After the opening video finishes, we fade in on a shot of Mark Perletta sitting at the recap position. There’s no way of knowing whether he is the only person at the table or not because of how far the camera is zoomed in. Instead of his usually pleasant demeanor, tonight Mark looks very serious. Mark Perletta: Good evening everyone and welcome to STRIFE 26. I’m your host for the LEGACY festivities here tonight, but one individual whom you are used to seeing is not here, and that man is Joey C. The camera zooms out to a two shot, now showing Landon Savage seated next to Perletta. Landon Savage: We were told not to go into details about why Joey C got fired following DESTINED FOR GREATNESS, but I can tell you one thing, it wasn’t for steroids. Mark Perletta: Joey said some very unprofessional things at the end of our pay per view event which had to be edited out of the event footage, and in the talks surrounding a suspension, Joey C made more unprofessional comments and accusations directed towards members of the front office, and that’s why his contract was terminated. Landon Savage: I’m sure you two had some moderately amusing times together in the past few years, but I don’t see any reason why the fans should think the quality of LEGACY broadcasts are going to hurt due to this change in commentary. Mark Perletta: Because we here at LEGACY like having a three man commentary group, we are replacing Joey C with a man who I can personally guarantee is a talented and insightful individual. I can promise you this because I personally hand picked him to be my replacement, because STRIFE 27 – the Super Card – is going to be the last time I commentate STRIFE on a regular basis. I’m moving into a part-time position with LEGACY which should allow me to devote some extra time to my family as well as giving me a chance to develop some scripts I have been working on in an attempt to land a television series pilot. Landon Savage: When I was notified about all this, they told me that you’re probably going to be coming back for at least one of the pay per views for 2008, and a STRIFE broadcast from time to time as your schedule permits. Mark Perletta: That’s correct, and my replacement will be here on STRIFE 28, which was supposed to be the man whom I am about to introduce until we needed a replacement for Joey C for tonight’s broadcast. The man whom I suspect will be a fixture on LEGACY broadcasting for some time to come… Alan Ducard. As the camera zooms out to show the third seat, a man of African heritage walks onto the set and sits down next to Mark Perletta. Mark Perletta: Welcome to STRIFE, Alan. Alan Ducard: Cheers. Pleased to be here. Mark Perletta: In the coming days there will be an interview with Alan Ducard available on the LEGACY website where he talks all about his background, but I can give you the short of it. He hails from England and got interested in our organization when he heard about the potential International expansion of our operations. We liked him so much that we felt this was a more proper place to put him until his wife decides she’s tired of the United States and wants to move back to Europe. Alan Ducard: I may be of British and African heritage, but as you can see, I’m not much the different from most married American males, still lead around by my old lady. I assure you that won’t be a topic of discussion during this broadcasts any more than we’ve already talked about it, so no need to worry with that. Also, I have been watching plenty of the American television shows and practicing with my speech, so you shan’t hear too many words you’re not familiar with. I don’t use much slang in my every day, so I don’t see much reason why it should permeate into these broadcasts. Landon Savage: Already you’re making promises you clearly can’t keep. You’ve talked for two minutes and already you used the word “permeate”. Mark Perletta: Landon, that’s a perfectly acceptable American term… Landon Savage: Riiiight, sticking up for the new guy. I see how it’s going to be. Mike Dexter vs Eli
Storm
Mark Perletta: In our first match of the night, Mike Dexter makes his LEGACY in-ring debut against Eli Storm, who is looking to get back on track after coming up short against Ray Willmott in their 2 out of 3 Submission Falls Match at the pay per view a couple weeks ago. Alan Ducard: His re-debut, you mean. Mike Dexter was actually part of the first LEGACY show, however due to contract issues, he hasn’t been in the ring since then. Landon Savage: He hasn’t been in a LEGACY ring since then, but it’s not like he took the last 15 months off. Mark Perletta: Our concern tonight isn’t with the accomplishments of Mike Dexter in the past year and a half, nor is it with Eli Storm’s past accomplishments. All we’re interested in is how they matched up against one another in the ring here tonight. Alan Ducard: They actually measure up quite favorably with their size and fighting styles. From my research, it appears Eli Storm employs something of a mixed martial arts style, whereas Mike Dexter’s offense is more an extreme, all-around hybrid style of various techniques he claims to have invented, calling it Dex Fu. Landon Savage: Whatever it’s called, I’ve seen Mike Dexter use it against a variety of opponents, and I’ve yet to see a type of competitor it won’t work against. Mark Perletta: Eli Storm hasn’t had the kind of success in LEGACY he was probably hoping for, starting out with some success against Rocky Stellar and then failing to defeat Ray Willmott at this past pay per view. You know that Eli wants to get things started again and gain some momentum. Alan Ducard: No matter who wins the match, it was an exciting way to start off STRIFE 26. Start : Footage from the Match Spinning around, Eli drills Mike in the gut with a back thrust kick, doubling him over. Stepping to the side of him, Storm runs right past Dexter and heads towards the corner, hopping up onto the second turnbuckle with one leg, turning, and springing off towards the center of the ring, taking Dexter down with a clothesline from behind. Alan Ducard: Crafty move by Eli Storm, getting an unconventional takedown. As quickly as he can, Eli gets out onto the apron and, spotting Dex getting up off the mat, Storm rushes to get up to the top rope. As soon as Dexter turns around to face Eli, Storm hops off the top rope and goes for a double axhandle, but Mike takes a step forwards and drops down to one knee, causing Eli to not make any impact with him at all. Rising up to his feet, Dexter easily puts Eli onto his shoulder, then turns around, grabs Eli by the back of his knees and whips him forwards, throwing Storm down to the mat onto his back with a modified spinebuster. Mark Perletta: Mike Dexter pulling off a power move on Eli, and this could be a good opening for The Dexecutioner. Landon Savage: Ugh, I hate that nickname… Lifting Eli up off the mat, Mike goes for an irish whip towards the corner, but Storm reverses it, pulling Dexter right into a knee to the gut. Holding the advantage, Storm sends Mike into the far corner with an irish whip of his own, following in not too far behind and hitting a running knee to the gut. Balancing himself up on the bottom rope, Eli grabs Dexter around the neck and then springs off the second rope, his feet hit the mat and he springs forward, diving and taking Mike down to the mat with a bulldog takedown. Alan Ducard: Smart combination by the Canadian Storm to hit that trio of moves all in rapid sequence, driving the breath right from Mike Dexter. Mark Perletta: Now he’s showing some of his trademark arrogance by not following it up right away, and Mike Dexter is working his way up off the mat. Landon Savage: Here he goes, Eli getting right back in there. Taking Mike Dexter by the wrist, Eli Storm goes for an irish whip, but Mike reverses the attempt. As Eli rebounds off the ropes, Dexter appears dazed until just before Eli gets to him, and at that moment Mike reaches out and in one fluid motion quickly whips Storm around and drops him onto the mat with a powerslam. Mark Perletta: Just when you think Eli Storm was poised to win this match, Mike Dexter puts himself right back in control. Alan Ducard: Unlike Eli, Mike Dexter isn’t going to be wasting any bit of time before continuing his attack. Hoisting Eli up by his hair, Dexter pulls Storm up off the mat and whips him across the ring into the far corner. Running in only a few steps behind, Mike Dexter follows Eli into the corner, leaping when he’s only a few feet away, raising his knees and sending them into Eli’s chest while at the same time driving downwards with both arms, connecting with clubbing blows which drill Storm on either side of his head. Dexter hops back halfway across the ring, turns to the side and waits. As Eli Storm stumbles out of the corner towards the center of the ring, Mike Dexter takes a few quick steps forwards and connects with a step-in superkick to the jaw which flattens Storm down to the mat. Dexter collapses to his knees, hooks the leg and goes for the pinfall. One… Two… Three. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner by pinfall… “The Dexecutioner”… Mike… Dexter!! Mark Perletta: That’s the move Mike Dexter calls “The Last Mile”, his Dex-Fu version of a superkick, and it's apparently quite effective. Alan Ducard: With results like that, I imagine we're going to be seeing "The Last Mile" on a regular basis. Eli Storm is a great competitor, so this was a big win for Mike Dexter in his debut. Landon Savage: Say what you will about that superkick, Eli Storm is a tough competitor, and if it weren't for that other move... the double knees and double forearm shots to the head... I think Eli could've avoided the superkick. Mark Perletta: I will admit, when Dexter ran into the corner, I certainly wasn't expecting such an impactful move, so it probably caught Eli Storm off guard. Alan Ducard: I have to watch it again to be sure, but I believe Mike Dexter may have connected with his elbows instead of his forearms, and if that is the case, that puts an extra bit of impact. Mark Perletta: Either way, Mike Dexter gets the big win over Eli Storm, and for whatever reason he doesn't look too pleased with it. A Former Champion Returns
The arena is buzzing from the promise of the LEGACY action to come tonight, but nothing could have prepared them for what is about to happen. A familiar drumbeat hits, and grabs the attention of every person in the building. The seconds tick by as the beat continues, and then the main guitar begins to rock through the PA system. Metallica’s “Outlaw Torn” is playing, and that could only mean one thing, couldn’t it? The crowd anticipation builds as the seconds continue to tick away, and suddenly, the arena darkness. And now I wait my whole lifetime Mark Perletta: I’m not crazy gentlemen, I am hearing this right? Alan Ducard: You are hearing this, chap, but we aren’t scheduled to be hearing it! Landon Savage: Not scheduled, not advertised, but these LEGACY fans don’t care! Listen to them guys, they are hoping, praying that this is not some sort of sick joke being pulled by some member of the LEGACY locker room. A spotlight begins to travel up the ramp towards the entrance. This had to be happening didn’t it? It wasn’t announced by any means, but it had to be happening! I ride the dirt I ride the tide The LEGACY Vision jumbotron flashes to life and on the screen we see the insignia of “The Outlaw” with that rebel skull, and then rapid fire shots of The Outlaw delivering the KILLSHOT to a number of competitors including Nicolas Creed, Marcus Marion, Dan Stein, and Stephen Rawlings. This goes into a loop with the return of that rebel skull and “The Outlaw” in blood red, dripping letters flashing. To take back what you left me Mark Perletta: This is his entrance package, his video! This has to be guys, after all of these months, after all of this time! Alan Ducard: This would be one hell of a surprise, and while I’m more for getting down to business, you have to admit if this is him, he knows out to make an entrance. Landon Savage: And he deserves this entrance. He was LEGACY Champion for even now an unprecedented 259 days, and dare I say it, he was the original leader of LEGACY. He was one of the foundations and original heroes of this company. Outlaw of torn With the first mention of “Outlaw” the curtain parts and there before the LEGACY crowd is none other than The Outlaw himself, Greyson Blade. As he steps out from the curtain the anticipation that had reached a feverish pitch explodes in a cheer that could be best described as a roar. Landon’s comments ring true as the fans begin showering the love and respect down on the man who they raised up to represent them. Greyson stands in the spot light dressed in a black “The Outlaw” t-shirt with the LEGACY logo on it, blue jeans, and black LUGZ boots. His hair is covered by a red bandana. Blade looks around at the crowd, and for a moment he doesn’t show the trademark intensity and determination. For once, for the reaction of this LEGACY crowd, The Outlaw simply smiles, and begins making his way towards the ring. Mark Perletta: It is The Outlaw! He’s back here in LEGACY! Alan Ducard: And now come the questions of why, how, who … the scraps he left of Marcus Marion were cleaned up at Destined for Greatness by Justin Moreno. Landon Savage: I’m sure he’ll clue us in on things, Alan. He’s just enjoying this “homecoming” to LEGACY, and he should. It’s been almost eight months. As “Outlaw Torn” continues to rock the arena, a “Welcome Back” chant begins to build up through the crowd, and The Outlaw steps inside the ring where he goes to each turnbuckle and raises an arm to the fans, recognizing their respect for him, and once more taking up representation for them. Finally, The Outlaw