The Ladies Man and
the Masked Man
The camera cuts back and we see Tim Jones walking around the corner slowly sipping on a Bud Light with a towl wrapped around his shoulders. He turns the corner, brings the drink to his lips, and his eyes close as he begins to swallow the sweet golden nectre of the gods. Suddenly the feeling of euphoria is gone. Someone has bumped into him causing him to spill the beer all over the ground.. Tim Jones: Wha the fu.... He looks up from the chest he was staring at and sees a mask. It's Gigantus Awesomo. Tim Jones: Where the hell do you think you were going, getting in the way of the Ladies Man Tim Jones? You need to watch where the hell you are walking rookie! Gigantus looks at the person behind him, a small englsh man with spectacles and a pull-over sweater. His name is Giles.Giles then nods and steps forward. Giles: Excuse me sir... My client here would like to aploogize. Jones looks confused and angered. Tim Jones: Your client wants to apologize? Well how about he opens up that thing that holds his teeth.. You know his mouth? And why doesn't he apologize on his own? Why does he need a lacky like you to do his talking? Giles looks a bit put off. Giles: Now listen here you ignorant American twit. I'm no lacky. He doesn't speak- Gigantus puts his hand on Giles' shoulder, and Giles looks back at him. Awesomo then nods, and Giles sighs. Giles: Fine... Mr. Awesomo here says that if it helps you forgive his accident he will buy you a new... What is that? Juice? Tim Jones: Juice? Juice! That was the King of Beers my friend, Budwesier, just like I am the King of the Ladies Men. Tim Jones turns around to model his brand new shirt that just got released this week by Legacy Merch. Giles: Budweiser? Budwesier isnt qualified to be considered quality beer! It wouldn't even pass as the drag QUEEN of beers. Jones just stands there mouth agape. Tim Jones: What did you say...I must be going deaf... huh? Can't even- I WANT MY GOD DAMN APOLOGY YOU SWEATER WEARING FREAK! Giles clears his throat, and Gigantus nudges him. Giles: Gigantus is sorry. Gigantus nods! Giles: Next time he'll make sure to make more room for your ego, so he won't get in your way! Tim Jones: It's not ego pal, I just know and all of those fans in that arena know that I am better than you. So before you start to overestimate yourself just know this fact. I will always be better than you, Awesomo. I don’t need cheap tricks to tell the fans how great I am, they just see how damn great I am. Giles: It's too bad you need to turn cheap tricks in the locker room to make yourself know how great you are. Gigantus slaps him in the head. Giles: I mean... We weren't talking about your talent. Gigantus lives in reality, and only talks about things that exist! He flinches thinking Gigantus is gonna hit him again, but Awesomo nods and pats him on the back. Tim Jones: What? You really want to get hit in the head don't you? You are not in your "fantasy" reality, you're talking to the headlining, show stopping Tim "The Ladies Man" Jones. And I think I have had enough of you. So if you will please, step aside, and let the winner of the Battle Royal get ready to knock your dumb ass over the top rope! Gigantus puts his hand in Tim's chest to stop him, and shakes his head no. Giles: Hmm... Mr. Awesomo seems to disagree! Tim takes Gigantus's hand off of his chest and lools him dead in the eye... Tim Jones: The next time you touch me, it will be the last time. Gigantus laughs and pokes Jones in the forehead! Tim reels back a bit and slaps his foot straight up into the face of Giles, knocking him to the ground. He then gets close to Gigantus looks up face to face with Gigantus, with a glare in the eyes of the Ladies Man. Tim Jones: Lets see how tough you are now with out your little lacky around to do all your talking. Gigantus inches closer to Jones and looks down on him. He then speaks. Gigantus: MOO! He then slaps Tim in the face. Gigantus: Woof... He slaps Tim again. Gigantus: Bark.... Slaps Tim on both sides. Gigantus: Oink. Neigh... He slaps Tim one more time, and then Jones looks back at Gigantus and slaps him back in the face. Tim Jones: Are you retarded or something is that your problem? Why the hell can't you be normal? Giles gets off the floor holding his head. Giles: Becuase he's NOT normal. Tim stares at Gigantus. Tim Jones: Who the hell are you? Giles: Uh oh... Mr. Awesomo hates that question! Awesomo begins to walk at Jones, but Giles gets in between them. Giles: I'm pretty sure your screwed now. He turns it back to Gigantus. Giles: Gigantus... You don't need this now. You NEED to get to the ring. Save it for the ring. HE will be out there after all. Gigantus stops, and the two whisper to each other. Giles then turns to Tim. Giles: Mr. Awesomo says that he is SO positive that not only will you NOT win, nor throw him over the top rope, but that he will win... That he is offering a bet. You're a betting man right? Tim Jones: What are the terms? Giles: If Gigantus wins, then you have to clean his mask. But beware... He hasnt taken it off in three months. Tim holds back some nausea. Tim: And if he loses? Giles: Then he will give the entire world a HINT of who he is. Tim thinks it over for a second. Tim Jones: What the hell why not. There's not a chance in hell this clown will make it down to the final three let alone win this thing. I'll personally see to that myself! Gigantus then nods, throws down a five dollar bill, and walks away, Giles trotting after him. Tim then bends down picks up the money, and sighs. Tim Jones: What the hell?! This isn't enough for another beer!! The view then switches over to a shot inside the arena bowl where we find the three members of the announce team sitting behind a table, all three of them dressed up in suits. The live crowd is going wild behind them. Mark Perletta: Hello folks and welcome to Brick by Brick! I'm Mark Perletta, joined by Joey C to my left, Landon Savage to my right, and we've got a ton of action yet to come tonight, and with so much going on, we're going to head down to the ring to let things get started. No Limit Title Match
Diego de Cardenas vs Katsuro Yoshida (c)
