he’s about to nail the Crying Weed! Conrad looks out of the ring at FLASH Dynamite, who’s starting to get to his feet on the floor, then drives Kid Lightning down with a Death Valley Driver! Conrad grabs Kid Lightning by his head and pulls him right into a standing headscissors before shouting. Conrad Kirk: Green Grass and High Times mothaf**kas! Bryan Harris: Such language should be punishable by forefeit! FLASH Dynamite slowly slides into the ring behind Conrad and fishes his right hand into the front of his tights, as the referee starts telling Conrad to let Kid Lightning goe, he’s not the legal man. Conrad ignores the official’s pleas and hooks under Kid Lightning’s arms and behind his knees, pulling him up and turns, right as FLASH pulls his hand out of the front of his tights and punches him in the face through Kid Lightning’s legs! Alan Ducard: I don’t know what he hit him with, but FLASH Dynamite just hit Conrad Kirk with something! Bryan Harris: And the referee doesn’t even know! Finally some justice is served! Conrad collapses to the canvas, and FLASH turns to Joey Shepard on the apron, and rushes him, driving his, as the camera can now see, brass-knuckle covered fist into Joey’s face, dropping him from the apron before tossing the brass knuckles off his hand. FLASH turns around and moves to Conrad, shoving Kid Lightning’s limp body off of Conrad’s chest, and covers, yelling for the confused referee to count! ONE! TWO! THREE! The referee signals for the bell, as the fans begin to boo loudly! Alan Ducard: The Flying Avengers literally have stolen a victory from Homies Gettin’ High, and it’s a travesty! Jimmy Yates: The official didn’t even see the brass knuckles! What the hell?! Bryan Harris: Exactly, Jimbo. Its only cheating if you’re caught, and they weren’t caught! The fans continue to boo, as Fall Out Boy’s “I Don’t Care” plays, and Josephina Colbert raises the microphone to her lips. Josephina Colbert: Here are your winners, via pinfall... FLASH Dynamite and Kid Lightning... The FLYING AVENGERS!!! Alan Ducard: Well regardless of how they picked up the win, The Flying Avengers have started out their LEGACY tenure with a victory. Jimmy Yates: Yeah, and it's gotta be disappointing for Conrad Kirk and Joey Shepard, because they've been on a roll as of late, winning their past few matches. Bryan Harris: Let's face it, guys, The Flying Avengers have a history of winning in other federations and holding championship gold, and I don't see why it should be any different now that they're here in LEGACY. Alan Ducard: They've certainly got talent, and they'll be quite an addition to LEGACY's stellar tag team division.
The screen is dark once again, just like the opening video sequence, and then words appear on the screen. "15 MEN" "5 TEAMS" "ONLY 1 WINNER" "The Co-Op Challenge" The view goes back to the recap position. Alan Ducard: As most of you have probably heard, Glimmer of Hope 2009 is once again featuring the match known as the Co-Op Challenge, and since it's a match like no other, let's just take a moment to refresh all your memories on how this is going to go down. Jimmy Yates: Five teams have come together, each captained by a competitor chosen by the front office, containing three members a piece. Bryan Harris: Here's where it gets a little complicated. Until the match gets down to just 5 competitors in the ring, when a team captain is eliminated, the ENTIRE team gets eliminated. That means that if Greyson Blade gets eliminated and there's more than five guys left in the match? Az DeMitri and Del Carver are gone from the match as well. Alan Ducard: Apart from that, eliminations can occur by pinfall OR submission anywhere inside the ring or directly around it. Unlike a traditional battle royal where all the competitors are in the ring from the beginning, the Co-Op Challenge starts with three participants inside the ring - chosen at random - and every 90 seconds, another participant comes to the ring - also at random. Any competitors who have yet to enter the match when their team captain is eliminated is also likewise eliminated from the match - without even stepping foot in the ring. Jimmy Yates: Unlike at Glimmer of Hope 2008, the World Champion is not taking part in this year's Co-Op Challenge, but the winner will become the Number One Contender, getting a championship opportunity to take place at LEGACY's flagship event of the year - DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. Bryan Harris: So those are the rules, let's get down to the same question everyone seems to be talking about around the water coolers around the world - who do you think is going to win, Yates? Who's your money on? Jimmy Yates: It's really tough to tell, but honestly, I'd have to say The Outlaw Greyson Blade has the best odds of coming through this with a win. He's used to getting in the spotlight, he almost always comes up big in big time matches. He's shown that he's capable of taking on multiple opponents... Alan Ducard: Not to mention the fact that the team he has assembled is second to none. All five of the teams look to have the ability to come through with a victory if they can work to their strengths, however, Team Outlaw is the only one I'm seeing which is full of future Hall of Famers. Not a bad choice, Jimmy. Jimmy Yates: Who do you like, Bryan? Bryan Harris: Who do I like?! I'm sure you're expecting me to say either Issac's "Team Kindred" or the team Marcus Marion has put together, but I'm gonna shock you a bit. No... I'm not picking former World Champion Jester Smiles or his band of crazies... I'm going with John Thomas. Jimmy Yates: You can't be serious..? Bryan Harris: Of course I am. Osamu Hayashi is down for the cause of getting John Thomas to the promised land; Gryffin Anselm is a one-man wrecking crew who would love to help his protege take his career to the next level, and John Thomas? The kid might not have the greatest record in LEGACY, but he's beaten some of the biggest names in the business - X-Calibur, Crash, Rocky Stellar, and Greyson Blade to name a few - and I don't think I've ever seen him look more focused on a goal than he is on winning the Co-Op Challenge and getting his big title shot at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. Alan Ducard: Undoubtedly the notion of a main event World Title match between two members of the Cirque du Mofo is running through John Thomas' mind... a dream he can make reality if he wins the Co-Op Challenge and Loco Martinez can retain his belt in the Breaking Point match at Glimmer of Hope. Bryan Harris: What a glorious night that would be if those two very-likely outcomes take place. Jimmy Yates: 12 guys in the Co-Op Challenge and X-Calibur will have something to say about your little scenario taking place...
Backstage, interviewer Andrew Kelley stands in the back halls of the arena with Cervantes next to him. Cervantes is prepared for his match, dawning his entrance gear which includes his black ring attire pants, a white shirt with frilly collar and cuff, and a large black fedora. Andrew Kelley: Cervantes, I just wanted to get a word with you before your triple threat match. Cervantes: Certainly, Andrew, make any inquiry which you have of me. Andrew Kelley: So far you've been successful in two of your three matches here in LEGACY, owing part of your success to the in-ring research you've done against the opponents you've faced. How do you think that fares on tonight's outcome for you? Cervantes: It's plain to see that I have yet to face Mr Hayden Wolfe in LEGACY, nor have I stood in the ring with Allen Franks. Does that decrease the percentages out of my favor? That may very well be. I know that the first time I step into the ring with a man of equal talents for the first time, I could lose the match. I won't fein arrogance. I know that victory is not certain, but what I can guarantee is that tonight I will not fail. Andrew Kelley: I'm not sure I follow... Cervantes: Win or lose tonight, the likelihood of facing Iscariot or The Montreal Kid a second time is highly likely, and when that match arrives, I am dedicated to having a better match on that evening than what you will see in the ring tonight. Failure, Mr Kelley, would be for me to not learn something about my opponents tonight to use in the future. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a prior engagement.