steps down from the last turnbuckles, and moves to the center of the ring. He has a microphone in his hand, and it looks like the questions from Alan Ducard will be answered. The Outlaw: Eight months. Eight long months I’ve been away from this company, away from a LEGACY ring, and tonight couldn’t have come a moment too soon. The fans seem to agree as a “Blade” chant begins to pick up through the crowd, and Blade nods to the fans as he continues. The Outlaw: No it couldn’t have come a moment too soon, because I have some unfinished business that I need to take care of inside the ring. Now, up until the past month or so I’m sure you could have guessed that my number one priority would be to take out the man who orchestrated my downfall, the man who used Nicolas Creed and Jake Blaine and others to attack me around every turn, the man who used four people to finally wrestle the title away from me. Believe me I had my sights set on Marcus Marion, but I had my revenge and Justin Moreno had his, and now that chapter of my career is finished. The Outlaw’s smile upon his entrance and being finished with Marion now fades, and you guessed it, that intensity has returned. The Outlaw: So without needing another pound of flesh from that son of a bitch, one might wonder what my goal is going to be in LEGACY. Well, I would think one of those goals is going to be painfully obvious, and that goal is to get back what’s mine, a belt that belongs around my waist. There’s HUGE reaction to that thought as the idea of The Outlaw putting a beating down on Loco Martinez fills the head of every fan in attendance. Mark Perletta: Loco Martinez vs. Greyson Blade? That would be a dream match! Alan Ducard: It very well might be, especially with Loco’s change in attitude from when Blade was still wearing the strap. Landon Savage: Well the fans definitely would enjoy seeing it, but we do have a match to crown a new number one contender this show. Blade has to be aware of that fact. Blade recognizes what the crowd is thinking and he looks off as if pondering that match before continuing. The Outlaw: Now, I damn sure do believe that since I never had a rematch for my LEGACY World Title, that in the future I will get the shot to take back what is mine. If that means I have to rip it out of that damn trophy case and beat Loco Martinez half to death with that belt before pinning him in the ring to get it… so be it. Whether that happens or not, I don’t know, because with all the talk of Number One Contenders these days, Martinez might not even be champion when I decide to challenge for the belt. Hell, Loco could actually lose and another could be champion when I decide to challenge for the belt. The bottom line is though that I know what I want and I aim to get it, but first, I need to get back one more thing that’s mine, and that is going to take priority over the gold. The crowd although still cheering seems a bit confused by what they are hearing, and so are the announcers. Mark Perletta: What is he talking about here? Alan Ducard: Well, he’s answered a lot so far, let’s just see where he goes with this Landon Savage: I think I have an idea of where he’s going but … better him tell you. The Outlaw: I’m here in LEGACY first and foremost to get back something I lost as LEGACY World Champion. You see, once I captured that belt I became a target. Sure I dished out a hell of a lot of punishment, but I feel prey to the bull’s-eye on my back. You see I went from being proactive to being reactive. The fact is, even though Marcus Marion set me up and used a lot of bullshit to take the title from me, it should have never happened. It should have never happened because I never should have given him the chance. I should have buried his ass before he even had the chance. I waited for the challenges to come to me. I should have been out there hunting instead of playing the hunted just because I have a damn belt. Frankly, while it was one of the greatest title runs in history, I’m damn sure not satisfied with how it ended. The Outlaw’s intensity is truly shining through and you can sense his disgust at what had happened to end his championship run. The Outlaw: I’m the motherf*cking Outlaw, and here I am playing by the rules and limiting myself, and yet it was having a NO LIMITS attitude and a killer instinct that brought me world championships and all the accolades in my career. It was having NO LIMITS and that killer mentality that earned your respect for giving everything to a fight and a feud that I had. The fact is before I can be LEGACY World Champion again, I aim to get back that killer instinct, and I am to re-establish myself as a NO LIMITS competitor. There’s a buzz around the arena and Greyson isn’t being overly subtle here. The fans know what he wants to do, and they cheer with approval, thinking of Blade’s matches inside cages, inside the Hardcore House of Pain, and working hardcore ironman matches. They like the idea of seeing Greyson re-enter his true element. The Outlaw: I’m here to beat some ass and spill
some blood people. I’m here and I’m looking for a f*cking
fight. LEGACY, I’m back. The TRUE Outlaw is back, and now that
I’ve answered a lot questions, it’s time I get an answer.
Who is going to be first in line? Mark Perletta: Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen, The Outlaw is back in LEGACY, and he’s looking for a fight. Who do you want to see taking up that challenge guys? Alan Ducard: At this point with that intensity, I’m not sure anyone is going to want to take that challenge, but I’m sure Rob Belote and Smith Cartwright will find unlucky chap to step into the ring with him. Landon Savage: Greyson is looking for No Limits, and we’ve had a hell of a lot of great matches with guys in that division as of late. Awesome-o, Damien Black, hell how about even Isaac Entrigan? There’s a lot of possibilities here guys, we just have to see who is going to be the first one to sign on the dotted line. Collusion
Halfway across the makeshift catering room, the camera spots Ron Bailey step through a door. Immediately he spots his friend John Thomas sitting in one of the corners, talking to Anastasia Ewing, who is standing nearby with an enamored smile on her face. Ron nods his head at John, who nods back. John says a few inaudible words to his favorite female road agent, and she walks off, still a smile on her face. The cameraman gets closer, setting his camera down on a nearby table, close enough to catch the audio of the conversation and making sure to keep both men visible in the frame of footage. Ron Bailey: What’s up, Johnny boy? You and Anny have a good time at the beach? Not saying anything, John replies with a grin and a shrug of the shoulders. It’s obvious that the two don’t realize that their conversation is being recorded. Ron Bailey: How much longer you staying in on that? John shrugs again. John Thomas: We’ll see. Best deal I’ve got going on right now… but you never know when something else is going to show up. Ron Bailey: Yeah, I know you got your eye on Josey… maybe if you played your cards right… John lets out a quick laugh. John Thomas: Anything’s possible, and Anny’s a little more… “open to new things” than I thought she might be. She might’ve voted for George Bush in the last elections, but she’s not exactly “conservative”, if you catch my drift. Ron looks impressed. Ron Bailey: I’m sure she knows that you’re a high roller and with your rep, you could find someone else right quick, and she’s just trying to make sure she’s the one on your arm, that’s all. Front office hasn’t said anything yet? John shakes his head. John Thomas: Nah, they don’t really care since it isn’t affecting anything. I don’t know how much they know. Someone said something to Anny a few weeks ago, but we’ve just been… playing careful since then. Ron Bailey: Hell, maybe the front office needs to be playing careful. You’re all set to be one of the top draws around here, Johnny. Everybody knows that if Stellar would’ve been able to show up at the pay per view, you would’ve buried his “legend” ass, put his career to an end once and for all. John reaches out and playfully smacks Ron in the arm with the back of his hand. John Thomas: That reminds me, nice work. Ron grins. Ron Bailey: With what? John looks surprised. John Thomas: “With what?” With getting that mask from *mockingly* Strong Style Dragon Cade Sydal. Ron lifts his eyebrows and grins. Ron Bailey: Yeah, having that belt would’ve been nice, but that mask is one hell of a consolation prize. John nearly laughs, then he realizes something. John Thomas: Hey wait, you’re not one to let things slip your mind and you don’t typically play around with things you’re proud of… you did something else at Destined for Greatness too, didn’t you? Ron grins. Ron Bailey: I got made an offer I couldn’t refuse for some easy money. John turns his head slightly to the side. John Thomas: Sounds like Big Lou made you a call… Ron leans back in his chair. Ron Bailey: It was too easy, man. Lou put me in touch with some guy who gave me some stuff to inject into a water bottle without being detectable. I delivered the water bottles to my “boys” and wish them good luck against Gryffin and Win, Logan thinks I’m on the up-and-up because of all the money I’m helping him win… John Thomas: …and he thinks you’re betting on his boys to win. Ron nods. Ron Bailey: Exactly. Something else occurs to John. John Thomas: Wait, only one of those guys got sick, right? What if it didn’t work out like it was supposed to? The look of pride never leaves Ron’s face. Ron Bailey: Only one of the waters had something in it, so I knew one of those guys was going to get sick and the other was going to be alright. If they were both sick, then yeah, somebody might’ve come knocking at my door, but instead, the only person coming knocking at my door were all the dead presidents I won from betting on the champs to retain against “big bad” Domination. Having heard plenty, the cameraman got up from the table, picked up his camera and lifted it to his shoulder, making sure it had been recording, which obviously it had. John and Ron see the cameraman get up, but they don’t think much of it because he didn’t appear to be recording footage for the past couple minutes. Without putting the eye-piece up to his face, the cameraman walks out of the room and down the hall. About fifty feet away he spots Trent Logan and picks up his pace. Cameraman: Mr. Logan! Trent turns and looks a the cameraman out of the corner of his eye and then holds up a hand. Trent Logan: Look, I realize you might be looking for a few words of reaction to what happened at Destined for Greatness, or an update on Steve’s condition, but now’s not the time… Cameraman: No, it’s not that! I’ve got some footage you NEED to see. It involves that “wave of sickness” that came over Mr. O’Reily back in New Orleans, and I can assure you, it wasn’t gumbo that made him sick. Trent looks interested. Cameraman: I suggest we go find Mr. Cartwright, he’s going to want to hear about this, too. Trent motions for the cameraman to follow him down the hall. Trent Logan: Come on, I just saw him a couple minutes ago walking down to that office over there. Percy Wright's Open
Challenge
Mark Perletta: Just as we saw at the pre-show prior to Destined for Greatness, Percy Wright asked for any one of his fellow LEGACY competitors to step up and answer his open challenge. Landon Savage: Without telling you who answered the challenge, there’s not much we can talk about regarding this… encounter. Alan Ducard: We should just get straight on to the footage, then, shall we? Start : Footage from the Match Already standing in the ring with a mic in his hand, Percy Wright addresses the fans wearing a coat and tie, not typical wrestling attire by any means. Percy Wright: Thank you again for another wonderful welcome. Once again I extend my open challenge to the Legacy roster and without further ado, let’s see who is accepting my challenge here tonight. Percy takes off his coat and tosses it over the ring ropes, and begins to remove his tie. The unmistakable guitar riff from Kenny Loggins’ “Highway to the Dangerzone” the Tom Cruise classic about Navy fighter pilots blares in over the speakers and Pat Reynolds walks out through the curtain. Upon spotting his opponent, Percy Wright grins and lifts the microphone. Percy Wright: Hold on, hold on, cut the music… Halfway down the ring, Pat Reynolds slows down his pace. The volume of Racin’ Reynolds’ theme song fades down. Percy Wright: Why would you accept my open challenge? Didn’t you see what I did to Tim Jones a few weeks ago? I know you weren’t on the pay per view OR the pre-show… Reynolds dives into the ring under the bottom rope and gets to his feet. Percy stands there for a moment and waits. Pat reaches out and grabs the microphone out of Percy Wright’s hand. Pat Reynolds: Why? You beat up Tim Jones, who I was hoping to make friends with, and you don’t seem to like people who drink beer, and I like to drink a few while watching a race, live or on television… Before Pat can continue any further, Percy drills him in the face with a hard right hand, rocking him back. Ripping the microphone out of Reynolds’ hand, Wright arches back and strikes Pat in the head, leveling him down to the mat. Dropping to his knees, Percy begins drilling Reynolds repeatedly in the forehead with the microphone, letting up once he has busted Pat open and the blood starts to trickle down his forehead. Mark Perletta: Percy Wright not giving Pat Reynolds a chance at all, just brutalizing him with those right hands, cracking Reynolds open with the aid of that microphone. Alan Ducard: Percy wants to make a name for himself as a tough man despite the attire in which he comes to the ring, and I just see