Josephina Colbert: Our opening bout of the night is set for one fall and is for the No Limits Championship!! The excitement level across the arena picks up as the fans realize that the in-ring action is about to begin, and with a championship match, nevertheless. Josephina Colbert: Introducing first, the challenger of this match up… The opening notes of “Oye Como Va” by Santana start up over the speakers and the house lights dim, replaced by red and green spotlights which circle around the arena bowl. The entrance ramp is lit by green lights from one side and red lights from the other. Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at 181 pounds… He is Diego… de Cardenas! Out from the back walks Diego de Cardenas, sporting long tights, one leg green, the other red. He’s wearing his new LEGACY produced shirt, only the sides of the shirt have been cut, and he’s wearing the shirt like a poncho. With Hannah Perez by his side, Diego de Cardenas walks down to the ring, a huge grin on his face despite the booing coming from all around the arena. Mark Perletta: Boy, Diego sure does look confident of himself here tonight. Landon Savage: And why wouldn’t he be? He’s every bit as tough as Katsuro Yoshida. Haven’t you ever seen some of the Death Matches Diego has been in? American hardcore matches don’t usually compare favorably to the ones in Mexico… Joey C: Or Japan! Let’s not forget about that! When two guys in Japan have a vendetta against one another, those matches get hella violent, and you KNOW that Katsuro has been in a number of those in his day. Landon Savage: Even still, I think Diego has every right to feel confident about his chances of leaving here with championship gold… and no matter what happens, that smile will still be on his face tomorrow because when he wakes up in the morning, he has Hannah Perez right there with him. Mark Perletta: You make a very valid point there, Landon. Once he gets to the bottom of the ramp, Diego hops up onto the apron and waits as Hannah Perez walks up the steel steps. Just before she gets to the top step, Diego runs over, puts his left foot onto the middle durnbuckle, puts his right hand onto the top rope and then flips backwards into a cartwheel style maneuver, landing both feet down onto the bottom rope. Reaching down, Diego pulls up on the middle rope, holding it as Hannah Perez enters the ring. Mark Perletta: Nifty little move there by Diego, and no matter how he talks to his opponents, no matter what he does or says to them, you can bet he’s going to treat that little lady right. Landon Savage: He’d be an idiot not to! Have you seen the poster that’s available of her through LEGACY Merch? All I can say is WOW. Joey C: Yeah, well Diego better make sure he’s focused for this match, because one absent minded moment could cost him championship gold. Josephina Colbert: Introducing next, his opponent... There is silence for a moment after Diego’s music fades under, and then the lights all over the arena go out completely. The traditional Japanese music of the Bushido Buntai begins to play and a faint red spotlight shines down onto the entrance ramp. Cloaked entirely in black, a figure makes his way out from the backstage area and starts walking down the entrance ramp. Some of the fans cheer, but most of them seem to not know how to react, as a lot of them probably don’t even see him coming out, or aren’t sure who it is. Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at 264 pounds, hailing from Miura Japan... he is the current No Limits Champion... Katsuro... Yoshida! Mark Perletta: What a creepy, creepy entrance this is, and you know, this entrance, it’s very fitting. Katsuro Yoshida grew up training to be a warrior of the light and of the shadows. Landon Savage: I hope he realizes he has to fight Diego de Cardenas with the lights ON. Mark Perletta: I’m sure he does, but that’s not what I meant. With the training he’s had, Katsuro is better prepared to know where his opponent is at all times without having to SEE his opponent. Joey C: He might need to use that more here tonight, with Hannah Perez potentially causing a distraction on the outside of the ring. As the man gets to the bottom of the ramp, the dark figure slides into the ring underneath the bottom rope, and as soon as he hops up to his feet, the dark figure opens up his outside cloak to reveal the No Limits Championship around his waist. Throwing back his hood to reveal that it is, in fact, Katsuro Yoshida, at that moment the house lights in the arena start to fade up, allowing people to better see what’s going on. After fully removing the cloak and tossing it to the outside, Katsuro Yoshida takes off the No Limits Championship and then hands it to the referee, who holds it up above his head. Mark Perletta: And that’s the prize they’re fighting for, the No Limits Championship. Katsuro hopes to extend his reign that began at Advent Empire, whereas Diego de Cardenas is hoping to become the third man to hold that belt. Landon Savage: Right here, right now, this is the last bit of calm before the storm. When that opening bell rings, not only is this match going to start, but the pay per view itself gets kicked off, and I think tonight is going to be a huge night for this organization… I can just FEEL it. Mark Perletta: I’ll agree with that sentiment… here’s the bell… here we go. As the opening bell rings, the two competitors start circling around the inside of the ring for a bit, then meet up in the middle. Diego goes to lock up with his opponent, but Katsuro grabs him by the arm and twists around into a standing armbar. Diego tries to pull his arm away, it doesn’t work, so instead he does a forward roll, then kips up off the mat. No sooner does he reach his feet than he is met with a huge knife-edge chop to the upper chest area by Yoshida which sends him back down to the mat. Landon Savage: Hard shot there by Katsuro Yoshida, but Diego gets right back up. Diego gets back up to his feet, but again he’s sent back down with a knife-edge chop. Cardenas gets back to his feet again, this time blocking an attempt at a knife-edge chop by Katsuro. Seeing that his attempt is being blocked, Yoshida steps around and drives a side thrust kick into Diego’s gut, doubling him over. Yoshida steps in and drops Diego down to the mat with a double-handed strike to the chest area. Mark Perletta: What a hard shot there by the No Limits Champion, but he’s going to have to use a lot more of those to keep Diego on the mat! Joey C: He’s off to a damn good start, though. Diego starts to get up off the mat, but Katsuro grabs him by the arm. Taking a couple steps backwards, Katsuro then whips Diego into the nearest corner. Instead of connecting with the turnbuckle, Diego hops one foot onto the middle rope to his right… then hops over onto the top rope to the left… and then he flings himself backwards, twisting and landing onto Katsuro’s shoulders, grabbing on with his knees and twisting around, flipping Yoshida over and putting him on the mat with a head-scissors takedown. Landon Savage: Katsuro Yoshida working to get up off the mat… and Diego takes him down with a low dropkick to the ribs! Katsuro tries to get up again…. And this time the dropkick goes to the head! Joey C: He’s slow to get up, but he IS getting up! As Katsuro works his way off the mat, Diego fires in with a hard right hand that catches Yoshida on the side of the head. The second one knocks the champion down to one knee, but as Diego goes for a third one, the challenger is rocked by a hard shot to the ribs. This buys Katsuro enough time to get to his feet, and he grabs Diego around the neck… Mark Perletta: SNAP suplex, and one done to perfection by the Bushido Buntai member, not something you’d typically expect to see in a hardcore match. Taking Diego by the wrist, Katsuro brings his opponent up to his feet. Yoshida