Bryan Harris: Our second match of the evening features the debut of two men attempting to obtain a position on the LEGACY roster. Alan Ducard: Both Thomas Manchester Black and his opponent Ricky Romano have been granted temporary contracts with LEGACY, and based on their performances tonight, they could find themselves in the negotiations to get a longer-term deal. Jimmy Yates: They both have skills - if they didn't, they wouldn't be in a televised match here tonight, but do they have the drive in them to be worthy of a valuable spot on the greatest roster in the business today? That's yet to be determined. Bryan Harris: Well I haven't seen anything from Ricky Romano yet, but TMB? That guy scares me a little bit - in a good way. Alan Ducard: Win or lose, I have heard that what the front office is looking for tonight is a showing of effort, so let's get to the footage and let you predict which competitor - if either one - will come through with a long term contract here in LEGACY. Start of Match Footage Thomas Manchester Black and Ricky Romeo circle each other. Each man stiffening his upper lip as he stares down his opponent. Romeo suddenly pounces forward landing three quick open fist jabs to TMB’s head, Black starts to reel but just as quickly snaps back into attention. Manchester Black grabs Ricky Romeo by the wrists – Irish whip right into a short arm clothesline!! Romeo is leveled! TMB: GET UP!Alan Ducard: It’s the televised in-ring debut for these two, so far in this match Thomas Manchester Black has shown a higher level of intensity. Black stomps on his fallen opponents torso a few times before grabbing a fist full of Romeo’s jet black hair and pulling him to his feet. TMB Brings a knee into his opponents abdomen, doubling him over before pushing him into the rope. Romeo hits the rope, bounces, and comes charging back. TMB is there with a hip toss into a backbreaker – But Romeo rolls off the knee landing on his feet. Romeo hits the opposite ropes, bounces, comes charging back – RUNNING CLOTHESLINE!! TMB goes down!! Jimmy Yates: Nice take down of the bigger man! Bryan Yates: Hmm… But can he keep him down? Romeo quickly props himself onto the middle rope of the nearby turnbuckle and holds out his arms – we get a brief close-up of the Italian flag on his one piece wrestling gear. Ricky falls down from the rope like a lumberjack’s log – DIVING HEADBUTT!! He goes for the pin!! Ross Quattro is there for the count -- One!! TMB shoves Ricky off of him. Both men are up. Ricky walks back into the ropes to get some momentum, bounces, and charges forward. TMB with three quick Maui Thai kicks to the ribs and Ricky finds himself reeling back, Romeo charges forward after the third kick in desperation, TMB has him – HUGE SPINNING SPINE BUSTER!! Romeo bounces off the mat!! Alan Ducard: Nice combination of kickboxing strikes and power maneuvering by Thomas Black! TMB goes for the pin and Ross Quattro slides down for the count. One!! Two!! Romeo gets his shoulder up!! Quattro holds up a piece sign signifying a two count, TMB seems a bit annoyed at this. Bryan Harris: I think Ricky should have stayed down after that one. Black lifts his opponent as if for a scoop slam, but then suddenly drops Romeo across his knee in a BACKBREAKER!! TMB Stands up, still holding Romeo up, FALLAWAY SLAM!! One of Romeo’s boots almost hits Quattro across the face who makes a “woah!” with his lips. TMB Strides right over to the fallen Romeo, wasting no movements, and tosses him in the corner. Romeo has his head hanging over the low rope as Black delivers some stiff elbows and knees to his back. TMB Follows up by standing on the back of Romeo’s neck, stoping his ability to breath between his boot and the low rope. Referee Quattro makes the disqualification 5-count One!! TMB Grits his teeth. Two!! Romeo is choking!! Three!! About five drunken crowd members in the front row: QUATTRO!! Thomas Manchester black breaks the hold. Jimmy Yates: Uh, Alan? Did we just hear one, two, three… Quattro? Alan Ducard: Hmm, fancy that, I thought I imagined it. TMB pulls Romeo up again, Isish whips him all the way into the opposite ropes. Romeo crashes into the turnbuckle back first. TMB follow up with a running clothesline lariat – NO ONE HOME!! Ricky Romeo ducks last second and TMB gets the wind knocked out of him by the top turn buckle. Romeo climbs to the middle rope, leaps, SWINGING HURRICANRANA!! TMB IS DOWN!! Official is there for a pin. Jimmy Yates: The momentum just shifted!! One!! Romeo hooks the leg!! Two!! Th- No! Thomas Black kicks out! Romeo tries to keep up the momentum and Isish whips TMB into the ropes, Black hits the rope, bounces, comes charging and Romeo is ready with a high lifting sit-out sidewalk slam!! Romeo follows up by standing up and then falling down with a drilling elbow across the throat of TMB. Romeo hits that mid rope again!! GUILLOTINE LEG DROP!! MISSES!! TMB rolls out of the way. We get a close up of Ricky Romeo in pain as he clutches his lower back. TMB comes up to the seated Romeo from behind and locks on an inverted head lock. He lifts him up as he tightens the hold. Tightening his muscles around the throat of his opponent we get a close up of the face of Thomas Manchester Black, his eyes brimming with sheer intensity. TMB spins himself, loosening the hold slightly as Romeo still struggles. NECK BREAKER!! Crowd: OOOHH!! The Pin! Quattro with the count!! One!! Jimmy Yates: That was the “violent party”. Two!! Alan Ducard: Very violent, indeed. THREE!! Quattro hold up three fingers and makes a drum signal to the time keeper. *DING* *DING* *DING* Josephina Colbert: Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner by PINFALL, THOMAS, MANCHESTER, BLACK!!!! "If I Was Your Vampire" by Marilyn Manson plays through the arena as we see Thomas Manchester Black standing over the fallen Ricky Romeo. Bryan Harris: Great win here tonight in his LEGACY debut, and I think Thomas Manchester Black just sent quite a message to the rest of the LEGACY roster. Jimmy Yates: Maybe, but maybe not. It's not like Ricky Romano put up too much of a fight in this one... Alan Ducard: Regardless, Thomas Manchester Black went to the ring and competed against the individual matched up against him, and his record will show that he's victorious thus far in all his matches here in LEGACY. Bryan Harris: The dude's scary talented, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be able to match up well against most any of the guys on this roster, but I guess we'll be finding out in the coming weeks.