no need to use that microphone or go for the cheap shot Landon Savage: Results are typically all people remember out of situations like this. Not letting up a bit, Percy Wright grabs Pat by his wrist and yanks him up off the mat, sending him into the ropes with an irish whip. On the return just as Reynolds gets near Wright, Percy ducks his shoulder and pivots. Lifting up as soon as Reynolds gets to him, Percy lifts his opponent up off the mat, hops backwards and drives Pat into the mat with a move resembling a Samoan drop. Landon Savage: Nice modification on the otherwise simple move, dropping Reynolds down onto the back of his neck. Alan Ducard: I quite agree, Landon, and the end looks near for Reynolds. Taking Reynolds by the head, Percy drags him over to the side of the ring, ducking down and exiting the ring under the middle rope, still holding Pat’s head. After placing Pat’s neck across the bottom rope, Percy hops back up onto the apron, then gets up to the top rope, turning to face his opponent. Leaping off, Wright drops the back of his leg across Reynolds’ neck before falling down to the arena floor, landing on his feet. Mark Perletta: A devastating legdrop by Percy Wright, and it doesn’t look like he’s sticking around to hear from the referee about attacking Pat Reynolds while he was in the ropes, and he’s not sticking around to collect a victory, either. Landon Savage: You can see it in his eyes as he walks up the ramp, Percy Wright isn’t concerned with getting a pinfall victory, he just got a moral victory inside that ring. Alan Ducard: He certainly wasn't trying to add to his win / loss record. Percy Wright was making a statement. Mark Perletta: Mr. Wright had better be careful. One of these days someone's going to step up and punch him right in the mouth during one of these challenges. Landon Savage: Well until that day I imagine he's going to continue dominating whoever steps in front of him, because in his first two challenges, that's exactly the way I'd describe what happened. Alan Ducard: Only after cheap shotting them and using the microphone as a weapon. Landon Savage: If you'll notice, Pat Reynolds was holding the microphone when he got punched the first time, he could have used it, but he didn't. He was too dazed by that hard right hand he had just gotten knocked down with. Mark Perletta: I don't know if anyone would deny that Percy Wright has a wickedly dangerous right hook, and I certainly won't be the first. A Chance for Revenge
Once the ring has been cleared of both competitors and wiped down by the ring crew, the lights in the arena sharply relinquish, giving way to a pitch black arena with nothing but a crimson red cross displayed on the jumbotron. The holy-esque beginning to "Blow Me Away" by Breaking Benjamin reverberates throughout the arena. When the first gong sends an echo through the air, the entrance way lights up to reveal the silhouette of one Cronos Diamante with his arms stretched out rigidly and his stance which can only be described as "crucifix-like." The second gong sends another echo out to the crowd and the fans are now on their feet. Mark Perletta: What’s going on? Alan Ducard: I think it's obvious that something has changed with Cronos Diamante in the past few months, Mark. This new entrance is evidence of that. Thoughts, Landon? Landon says nothing then suddenly the heavy guitar riffs hit harder than usual, the lights turn back on and crimson red pyrotechnics fill the ramp area. Cronos Diamante steps out from the entrance way and slowly begins the long walk down the ramp. He climbs the steel steps and ducks under the top rope to enter the ring. He turns his back to the announcers table as he asks for Josephina Colbert's microphone and Landon Savage looks as if he's seen a ghost. Mark Perletta: You ok Landon? Landon Savage: The boots. He's wearing the boots again. This does NOT bode well for anybody he might be getting involved with! Alan Ducard: Why is that? Landon Savage: The camouflage was one thing, but you see those three crucifixes on the heel of his right boot? That’s MORE of the old Cronos. That’s more of “the Devil”! Cronos takes a quick look out at the crowd with absolutely no emotion on his face despite the cheers and sparse chanting of his name. Landon Savage: Those three crucifixes have a history and the fact he's wearing those again… I… Cronos Diamante: I'm not wasting any time tonight. This feud, if you can call it that, with Diego de Cardenas is going to come to an end. You want to cheat in a fair fight? You want to have your slut woman attack me during our pay per view match? And you want to have your friend Hector Rodriguez attack me from behind when I clearly had you beaten in the middle of the ring? That's fine. I can deal with that. I actually can. The fans have gone completely quiet now but they're still on their feet. Alan Ducard: I haven't seen anything quite like this before. A full house on their feet and NOT cheering. They’re just standing there and don’t know what to do or what to expect. Mark Perletta: I'm not paying attention to the crowd. I'm paying attention to the emotion, or lack thereof, from Cronos Diamante. He's been exactly the opposite of this in the past few months during his stay here in Legacy. Landon Savage: We’re seeing more of the old Cronos right now – the side that is cold, calculating and methodical to the degree that you prayed you weren't on the receiving end. Mark Perletta: I hope Diego knows the mistake he made in waking up this side of Cronos. Cronos Diamante: The fact remains, however… I've had you beat twice in the ring now, Diego. Once in my own realm of "fair" fighting, and once in the fighting indicative of the No Limits Division that you claim you "made." So Diego… come on out here because I'm not leaving this ring until you do. The fans, as well as Cronos, wait silently and watch the entrance stage for any signs of Cardenas. Mark Perletta: I’m not too sure if Diego de Cardenas is coming out… I know he’s here tonight for his match with Ray Willmott. Alan Ducard: It very well might be that Diego does not want to be distracted this evening before his tournament match. Landon Savage: Match or no match, I don’t think Diego’s going to be backing down from Cronos… and here we go. Santana’s “Oye Como Va” begins playing over the speakers and both red and green spotlights shine down from above, circling the crowd, stirring things up. The crowd is getting excited for the encounter about to go down, and they react accordingly. Not long into the song, Diego de Cardenas walks out onto the stage to an ovation of booing. He’s got his ring attire on and his signature poncho covering his chest and a microphone in hand. As he steps to the top of the entrance stage, he is joined by Hector Rodriguez, who has a huge grin on his face. Diego, however, yawns, then lifts the microphone to speak. Diego de Cardenas – Before you start thinking that you just won some kind of moral victory by having me come out here, I didn’t walk through that curtain because you asked me to. I walked through that curtain because unlike you, I’ve got a big important match tonight, and the things you’ve been saying… the things you’re probably going to be saying… they’re putting me to sleep, homes. Diego fakes another yawn and Hector’s grin gets even bigger. Diego de Cardenas – The reason I’m out here right now is to ask you to just stop, to run along. You don’t want to waste any time, right? Well it’s too late for that. You want our little feud to come to an end? Then end it by giving up, because it’s plain to see, Birdie Boy, that the rivalry we’ve got… it’s like the rivalry between a hammer and a nail… Every time we meet inside that ring, I’ve pounded you into the mat, and that… is a fact. Now it’s your time to deal with it and move along. The first ounce of emotion is finally shown by Cronos Diamante with a feigned chuckle which is then quickly replaced with his original stone cold, no expression entrance "emotions." Cronos Diamante: I'm amazed you can think of analogies like hammer and nail with that limited amount of brain wave activity up there in your mind, Diego. No matter how misguided and misplaced it is. I really am impressed. Cronos pauses as a portion of the crowd laughs. Cronos Diamante: But the time for your "intelligent" banter is at an end. I believe it's time you own up to the fact you couldn't win a match one on one with anybody in this federation if it meant you couldn't cheat or have interference. And perhaps we should test that theory. Diego rolls his eyes. Diego de Cardenas – It’s amazing, with all your talk of “intelligence” and making fun of me because I don’t talk like you do… you’re the one who is missing a big fact in all this. I’m in line for a shot at the World Title. I am one of six people who is respected enough to be placed in a spot to get a shot… and you’re not! You think I am going to take a step back and beat you for a third time just because you aren’t satisfied with how I beat you? Forget you and your little theories, I got bigger things going on right now. A voice joins the discussion, initially over the P.A. system. Voice: I might have something to say about all this. As Smith Cartwright steps through the curtain, both Diego and Hector turn around to spot the front office member coming through curtain. Walking off to the side, Smith Cartwright distances himself a bit from the two roster members standing atop the ramp. Smith Cartwright: Before this gets out of hand, I thought I’d come out here and tell all three of you what’s going to happen and what’s not going to happen. The excitement continues to buzz throughout the crowd, but they quiet down a bit to make sure they hear what’s being said. Smith Cartwright: First of all, Cronos. I’ve had to tell other people this before, so don’t feel like you’re being singled out, but since this isn’t a championship situation, I can’t guarantee you another rematch with Diego, so if he wants to refuse to get into the ring with you, I can’t do anything about it. Diego smirks, but Smith Cartwright continues. Smith Cartwright: However, we can give you the opportunity to get some revenge against Hector Rodriguez for his involvement in your match at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS. Reaching out his hand, Hector asks Diego for the microphone, and after quickly receiving it, Hector interjects. Hector Rodriguez: What I did was perfectly within the rules for a No Limits match! Smith Cartwright: I completely agree, and that’s why you’re not being punished. You’re actually getting your first big opportunity here in LEGACY. At SuperCard STRIFE 27, Hector Rodriguez, you will be getting into the ring with Cronos Diamante in a No Limits style match, the winner will move on to the next pay per view with a shot at the No Limits Championship against whomever is the champion at that time! The crowd breaks its silence and they let out an excited burst of cheers and clapping. A bit of a smirk slowly forms on Cronos’ face as has been given a chance at some redemption. Hector looks like he’s up for the challenge, pounding his chest with one of his fists while staring towards the ring looking right at Cronos, who obviously doesn’t look the slightest bit intimidated as he stoically remains the same he has the entire time he’s been out there. Backstage
The camera cuts to the back where we all see Mike Dexter walking with a duffel bag over his shoulder, presumably filled to the zipper with gear he just had on for his match against Eli Storm. Walking with a confident demeanor, his head sort of poked in the air giving an air of entitlement, Dex nonchalantly ignores various LEGACY personnel on the way to his destination. He twirls the strap to his key-chain around his fingers while adjusting the strap over his shoulder. Suddenly, however, a familiar face passes him by in the hallway; wearing jean shorts and a black t-shirt with a lone bright florescent pink “X” on the center of it. Holding the Tao of Valor Championship proudly over his shoulder, X-Calibur nods to Mike Dexter in acknowledgment. X-Calibur: Well if it isn’t LEGACY’s newest blue chipper. X motions towards the bag on Dex’s shoulder. X-Calibur: You leaving already? Dexter, after a short debate in his mind, decides to stop respectively. He adjusts the bag again, and moves his head in an awkward fashion displaying some degree of uncertainty. The Dexecutioner: I have to get out of here. I wasn't all that impressed with myself out there. I'm going to get a decent cool-down in somewhere around here. Besides, other than you (Looks around.) I don't really see anyone else caring. I'll be back next week though. It's just been a busy time for me, with what happened in Las Vegas and all. It's a tougher world when you're suspended from wrestling. He pauses while he eyes X, raising a brow. The Dexecutioner: I didn't think pink was your color. X smiles. X-Calibur: Neither did I. Fortunately, my image consultant is a genius. Laughing a bit from the half-joking response, X adjusts the title on his shoulder before continuing. X-Calibur: It’s only a tougher world when you’re suspended if you make it a tougher world. Believe me, if anyone knows a thing or two about suspensions... *points to self*... you’re lookin’ at ‘im. X pauses a second and looks at the bag again. X-Calibur: ‘Sides, you just got here, Dex. Can’t expect the whole locker room to give a shit about you when probably three quarters of it have no idea who you are. If you got the patience and fortitude though, people will give a shit, and they’ll give a shit in a fuckin’ hurry. Dexter agrees, shaking his head impressed. The Dexecutioner: Oh I've got it. I just didn't like myself in there today, I've got to scratch this rust off so I can get back to my old self again. When I get there, I'm sure more of the roster will give a shit about me.. Even if they don't like me. He shrugs. The Dexecutioner: I'm like you though X, like me or not... I'll get mine. How was it that you used to say it? X scratches his head. X-Calibur: Uh, prepare to be... DEX-TERMINATED? X stops for a second, as Dex looks at him with a face full of incredulity. X-Calibur: No, that’s not the one... how about, something, something, something, then, “...bitch”? Before Dex can say anything to that, X puts his hands up. X-Calibur: No, my bad, man. I think I got it this time... one way... or another? Dex nods, laughing. The Dexecutioner: Exactly. Mike adjusts his bag again and nods at X. The Dexecutioner: I have to hit the road, man. Dexter starts walking again, and turns around, walking backward. The Dexecutioner: By the way, X? He eyes the Tao of Valor championship. The Dexecutioner: Gold IS your color. X nods, smirking. X-Calibur: Damn right it is. X starts to walk away, but then decides to turn around again real quick. X-Calibur: Hey, something to think about... maybe next week you should start sticking around for these shows, eh? This ain’t Vegas, and this ain’t the south. You want to be somebody here, you’re gonna need to show that YOU give a shit. You dig? X shrugs. X-Calibur: ‘Till next time, Dex.. Dex nods and then flashes a peace sign and as he starts heading away from X-Calibur towards the end of the hall. X meanwhile starts heading towards the other direction, where the camera catches the back of his new t-shirt. It reads: “LEGENDARY PAIN”, only the word PAIN is crossed out and the word “PINK” is written with a spray painted design. Mirage vs Allen Franks