twists around into a standing armbar. After twisting around, Katsuro swings his leg around into a hook kick right to the jaw of Cardenas, taking him right off his feet! Unrelenting, Katsuro Yoshida bends down and grabs Diego to bring him back to a vertical base, but before he gets him up all the way, Diego grabs him around the head, puts his own head underneath the champion’s chin and then drops STRAIGHT down, pulling Katsuro down with him into a jawbreaker. As soon as Katsuro hits the mat, Diego dives forwards, flipping over into a standing senton splash. * * * * * * * Flash Forward - Later in the Match * * * * * * * With Katsuro Yoshida backed into the corner, Diego de Cardenas runs in, steps up onto the middle rope to the left of his opponent, jumps straight up from there and NAILS Katsuro with a two-legged kick to the chest before backflipping towards the center of the ring. From there Diego takes Katsuro by the arm and goes for an irish whip into the opposite corner, but Katsuro reverses the whip and sends Diego crashing in back first. From there Katsuro does a cartwheel into a round-off, and as he springs off the ground he propels his feet right into the groin of Diego de Cardenas, doubling him over. Joey C: Good God!!! Mark Perletta: I’ve seen backflipping handspring elbow smashes in the corner, but this is a variant I’ve never seen before! Landon Savage: Ever since he started going out with Hannah Perez, I’ve definitely had occasion to want to switch places with Diego… but right now isn’t one of them! Taking Diego by the head, Katsuro Yoshida sends him towards the middle of the ring with a snapmare. After giving Diego a stiff kick to the lower back to drop him down onto his back from the sitting position he was in after the snapmare, Diego measures him up and drops right down with a standing headbutt drop, landing it right into the forehead of Cardenas. Grabbing Diego by the head, Katsuro lifts him to his feet and then puts him in place into a standing head scissors. From there he hoists him up over his head, flipping him over onto his back, grabbing Diego’s arms right near the shoulders into a position for a crucifix bomb… and then Katsuro jumps backwards, sending Diego crashing down to the mat onto his stomach, Katsuro landing on top of him. Joey C: That’s the first half of his move! That’s the first half of that move whose name I can’t pronounce! Mark Perletta: This is the move that Katsuro Yoshida has been winning matches with, and to be honest I’m surprised he tried it out this early into the match, but if he can lock in that submission hold that he finishes off the combo with, he will probably win this match and retain the belt! Landon Savage: Not gonna happen!! As Katsuro Yoshida tried to roll around into the Cattle Mutilation part of the hold, Diego de Cardenas was able to start rolling away, and with a slight pull from Hannah Perez, Diego slid under the bottom rope and out of the ring. Once on the outside, Hannah and Diego start walking away from where they were standing, and Hannah takes him to a nearby corner where she picks up a steel chair and hands it to him. After giving Hannah a kiss on the cheek, Diego darts around the corner, runs part of the way down the length of the ring and then slides in under the bottom rope. Not sure exactly where Diego was going to enter, Katsuro doesn’t move in to get him fast enough, and Diego is able to get to his feet. On his way up, Cardenas tosses the steel chair over to Katsuro Yoshida, who catches it, surprised at the act. Mark Perletta: Why in the world would Diego… Joey C: That’s why! Dropkick! Diego’s plan all along must’ve been to dropkick the chair right into Katsuro’s face, and that’s what he did!! Picking up the chair that Katsuro dropped when he hit the mat, Diego sets the chair up in the middle of the ring. He then grabs Yoshida by the wrist, hoists him up to his feet and then immediately sends him into the ropes with an irish whip. As Katsuro bounces off the ropes, Diego steps up to meet him and then takes him down with a drop toe hold, sending him face first into the chair! Landon Savage: Damn good move there by Diego de Cardenas! Mark Perletta: For anyone who thinks he’s not suited for the No Limits division, let me submit that move as Exhibit A. After he picks Yoshida up off the mat, Diego sends him into the corner with an irish whip. Taking the chair that he used with the drop toe hold a moment ago, Diego sets it up near to the corner where his opponent is slumped over the top rope, and then he backs up into the opposite corner. Running in, Diego jumps up onto the chair and uses it to spring up into the corner. Katsuro grabs Cardenas out of the air, then steps forwards and SLAMS Diego down onto the chair, then he falls down to the mat on the other side of the chair. Mark Perletta: Nice counter there from Katsuro Yoshida, and I have to think that slam definitely caused a lot of pain to Diego. Joey C: That’s the quick thinking you’re going to see a lot more of from the Bushido Buntai. Slowly, Katsuro Yoshida starts to pick himself up off the mat, grabbing the chair to help himself with the process. Once he gets to his feet, Katsuro takes the chair in hand, looks at it, and then places it down on the ribs of Diego de Cardenas. He starts to walk away for a moment, but then Yoshida turns, jumps, and DROPS a knee, DRIVING it into the chair, right into Diego’s ribs. Landon Savage: Yeah, GREAT choice of moves, there, Bushido… screwed up your knee in the process!! After hitting the knee drop, Katsuro rolls over onto his back, holding his knee. Rolling even further still, Yoshida starts to get to his feet, holding his knee. After shaking his leg out and stretching it a little, Katsuro turns around to continue his attack on Diego de Cardenas. As Katsuro leans in, the challenger takes the chair laying on his ribs and throws it at him, nailing him in the face with it. * * * * * * * Flash Forward - Later in the Match * * * * * * * With his chair in hand, Diego makes his way out onto the apron and climbs to the top turnbuckle. Measuring his opponent up, Cardenas then leaps off the top rope. Quickly moving the chair underneath his leg just in time to use it in combination with his leg drop right down onto Katsuro Yoshida. After rolling to the side, Diego moves the chair off of Katsuro, tosses it to the side, and then walks around to Yoshida’s feet. Landon Savage: I think we know what’s coming… Diego setting up for that Figure Four Jackknife Pinfall attempt he’s used to win matches… here’s the set-up into the first part of a Texas Cloverleaf… Mark Perletta: He leans in… and Katsuro Yoshida reaches up, grabs him by the head and rolls him through into a small package roll up… ONE! TWO!! NO!! Diego shoves up and gets his shoulder off the mat, staying in the match. Wanting to stay on the offensive, Diego picks up the chair of the mat, sets it up between Katsuro Yoshida and the corner… then he runs, hops up onto the chair… then up onto the top rope… flinging himself