A loud riff is heard and we're hearing the voice of Karen O and the rest of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as she launches in to "Phenomena"
Touch kid, how you surprise me"
"Something like an astronoma"
"Roll kid, rock your body off!"
"Something like a phenomena, baby"
"She’ll make you sweat in the water Don’t fall asleep with the motor on"
Hot time kid"
"It’s cold under the blanket They loved it"
"They shot it The fastest ran and got it"
"That story that ease my They hide it up the sleeves, my"
"They hide it They hide it They’re never gonna find it"
"Don’t fall asleep with the motor on"
You’re something like a phenomena"
"Something like a phenomena, baby You’re gonna get your body off"
"Something like a phenomena, baby You’re something like a phenomena"
"Something like a phenomena, baby You’re gonna get your body off"
Alan Ducard: Up next we have what was originally scheduled to be a three way match, but we've been informed that Allen Franks has been withheld from the card tonight under doctor's orders. Jimmy Yates: What they're telling us is that he has been diagnosed with "flu-like symptoms", and since the WHO has elevated the H1N1 Virus, or "swine flu" threat to pandemic level, the brass here at LEGACY has decided not to take any chances. Bryan Harris: It seems like I should say something about the swine flu and your mother right here, but that may border on distasteful. Jimmy Yates: Referee Jacob Fudrucker is in the ring for our next contest, and while the competitors are making their way into the ring, let's give you a little background on what is actually about to take place. Alan Ducard: This is the LEGACY "Show Me Showcase" match, a unique opportunity for wrestlers to establish themselves in LEGACY in front of a larger audience than they traditionally receive. Bryan Harris: It's not about how many people are watching, it's about WHO is watching. And the "who" in this case happens to be LEGACY matchmakers and executives. This is a big opportunity for both men tonight. Alan Ducard: Cervantes has made the most of his opportunities so far in LEGACY. He ended matches very abruptly with that thrust kick he calls the "Code to Live By" at Strife 51 and 52, defeating Elliot Landry and Crimson Ghost respectively. Bryan Harris: He's going to be squaring off against Iscariot, a young man that certainly doesn't look like your prototypical LEGACY superstar, but who brings a very unique style into the ring to go along with his very unique look. I'm sure he's seen what that kick from Cervantes can do and will have it scouted as well as possible. Jimmy Yates: For his sake, he better hope so. Let's go to the ring, where once again, Jacob Fudrucker will be in charge. Start of Match Footage Iscariot skips the traditional collar and elbow tie-up with the much larger Cervantes, instead opting to begin attacking the legs of his opponent right off the bat. Several sharp kicks to the thigh draw "oohs" and "aahs" from the crowd, but don't seem to be doing a great deal of damage. Iscariot feigns an inside leg kick, which causes Cervantes to bring up a knee to guard against it. Instead of following through, however, Iscariot dropkicks Cervantes' other leg out from under him, sending him to the mat facefirst. Jimmy Yates: Good strategy by Iscariot. He's giving up nine inches and seventy pounds to Cervantes here. Bryan Harris: Nine..inches...seventy pounds..must..not..make..mother joke.. Fudrucker stands back as the aerial attack begins. Iscariot shoots himself off the ropes and hits a front-flip senton across the back of Cervantes, popping up directly to his feet, turning on one heel and delivering a sharp kick to the side of Cervantes' head. After running a small loop into and out of the corner, he delivers a hesitation dropkick to the other side of Cervantes' head. Cervantes struggles to get up but is met with more constant motion from the smaller man completely clad in black. Iscariot connects with a pair of spinning backfists, which is enough to draw a warning from referee Fudrucker. Alan Ducard: Iscariot is on fire here tonight. I think he realizes the opportunity that's at stake and wants to end this one in quick and dominant fashion! Jimmy Yates: The warning regarding closed fists doesn't seem to have slowed him down at all. Iscariot manages to Irish whip Cervantes into the corner and is charging in when Cervantes shakes the cobwebs and launches the Code To Live By at his rushing opponent. Iscariot reacts quickly enough - just barely - to slide beneath the kick and onto the ring apron. As Cervantes regains his balance, Iscariot slingshots himself over the top rope and connects with a bulldog. As Cervantes rises to his feet, Iscariot steps in and connects to the chest and jaw with a spinning heel kick, again knocking Cervantes into the corner. Iscariot steps up onto the thighs of Cervantes, going for a monkeyflip. Instead, Cervantes grabs Iscariot under each arm, sets him up and over the top rope and onto the apron, and fires off yet another Code to Live By. Again, Iscariot manages to dodge, this time sidestepping and again slingshotting over the top rope to add momentum to his attack, connecting with a second spinning heel kick and going for the cover. Alan Ducard: One, Two, and Cervantes is out! Probably a closer call than he expected this early on against a smaller opponent. Bryan Harris: I would argue that Iscariot has had two closer calls than that. Cervantes knows he can end the match with one shot, and that's what he's going for. Instead of arguing with Fudrucker, Iscariot stands up immediately after the two count and lands a standing shooting star press, knee first into the stomach of Cervantes, and hooks the near leg for another pin attempt. Jimmy Yates: Celebrator! One! Two! Thr..no, two and a half! Alan Ducard: It doesn't matter if you have one shot stopping power if you never land that one shot. Cervantes is going to have to get going here. Iscariot is relentless in his attack, meeting Cervantes with a series of alternating European uppercuts and kicks to the thigh. A thirty second flurry of attacks is polished off by a straightforward kick to the gut and an X-Factor style facebuster. A hooked leg again gets a two count, and this time Iscariot slaps the mat in frustration. He takes a step back and rolls Cervantes up in a magistrol cradle, but again Cervantes is out at two. Iscariot backs Cervantes into a corner and again puts the European uppercuts to use, working over the neck and head of Cervantes. Bryan Harris: I'll admit that after his last two showings on Strife, I was expecting Cervantes to end this relatively quickly. Iscariot has impressed me here tonight. Jimmy Yates: That's the point of this match, and with a series of near falls and some innovative offense, I would imagine that Iscariot has made several people take notice. Iscariot pulls Cervantes out of the corner and attempts a side Russian legsweep, but Cervantes "sits down" on the move, using his size advantage to block it. He hooks the wrist of Iscariot, makes a full twist of the arm and attempts a hook kick, but again Iscariot is too quick, ducking under the move, regaining his composure and connecting on the legsweep on his second attempt. He floats over and hooks BOTH legs. Bryan Harris: One! Two! Thre..no! No! You can't GET any closer than that! Wow! Alan Ducard: Cervantes can't get ANYTHING to work tonight! He's bordering on desperation at this point! Cervantes' mouth is open and he's gasping for air as Iscariot connects with a dropkick to one leg, then to the chest, lands a spinning backfist, and keeps Cervantes moving backwards with varied strikes. Iscariot whips Cervantes into the ropes, but before he can mount an offensive, Cervantes launches himself directly from the ropes with a forearm strike clearly meant to decapitate Iscariot, but that meets only air as Iscariot falls to his stomach and lets Cervantes sail over him and crash to the mat. Iscariot rises and clamps a side headlock on Cervantes, and begins moving forward to apply a running bulldog. Cervantes accelerates as well, though and shoves Iscariot chest-first into the turnbuckles with tremendous force. Cervantes allows Iscariot to stagger backwards past him, then attempts the Code To Live By once again...this time connecting and almost taking Iscariot out of his leather hood, black gloves, and boots. Jimmy Yates: Code to Live By! Bryan Harris: Forget about it! Goodnight! That's it! Ciao, baby! Alan Ducard: One, two, and three. As redundant as Bryan's call may have been, it was completely accurate. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner by pinfall.....CERVANTES! Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner by pinfall... CERVANTES!!!!! Jimmy Yates: We mentioned the "one shot knockout power" that Cervantes posesses, and it was on display right there. Getting to his feet, Cervantes wipes the hair out of his face and bows deeply to the fans in attendance, some of whom are clapping and cheering his victory. He then walks over and exits the ring. Bryan Harris: That's three in a row for Cervantes, and while Iscariot may have controlled the action in the Show Me Showcase here tonight, nothing impresses people like winning. Jimmy Yates: You're absolutely right. A big win going forward for Cervantes, and Iscariot will be forced to regroup heading into the next Strife. As Cervantes heads out of the ring, he locks eyes with an attractive young woman in the second row and blows her a kiss before making his way back to the locker room.