Mark Perletta: Our third match of the night sees a young technical wrestler taking on a wily, unconventional veteran. Landon Savage: This is a tough match for Allen Franks, not only facing a competitor who has the experience and accomplishments that Mirage brings to the table, but also because of the mindset of the former World champion. Alan Ducard: Undoubtedly. Mirage lost in his match at the pay per view, he had a tough time beating Crazy Boy prior to that on STRIFE 24, and he almost lost to Moreno at CALL TO ARMS. When some people go on a streak like that, they get desperate for a win. Mirage just seemed focused and angry. Mark Perletta: Regardless of what he has done in his past few matches, Mirage is still Mirage and he’s still a former World champion, so you have to respect what he can do inside the ring. Alan Ducard: I believe Allen Franks had a great deal of respect for Mirage when the opening bell rang, but he didn’t walk into the ring assuming he was going to lose this match. Mark Perletta: And it showed, especially early on in the match, as Franks pulled out some great moves and counters. Landon Savage: Clearly not the smartest guy on the roster, I knew Allen wasn’t going to just lay down, because that would make too much sense. Alan Ducard: Except that even if he were to lose, by trying to give everything possible in this match, Allen Franks can show people what he is capable of doing as well as learning from how a veteran like Mirage responds to the moves he tries. Mark Perletta: You can only get better by stepping up against competition better than you, and in this match Franks did just that, trying his best to pick up a victory. Landon Savage: Stranger things have happened; let’s get down to the footage to find out who won. Start : Footage from the Match Mark Perletta: Nice dropkick to the knee there by Allen Franks to put Mirage on the mat. Alan Ducard: That lad got good elevation, and I believe Mirage was expecting the kick to go higher, but Franks stalled and hit it on the way down! As Allen tries to lifts Mirage up off the mat, he’s hit with a forearm to the gut. Mirage gets up to his feet and rocks Franks backwards with three successive right hands, then takes a step back and hits a stiff kick to the gut which doubles Allen over. Hooking Allen’s head in under his arm, Mirage hoists Franks up off the mat, holding him up in the air in a vertical suplex, pausing at the top before dropping STRAIGHT DOWN, driving Allen’s head onto the mat with a brainbuster. Getting up onto his knees, Mirage puts one hand down onto Allen’s chest, going for the pinfall. One… Two… NO! Allen Franks shoulders out! Mark Perletta: I don’t think he was going to win the match right there, but Mirage could’ve put a bit more effort into that pinfall attempt. Alan Ducard: He could have hooked a leg or something. Grabbing Franks by the wrist, Mirage hoists his opponent up off the mat and lazily sends him across the ring with an irish whip. Coming off the ropes with a ton of momentum, Franks leaps off the mat and connects on the jaw of Mirage with the flying spinning back heel kick. Both men struggle to be the first to get to their feet, arriving at a vertical base at roughly the same time. Ducking his head under Mirage’s arm and hooking him around the waist, Allen Franks takes his opponent up and over with a Northern Lights suplex, bridging up onto his toes into a pinfall attempt. One… Two… No! Mark Perletta: Near fall there by Allen Franks… Landon Savage: Only because he surprised Mirage with the attempt. It wasn’t a legit two count. Had he known it was coming, he would’ve kicked out after one! Getting up off the mat, it’s obvious to see that Allen Franks is energized by the momentum he’s gaining, and he doesn’t want to let up. Stepping in behind Mirage as he works his way up off the mat, Allen Franks grabs his opponent around the waist from behind and lifts him up onto his shoulder momentarily and then drops him back down onto his feet with an atomic drop. Instead of letting him go, Franks lifts Mirage back up onto his shoulder a second time, then jumps up off the mat and falls backwards, putting Mirage on the mat with a back drop suplex that causes cheers to ring out from the fans. Alan Ducard: A nice combination of moves there by young Franks, and he’s not going for the surprise pinfall attempt now. Mark Perletta: Allen gets out onto the apron, it looks like he’s going to try something off the top rope… Landon Savage: This is either going to work in Allen’s favor, or it’s going to end up being a rookie mistake for not keeping on the attack… Just as Mirage turns around to look for his opponent, Allen Franks reaches the top rope and leaps off, going for a missile dropkick. At the last second Mirage dodges out of the way and Allen lands awkwardly down onto the mat. Landon Savage: ROOKIE MISTAKE it is!! Alan Ducard: Either that or Mirage was lucky to step out of the way. Shaking the last of the cobwebs loose, Mirage measures up his opponent, and as Allen starts to work his way up off the mat up to his knees, Mirage runs in and sends a kick upwards into Franks’ jaw, flipping him over onto his back, mouth slightly open, eyes shut. Landon Savage: And THAT is IT! Allen Franks is OUT! Mark Perletta: That boot to the jaw that basically acts like an uppercut looks to have knocked Allen Franks out cold, but instead of covering him, Mirage has other plans for this opponent. Lifting Franks up off the mat, Mirage sets Allen up into a standing headscissors, hooking his arms together around Allen’s abdomen. Mirage lifts his opponent straight up into position to hit a piledriver, then lets go with one of his arms only to switch it around into a cradling position, and all in one fluid motion Mirage jumps and drives Allen’s head down into the mat. Repositioning himself, Mirage grabs Franks’ leg and hooks it violently, going for the pinfall. One. Two. Three. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner by pinfall… Marcus… Mirage! Mark Perletta: Mirage picks up the win, and it was basically elementary from the time he kicked Allen Franks in the jaw. Allan Ducard: I couldn't agree more. He could very well have won the match without using that cradle piledriver. Landon Savage: Let's not kid ourselves, this match was over before it started. Take this as a lesson... don’t ever bet against Mirage. And for all of Mirage's detractors? He didn't have to use any "foul play" to win this one. Mark Perletta: Going into this match I don't think many people were willing to place money on Allen Franks to win this match, but he did a lot better than most people probably thought he'd do, very similarly to how the canuckin' Cowboys have been exceeding everyone's expectations in the tag team division. Old Friends
The camera opens up backstage, where Cade Sydal leans against a wall, with a bottle of Mountain Dew in hand. Dan Stein quickly approaches him from down the hall as Cade takes a swig from the bottle. Dan Stein: Hey, you got a minute? Cade Sydal: Sure, I guess. What’s up? Dan Stein looks at Cade for a moment. Cade Sydal: Are you gonna say somethin’? Dan Stein: Just…kinda surprised to see you here, ya know? Cade Sydal: Frankly, I’m kinda surprised not to have my mask on. I’ve grown fond of it. Dan Stein: I just…why? Cade Sydal: Why what? Dan Stein: Why the mask, bro? Cade takes a deep breath and exhales with a heavy sigh. Cade Sydal: I didn’t wanna make it on my name. I didn’t wanna get a push because of my name. I wanted to get it because of who I am. Does that make sense? Dan Stein: I…guess. As Stein and Cade continued talking with one another, the camera moved slightly to the left, catching a glimpse of someone out of focus in the distance, walking towards them. It doesn’t take long for the individual walking to come into focus, and the crowd watching on the giant LEGACY Vision screen pop hard. X-Calibur: Cade. We... should talk. Dan Stein, who was already in the midst of a conversation with Cade, looks at X-Calibur and then back at Cade. Feeling the Tao of Valor Champion’s presence behind him, Stein looks back one more time and chortles. X, wearing his Tao of Valor Championship proudly across his shoulder, grins back at him. Dan Stein: Heh. Grab a number, okay? Raising his eyebrows, X holds up his hands in a faux apologetic manner. X-Calibur: Danny boy, sorry, didn’t see you there. Carry on, man. Looking slightly annoyed over the “Danny Boy” comment, Dan’s eyes narrow and he turns back to face Cade Sydal. As he does this, X reaches beside Dan and pretends to grab a ticket from one of those red ticket machines you see in supermarket Delis. He holds the “ticket” close to his chest and whistles about, taking three steps or so back. Dan Stein: I get that. About wanting to make it on your talent and not your name and all, but…you coulda told me. X looks down at an imaginary watch on his wrist, and sighs loudly. Stein’s ears perk, but he refuses to turn around. X-Calibur: Listen, if we could speed this up a little, that would be awesome. Last I checked, STRIFE only had 2 hours to work with. Finally giving in to the sarcastic demeanor of X, Stein turns around. Dan Stein: I don’t know what your problem is, but I think it’d best you fucking leave. X-Calibur: The fuck you say to me, son? Dan Stein: I think you heard me, d- The crowd GASPS without warning when Dan Stein is forcefully thrust back a few feet from a LOUD, slapping shove. X-Calibur: You forget who the FUCK you’re speaking to? I ain’t no lame ass student of yours and this ain’t no fuckin’ classroom. Stein IMMEDIATELY shoves back, showing no signs of intimidation by
the Tao of Valor Champion. The title slips off of X’s shoulders,
but X catches the Dan Stein: You think you’re better than The Lights, asshole? X-Calibur: There’s no “think” about it, and if you don’t get the fuck outta my way in about two fucking seconds... fuck lights, you’ll be seein’ stars motherfucker. Dan shrugs, and shoves X for the second time. Dan Stein: You’re a lot of talk. Why don’t you put those words into action, Mister Hall of Fame guy? For the first time since X and Stein came into contact, Cade speaks up. Cade Sydal: Whoa. Fellas. Dudes. Calm your shit down. This isn’t prom and I’m not some broad. Both Stein and X ignore Cade for the moment and look each other dead in the eyes. X-Calibur: My business is not with you, Stein. But, since your bitch ass obviously wants to get up in my grill and act like you can hang with a guy of my fuckin’ ability... X sets the Tao of Valor title down on a table with a coffee pot on it to the right of them. X-Calibur: ...then I guess my business with Cade is gonna have to wait. Going nose to nose with Dan Stein, X grins. Almost evilly. After a few moments of outright intensity, X shoves Stein even harder this time, sending him much further than the last shove. Cade actually backs out of the way this time and strafes to the side of both competitors. Dan Stein: Hang? Be careful, X. That title you’re wearing... it could easily come back around my waist. Without warning, Stein delivers an eye watering SLAP right to the face of the Tao of Valor Champion. Cade Sydal: Wow. Cade looks at X, who is wiping his cherry colored cheek with his right hand. Laughing out loud for a moment, X sighs, shrugs his shoulders, and then cracks his neck. Cade Sydal: X, dude... I- Before Cade can even finish his sentence, X CHARGES at Stein like a linebacker, actually lifting him up into the air. Turning in mid-air, X brings Stein down across the table to their right, breaking it clean in half. Styrofoam cups and the coffee pot go flying as X rains some stiff punches down on Dan Stein. From the bottom position, Stein fights back with some stiff shots of his own. Before either man can do any further damage, Cade and a SLEW of LEGACY staffers come running and literally pull X off of Stein. In a deafening scream filled with rage, X tries to fight Cade and the staff members off. X-Calibur: IT’S ON, MOTHERFUCKER!!!!! IT’S ON!!!!!! As X is pulled away from Dan Stein and the remnants of the table, Stein gets up and charges at X. Nailing a few punches in himself while X’s arms are being held back by staff members, Cade roughly waist locks Stein and pulls him away from the Tao of Valor Champion as best as possible. More staff members come running and get in between Stein and X-Calibur. Ringside