backwards into a moonsault… AND KATSURO YOSHIDA CATCHES HIM, then PLANTS Diego down into the mat head first with a tombstone piledriver! Joey C: Katsuro rolls over… hooks the leg… pinfall attempt…! ONE! TWO!! NO!!! Mark Perletta: How did Diego de Cardenas kick out after that?! Joey C: What’s Katsuro doing?! He needs to stay in on the attack!! Taking the chair and folding it up, Yoshida walks over and jams the chair into the space between the top rope and middle rope in the corner, wedging it in there tight. Katsuro goes back over and grabs Diego by the head, lifting him back to his feet. Grabbing Diego by the wrist, Katsuro sends Diego into the corner hard with an irish whip. Diego hits back first, then slumps down to the mat, his head resting against the chair. Unrelenting, Katsuro Yoshida steps in, spins, and then nails a side thrust kick, nailing Diego in the head, knocking it right into the steel chair, jarring it loose, sending the chair to the outside. Mark Perletta: High impact kick there by Katsuro Yoshida, and Diego de Cardenas is in a bad way right now. Now Katsuro is heading outside of the ring, and where’s he going? To get the chair? Joey C: He’s getting something out from underneath the ring. After reaching underneath the ring apron, he slowly pulls something out… and as he stands it up the crowd starts cheering, excited by the ten foot ladder standing outside the ring, propped up against the top rope. Katsuro walks over and picks up the steel chair that got knocked out of the ring with the kick. Tossing the chair into the ring under the bottom rope, Katsuro then follows in, reaching over the top rope once back on his feet, grabbing the steel chair and bringing it into the ring. Mark Perletta: Apparently the use of a chair isn’t good enough to get the job done, and now Yoshida is bringing a ladder into the match. Joey C: After seeing what he’s been able to do with that chair, I can’t wait to see what he does with that ladder. I’m predicting good things… but not for Diego. Landon Savage: Well he’s setting it up, doesn’t look like he’s going to waste much time before using it… Once he has the ladder all set up, Katsuro Yoshida starts to climb. Once he gets halfway up the ladder, Katsuro feels a hand on his ankle. Instead of firing in with a kick, Yoshida looks down and notices that it’s Hannah Perez, pleading with him, nearly crying, pointing down at Diego. Mark Perletta: I think Hannah is trying to convince Katsuro to NOT jump off of that ladder onto her boyfriend! Joey C: If he’s smart, Katsuro won’t listen to her! Katsuro stands on the ladder, listening to what Hannah has to say, but he doesn’t appear to want to comply with her wishes, and slowly starts to climb even higher. Before he gets up too far, Hannah once again grabs Yoshida by the ankle, stopping his ascent. Tugging his leg slightly, Katsuro tries to free his ankle from her grasp, but he doesn’t pull hard enough. Again he tugs his leg away, this time with more force, and he breaks free. Not giving up, Hannah jumps up and grabs on with both arms, pulling Katsuro’s leg between two of the rungs of the ladder. Mark Perletta: This time as Katsuro tries to pull his leg away it is a bit more complicated, as his leg is stuck in that ladder. Landon Savage: And with all of his attention going towards trying to free his foot from that ladder, I don’t think he even noticed that Diego de Cardenas is getting up off the mat! Before Katsuro Yoshida notices his opponent making a comeback, Diego de Cardenas uses all the energy he’s got left and runs into the opposite ropes. On the return Diego nails a dropkick into the ladder just after Hannah Perez moves out of the way. The ladder tilts over and hits the top rope, and as it does, Katsuro Yoshida falls down to the outside. Crowd: OOOOHHH!!!! Joey C: Damn it!! Mark Perletta: Katsuro Yoshida taking a huge fall all the way down to the arena floor, and that just turned the tide in this match. Landon Savage: Diego doesn’t seem to be happy with the idea of giving Katsuro any time to get back in this match, and he looks like he’s going to try to follow this up… he’s setting back up the ladder! Inside the ring, Diego pushes the ladder over near the edge of the ring and then he slowly starts climbing. Rung by rung, the excitement level throughout the crowd starts growing as he ascends to the top. Once he gets to the top, he pauses and measures Katsuro Yoshida up on the outside. With a smirk on his face, Diego closes his eyes, steps to the very top of the ladder and leaps… spinning into a corkscrew… and LANDING A SENTON SPLASH!! Mark Perletta: Oh my God, I can’t believe he just did that! Landon Savage: And now he’s going for the pinfall! Pinfalls outside the ring count in No Limits matches, and Diego’s going for it! The referee slides to the outside and makes the count… ONE… TWO… THREE! Josephina Colbert: Here is your win... Suddenly Hannah Perez takes the microphone out of Josephina's hand and steps back. Hannah Perez: This needs to be done correctly! As a result of a pinfall, here is your winner and THE NEWEST NO LIMIT CHAMPION... DIEGO... de... CARDENAS!!! WOOO!!! Mark Perletta: Hannah Perez appears to have decided that she is more qualified to announce Diego's victory than the woman who beat her in the Ring Announcer contest, and so... Landon Savage: And so what, maybe she is? Frankly I think this was a great thing to happen. We all know that Hannah should've got this job, and if it weren't for cultural biases coming into play... And besides, Hannah put the much needed emotion into making that announcement, because this is a huge day for Diego de Cardenas, winning his first championship belt here in LEGACY. Look how happy he is! Inside the ring, Hannah Perez brings the No Limit Championship belt and hands it to Diego de Cardenas. He hugs the belt, then hands it to Hannah Perez, who walks behind him and puts it around his waist for him like boxing champions typically do. Once it's on, Diego hops up onto the second turnbuckle and throws his arms straight up into the air, a fair portion of the crowd booing him. As he hears their reaction, he gets a defiant smirk on his face and he raises a single finger from each of his fists. The middle one. As to offend as few people as possible, the broadcast switches back to a shot of the announce position. A Competitor is Down
Mark Perletta: Up next we continue our first Pay Per View of
2007 with a HUGE battle royal that sees many new faces, returning legends,
and even... wait, what was that? Loco: Auugghh!! God DAMMIT! A medic appears and kneels next to him and immediately starts feeling Loco's lower leg for a break. Loco winces, and instinctlively flinches, backhanding the medic who in turns falls and glares at Loco holding his cheek. Loco: OOOWWWGGHHH!! Loco takes a few deep breaths through his nose to calm himself down, and then realizes what he did to the medic and looks incredibly guilty. Loco: I'm sorry, man. It just... it just, hurts! The view then switches to a shot of the ring. Opportunity Battle