The scene cuts to a disgruntled Jen X, the young blonde valet slash girlfriend of FX champion Herb Moxley. Some fans cheer as she is looking quite lovely tonight in a floral pattern light green dress. She’s leaning against the wall with her arms crossed in front her abdomen, not far from the men’s restroom across the hall. She looks down at her feet and grumbles. Jen X: What’s taking him so long? A man walks by, casually making eye contact with her – she stiffens in fear. It’s Marcus Mirage. He smiles at her and keeps on walking. After passing Jen, Mirage turns backwards and looks at her one last time, walking backwards a few steps before turning around and proceeding down the hallway. This seems to only half creep out Jen X. Herb bursts through the door of the restroom. He’s wearing the shiny FX title and the fans cheer at this. Moxley: Phew that was rough. Jen X: What took you so long? Moxley: Sorry baby-mc-butter-muffin, I have a shy bladder and the guy in the next stall over had Turrets syndrome. Jen just sighs, she seem visibly bothered. Moxley: What’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost or something? Jen X: Well, no. It’s… It’s nothing.Moxley segment

Alan Ducard: Next on the card we have a very original match, taking place under the banner of a very personal and storied rivalry. Bryan Harris: There is bitter blood between Garvin & Hazard, these men have a history, and as both of them have taken up shop in LEGACY, this old war has been dug up and brought to the surface yet again. Jimmy Yates: These two individuals are SO different from one another, their personalities and moral codes are on totally opposite ends of the spectrum. Alan Ducard: Hazard is a tough as nails competitor, trying to take a straight path to glory using sheer ability and drive. We understand he has a hardcore history, but with his move to LEGACY he’s trying to put that part of his life behind him. Garvin on the other hand, is a different creature entirely… Jimmy Yates: No doubt, Alan. Frank Garvin flat out scares me. I mean we have our freaks and villains on this roster, from your Ivory Terror to your Cult Leader, but this Garvin seems almost to be a different breed of strange entirely. I’ve looked into his muddy eyes before, and it’s like looking into empty space. They are the eyes of a doll, so innocent and yet so cruel. Bryan Harris: Something is missing in that man’s head, boys, something crucial. He’s just a creepy machine, I don’t think he knows the difference between pain and pleasure, and if he does, he doesn’t seem to care either way. Alan Ducard: We mentioned earlier that we have quite the original concept on tap for this match and in my opinion that concept will benefit both superstars at various points in the match. The first five minutes of this match will be contested under NO LIMITS rules, while the last five minutes of the match will fall under REGULAR rules. Jimmy Yates: So freakish Frank will have his chance to deal and receive pain in the No Limits portion of the affair, and Hazard will get his opportunity for a normal contest during the later portion of the match. Bryan Harris: It literally could go either way in this one; each man is going to have a chance to step into his element, now it’s time to see who REALLY took advantage of that innovative opportunity. Roll that footage. Start of Match Footage Garvin runs his dirty fingernails down Hazard’s face, slowly up and down, raking his eyes and digging furrows into his flesh. Hazard fires a blind fist out, backing up at the same time and scrubbing his eyes, trying to put some distance between himself and the unhinged titan known as Garvin. Franks pauses, and then scrambles out of the ring, snatching a chair up near the security railing and getting back into the ring. He screams at Hazard, extending the chair expecting Hazard to take it. Hazard shakes his head firmly from side to side, a resounding no, and Frank howls with frustration, throwing the chair to the side and driving the point of his elbow down against Hazard’s skull, driving the WV native backwards. Hazard finally slams up against one of the turnbuckles back first, shaking his head back and forth and opening his eyes up wide, before blinking them shut again after the effect of that brutal eye rake. Frank follows him in, digging a hand into Hazard’s hair Frank begins to UNLOAD with what seems to be a full clip of headbutts, crushing his skull into Hazard’s skull over and over again, a resounding crack flowing through the arena with each headbutt that connects. Bryan Harris: Christ Almighty! Would you look at that, Garvin apparently doesn’t even care at all about his own well being, using his head as a weapon and sacrificing his own thick skull with each of those devastating headbutts that he lands. Alan Ducard: At least we know Frank’s mental facilities won’t be damaged, there wasn’t much there to begin with… Finally after this barrage, Frank steps back, pushing his lank hair out of his face for a moment. His forehead is dark red from all the blood that has rushed to his head, and it looks almost as though a small vein has burst near his temple. His murky eyes scan the crowd, before once more locking on Hazard. He whispers something that sounds like “You will give me pain” before launching himself forward and bucking up against Hazard, Frank follows through with a hard irish whip, sending Hazard across the ring and into the ropes, and as Hazard rebounds Garvin raises one of his huge boots and smashes it into Hazard’s face. Hazard goes down hard, kicking the toes of his boots against the canvas as he cradles his face in his hands. Jimmy Yates: Hazard is having a HARD time getting out of the starting gate here, and I’ve got a feeling it’s thanks to this No Limits stipulation in the early goings. Frank is basically allowed to do whatever his sewage-filled heart desires… Alan Ducard: And what a scary thought that is. Frank stands over his fallen foe, breathing in so raggedly that he sounds like an asthmatic demon. He drops down to his side and rolls out of the ring, and then he begins to hunt under the apron. After a moment one of his hands rises, and in it is a steel pipe with one end wrapped in barbwire. Frank eyes this weapon with something like perverted desire, and then his tongue slips out to lick one of the barbs. A few little beads of blood fall past his chin, and Frank likes this, his eyes growing bright as he slithers back into the ring on his belly. Hazard has gained a shaky vertical base, and Frank flies forward, looking to DECK Hazard right across the nose, but The One Man Riot ducks just in time and using Franks own momentum, Hazard takes hold of the big man and crushes his huge body into the mat with a powerslam. Alan Ducard: And there’s some offense from this hardnosed West Virginian, he’s showing Frank that he’s not a man to be toyed with. Jimmy Yates: Hazard is a dangerous man, and Garvin is an uncaring destroyer. If that isn’t a recipe for fireworks then I don’t know what is. Somehow Frank has maintained his hold on the steel pipe, and seeing this, Hazard stomps his boot down and begins digging