The lights throughout the arena dim down and "Points of Authority" by Linkin Park begins to play. Red Lights then slowly light up the arena, followed by Green, and Blue. When the singing begins Stephen Rawlings appears at the top of the ramp, looking very unclean: his hair disheveled, a beard growing, and wearing the same clothes he was seen wearing at "Destined For Greatness", minus his "Good Enough Isn't: Perfect is!" Tshirt which is replaced with an old Stephen Rawlings "Mr. Future Champ" Tshirt, that looks pretty dirty. He slowly makes his way down the ring, in a noncaring fashion for the first time in his career. He climbs into the ring and grabs the ring from the ring announcer. He takes a minute and listens to the cheers. Stephen Rawlings: Thanks for that response, but really... there’s no need to keep cheering me. The crowd cheers louder, and Stephen sighs, beginning to pace in the ring. Stephen Rawlings: Seriously. I'm not just saying that to be humble... You need to stop cheering me. What have I done in the last 2 months that would warrant you wanting to cheer for me? The fans quiet down to hear what Rawlings has to say. Stephen Rawlings: Here I've been for years preaching that you need to be perfect to win and here I am.... TWICE messing up, and being far from perfect. I’ve been making rookie mistakes, horrible, horrid decisions... THINKING I was above god... Thinking I could wrestle twice in one night for the World Title... He looks seriously disappointed in himself. Stephen Rawlings: Then... Stooping to Loco's level and hitting him with a chair a couple weeks ago during our pay per view match... Taking me so far off my game it caused me to be distracted... CAUSED me to let the title slip away. He pauses for a moment and reflects. Stephen Rawlings: I remember the moment I realized it. My back was on the mat and Loco was on top of me going for the pin... It was in that moment that I knew it was over. I saw the image of a belt falling into darkness... Hearing the maniacal laughing of a demon as the belt fell into his arms. Feeling the heat of fire as the belt burned the skin of it's catcher. And I made a desicion... He bites his bottom lip for a brief moment, not close to tears, but clearly frustrated. Stephen Rawlings: The match was over. My hunt for the title was over. I could have tried harder to shoulder out of the pin, but I made a decision. If I was going to lose… if I was going beat myself... I might as well actually beat myself... So I let myself be pinned. Mark Perletta: LET himself be pinned? I like Stephen Rawlings, but when he got hit with the LOCapitator… he got knocked out cold. Landon Savage: This guy’s dillusional. Alan Ducard: It almost looks like he believes what he’s saying. Stephen Rawlings: The longest three seconds of my life, as the ref counted... 1... 2... 3... as the crowd booed…. The response they were giving… I knew it was for Loco, but deep down I couldn't help but think maybe... just maybe, it was for me. He shakes his head. Stephen Rawlings: I let the fans down, I became my own hypocrite. And so for a moment I was happy thinking I was getting what I deserved. Thinking my fans were for once, as disappointed in me as I was in me... And that... That was my biggest mistake. How could I do that? His frustration is obvious. Stephen Rawlings: How could I let myself get so low? How could I let myself be anything LESS than perfect. From the moment this company was bought, my ONLY mission was to win that title. And then I get it... And I am careless with it... He looks physically ill. Stephen Rawlings: It makes me wanna puke to see what I have become. That makes me think… maybe those visions I saw when Loco was pinning me weren't of the future, but of that past... That I was the evil demon holding the burning the title. That I was the one who was corrupted by the belt. He stops for a moment and takes a breath. Stephen Rawlings: And maybe I thought that by letting Loco beat me... That I could wipe the slate clean... Start over... I don’t know what I was thinking, but now that is exactly what I am going to have to do. Now I have to do it the hard way. The front office thinks it would be a brilliant idea to not include me in the tournament for the number one contendership... Rawlings rolls his eyes. Stephen Rawlings: Obviously this is a stupid stupid stupid thing to do. Do they want that douche bag to continue holding the belt? Do they LIKE the company being represented by such a disrespectful human being? Sooner or later the front office will realize that all of the men they chose for the tournament are duds... That they need a real wrestler to end Loco's reign. Then they will come back to me.... Because what it will take to beat Loco is true unadulterated abilty, a true hard fought TECHNICAL battle... And therefore... All my of my nickanmes... ALL of the silly names I've used throughout time.. Stephen "Mr. Future Champion" Rawlings; or Stephen "World Champion" Rawlings. They are wiped clean.. GONE... Now I am simply... Stephen K. Rawlings, and I am the best technical wrestler in the world and I am going teach him and everyone in the back what it is like to be "technically perfect!" The lights in the arena cut abruptly to black at that point and for a brief moment there is relative silence in the arena as the crowd and Stephen Rawlings wonder just what is about to happen. Then a familiar guitar riff sounds throughout the arena and the crowd explodes as the come to their collective feet. A spotlight comes down over the entrance to the arena as “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath begins to play throughout the arena. Mark Perletta: That entrance music is unmistakable to fans here! It looks like Devastation is about to make an appearance! Devastation does indeed step through the curtains and the crowd erupts upon seeing the first world champion in LEGACY history. He looks much the opposite of Stephen Rawlings, wearing a red long sleeved button down shirt, a pair of dark loose fitting blue jeans, and some brown Doc Marten boots. He is clean-shaven with his hair cut to stubble and wears a gold watch around his left wrist. In that hand, he holds a microphone as well. He stops at the top of the entrance ramp as his music cuts out and the crowd buzzes wondering just what the former world champion has to say. Devastation: You know, when I came back here I was supposed to step into the ring with John Thomas but that didn’t happen. One of the big reasons I came back to LEGACY was to get a piece of Marcus Marion, and now it doesn’t look like that will happen any time soon. The crowd is still a buzz wondering what Devastation has to say here tonight. Stephen Rawlings, meanwhile, looks very impatient inside of the ring as Devastation continues. Devastation: So right now I’m in a position where I’m looking for my first opponent. I’m looking for that first test since I came back to LEGACY. Now, Stephen, I hear you out here whining and complaining and you’re making all sorts of excuses for yourself but you said something that really got my attention. The crowd picks up a little bit anticipating where Devastation is going with this. Devastation: You come out here and you claim that you’re the best technical wrestler in the world. Well in case you’ve forgot… that’s something that I know a little bit about. And for you to come out here and spew this crap about being the greatest technical wrestler with the most dominant technician in TTW history backstage doesn’t sit very well with me. Rawlings looks very upset at this point and is pacing the ring a little bit. The crowd seems to be almost entirely behind Devastation at this point as he continues. Devastation: You want to get back to that world title and there is no doubt that I want back that gold that in my eyes I never lost. So the way I see it you’ve got to go through me Stephen. You want to show that you’re the best? You want to be technically perfect? Well if you’ve got any guts at all you’ll put you’re money where you’re mouth is and step into the ring with the greatest technical wrestler of all time. Devastation turns and walks out of the arena at that point while our cameras focus in on Stephen Rawlings inside the ring. Mark Perletta: The challenge has been laid down! Devastation challenging Stephen Rawlings here tonight, taking exception to him calling himself the best technical wrestler in the world. Alan Ducard: We’ll have to see whether or not Rawlings will accept, but it appears Devastation is going to give Stephen some time to think about it. Landon Savage: Stephen Rawlings came out here and started talking about wanting a challenge, wanting to prove he’s a great technical wrestler… and I’m not sure if he was expecting all of this. Katsuro Yoshida vs
Crash
Mark Perletta: Our fourth match of the night was an interesting one, pitting two veterans of our sport against one another for the first time as Crash, a member of the Diabolik, stepped into the ring against Katsuro Yoshida, a member of the Bushido Buntai. Landon Savage: Coming into this match, you knew that Crash was going to be motivated by his loss to Jake Dominion at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS in that cage match. Alan Ducard: To my knowledge there’s no reason for why Crash would otherwise be hostile towards Katsuro Yoshida, but in the opening minutes of this match, you could see the frustrations boiling over as Crash was just vicious with Katsuro, ignoring the referee and nearly getting himself disqualified. Mark Perletta: As a former No Limits Champion, Katsuro Yoshida could fend for himself, and when Katsuro started disregarding the rules as he fought back, the referee basically stepped back and let the match go on as if it were being contested under No Limits rules. Alan Ducard: Sometimes that’s the proper way to do things. I don’t think it would have been right to allow pinfalls outside the ring or for weapons to come into play, but sometimes leniency is necessary. Landon Savage: I would’ve been happy to see the entire thing fought under No Limits rules, but that’s just me… and a few thousand fans in a sold out arena. Alan Ducard: Were a rematch to be signed between these two, I believe the front office would highly consider configuring it that way. Mark Perletta: Things did come to order, though, as frustrations eased and tensions lessened, and we got a great match from it. Let’s take a look at the last half. Start : Footage from the Match Yoshida ducks a clothesline attempt from Crash after coming off the ropes. He hits the ropes on the other side and comes off. Crash attempts to take him down with a back elbow, except Katsuro cartwheels out of the way. Crash turns to see if Yoshida has hit the ropes again, except he's hit square in the jaw with a roundhouse kick. Mark Perletta: Look at Yoshida's agility! He hits a picture perfect cartwheel and then a roundhouse kick that connects square on the jaw. That's agility. Yoshida moves in quickly and covers Crash. One… Crash kicks out and in the process pushes Yoshida up into the air and onto the referee. Landon Savage: An incredible showing of strength there. Alan Ducard: This bloke has bad intentions though. He knows the ref is out cold now. Crash rises to his feet and immediately ducks a flying forearm smash from Katsuro Yoshida. He grabs Yoshida by the back of his neck and pants and throws him shoulderfirst into the corner, Katsuro connecting hard with the corner ringpost. Taking him by the back of his waistband, Crash pulls the Bushido Buntai member from the corner, locks his arms around Katsuro’s neck and executes a cobra clutch suplex, dropping Katsuro on his shoulder and neck. Casually flipping over, Crash makes the pinfall attempt. One... Alan Ducard: Crash isn’t going for the pinfall… Two... Landon Savage: No he’s not! Three... Mark Perletta: Crash slamming Katsuro’s head against the mat repeatedly, and he’s not looking to end this just yet. Landon Savage: He’s still mad about the kick to the jaw, and this is payback. Alan Ducard: Certainly an aggressive one, isn’t he? Crash realizes he’s still got some time before the ref wakes up after having a wrestler tossed onto him and the Diabolik member slides out of the ring. He shoves the time keeper off his chair, then rips the hammer he uses to ring the bell out of his hands. Trembling in fear, the time keeper just backs away. Mark Perletta: Nothing good can come of this… Crash slides back into the ring now with his new weapon of choice. He waits as Katsuro slowly gets to his feet, holding his head, half dazed. Standing and ready to strike, Crash is holding out for the opportune time to strike, apparently wanting Yoshida to turn around, trying to time his attack perfectly. Mark Perletta: He's gonna clean Katsuro's clock with that hammer! Alan Ducard: No kidding mate, ol' Katz is gonna crumble like a pile of bricks. Yoshida turns around quickly and nails Crash steps in with a quick thrusting motion to the throat but Katsuro sidesteps, barely avoiding the attempt. Spinning around like a windmill, Katsuro drills his opponent in the back of the head with a forearm smash that causes Crash to drop the hammer, which falls out of the ring. Alan Ducard: Extremely good fortune for Yoshida, because that might’ve crushed his windpipe! He just avoided not only a loss, but a potential hospital stay! As the referee slowly returns to his feet, Katsuro Yoshida pulls Crash up off his knees to his feet and irish whips him into the corner, then takes a few steps away and backs up into the opposite corner. Mark Perletta: Katsuro with an opportunity... Yoshida explodes out of the corner and nails a handspring elbow into the chest of Crash. Crash staggers to the center. Yoshida comes running off the ropes and attempts a spinning head-scissors / tilt-a-whirl type move. He somehow lands on his feet, not completing his move. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Crash jabs Yoshida in the throat, doubling him over in pain and then scoops him up onto his shoulder Landon Savage: Could this be the Aero Zeppelin Driver now? Alan Ducard: It's a safe wager, mate. Crash takes a step back and nails a running powerslam! The excitement that was brewing in the crowd was quickly turned to disgust. Crash gets up and smiles at his handy work, taunting the crowd for a moment. Only a moment though as Crash quickly grapevines the leg of Yoshida and rolls him over onto his back. The facelock is applied in now. Alan Ducard: What a wanker! He fakes everyone with his one finisher and than locks in the other one. Mark Perletta: And he's just rolled over on his back. The reverse STF is in! The former No Limits champion begins flinging his arms around, trying to fight for his life. Like a python, trapping his prey though, there is no hope for Yoshida now. He tries to fight, but realizing he won’t be getting out of this one, Katsuro has no alternative and taps. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner by submission… Crrrrash!! Mark Perletta: Well I will say this for Crash, that was actually an impressive win right there, no matter how much he pissed these fans off, faking one finisher just to use the other. Landon Savage: Actually Perletta, Crash has always used the running powerslam a bit. Alan Ducard: I don’t see any reason to even begin to defend the antics of Crash or any of those other thugs he runs with, especially after trying to use that hammer like that! Mark Perletta: The time keeper finally getting that hammer back, and we now hear the bell. Landon Savage: Like him or not, Crash just scored a victory over the former No Limits Champion, and I’m sure that the Diabolik have a plan to get Crash right back into World Title Contention, despite the fact that they aren’t going to be able to work anything out for our next pay per view. Backstage
The camera cuts to the parking lot area where we see Matt Towers stepping out of a white stretch limo. He walks right past the camera, not looking at it, and shoves the steel door to the arena open. The cameraman unable to catch up, we switch over to a different cameraman who has been sent as “backup”, and by the time he gets there Matt Towers is walking down the halls. Avery George, LEGACY intern, runs up to him and tries to get in a word or two. Avery George: Mr. Towers, I thought maybe I could get a few words with you, kinda let people know your current state of mind. Towers keeps walking, and Avery has to hustle to keep up, since his stride isn’t nearly as big as Towers’. Avery George: I think people would like to hear what LEGACY’s giant has to say about competing against Isaac Entragian back at Destined for Greatness for the No Limits… Towers stops and Avery nearly runs into him. Obviously aggravated, Towers grinds his teeth, looking straight down, dwarfing the intern. Avery takes a step back. Avery George: I didn’t mean any offense, Mr. Towers. Yeah, you lost the match, but you did a darn good job of ALMOST winning the belt. Suddenly Towers reaches out and grabs Avery by the throat and lifts him up off his feet, holding him up with only one arm. There’s a commotion as nearby road agents see what’s going on and they run in to try to convince Towers to let Avery down, but to no avail. It’s almost a surreal scene as this absolute GIANT holds the diminutive Avery high above the ground and against the wall. As Towers continues to grit his teeth, holding Avery a few feet off the ground, and slams him against the wall once to re-establish his grip and to put some more fear into those standing and watching the scene. The agents continue to plead with Towers, but the time for pleading is over as The Outlaw himself pushes through the mass and pushes Towers backwards rips Avery out of Towers’ grasp, sending the giant backwards a just a couple steps. Towers looks even more enraged than he previously was, but the road agents step in front of him to keep him away from The Outlaw and The Intern. Carter Franklin: Back up! If you ever want to get a World Title shot around here, you’ll back up RIGHT. NOW. Towers realizes that it’s not worth it, so he backs up a few steps, and Greyson Blade stands there, glaring into the giant’s eyes, the same glare coming right back at him. The Outlaw is an imposing figure standing about 6’5 and now about 285-290 pounds, but Towers stands tall over him glaring down at The Outlaw. Blade looks Matt right in the eye and speaks. The Outlaw: Towers, how about fighting someone who can fight back? If you wanted a fight, you could have just challenged me, big man. I laid it out right there earlier tonight that I’m looking for a fight. Towers snarls for a moment and then slowly backs off down the hall. Elsewhere Backstage
The camera switches backstage where Smith Cartwright is sitting at his desk, reading a piece of paper. Smith Cartwright: So... You lied to everyone.... You
pretended to be this guy... "Gigantus Awesomo"... This masked
Circus freak. I must admit... You kinda had everyone fooled. Can you
please explain to me why you did it? Smith Cartwright: Right... Chris Turner: Hey listen... It's not like I tricked anyone into putting me in the ring... I wasn;t suspended or fired or dead, but when I wanted to get back in the ring. I went to Rob and told him I wanted to wrestle with a mask for while! Ask him! Smith Cartwright: I know... Rob told me. But he also told me that in the arrangement you two made, you weren't supposed to hurt anyone outside the wrestling ring, and leading up to Destined for Greatness that's exactly what you did, attacking Ezekiel Caine. And that's why I called for this meeting. The front office has decided to keep you and Damien Black apart for a little bit, letting things cool down between the two of you because what happened in your match at the pay per view… that's not what LEGACY is all about. Smith stammers a bit, thinking back on the match, remembering just how violent it got. Smith Cartwright: It went over the line. It wasn't just a hardcore match, it was two men acting psychotic towards one another and it's not the kind of product LEGACY wants to offer. Shoving thumbtacks down throats? Throwing people through car windows? And some of the weapons you both had in your locker rooms backstage which you weren't allowed to bring to the ring… Turner, who had been fuming up until this point, snaps and starts yelling. Chris Turner: F*CKING SH*T ASS F*CK BITCH!!!!!! F*CK YOU SMITH! EVERYTHING WAS GREAT UNTIL YOU ASSHOLES HIRED THAT BASTARD BLACK! Smith stares at Turner who is now standing up, leaning down at Smith. Chris Turner: UNTIL YOU hired him! YOU! I hate that man! You know I do... He doesn't deserve to live. I want him dead. And I would take the electric chair to do it! So please... Don't lecture me about breaking the rules. I didn't kill anyone did I? No... And who did I hurt? That f*ckin reverend and his b*tch ass client. Black is the only one I want to hurt so don't f*ckin worry! Smith Cartwright: We understand that you don't "want" to hurt "other people", which is why you and Damien Black are being kept apart, allowing you to cool down, making you less likely to lose control inside that ring. The front office has also decided that if you attack Damien Black backstage, you will be suspended indefinitely. Chris Turner: Suspended?! BULLSH*T! How can you expect me not to attack that guy the next time I see him?! You expect me to see him walking down the hall and tip my hat to him and say "G'idday sir!" F*ck you! Your insane if you think for a god damn minute I'm going to do something like that! Smith Cartwright: The way you're talking to me right now, I could say the same about you! Turner is absolutely fuming. Smith Cartwright: Oh... and Your manager? Orlando? You need to tell him that we need to talk with him. Some of the things he does… let's just say that the things we've heard about him doing in his spare time… it's not the type of image we want in our company. Chris Turner: Why, because he's black?! Smith Cartwright: No... Because he's a pimp. It's obvious Turner is still fuming over being told he's not going to be able to be physically involved with Damien Black without getting suspended. Smith Cartwright: Also to keep in mind, we want you to continue to not have contact with your cousin. Stephen Rawlings has been one of our breadwinners since you left, and we can't have him getting distracted. Turner looks like he could care less about Rawlings right now. His eyes flinch and he clinches his fist.... Trying to hide his anger. Chris Turner: Fine... fine… whatever... I don’t care... I just wanna know when I can beta the shit out of Black again? The next pay per view? Smith Cartwright: No... We're going to give you two more room than that. It'll probably be sometime in mid 2008. Chris Turner: 2008!?!? NO F*CKING WAY!!!!! He spits down onto Smith's desk and begins to walk out of the office. Chris Turner: Good luck protecting your new investment now you son of a bitch. He walks out of the office and slams the door behind him. He then sees the camera and walks over to it. Chris Turner: Damien... Don't worry... I'll find you... And we can finish this! He storms down the hall as the camera cuts back to the recap area. Semi-Final Match
Ray Willmott vs Diego de Cardenas Alan Ducard: Four matches down, three matches to go, and the ones we have left are the ones people have been waiting for all evening long. Mark Perletta: Our fifth match of the night is the first of two matches to help determine who will have the World Title shot at the next pay per view. Landon Savage: More importantly, this is the first opportunity for Diego de Cardenas to really show what he’s made of against a higher profile opponent. I don’t consider Ray Willmott to be better than Issac Entragian, but since Ray Willmott is a mainstream guy who doesn’t compete in the No Limits division. When Diego wins this tournament, people will be forced to consider him a great competitor, not just a great hardcore fighter. Mark Perletta: Well to win this tournament, he’ll have to get past Ray Willmott in this match and then go on and win another at the Super Card two weeks from now, and that’s a tough task. Ray Willmott, on the other hand, is looking to continue the winning streak he’s been on here in LEGACY. Alan Ducard: He’s the bloke I’d put my money on to win the tournament and go on to get a World Title shot at the pay per view. Thus far he’s been unstoppable in singles matches while in this organization, and with big wins against Alex Harmston at CALL TO ARMS and Eli Storm at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS respectively, Ray Willmott has proven that he is at his best on the biggest of stages. Landon Savage: He’s not perfect at pay per views, but Diego de Cardenas has a very good track record at big events. That’s where he nearly won the Sky High Cup, that’s where he won the No Limits Title, that’s where he defended the No Limits Title. Mark Perletta: Both of these men are tough competitors who have come up big when the lights are bright, so either one of them would make for a great opponent for whomever is the World Champion at the pay per view, but only one of them can make it to the finals of this tournament. Alan Ducard: I see no purpose in talking about it further. The match started off quickly and did not disappoint. To find out who moves on to the next round, it is now time to see the footage. Start : Footage from the Match Diego has Ray Willmott in a waist lock, but can’t quite get him off his feet with an apparent German suplex attempt as Ray locks his feet around Diego’s leg, blocking the attempt. Diego nails a few forearms into the back of Willmott’s upper back, but before he can make another attempt at a German suplex, Ray tosses some wild elbows at Diego, connecting on his eyebrow with the point of his elbow. Stunned from the elbow shots, Ray reverses the go-behind and locks Diego’s waist in tight. Ray lifts up like he’s going for a German suplex, but instead of falling back with it, he drives Diego down to the mat head first. Hooking the legs on the landing in a victory roll position, the referee counts. One! Two! Thr- Diego manages to use the full force of his legs and sends Ray flying forward off of him. Mark Perletta: Excellent maneuver Alan Ducard: Very nice combination move there with the German suplex turned in mid-slam to a victory roll driver. Lad’s got style. Landon Savage: Uh, “lad”? Oh man... Ray gets to his feet immediately, and seizes Diego with a headlock as he tries to get off the ground as well. Diego instinctively sends Ray into the ropes. Ray on the rebound, and Diego leap frogs him. Ray puts the brakes on and as Diego lands, Ray hooks the neck and drops down with a falling neckbreaker. Willmott with another cover attempt, but Diego gets a shoulder up at two! Alan Ducard: Ray Willmott is showing a true fire tonight. Mark Perletta: He certainly is. Willmott’s a world class athlete. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before he’s a world champion in LEGACY. Landon Savage: Lets not get ahead of ourselves, gentlemen. This tournament is all about getting a shot at the world title. But Willmott has to go through Diego, then either Cade or John Thomas... and THEN Loco Martinez, first. That’s a lot of talent to get through. Alan Ducard: Well point, mate. Ray starts to bring Diego to his feet, when suddenly Diego pushes Ray off of him and into the referee. The referee is bumped back a few feet, but not hard enough to go down. Willmott turns around as the referee checks his lip for blood after it connected with the back of Willmott’s head, when Diego reaches up with a nasty low blow. Alan Ducard: Aw that’s a bunch of bollocks! Landon Savage: I don’t know what a bollock is, but Diego’s extremely smart. He knew knocking the referee down would’ve looked too intentional. Willmott’s knees buckle, and Diego takes this opportunity to wrap his arm around Ray’s neck as if he’s going for a reverse DDT. Instead of dropping to the mat though, Diego somersaults forward with Ray’s head still hooked, driving Diego’s face down to the mat with a flipping stunner! Alan Ducard: Fabulous! Mark Perletta: Incredible move! This one could be over! Diego hooks both legs in deep and the referee counts... One! Two! Thr- No! Ray Willmott kicks out! Landon Savage: I thought this one was over! Diego stands up, looking at the referee with a face of incredulity, and then at Hannah with a look of desperation. Motioning something towards her, Hannah Perez immediately starts heading for Josephina Colbert. After some heated words, Hannah grabs Josephina by her hair and shoves her down to the outside mat to a rouse of booing from the crowd. Grabbing the steel chair she was sitting on. Hannah, with a gleam of insanity in her eye, threatens to strike Josephina with it before looking at the ring. Suddenly, the crowd starts clamoring as, out of nowhere, Cronos Diamante SPRINTS down the aisle way towards the ring. Alan Ducard: Blimey! Mr. Diamante is out here and in a hurry! Cronos sprints down to the side of the ring where Hannah Perez has climbed up onto the apron. All of a sudden, Cronos grabs her by the waist and sets her down on the outside. Taken aback by the much, much larger Cronos, Hannah begins backing up with the steel chair. Then, showing that fiery Latino side, she tries to slap Cronos across the face. Cronos grabs her arm, smirks, and then grabs the steel chair from her. Diego meanwhile, has noticed the commotion on the outside, and looks directly at Cronos. Landon Savage: Oh boy. Diego doesn’t like he’s happy at all that Cronos just touched his woman. Mark Perletta: Cronos just saved this great match from ending in the trenches. I’m glad he got physical with Hannah, because you know she had plans for Ray with that chair. Alan Ducard: I don’t doubt that at all, mate. Hannah had the look of a lass that was up to no good. Looking like he’s not sure if he wants to go outside and attack Cronos, Diego looks back at Ray and decides to refrain himself from doing so. Cronos continues on up the ramp, looking at the steel chair and shaking his head, obviously unhappy with what Hannah and Diego were going to do to Ray Willmott. As Ray finally gets up from the mat, Diego starts heading towards him, when Willmott lunges at him with a flying clothesline. Diego goes down, and Willmott takes a moment to recover from the flipping stunner he received moments earlier. Alan Ducard: Looks like that flipping stunner effected Ray more than it seemed. I honestly haven’t a clue how he kicked out of it! Mark Perletta: Tenacity, Alan. Tenacity. Diego gets to his feet, shaking the cobwebs from that flying clothesline Ray connected. Before he can get his senses cleared, Willmott is lunging a knee into his mid-section. Ray then sends Diego into the ropes with great force, and on the rebound Diego is stopped for the slightest second by Ray’s body. Ray then hooks the arms around Diego’s waist and nails a release overhead belly to belly suplex! Alan Ducard: Incredible! Willmott stands up, and yells out loud with his arms at his side, completely pumped up in the moment. The fans go wild as Willmott begins ascending to the top rope. Mark Perletta: I think we all know what Ray is going for! Landon Savage: The question is, which variation? The axe-kick or the leg drop? As soon as Willmott stands on the top rope he looks out at everyone in attendance, nods, and then flies off of the top rope with a 450 degree guillotine leg drop! Alan Ducard: Outstanding! He nailed the “Elegance”! Immediately making the cover, Ray hooks a leg as the referee makes the count. Hannah is heard screaming at the top of her lungs, pounding on the mat for her man Diego to get off of the mat. One! Two! Hannah Perez: DIEEEEGOOOOOOOO!!!!! THREE! As soon as the three count is heard, the fans erupt and the bell rings. But before an announcement is made, Josephina Colbert SHOVES Hannah Perez down to the mat on the outside with the microphone in hand. Josephina Colbert: The WINNER... of the MATCH... Josephina gets even closer to Hannah, who is sitting on her ass and completely livid over the events that have unfolded. Josephina Colbert: *screaming in Hannah’s face* RAY.... WIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLMOTTTTTTTTT!!!! Mark Perletta: With that victory, we not only get our first qualifier for the Number One Contenders Match at the SuperCard as Ray Willmott will take that spot, but Cronos Diamante gets a measure of revenge as he keeps Hannah Perez from being involved in the outcome of this match. Alan Ducard: I couldn't be happier with the result, and it has nothing to do with Diego losing. Ray Willmott is a fellow Brit, so clearly him winning was my preference, and I believe I've made it clear thus far that I'm not the kind of chap who likes weapons getting involved in matches in which they are illegal, so seeing an unblemished finish to such an important match also pleases me greatly. Landon Savage: Well it would have pleased me greatly to see Diego de Cardenas finally start to get the respect he deserves, but quite obviously it won't be starting tonight. Ringside
Mark Perletta: We're now going just over to our right now where Andrew Kelley is with the newest member of LEGACY, Andrew? We see Andrew Kelley standing at ringside on one side of the barrier
next to a man dressed in a pair of jeans and a LEGACY t-shirt standing
on the other side of the barrier. Andrew Kelley: "Well you do have one of the best seats in the house, right here at ringside. But to anyone who doesn't know you, what exactly are you going to bring to LEGACY?" John Iley: "That's simple, I'm doing this for the fans who come to the arenas to watch the shows and the fans at home watching on TV and order the Pay Per Views. I'm going to bring them nothing but what I do best in that ring, and that’s wrestle! At one time England had a great wrestling heritage, we prided ourselves on our pure mat style wrestling, I've taken it and plied my trade around the world, and I'm bringing technical wrestling here to LEGACY and showing people just what I can do with it! I've basically made it my own style and I'll prove to everyone of these fans in LEGACY why John Iley is Brilliantly Technical... and Technically Brilliant!" Andrew Kelley: "So when can we see this style in the LEGACY ring?" John Iley: "As soon as the powers that be here see fit to get me in there. And I'm chomping at the bit already, the fans are going to see what I can do, real soon!" Andrew Kelley: "Well I for one can't wait to see it happen, ladies and gentleman, the 'Brilliantly Techincal' John Iley is coming the LEGACY ring real soon! Thanks John and good luck!!" "Dragula" by Rob Zombie plays out as Iley salutes the crowd with them cheering him on! Iley then sits down, grabs his beer and makes a toast to the camera before we head back to the recap booth. Semi-Final Match
Cade Sydal vs John Thomas Alan Ducard: Our next to last match of the night is our second and final match of the first round of the mini tournament to determine who will face the World Champion at the next pay per view event. Mark Perletta: Not only is this the first round of the tournament, but it’s also the semi-final round of the tournament. One of these men – either John Thomas or “Strong Style Dragon” Cade Sydal – will move on to SuperCard STRIFE 27 to face the winner of the other semi-final match from tonight – “Red Hot” Ray Willmott. Landon Savage: Not to take anything away from Jake Dominion, Justin Moreno, Diego de Cardenas, or Ray Willmott, but I’ve been anticipating this match between John Thomas and Cade Sydal ever since it was announced. Alan Ducard: As have I, Landon. Mark Perletta: As have a lot of people, and I’m not surprised. “Strong Style Dragon” Cade Sydal is recently coming off of a great run with the Tao of Valor Championship. In addition to being the right hand man of the LEGACY World Champion, John Thomas has also been on a good run as of late, picking up some big wins to put himself into this position to be considered one of the top six contenders to the World Title. Landon Savage: And wouldn’t that be something interesting if John Thomas were to win this tournament and face his friend Loco Martinez at the pay per view? Alan Ducard: It would, but three things stand in his way: Cade Sydal, then my countryman Ray Willmott, and thirdly we should be mindful that Loco Martinez might not make it to the pay per view with the championship still in his possession, depending on how either Justin Moreno or Jake Dominion do against him at SuperCard STRIFE 27. Mark Perletta: As you probably could guess, this match started out quick as both of the young competitors tried to get the early advantage. Once they realized that trying to do things more quickly than each other, the match then turned into a tactical match, each man trying to pick the right spot to turn the match to their advantage. Landon Savage: Cade Sydal was the first to get an advantage, but it was John Thomas who I’d say did the better job, obviously trying to set Cade up for his Crossface Chicken-Wing. Alan Ducard: And it was all because of a mis-timed high risk move from Cade Sydal, a rare mental slip-up from a competitor who is usually sharp as a tack. Start : Footage from the Match Cade Sydal is pulled off the canvas, and sent off the ropes. John Thomas rushes Cade on the rebound and levels him with an elbow to the chin! Thomas smirks and plays to the crowd arrogantly. Alan Ducard: I wish he’d keep his bloody head in the game. Cade Sydal isn’t some rookie sensation. Landon Savage: John Thomas has had control over Cade’s head and neck for some time now, and I think he’s just really comfortable with his position right now. Thomas turns around toward Cade just as Cade starts to nip up! Cade wraps his knees around Thomas’ head and snaps back under with a hurricanrana that spills Thomas through the ropes to the outside! Mark Perletta: Cade Sydal, out of nowhere, sent John Thomas sailing to the outside! Alan Ducard: That’s how the young man has made a name for himself, both as the Strong Style Dragon and as we see him here tonight! Cade pushes off the canvas and rushes to the ropes. He rebounds, building momentum, as Thomas turns around, Cade sails over the top rope with a Tope Can Hilo onto Thomas! Cade rolls through and ends up on his feet and rushes the security railing, playing it up to the fans who cheer wildly! Landon Savage: Cade needs to keep his eye on John Thomas. Just as Cade is no slouch, neither is Thomas. Mark Perletta: You’re absolutely right about that, Landon. Cade turns around and grabs Thomas, rolling him under the bottom rope. Cade springs onto the apron and slingshots over the top rope, he turns and drops an elbow across Thomas’ chest! Cade hooks the leg deep! ONE! TWO! Thomas kicks out! Alan Ducard: Cade Sydal with an impressive nearfall. Landon Savage: Nearfalls, unfortunately, don’t add up. Cade pulls Thomas to his feet and drives him back to the nearest corner. Cade starts drilling Thomas with forearms. Cade sends Thomas out of the corner to the opposite corner, but Thomas spins under Cade’s arm to reverse the whip, pulling Cade right into a short arm clothesline! Thomas drops to a knee and drives Cade’s neck down across his knee instead of a conventional backbreaker! Landon Savage: An incredible backbreaker variant from John Thomas! Mark Perletta: Cade Sydal isn’t too fond of it, I’m willing to bet! Thomas smirks down at Cade before hooking the leg for the cover. ONE! TWO! THR--! Cade kicks both legs, rolling his shoulders off the canvas! Thomas pulls Cade to his feet and grabs him by the wrist and twisting around into a standing armbar. Thomas quickly ascends the turnbuckles and walks half-way across the top rope before smirking towards the crowd and coming off the rope, driving his knee into the back of Cade’s neck, riding him down to the mat. Thomas rolls over Cade’s head and pops up to his feet, throwing his arms out wide to a chorus of jeers! Mark Perletta: John Thomas just hit Cade Sydal with his New School maneuver, but he’s too busy jawing with the fans to capitalize! Alan Ducard: That’s what I meant by keepin’ his bloody head in the game, Mark! Cade lies on the canvas, kicking his right foot into it rapidly, as he cradles his neck. Thomas looks down at his handy work, before rolling Cade over and hooking the leg once more. ONE! TWO! T--! Cade kicks out, authoritively. Thomas pulls Cade up and places his face on the top rope before dragging it across the rope, scraping at his face! Cade drops to the second rope, leaning against it, when John Thomas releases him. Thomas quickly presses his knee into the back of Cade’s head, choking him across the rope. Alan Ducard: Why must he choke the man? Can’t he just get the job done without all that? Landon Savage: John Thomas is a man of action. He will do whatever it takes to pick up a win, to advance in this tournament, for a chance at the LEGACY World Title. Thomas pulls Cade off the ropes as the referee admonishes him. John Thomas glances up at the ramp in the process and spots something. The camera follows his gaze, and locks on Trent Logan, standing on the stage, watching the match carefully. Landon Savage: That’s Domination’s manager! John Thomas doesn’t look too pleased to see him! Mark Perletta: Do you blame him? His best friend Ron Bailey schemed to have Domination lose a tag title match at DESTINED FOR GREATNESS, and clearly Trent Logan found out! He’s sending a message to John Thomas and Ron Bailey right here… Thomas turns back to Cade and sends Cade off the ropes. Thomas swings a clothesline, but Cade catches the arm and swings behind Thomas, hooking him in an inverted facelock! Mark Perletta: Cade could be going for the Nightcap, an old finisher of his! Cade twists under Thomas, but Thomas stops behind Cade and breaks free! Thomas hooks under Cade’s arm and starts to reach for the head! Alan Ducard: He’s going for his Crossface Chicken Wing! Cade ducks his head, avoiding getting it caught for the crossface, Cade spins under Thomas’ arm and whips him around, leaping into the air, Cade drives his foot across Thomas’ face! Landon Savage: NINJAGUIRI! Cade rolls John Thomas over, quickly, and hooks his leg! ONE! TWO! THREE! The bell sounds, and “Bullet With a Name” by Nonpoint hits! Cade gets to his feet and raises his arms victoriously, as Thomas lies on the canvas cradling his head. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner, at a time of 19 minutes and 18 seconds! And advancing in the tournament to crown a new number one contender to the LEGACY World Heavyweight Championship! CADE SYDAL! Mark Perletta: And now we have our second qualifier for the Number One Contenders Match at the SuperCard, and Cade Sydal will step into the ring with Ray Willmott to determine who gets the World Title shot at the pay per view. Landon Savage: John Thomas looks less than pleased with the result of this match... and he's looking straight up the ramp at Trent Logan, not happy to see Domination's manager standing there. Alan Ducard: Trent Logan doesn't appear to want to get into a war of words with John Thomas, who is jaw jacking over the top rope... Mark Perletta: It appears Trent Logan is going to let someone else do his talking for him!! The fans let out a chorus of cheers as both Ben Murdock and Steve O'Reily run out from the back, charging down the ramp, headed right for the ring. John Thomas spots them coming and heads out the back of the ring just as Domination slides into the ring. As the two behemoths run across the ring, John Thomas hops over the security guardrail, backing up through the isle out in the crowd, avoiding the attack. The scene then cuts back to the recap position. Landon Savage: What kind of CRAP is that all about?! Mark Perletta: Trent Logan undoubtedly saw the footage recorded earlier where Ron Bailey was talking to John Thomas... they know that John Thomas and Ron Bailey are friends, so why not get a bit of revenge by going after him? Alan Ducard: Right after STRIFE ended, I received word from Smith Cartwright himself that at the SuperCard, we will see Domination take on Ron Bailey and a partner of his choosing, who I can only assume is going to be John Thomas. Landon Savage: Ben Murdock and Steve O'Reily will be lucky if Ron Bailey chooses someone other than John Thomas, because after what we just saw, I imagine John Thomas is going to want to get his hands on those guys. Alan Ducard: After seeing John Thomas run away, I don't believe it looked like John wanted any involvement with those blokes. Backstage
The scene opens backstage. Reporter Andrew Kelley is roaming the hallway aimlessly with his mic in hand, looking for the ultimate backstage interview. He turns the corner and who does he see headed towards his locker room, none other than Jake Dominion, decked out in a black three-piece Armani suit. Andrew Kelley rushes over to stop Dominion before he's about to enter his locker room when Kelley accidentally stumbles a little, catching Dominion's attention, as he regains his balance and starts to speak. Andrew Kelley: Mr. Dominion, Mr. Dominion can I get a quick word with you? Dominion looks over at Andrew with his eye brow raised as he retorts. Jake Dominion: You look very familiar. Aren't you that intern guy who wore that name tag and interviewed me like over a year ago? Andrew Kelley: Well, yes, kinda, but I was never an intern Mr. Dominion. I interviewed you when I first started working here as the new backstage interviewer and yes I wore a name tag so people knew who I was and... Jake cuts him off before he can continue. Jake Dominion: Ok, ok, ok, kid, you've seem to have come a long way since being a newbie then but I have a huge match coming up tonight, so make it quick. Andrew Kelley: Thank you Mr. Dominion. First off congrats on your huge victory over Crash at Destined for Greatness. Now as you said yourself you have a huge matchup tonight against Justin Moreno for the number one contendership to the LEGACY World Title, now are you concerned with possible Diabolik interference? Jake just stares at him like he's asked a stupid question, Andrew Kelley starts to sweat a little as Jake replies. Jake Dominion: Concerned, huh? Let's see... how about NO. Those damn brain-washed cronies tried to interfere in my match at Destined for Greatness and what happened? NOTHING. They were a non-factor, so no I'm not concerned... Andrew Kelley: But Mr. Dominion, that was a cage match, this isn't. Jake Dominion: So? You think I couldn't handle it even if they did? Andrew Kelley: I hate to bring this up Mr. Dominion, but they were responsible for costing you a win in the Hawkins Memorial Tournament against the same opponent you are going to be facing tonight, so history could repeat itse... Before Kelley could finish that word, Dominion gives him a death glare that would burn a hole through steel. Andrew Kelley starts to feel real uncomfortable as he loosens his tie and takes a big gulp as Dominion steps forward causing Kelley to back into the wall, scared for his life as Dominion smirks and calmly takes that step back resulting in Kelley letting out a huge breath as Dominion replies. Jake Dominion: Anything can happen kid... but it WONT. The stakes have been raised, this match will determine who will go on to face Loco for the LEGACY World Title at the Super Card and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let ANYONE get in my way of fulfilling my destiny. Things happen for a reason, I didn't win the Hawkins Tourney cause it wasn't meant to be, but tonight, tonight's a different story. Not The Diabolik, Not JT, Not Loco himself will get in my way tonight of taking what's mine... Andrew Kelley: Speaking of your match tonight, you are facing Justin Moreno who you've seem to have gotten close with recently, how will this affect your match? Again, Jake just stares at him, pausing a brief moment before replying. Jake Dominion: Do you have a hearing problem? Do I need to spell stuff out for you kid? As far as affecting anything, it wont. As far as Justin goes, it'll be my pleasure to be stepping into the ring with him again and this time it'll have a fair outcome, mark my words. Justin has come a long way and I'm proud of how he's doing, but tonight.... I'll be damned if I'll walk out without... without taking him to hell and back again. Expect a hard fought match, expect a competitive match, and expect a certain outcome. Andrew Kelley: Ok Mr. Dominion, so hypothetically speaking, if you are victorious tonight and you go on to face Loco Martinez at the Super Card for the LEGACY World Title, would you be concerned with John Thomas interfering once again? Jake stops and just shakes his head as he replies. Jake Dominion: Wow, did you go to school for journalism or something? Cause your parents must have wasted a lot of money investing in you. What kinda fucking question is that? I don't got time to answer your hypothetical questions, ask me that at least after I face Moreno. My main concern right now is beating Justin Moreno and securing the number one contendership to the LEGACY World Title. FUCK Loco, FUCK JT and FUCK The Diabolik because it has NOTHING to do with them tonight, it's all about Jake Dominion versus Justin Moreno for the number one contendership and THAT'S all you should concern yourself with... Jake pauses for a brief second before continuing. Jake Dominion: Good luck to Justin Moreno tonight, may the best man win. Now get the hell outta my face kid and go bother someone who will put up with your idiocy. And if for some reason you haven't figured it out just yet, this interview is over. Be-gone... With that, Dominion enters the locker room and slams the door behind him, leaving Andrew Kelley in the hallway with his mic in hand just staring aimlessly. Merchandising
Out in the vending area of the arena. We're at the merchendising table
of Loco Martinez. We see various t-shirts, 8x10 photos, a few action
figures, and even a few replica trophy cases. Behind the table counting
some money are T.Rex and Arch Angel. Watching over them proudly is Loco
Martinez, a huge smile on his face, as he holds a replica trophy case. He looks at it again. Loco Martinez: Look at the detail of this replica
trophy case! You can almost see my fingerprints on the Legacy World
title inside this case. Hell, look at the stitching on my Spelling Bee
ribbon? This is high quality work. Twenty bucks for this is a damned
bargain! T.Rex: Yeah. I'm a real real good chef. I got crazy
kitchen skills. Ask Angel. Loco Martinez: WELCOME, and step right up to see all
the amazing goods available from Loco Martinez Enterprises! Number One Contenders
Match
Jake Dominion vs Justin Moreno Mark Perletta: And now we have come to the point in the show where all we have left to give you is one final match, and it’s a significant one. Alan Ducard: Not too many months ago, I heard LEGACY’s detractors claim there was a lacking of marquee matches on Strife, and to become the elite organization in this business it needed to have significant matches on free television more frequently. I would say that with tonight’s program, those detractors have to find other things to say against our organization. Landon Savage: Someone decided to kick things up a notch with the marquee matches, there’s no doubt about that, and with our next show being a SuperCard, the momentum should carry at least into mid October. Mark Perletta: I’ve heard the front office has some ideas floating around about a Halloween show. Alan Ducard: Whatever they decide, I do so very much hope they have costumes. I always liked that American tradition. Landon Savage: Anyway… in tonight’s main event match we get a rematch from the semi-finals of this year’s inaugural Hawkins Memorial Tournament as Jake Dominion gets into the ring with Justin Moreno. Mark Perletta: Back in January it was Justin Moreno picking up a victory over Dominion in a controversial finish involving John Thomas, so you know Dominion was looking forward to getting the chance at redemption. Alan Ducard: In the early goings of this match I got a bit of a surprise
as we were joined for commentary by THE Legacy World Champion. The camera zooms out to show Loco Martinez standing at the edge of the recap position table. Marke Perletta: Yes... we are aware. So lets take a look, shall we? Landon Savage: And can someone get him a chair?! He IS, after all, THE LEGACY Superstar. Start : Footage from the Match After the exchange, both men get back to their feet and size each other
up, then meet in the middle of the ring and once again lock up. Jake
authoritatively pushes Moreno back and tries a dropkick to the knee,
but Moreno deftly jumps. He then tries to drop a quick leg onto Dominion,
but Dominion rolls out of the way. Both men quickly kip up and stand
eye to eye as the crowd applauds their collective athleticism. Two... THREE-!!NOO!NO!NONO!!!!! Moreno just kicks out from the surprise pin
attempt. Moreno gets up and goes at Jake who again drops down taking
Justin down violently with a drop toe hold. Dominion then quickly gets
on Moreno's back and locks in.... Alan Ducard: This could be where it ends... Dominion wrenchs tighter and unleashes a gutteral growl. But Moreno's
not tapping. He reaches his feet towards the ropes, and is just inches
away. He continues to wiggle and struggle to get out. Dominion slips
a little cuz of Justin's constant moving. Justin feels it and uses his
legs to roll over on top of Jake, making a cover. One... Two... Jake falls back into a bridge laying all his weight onto Justin. THREE!!! Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner... and NUMBER ONE CONTENDER TO THE WORLD TITLE... Jake... Dooooominion!! Mark Perletta: ??? Alan Ducard: ??? Landon Savage: ?? Getting up onto the turnbuckle, Jake turns his attention to the screaming fans as he raises one fist into the air, further acknowledging his victory. He then turns his attention towards Loco Martinez, who sits at the announce table. As Jake begins to motion at his waist giving the universal sign for "I Want Your Championship Belt", Loco Martinez gets to his feet with a smirk on his face, just glaring up at Jake Dominion. Mark Perletta: Tonight's show has come to an end, and the next time we end a LEGACY television program, these two individuals will have just finished a match inside that very ring with the LEGACY World Title on the line, and I can't wait. Alan Ducard: What an exciting show that's already shaping up to be, and I can't wait to see the rest of the bookings. Landon Savage: That's it for tonight, we'll see you in Oklahoma City for SuperCard STRIFE 27. We get one last camera shot from inside the ring, the cameraman getting Jake Dominion ,standing atop the second turnbuckle, on the right half of the scene, and Loco Martinez, standing at the announce table, on the left half of the scene, and that's where we fade to black. |