Royal
Josephina Colbert: Our second match of the night is a Battle Royal, the winner getting their choice of a title shot at either the No Limits Title or the Tao of Valor Championship! The theme for PPV, "Break My Body" by The Pixies, starts playing and wrestlers start filing out from backstage, walking down the isle. Gigantus Awesomo is the first one to make it to the top of the ramp, not followed by any of his translators / interpreters. Someone backstage staggering the entrances, Chaos is next, following about ten feet behind. Mark Perletta: Gigantus Awesomo and Chaos are the first two of many to make their way down to the ring, both men are rather large individuals, so you would think that they stand a very good chance of winning this match. Landon Savage: As with other Battle Royals, all the individuals are going to start at the same time, unlike the two minute staggered entrances of a Royal Rumble. As you can see, more individuals are coming down to the ring now, with Jimmy Smith and Racin’ Pat Reynolds making their way down to the ring next. Mark Perletta: On our last edition of STRIFE, we saw Pat Reynolds come in and request an alliance of sorts with Jimmy Smith, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Joey C: Individually those guys wouldn’t last very long, but if they can work as a team, they might make a good run at winning this thing. The fifth individual out from the back is former boxing champion Jake Blaine. Following him is Jerry Starr, a new-comer to the LEGACY roster. Ten feet behind is Charles Johnson. After he is halfway down to the ring, Cronos Diamante comes out to a modest ovation from some of his fans… and some of his haters. Mark Perletta: Making his return to the ring after being away from LEGACY since Rise of the Elite is a polarizing individual in Cronos Diamante. Some people like him, some people hate him. Thus far it might be a bit early to know for sure, but seeing him come to Aaron Beaudway’s aid during our last edition of STRIFE, it seems as though he may have a different perspective on things this time around, taking a different approach. Joey C: I’ll believe it when I see it. Coming out ninth is one half of the Bushido Buntai, youngster Osamu Hayashi, who has seen a bit of a resurgence as of late, now that his girlfriend was brought over from Japan. Landon Savage: The first ten is complete with “The Beast from Kandahar” coming out, and after hearing what Mostafa Bashir is fighting for, his motivation, you have to think it’s not going to be easy to get him eliminated from the match. Joey C: Oh man, here comes MY favorite to win this Battle Royal, Isaac Entragian. After Cronos Diamante pushed him off of Aaron Beaudway, Cronos might want to do his best to avoid this silent but deadly albino. Mark Perletta: Smartly keeping a safe distance, Tony Riggs rounds out the first dozen, and if the things he said following Duncan Aries’ debut match are any indication, Riggs is going to be doing whatever he can to make an impact here. Landon Savage: He might not be a huge guy, but this kid Ron Bailey has the ability to lay into people with explosive strikes from both his arms and his legs, and that could make him very dangerous here. Joey C: What do you think about the fact that Ron Bailey is "unlucky" number thirteen? Landon Savage: I don't typically buy into that sorta thing, so I'm not going to give it another thought. You'd be wasting our time to continue talking about it. Mark Perletta: With his SNAFU superkick, “The Ladies Man”
Tim Jones is fairly explosive and dangerous himself, coming down to
the ring following Ron Bailey and Tony Riggs… and I’ve lost
count. Landon Savage: He might be a fairly good technical wrestler, but a backstage brawler Allen Franks is not. Speaking of which, though, the next two individuals on their way down to the ring are good in any fight in any situation, Syndicate members Hendrickson Tyler and Stevie Paginello are bound to be two of the favorites in this match due to the teamwork they’ll undoubtedly display. A surprised reaction rolls through a large portion of the crowd as Derek Shane makes his way out through the curtain. Unlike other competitors who have come out, Derek Shane pauses at the top of the ramp, looking out over the screaming masses all over the arena. Mark Perletta: Making his first appearance in LEGACY after a very successful run in TTW prior to the buy-out, You’d have to think that he probably has a new movie coming up. Joey C: Of course he does. Don’t you remember hearing that he’s got a part in Spider-man 3? And he’s probably got a role in something else coming up sooner than that. This way in the upcoming press interviews he’s going to be asked to do, he can talk about how he’s a “two industry” entertainer. Once Derek Shane makes his way down to the ring to join the rest of the group, the masked man known as Johnny Patriot steps out from the back. When he gets halfway down the ramp, Rocky Stellar walks through the curtain, getting a BIG reaction from the crowd. Mark Perletta: The fans have spoken, and here comes THEIR favorite to win this Battle Royal. I’d have to do a little bit of research to be sure, but I’m guessing that Stellar is the most accomplished individual in the Battle Royal, with a number of World Title reigns, not to mention the fact that he’s one half of Stellar Insanity, considered to be one of the best tag teams in the history of our business. Landon Savage: The rest of the guys in the ring should feel lucky that Loco Martinez got attacked backstage and isn’t in this match. If he were out here, that would almost assure that one of the two members of Stellar Insanity were going to win. Joey C: And that brings up an interesting point. Loco Martinez has been competing on a fairly regular basis for a while now, and Rocky Stellar has taken the past couple of months off. Do you think because of that reason that MAYBE Rocky Stellar wasn’t feeling confident about his chances of being able to eliminate his tag team partner when it came down to the final two of them, and MAYBE, just maybe, HE was the one who attacked Loco backstage. Mark Perletta: Well the fans know that Loco was attacked, and based on their response they’re giving Stellar, that thought hasn’t even crossed their minds. I personally don’t think Rocky Stellar would’ve done something like that, but I would put my money on the attacker being one of the individuals who already came down to the ring. Once Rocky Stellar gets to the bottom of the ramp, all 21 competitors are dispersed around the outside of the ring, eyeing one another, some people looking to get things started even before the match begins. Josephina Colbert stands up once again at the time keeper’s table, her live image and a clock showing “0:45” taking up the second half of the LEGACY Vision jumbotron. Josephina Colbert: In a moment, a buzzer will sound to signify the start of a 45 second countdown timer. Once that timer hits zero, any potential entrant NOT inside the ring