his heel into Garvin’s wrist, trying to force him to drop the pipe. Frank shakes his head back and forth like a feral animal, sweaty brown hair flying about his face, his bloodshot brown eyes consumed by hatred. He gnashes his teeth at Hazard, froth spurting out from between his tombstone chompers. Using his free hand Frank literally CLAWS at the tights of Hazard’s leg, but it’s no use, Hazard just grinds down harder, feeling Frank’s flesh under his boot thrum like a live wire. Bryan Harris: Hell you’d better let him go Hazard; he may bite his own damn arm off just like a rabid wolf caught in a trap. Jimmy Yates: All I know is that judging by this, Garvin is not fit for a wrestling ring; he’s fit for an asylum on some distant hill far away from LEGACY. As Hazard shifts his weight to his other foot, Frank FIRES up, managing to slip his wrist out from under Hazard’s boot, and he starts to pull himself upwards, swinging out with the pipe in desperation. Hazard jumps back, the pipe mere inches form his abdomen, while at the same time bringing a clubbing blow down that connects with the side of Frank’s elbow, forcing him to finally lose his grip on the pipe. Once more enraged to have lost his weapon, Franks bounds up to his feet, but Hazard catches him around the neck, swinging him down to the canvas with a unique neckbreaker. Alan Ducard: Hazard’s CANNONBALL NECKBREAKER just got unleashed in there; hopefully it took some steam out of Garvin’s hellish engine. Jimmy Yates: I don’t know Alan. He’s already stirring… Seconds after Garvin gets blasted into the mat, the big man is struggling to get back up. He sees Hazard rising as well, and Hazard bends down and picks up the steel pipe, brandishing it towards Frank and pointing it at him. Garvin stumbles forward, towards Hazard, and then in a totally grotesque moment, Frank drops to his knees in front of Hazard, flinging his arms up towards the heavens, his eyes rolled back into his head in some form of sick ecstasy. He looks at Hazard, his pupils reappearing, and he screams with spittle flying from his mouth in messy strings. frank GARVIN: THE SUFFERING. THE SWEEEEET SUFFERING!!!! I WAAAANNTTTTT… Hazard’s lip curls upwards in a disgusted snarl, and he bring the pipe up, and then thinks better of it, dropping it to his side and snapping a kick towards Frank’s shoulder. But just as Hazard’s foot connects with Frank’s shoulder, Garvin ensnares it with both meaty arms and FLINGS Hazard backwards. The One Man Riot flips through the air before smashing down against the canvas on his stomach, and Frank is right there, crawling towards him and flipping Hazard over onto his back. Franks rears back, and then BURROWS his fingers into Hazard’s mouth and starts stretching his flesh as though it were canvas, pulling at the sides of Hazard’s mouth to the point where the skin is so taut that it looks close to snapping. While still stretching Hazard’s face into a forced rictus, Frank stands up, bringing Hazard up to his feet. Garvin removes one of his hands from Hazard’s mouth and winds his arm all the way back, and then he BARRELS a closed fist into the side of Hazard’s injured mouth, while also releasing his hold on Hazard’s mouth and allowing him to fall to the canvas. Bryan Harris: Oh my god that is sick, that is hideous, Garvin just ripped the man’s mouth and manipulated it like clay, I think I’m going to lose my lunch. Alan Ducard: The CROOKED SMILE is a loathsome maneuver to bear witness to, and I don’t want to imagine the level of pain Hazard is going through right now. Frank seems almost to swoon; he takes his thumbs and digs them into his own cheeks, forcing himself to smile while spinning in a circle like a happy child. It would look almost like a small boy having fun on a summer day if it wasn’t a near seven foot masochist doing it. After this eerie little ritual is complete, Frank stops and moves towards the apron, where he digs down and comes out with a strand of barbwire about 20 feet long. Garvin looks out at the crowd, a fog seeming to descend over his eyes, and very slowly, he begins to wrap the barbwire around his arm, starting around the elbow and working his way up. He wraps it as tight as he can, bringing blood to the surface of his skin, and by the time he’s finished wrapping the barbwire around his fist, his arm from elbow to fist is nothing more than a bloody carving of meat. Frank lets a little moan escapes his lips, and then he runs his mangled arm across his face, scrubbing his features with blood and opening little cuts up along his cheeks and forehead. Jimmy Yates: This is just plain foul, this man is mentally ill, and I feel ashamed of myself just for having to watch this. Bryan Harris: I hear that. I don’t know if I’m watching a wrestling match or one of the Hellraiser movies, honestly I’m just not sure at this point. Garvin stalks behind Hazard, waiting for him to rise. Once The One Man Riot is on his feet, he spins around, only to be met with a fist covered in sharp and rusted metal. The punch explodes against Hazard’s recently broken nose, sending a gush of blood flowing from one nostril, and before Hazard can even take a breath, that fist descends against, blasting him across the cheekbone. Hazard falls, very dazed and in a world of hurt, and Frank follows him down. Garvin cradles the back of Hazard’s head, almost tenderly, and then he winds back with his barbwire covered arm, and then his arm begins to work like a piston. The punches rain down in a bloody typhoon, splattering Garvin and Hazard’s blood together to the point where you wouldn’t be able to tell whose is whose. After a few moments, Garvin pauses to examine his handiwork. Hazard’s face could be confused with raw hamburger at this point; it looks almost like his entire mug is a bleeding wound. Garvin raises his own arm up, drawing his fingers into a fist and hissing with pleasure as the pain shoots up past his spinal column. Frank falls back, momentarily exhausted from his assault and possibly thanks to blood loss as well. Alan Ducard: This is getting bad. It’s really starting to resemble a crime scene in there right about now, and I really don’t know what else these men can do to each other. Josephina Colbert: As the five minute mark has been reached, the remainder of this match will be contested under regular rules!! Jimmy Yates: Whooo! I think Hazard was just saved by the bell, if this would have gotten worse I don’t know what would be left of these men when it’s all said and done. Bryan Harris: The damage may be done though Jimbo, Hazard is a mess, and Garvin is flirting with agony and taking great pleasure in the act. We’ll see if either man can capitalize at this point… Leonard Nolan takes a moment kick all foreign objects out of the ring, and very cautiously while Garvin is down and dazed he unwraps the barbwire from the man’s arm and flings it outside the ring, then he twirls his fingers towards the timekeeper and the bell rings for the second time in the match, signaling the second half. As though by some miracle, Hazard has begun to stir. The man is a bloody mess, but he’s using the ropes to make