will NOT be allowed to compete in this match! Over the top rope eliminations from this Battle Royal do not count until the second timer has sounded, signifying official start of the Battle Royal. Good luck. The image of Josephina Colbert is no longer on the LEGACY Vision after she’s done speaking, and suddenly the buzzer sounds. Suddenly there is a mad scramble as the match begins. Some of the competitors try to get into the ring, others go after people near them. Mark Perletta: Interesting to see the strategy being used by various people, whether they’re trying to get into the ring or whether they’re trying to wait and wear people down outside the ring while letting the people who are already inside the ring wear each other out a bit. Joey C: And Chaos goes right around the ring, looking for Tim Jones… but The Ladies Man sees him coming, and he’s not looking for a pre-match encounter. Mark Perletta: Around the other side of the ring, Mostafa Bashir and Jake Blaine are going toe to toe, Bashir apparently not too happy about Jake Blaine distracting him during his match weeks ago. Landon Savage: Allen Franks is the first man to get into the ring, and I don’t think he notices that Isaac Entragian also got into the ring from around the other side. Mark Perletta: He’s too busy watching to see if anyone gets into the ring anywhere around him, and his back is turned to Isaac. Coming up from behind him, Isaac Entragian NAILS Allen Franks with a clubbing blow to the back, sending him down to one knee. As Franks works to get up off the mat, Isaac grabs him and picks him up over his head, and then sends him crashing down onto his knee with a huge gutbuster! Landon Savage: That’s the move he calls THE DISEMBOWLER, and I think Allen Franks could tell you why it’s called that! Joey C: It doesn’t look like Isaac is stopping the attack just yet… Grabbing him, picking him up off the mat… and Isaac launches Allen Franks over the top rope! Mark Perletta: Things don’t look good for Franks. The people on that side of the ring at the time Franks was thrown out saw him coming and moved out of the way, and Allen Franks hit that steel guardrail pretty hard… I don’t think he’s getting back into the ring. Joey C: I think young Allen is going to need some help getting up off the ground! NO CHANCE he’s getting back into the ring. Elsewhere on the outside, Gigantus Awesomo and Stevie Paginello are trading punches back and forth. Hendrickson Tyler tries to get involved, but Cronos Diamante comes over and keeps it from becoming a two-on-one situation by shoving the big man away. Paginello is distracted for a moment as he sees his two-on-one opportunity vanish, and the opening gives Gigantus Awesomo the opportunity he needs, and Awesomo FLOORS Paginello with a viscous clothesline! As Stevie starts to work his way back up to his feet, Gigantus gets in behind him, grabs him around the neck, bending him back into a reverse DDT position. Lifting Paginello up, Awesomo takes a few steps forwards and SLAMS him down onto the steel ringsteps! Mark Perletta: THE MASKED VENGEANCE! Gigantus Awesomo slamming Paginello down with that Masked Vengeance maneuver, and Paginello seems to be in a good bit of pain! Joey C: Hendrickson Tyler looking to come to the aid of his tag team partner, but Cronos Diamante not allowing it, pulling him back into their scuffle and the two returning to trading blows. Inside the ring, Ron Bailey stands up after having just slid in underneath the bottom ropes, a huge grin on his face. As soon as he turns around, however, he gets NAILED in the face by the foot of Charles Johnson, who ran in and hit a Yakuza Kick at his first opportunity. Grabbing him by the head, Charles Johnson picks Ronald Bailey up off the mat and throws him out of the ring between the ropes, sending him out to the arena floor. Mark Perletta: Now if the Battle Royal had officially started, Ron Bailey would be able to get back into the ring, but with the clock ticking down and things about to get started here in a few seconds, if Bailey can’t get back into the ring before the counter reaches 0, he won’t be in this match. Joey C: Ron struggling and getting back up, it looks like he will be in this match after all, sliding back into the ring under… Landon Savage: Wait a damn minute, look who’s running down the isle!! As soon as they see him running out from the back and realize who it is, the fans start going crazy. With the timer almost down to zero, X-Calibur runs out from the back, not stopping until he gets to the bottom of the ramp, where he dives and slides into the ring. As soon as he gets back to his feet, the buzzer sounds. Mark Perletta: That’s it, the match can officially begin, but this is a big surprise, with X-Calibur entering the match, and you can only assume that he has signed a contract with LEGACY!! Joey C: It looks like Ron Bailey thought those cheers were for him, but he just found out the truth and got clotheslined down to the mat in a matter of about three seconds. Though, I guess he’s lucky that he didn’t get eliminated in the process! Landon Savage: He’s also lucky that X is moving on to do battle with one of the 19 other individuals in the ring. Mark Perletta: Out of the twenty two competitors who were apparently signed up to be in this match, only twenty of them were in the ring after the opening buzzer sounded. With Allen Franks not getting up after being thrown out of the ring by Isaac Entragian, and Stevie Paginello not getting up after getting slammed into the steel steps by Gigantus Awesomo, that takes us down two. To the surprise of no one, Tim Jones and Chaos are battling it out against one another, with Tim Jones more than holding his own despite obviously trying to move on to someone else. Elsewhere amidst the confusion, Duncan Aries is laying into Tony Riggs. Before he can knock him down to the mat, however, Riggs gets the upper hand by raking Duncan’s eyes, kicking him in the gut, and then slamming him down to the mat on the back of his head. Mark Perletta: That rake of the eyes perfectly legal in this match… Joey C: And even if it wasn’t legal, who’s going to catch it? The referees around the ring are only out here to spot eliminations, and that’s going to be a tough task in itself! Mark Perletta: Johnny Patriot was battling it out with Derek Shane, but Isaac Entragian runs in and just clobbers him and now has just thrown Johnny Patriot out of the ring over the top rope, getting his second elimination of the match. Landon Savage: But only his first OFFICIAL elimination. Mark Perletta: After having put Duncan Aries on the mat, Tony Riggs looks around the ring for someone else to target, and it looks as though he’s going after newcomer Jerry Starr, who just knocked Osamu Hayashi down to the mat. Landon Savage: And my boy Hendrickson Tyler is taking it to Cronos Diamante, getting some payback for what happened outside the ring prior to the match. Joey C: I had my doubts, but it looks like the alliance between Jimmy Smith and Pat Reynolds