it up on spaghetti legs. Garvin sees this, and fighting exhaustion, he pushes up to his feet while gritting his teeth. Frank wheels on Hazard like a mad bull, charging forward and lowering his head, but in a split second, Hazard flips the bigger man down to the canvas with a snap suplex. Hazard wastes no motion, climbing to the second rope of one turnbuckle while wiping a coating of blood from his forehead. The One Man Riot leaps, and plants a fist drop right into the demented face of Frank Garvin. Garvin’s legs flop outward on reflex, and he rolls over on his stomach in pain. Alan Ducard: Look at Hazard, now that the match has been transitioned into regular rules, this hard-nosed West Virginian is showing the LEGACY universe his mettle. Jimmy Yates: Better late than never. Hazard stalks behind Garvin, waiting for the monstrous competitor to rise, and once he does Hazard shoots himself forward and locks Garvin’s arms up into a full nelson predicament. Frank fights it, swinging his body from side to side like a boneless eel, but before he can break out of the hold Hazard releases it and begins to rain down clubbing blows on Garvin’s shoulders and the back of his neck. Frank loses his footing, dropping down to one knee, and this gives Hazard his opening. Hazard runs the ropes and on the rebound he plants a foot on Garvin’s shoulder for leverage and DRILLS his other boot into Garvin’s temple with a devastating shining wizard kick. Frank falls directly on his face, a string of saliva dripping from his mouth. Bryan Harris: HOT DAMN! That boy must have rocks in his boot, Garvin almost got decapitated! Jimmy Yates: That shining wizard took a lot out of the masochist, Frank looks out of it at this point guys… Hazard flails backwards towards the rope, gripping them tightly and breathing hard, obviously running on fumes at this point due to blood loss and ring wear. Garvin stays down, his face buried against the canvas; his only signs of life are the moments when he scrubs his face against the canvas, as though pain will bring him back into the game. Hazard finally gets his legs under him, and he makes a beeline for Frank, lifting the bigger man up off the canvas slowly, but suddenly Frank fires up and FLINGS Hazard’s arms off of him, and using all that strength and power, Garvin seizes Hazard and pulls him down into a headscissors predicament. Garvin’s eyes are wild and primal, his gaze sweeping the crowd with murderous intensity. Bryan Harris: Frank has him where he wants him; the freakzilla seems to be getting a second wind in there now! Jimmy Yates: Fight this Hazard; it’s your only chance! Garvin grits his teeth and REARS upwards, pulling Hazard up onto his shoulders. The grizzled Huntington competitor throws hard fists down into Garvin’s upturned face, fighting to win, fighting for his very life. Garvin wheels backwards precariously, as though he may loose his footing, but finally his leverage wins out, and Garvin SMASHES Hazard into the canvas with his jackknife powerbomb, sending shockwaves along the canvas. Hazard lands on the side of his neck and shoulders, the light going out of his eyes as he touches down fully and remains perfectly still. Alan Ducard: THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS!!!! THAT’S THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THIS STORY! Garvin seems almost distracted, his glazed vision swimming with unknown emotions. He falls downward and makes a lackluster cover, seeming as though he’s at least moderately satisfied with his handiwork. ONE! TWO! THREE! Josephina Colbert: HERE IS YOUR WINNER, FRANK GARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRVIN!!!! Garvin stands up, pushing off of Hazard’s chest. The freakish lunatic then begins to pull strands of his own hair while whispering down to Hazard, something like “friends and pain, pain and friends, pain for friends” over and over again in some ritualistic chant that is sure to unnerve anyone. Finally Garvin stalks towards the ropes, exiting the ring and making his way towards the back. Jimmy Yates: In one of the most anticipated matches of the night, Frank Garvin gets a big win over Hazard, but I'd be very surprised if things are over between these two! Bryan Harris: Yeah, no joke, whiz kid! Frank Garvin wants to pull Hazard back into hardcore competition, and he didn't accomplish that here tonight. Alan Ducard: Judging from what we saw, Hazard is holding fast to his convictions to stay in regular competition, and that could be a big part of the reason he lost this match. Bryan Harris: Well if it is, then Hazard's a damned fool, because he got his ass kicked tonight in a very bad way, and he's got the skills that he could've won this match and put Frank Garvin down once and for all, but now, I wouldn'e be surprised if Hazard had to deal with Garvin again in the future. Jimmy Yates: I'm not sure what it's going to take to get Frank Garvin off of Hazard's case, but what I do know is that tonight probably won't be the end.
A slightly nervous looking Intern Avery stands at the gorilla position, in between both members of El Chupacabra, a microphone in his hand. Both Diego de Cardenas and Hector Rodriguez look ready to get to the ring, but they've been tapped to give an interview. Intern Avery George: Diego, Hector, as your paths once again cross with that of ANARCHY... Diego reaches out and takes the microphone from Avery, stopping the two-sided interview. He does so in a matter-of-fact type of way, no real violence involved, just sort of an "I'll take this..." type of motion. Avery takes a step back, realizing his job for the moment is over. Diego de Cardenas: Yeah, I'll do the honors. Hector waves his hand in the intern's direction, and he scurries off. Diego de Cardenas: Seems every time a big show comes around, who does El Chupacabra find itself up against? ANARCHY. Back at LEGACY X? They we had our third tag match against them. STRIFE 47 and SuperCard STRIFE 50? We were across the ring from them at that show, too. Stepping up, Hector speaks his mind. Hector Rodriguez: Tonight? We end this. We're tired of wasting our time with them, and we're pretty sure that most of you out there are tired of seeing the oldest tag team in the business trying to get Cirque du Mofo one step closer to dominating the entire show. Diego de Cardenas: ANARCHY's not as good as El Chupacabra. Most of the tag team division doesn't have half the experience we do as a cohesive unit... and most of them don't combined have the amount of skill that mi hombre Hector has. Hector Rodriguez: Tonight, we not only set out to beat ANARCHY, but we hope to retire them to keep the LEGACY fans from having to waste their time with them anymore... and we make a plea to the front office to give the fans what they deserve - the best tag team in the business - us, El Chupacabra - back in line to get a shot at the World Tag Team Championships... Diego de Cardenas: Yeah, and that match? It needs to happen at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. Make it happen. Dropping the microphone to the floor, Diego smirks, then he turns and walks through the curtain.
Alan Ducard: Our second tag team match of the night is one with a lot of history, as this is not the first time that ANARCHY and El Chupacabra have met inside a LEGACY ring. Jimmy Yates: It was Diego de Cardenas who put the ball in motion a few weeks ago, helping H.g.H. pick up a pinfall victory against ANARCHY in a triple threat tag team match, and then he made the challenge for tonight's match. Bryan Harris: With Loco Martinez as World Champion, ANARCHY is getting a lot of camera time, getting talked up a bit for another shot at the World Tag Team Championships like they got not long ago... and obviously Diego de Cardenas and Hector Rodriguez aren't happy about being cast aside. They want to get back to the top of the division, and how can you blame them? Alan Ducard: If you recall, it was El Chupacabra who ended Domination's first reign with the World Tag Team Championships, and as of yet they haven't received a clear shot at doing it again during Domination's second reign with the straps. Jimmy Yates: I'd imagine that if El Chupacabra can win tonight, they'll be seeing another title shot in the very near future, but ANARCHY does look very determined to try to bring home more gold to the Cirque du Mofo, so don't count them out just yet. Let's get to the footage and see what happened here in the sixth encounter between ANARCHY and El Chupacabra. Start of Match Footage We cut to the match with T.Rex in the ring, pummelling Diego with several
repeated short-arm clotheslines, nearly turning him inside out. Josephina Colbert: Ladies and Gentlemen, your winners of the match… T. Rex and Arch Angel… ANARCHY!!! Bryan Harris: Well, the better team truly won tonight!Jimmy Yates: Looks like we’re not done here! After the match, Diego gets into the ring to check on Hector, and ANARCHY gets back into the ring. T.Rex pulls Diego away and slams Cardenas with a Power Slam. Alan Ducard: Now that’s just absolutely uncalled for! After stomping down on the side of Hector's leg, Arch Angel steps down on the uninjured leg, grabbing Hector by the ankle of the injured leg. Running into the ropes for momentum, T.Rex rushes in and dives into Hector's prone leg, flpping him over onto his stomach just as Hector lets go. Diego struggles to get back to Hector, but Arch Angel sends him back down to the mat with a clothesline. The fans, who have been booing since the post-match beating started, now turn their reaction to cheers. The camera switches over to a view of the entrance ramp and we watch as Hannah runs out, gets into the ring and covers Diego up. ANARCHY then walks off, sneering at Hector and Diego as a stretcher is taken to get Hector out of the ring. Bryan Harris: This was excellent! Jimmy Yates: Excellent? It looks like Hector’s gonna be out for a while and Diego took a beating because it wasn’t enough for Anarchy to win the match, so they beat a team up while they were down. Real classy!
We hear a familiar song for those that remember Loco Martinez and
X-Calibur's last pay per view hype video. The slow guitar of Metallica's
"Nothing Else Matters". Cowboy: "I reckon you ain't familiar with these here parts" Shot of a Legacy Ring. "You know, there's a story behind that there saloon" The Breaking Point Cell lowers over the ring. "Twenty years ago, two outlaws took this whole town over" A shot of Loco Martinez cavorting with the rest of the Cirque. Bryan Harris: It's now time for the main event of the evening, and for those of you who are like me and enjoy when things get hardcore? Get ready for some fun. Jimmy Yates: If the previous two matches between Chris Turner and Damien Black are any indication, tonight's pre-show main event will be filled with brutality. Alan Ducard: The past two times these two met, things got so out of control and so violent that on both occasions it looked as though one of the competitors might not come out of the match with their life, leading the front office to ban these two from No Limits competition for over a year following their second match - an unsanctioned Warehouse match. Bryan Harris: These two guys are crazy, sadistic, masochistic animals, and they're two of the best in the business at inflicting and taking pain. For a while there, during their ban from the No Limits division, we saw that Chris Turner and Damien Black respected one another to a certain degree as they decided to team up and go at the tag team division as the team known as "Unholy Alliance". Jimmy Yates: Although the tandem lasted longer than I thought it would - longer than MOST people thought it would - it all broke down in the end, and just a few weeks ago we saw Chris Turner attack Damien Black backstage - citing the fact that although they were both banned from No Limits competition at the same time, it was Damien Black who got the first crack at returning to the division - which actually lead to Damien Black dethroning long-time No Limits champion Issac Entragian and taking home the gold. Bryan Harris: Jealousy's a bitch, aint it? Alan Ducard: Chris Turner certainly felt that if he was given the chance at the No Limits title first, he'd be the one to have held the gold. Jimmy Yates: Not long ago it was Crazy Boy who defeated Damien Black for the No Limits Title, so because of that, tonight's match doesn't have any championship gold on the line, but you can bet that whoever wins this match will be in serious consideration to get the shot at the No Limits title at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. Let's get to the footage and see what transpired. Start of Match Footage Damien Black whips Turner into the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Turner ducks the clothesline and rebounds off the other side and dives through the air hitting Black with a flying axe handle, but it doesn't knock the big man off his feet. he just staggers back a step. turner runs and tries again hitting a second flying axe handle, but he still can't knock Black off his feet. Black is wobbly and trying to regain his balance, Turner runs and rebounds off the ropes a third time, but changes his game plan and goes for a cross body block, but black catches him and switches the momentum and slams Turner hard into the mat. Damien looks up and eyes a black silk bag in the corner. Alan Ducard: Normally the third time is a charm, but it wasn't for Turner, and it looks like things are about to get worse. Jimmy Yates: Damien is eyeing up one of those black bags in the corner. There is one under each corner. They each brought two bags to this No Limits match and the ref placed one in each corner under the bottom turnbuckle. Bryan Harris: Not only do we not know what is in those bags, but Damien doesn't know what Turner has brought and vice-versa. This is going to be a hell of a mess before it's all said and done. Damien doesn't even bother to get to his feet as he crawls over Turner and heads towards a corner to grab a bag. Jimmy Yates: Possibly a big mistake from Black there as he doesn't go for the pin, but instead chooses to inflict more punishment. Bryan Harris: We've seen the battles these two have been in, he knows Turner isn't anywhere near finished yet. Black reaches out to grab one of the black silk bags, but Turner grabs his foot and pulls him away. Black kicks Turner away and gets to his feet. Both men stare down in the center of the ring and then start exchanging blows. Black sends a kick to Turners thigh and then sweeps his legs out from underneath him. Black goes to follow it up with a quick elbow drop, but Turner rolls out of the way and slides out of the ring with Black going right after him. Turner yells at Josephina Colbert to get out of her chair, he quickly looks over his shoulder and sees that Black is almost there. Thinking quick before Josephina can even get out of the way Turner grabs the ring bell from the time keeper's table and waffles Black with it. Black stumbles backwards and Turner hops up onto the time keeper's table which wobbles as it isn't used to that kind of weight. Luckily for Turner he jumps off before the table can crumble under his weight, unlucky for him as he sails through the air looking to bring the ring bell down on Blacks