is paying off, the two of them going to work on the tough-as-nails Mostafa Bashir, trying to take the big man down. Mark Perletta: Going back to Tony Riggs for a moment, he has just eliminated Jerry Starr from this match, bringing the Battle Royal down to eighteen men. Having put Chaos on his back with the help of Ron Bailey, Tim Jones moves on and goes to work on Rocky Stellar. Back on the other side of the ring, Jimmy Smith and Pat Reynolds finally drop Mostafa Bashir down to the mat in the corner, but not out of the ring. At that point Jimmy Smith backs up, looking at his handy work. After stomping in on Mostafa once more, Pat Reynolds realizes that Jimmy is standing back and watching. Laying into Bashir again with another stomp to the chest, Reynolds steps back and motions for Jimmy to put a kick in there. He doesn’t, and Mostafa slowly starts to get up. Reynolds steps in and kicks him in the chest again, dropping him back down to the mat, but Mostafa grabs his leg. Getting no outside assistance, Pat looks up to see what’s going on with Big Jimmy, and notices him leaning on the ropes, surveying the rest of the action going on in the Battle Royal. Mark Perletta: Racin’ Reynolds doesn’t look happy that Jimmy Smith isn’t helping him out, but his foot is still behing held onto by Mostafa Bashir, and… OH! Pat Reynolds jumps off of his free foot and hits a dropkick, forcing Mostafa to let go of his leg. Landon Savage: What you SHOULD be focusing on is the battle going on in the middle of all this action between Rocky Stellar and Isaac Entragian, neither man giving up an inch. Joey C: Not to mention Osamu Hayashi working over Duncan Aries in the opposite corner. Having freed his leg, Reynolds backs up a few steps to get out of Bashir’s reach, and then he looks over at Jimmy Smith, still leaning on the ropes, and then suddenly in a rage Pat Reynolds takes a few quick steps over and CLOTHESLINES Jimmy right over the top rope, sending him out to the floor. Mark Perletta: And in a SURPRISING turn of events, Pat Reynolds eliminates the man with whom he formed an alliance, sending Big Jimmy Smith to the floor! Landon Savage: It’s not as surprising to those of us who were paying attention. Jimmy Smith wasn’t living up to his end of the deal, so why should Pat Reynolds? He was in need of some help, Jimmy was just standing back and watching. Standing near the ropes and looking out at Jimmy Smith, Pat Reynolds shakes his head in disappointment at their failed alliance. When Jimmy Smith gets to his feet, the two lock eyes as Big Jimmy is forced to walk back up the entrance ramp, going back to the locker room area. His gaze still fixed on Smith, Pat Reynolds has no clue that X-Calibur is coming up behind him. He doesn’t notice it until X grabs him by the leg and hoists him up and over the top rope, sending him to the outside. Mark Perletta: Pat Reynolds should’ve been paying more attention to the match instead of Jimmy Smith, and now he finds himself on the outside, eliminated from the Battle Royal just like the man with whom he tried to form an alliance. Landon Savage: Yeah and now Jimmy Smith is laughing at him, and that’s something that no one should have to endure. Joey C: Getting back to the action, going along with the whole notion of PROFESSIONALISM that you always preach about, Landon, as Ron Bailey is going right after Charles Johnson. Mark Perletta: No doubt making up for that Yakuza Kick to the face by Johnson before the buzzer went off a second time. Having just eliminated someone, X-Calibur looks around for someone else to go after, but before he selects his next target, X is blindsided from behind by Cronos Diamante, who knocks him down to one knee. Cronos fires in a couple more times, but X gets back to his feet and the two start going at it. Mark Perletta: Those two have a bit of a history with one another, some good, some bad. Landon Savage: And it looks like Derek Shane is crashing the party, coming right in and pulling X away from Cronos and laying into him with a barrage of right hands. Now Cronos tries to get involved again… Mark Perletta: X-Calibur fires backwards with an elbow that catches Cronos on the jaw… now he grabs Derek Shane by the head… X-TERMINATOR!!! After hitting the falling front layout neck breaker, X-Calibur grabs Derek Shane, pulls him up off the mat ant dumps him up over the top rope to the outside. Cronos tries to get into it again with X-Calibur, but Chaos shows up and gets to Cronos first. Elsewhere in the ring, Osamu Hayashi nails Ron Bailey with a spinning lotus kick that drops him to the mat. Suddenly two men jump the steel guardrail outside the ring, and one of them slides into the ring just next to where Osamu Hayashi is standing. Joey C: That’s CJ Nelson of Long Island Hardcore! And on the outside of the ring, that’s the other half of the team, Jared Walsh! What are they… Mark Perletta: Jared Walsh jumps up and grabs the top rope, pulling it down at the very same time that CJ Nelson dives in and clotheslines Osamu Hayashi backwards, sending him over the top rope! With Osamu Hayashi down on the ground on the outside, both members
of the Long Island Hardcore lay into him with kicks and stomps. Suddenly,
unable to stand back and let it happen anymore, Katsuro Yoshida runs
out from backstage, the fans pop as the Bushido Buntai member comes
out to help his partner. As Nelson and Walsh spot Yoshida, each of them
stomps down onto Osmau Hayashi one last time and then they both hop
back over the steel guardrail, back into the crowd. Mark Perletta: Back in the ring Duncan Aries and Tony Riggs are at it once again, this time Tony Riggs is on the offensive, doing everything he can to eliminate Aries, but Duncan is holding on. Joey C: That brawl isn’t anything compared to what’s going on between Mostafa Bashir and Charles Johnson, or between Rocky Stellar and Gigantus Awesomo. Mark Perletta: Awesomo’s putting up a much better fight than I expected him to, but he’s going at it with Rocky Stellar now, and that’s a tough task for anybody. Landon Savage: Things heating up between Bashir and Charles Johnson, Mostafa gets the upper hand… Charles Johnson blocks a punch, goes for a haymaker…. Mostafa ducks…. And he DUMPS Charles Johnson backwards over the top rope to the outside!! Mark Perletta: Now we’re down to thirteen men left in this match… and it looks like we might be down to twelve here in a minute! In one of the corners, Tony Riggs has Duncan Aries nearly over the top rope, and as he continues to lay into him with hard left hands, he slowly forces Aries’ second leg over the top rope, putting Duncan out onto the apron. Riggs goes for a clubbing blow, but Aries blocks it, grabs Riggs by the head, lifts him up into the air and takes him up over the top rope with a suplex. Aries drops down to the apron as he finishes the suplex, but having one of his legs hooked onto the bottom rope, keeping him from falling to the outside. After Tony Riggs hits the ground on the outside, Duncan Aries slides into the