head, Black steps back and puts his leg up sending the ring bell back into Turners face. Alan Ducard: Turner just got his bell rung. Jimmy Yates: Turner got lucky the kick sent the wooden part of the ring bell into his forehead and not the metal ring bell. Bryan Harris: You go tell Turner he was lucky, because I don't think he feels lucky after that. Black shakes his head trying to knock free some of the cobwebs from the ring bell shot he took. He then climbs back into the ring and looks from corner to corner. He walks over to the nearest corner picks up the bag and before even checking to see what is in it sets it down. Alan Ducard: It' looks like he is searching for something in particular. Question is it something he brought, or something he thinks Turner brought? Black goes to another corner and picks up the bag he is about to open it when Turner slides into the ring wielding a chair. Turner reaches back and swings the chair like he's aiming for the fences and connects with Black's back. The force sends Black chest first into the turnbuckle and knocks the wind out of him, while also causing him to drop the bag. Turner gets a glimpse of what's in the bag and drops the chair and grabs the bag and pulls out Damien Black's mask. Turner puts on the mask and grabs the chair again. As Damien turns around he sees the mask and freaks. Turner swings the chair, but Black ducks and spins around with an Asiatic spike to Turners throat causing him to drop the chair and grab his throat gasping for breath. Black rips the mask off his face smashes him in the face with it before putting the mask on himself. Alan Ducard: That is the mask Turner stole from Black, and it was obvious that Black was going to do what ever needed to get it back. Jimmy Yates: It looks like Turner has been busted open, but he's still getting up to his feet. Bryan Harris: Turner still has more tricks up his sleeve, but he might need to use another one now. As Turner gets to his feet Black sneaks up behind him and attempts to lock in the Black Plague triangle choke, but Turner quickly back peddles slamming Black into the corner. Jimmy Yates: Smart move by Turner, but Black hasn't let go. Turner is starting to fade and drops to one knee, but a wicked smile crosses his face. He reaches down and grabs the black bag in the corner and doesn't even bother to open it. He swings it over his shoulder and smashes Black in the face with it causing Black to release his grip. Turner crawls forward trying to catch his breath. He then gets to his feet and opens up the bag and pours out the contents in the middle of the ring. Bryan Harris: It's glass Christmas ornaments reminiscent of Black and Turner's warehouse brawl, and they have been shattered on Damiens's face. The broken shards of glass int he center of the ring Turner goes to the corner and kicks Black in the gut and then goes to bulldog him into the glass, but Black lifts Turner up and just throws him across the ring causing Turner to land and roll out of the ring to the outside mat. Turner reaches under the ring and pulls out a table and as Black goes to climb out of the ring Turner nails him with it causing him to stumble back into the ring.Turner slides the table into the ring and follows behind it. Turner delivers a dropkick to Black sending him back into the turnbuckles. He then takes a moment to set up the table positioning it right over the broken glass. Jimmy Yates: Turner may be looking to finish the job here. Turner turns around and is rushes towards black, but Damien has his foot resting under the bottom of the previously used chair and lifts his leg and flips the chair up into Turners face. Turner is quick enough to deflect the chair with his arm, but it distracts him enough so that Black lands a vicious elbow smash to his face busting the cut open even more so Turner is wearing the crimson mask. Black lifts Turner up onto the table then grabs the chair and slams it across Turner's chest before placing it on top of him. Black then turns around and starts to climb the turnbuckles. Alan Ducard: Damien black is going for a high risk move here, but if he hits this you have to think it's over. Black gets to the top and goes for a moonsault but at the last second Turner moves out of the way and Black goes through the table and into the piece of glass Christmas ornaments. Black writhes in pain. Bryan Harris: There is a reason why they call those moves high risk. Turner wipes the blood out of his eyes and places an arm across Black's chest. One Two Th..kick out Turner stares on in disbelief. Jimmy Yates: Some how Black digs down deep and kicks out. Alan Ducard: It looks like Turner wants to take this back outside. Turner grabs Black's foot and drags him across the broken glass underneath the bottom rope to the outside.Turner whips black into the guardrail and he hits with a thud before slumping to the floor, but Turner pulls him up and whips him back first into the corner ring post. Turner then reaches down and grabs the small hammer used to ring the bell at the time keepers table. It must have been knocked to the floor earlier when Turner took the ring bell. Turner grabs it and runs ready to ram the hammer into Black's throat, but Black pulls a trick out of Turner's bag from earlier in the night. He reaches under the turn buckle and hopes for one of the black silk bags and finds one and throws it as hard as he can and it hits Turner who immediately falls on his ass. Black kicks the hammer away and tosses the bag into the ring without opening it. He then pulls Black up to his feet partially before setting him up and hitting the Excommunicator cut throat pedigree on the outside. Alan Ducard: Whatever it was that was in that bag it may have knocked Turner clean out as he looks out on his feet, but the Excommunicator may have inflicted enough pain to wake him back up again. Bryan Harris: It looks like Turner may have busted his lip open or maybe even bit through it on that Excomunicator. Jimmy Yates: How can you tell? His face is practically covered in blood. Black rolls Turner into the ring and goes for a pin. One Two The ref stops the count and points and some how Turner reached out and grabbed the bottom rope. Alan Ducard: Turner didn't have the energy to kick out, but he did have the ring presence to reach out and grab the bottom rope to continue this match. Black shakes his head then walks over and grabs the bag he had tossed into the ring and rips it open and his steel chain falls out.Black grabs the chain and as Turner attempts to get to his feet Black sneaks up behind him and wraps the chain under Turner's armpit and around his neck diagonally. He then lifts Turner up onto his shoulder and hits an Emerald Flowsion, sit out running power slam, and then yanks the chain and locks in the Black Plague triangle choke. Alan Ducard: Emerald Flowsion shades of the late great Misawa with Blacks own twist into the Black Plague. Turner doesn't seem to be fighting it after that he may be out. The ref lifts Turners arm and it drops. He lifts it a second time and it drops again. He lifts it a third time and the arm holds for about a second before dropping a third time and the ref calls for the bell. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner by knockout... Damien... Black!!!!! Black gets to his feet and stands over the bloody Turner and jsut looks down as the ref goes to raise his arm, but after a look from Black the ref backs away. Jimmy Yates: Huge victory here by Damien Black, and he finds a way to subdue the animalistic Chris Turner with that great triangle choke he calls The Black Plague. Bryan Harris: A guy as crazy as Chris Turner is going to fight with every last breath he's got, and so Damien Black put him to sleep here to end tonight's match. Alan Ducard: It was a brutal war just as we suspected it would be, and another chapter in the saga between Chris Turner and Damien Black is written. More importantly, the last bell has rung prior to the Glimmer of Hope 2009 pay per view extravaganza, and if you haven't decided yet whether or not you'll be ordering that event, we have one last video compilation for your viewing pleasure.