ring under the bottom rope. Landon Savage: Crafty little move there by Duncan Aries to stay in the match AND eliminate Tony Riggs in the process. Mark Perletta: That it was, and now Mostafa Bashir is going to work on Ron Bailey, driving him down to his knees with clubbing blows to the chest and shoulders. Joey C: Bashir brings Bailey up to his feet, and it looks like he’s going to try to set Bailey up for the elimination. Mostafa goes for the clothesline… AND Ron Bailey sidestep pivots out of the way… he pivots back in the other direction and spins through with a roundhouse kick to the head… WHAM!! Mark Perletta: Mostafa Bashir is eliminated!! What a kick from Ron Bailey!! Landon Savage: And now we’re down to half of the field still left in the ring. Bailey gets a grin on his face, knowing he dodged a bullet with that one, and lets out a sigh of relief. As he walks towards another part of the ring, he gets taken off of his feet with a huge clothesline by Isaac Entragian. Elsewhere in the ring Jake Blaine is laying into Tim Jones with hard rights and lefts, the third of which takes The Ladies Man off of his feet and down to the mat. Nearby Rocky Stellar spots Duncan Aries staggering along the inside of the apron, recovering from the attack he sustained at the hands of Tony Riggs. Moving in, Stellar rocks Aries backwards with a right hand. He then grabs Aries by the hand, turns and sends Duncan into the near corner with an irish whip, sending him in so hard that Aries hits the turnbuckle and his momentum takes him over the top rope, down to the outside. Geneva Mark Perletta: And The Stellar One gets an elimination, sending Duncan Aries to the outside! Joey C: Check out Cronos Diamante. He just dropped Chaos down to the mat, and now he’s going after another big man in Hendrickson Tyler. Landon Savage: Not the smartest move in the world, but let’s see how Cronos does… Hendrickson sees Cronos coming in to get him and so he turns and goes for a big boot to the face, but Cronos sidesteps it and takes Tyler down to the mat with a dragon-screw legwhip. From there Cronos twists it over into an anklelock. Not wanting to be caught in the move any longer than he has to be, Hendrickson grabs onto the ropes and makes his way back up off the mat, getting his free leg underneath him. Once there, Hendrickson spins his leg around now, allowing him to face Diamante. Spotting an opportunity, Cronos steps in, puts his hand on Hendrickson’s chest, lifts him up a bit and shoves him over the top rope, sending him out and down to the floor. Mark Perletta: Cronos Diamante eliminates Hendrickson Tyler from the match, and the Syndicate member does NOT seem happy about it. Landon Savage: And nor should he! Hendrickson Tyler could’ve won this match had it not been for Cronos Diamante. Cronos had better watch his back, because he’s pissing off a lot of big guys, and one of these days it’s going to catch up with him. Joey C: And here he goes again, getting involved in someone else’s business… Cronos trying to get in between Chaos and X-Calibur… Mark Perletta: Cronos shoves Chaos out of the way, and nails him with a hard kick, backing him into the corner. How’s he going to follow it up? Landon Savage: Apparently he’s not going after Chaos at all, as he turns now to look for X-Calibur… Joey C: X-TERMINATOR! Damn that was fast!!! Mark Perletta: For those of you out there who are unfamiliar with X-Calibur, THAT is what makes him so dangerous. One second Cronos Diamante was looking to mix it up with X-Calibur, and in a flash, X grabbed him by the neck and DROPPED him to the mat with that falling neckbreaker of his. Landon Savage: And I recognize that smirk on X’s face from back when I used to work with him years ago. He knows that Cronos wasn’t expecting that, and he knows that he has perfected that snapping neck breaker just about as well as anyone ever has. That smirk is a sign of his confidence in himself. Mark Perletta: Well as X-Calibur walks off a little ways let’s catch up with something going on across the ring. Jake Blaine and the masked man Gigantus Awesomo have been going through an exchange, and it looks like Awesomo has gained the upper hand. Joey C: Awesomo has Blaine doubled over and is just nailing him over and over with those clubbing blows to the back. Landon Savage: Awesomo setting Blaine up… hoisting him onto his shoulders into a Torture Rack position… Gigantus pulls inwards, straining Blaine’s back… Mark Perletta: And Gigantus DUMPS Jake Blaine over the top rope and down to the outside, scoring the elimination! Chaos gets up out of the corner and walks over to where Cronos Diamante is working to try to get up off the mat. After putting a boot to Cronos’ chest to knock him back down to the mat, Chaos drops down to his knees, puts his hands around Cronos’ throat and immediately starts choking the life out of him. Cronos tries to fight it off, but Chaos starts pulling him to his feet. Once at a vertical base, Chaos pushes Cronos backwards into the ropes, still choking him with both arms. Joey C: Cronos better think of something quick unless he wants to pass out and be tossed over the top rope. Mark Perletta: He’s nearly there… There it is! Knee to the groin by Cronos, and this may be the spot he’s looking for as Chaos lets go of the chokehold! With Chaos doubled over, Cronos looks around and then backs up and runs into the ropes. On the return, just before Cronos gets to his opponent, Chaos takes a step forward, drops to his knee and sends a forearm shot to Cronos’ gut that doubles Diamante over. Chaos works his way to his feet, grabs Cronos into a gutwrench position, then picks him up, steps to the side and DUMPS him over the top rope down to the outside. Mark Perletta: As Chaos eliminates Cronos Diamante we’re now down to seven competitors left in this match! Landon Savage: So, what do we have going on in the ring right now? Tim Jones is taking it to Gigantus Awesomo, as he jumped right in there after Awesomo eliminated Jake Blaine. X-Calibur is laying some punishment into Ron Bailey, and everybody’s big pick to win this thing – Rocky Stellar – is getting pounded on by Isaac Entragian! Joey C: And the one thing that I don’t think anyone in the ring realizes right now is that the monster, Chaos, is roaming free after having eliminated Cronos, just resting up to wait for his next victim. Mark Perletta: Things heating up between X-Calibur and Ron Bailey, as now Ron has the advantage, grabbing X into a standing armbar… roundhouse hook kick attempt by Bailey… X-CALIBUR DUCKS UNDER THE ATTEMPT!! BACK BODY DROP BY X-CALIBUR!! RON BAILEY IS ELIMINATED!! Mark Perletta: What a quick series of events that was, leading to Ron Bailey’s elimination, and he doesn’t look too happy about having to leave… As he is escorted by LEGACY officials over to the ramp, Ron Bailey eyes X-Calibur, obviously a bit frustrated by being eliminated so abruptly like that. As soon as X-Calibur turns around to go after someone else, however, Tim Jones steps in and NAILS X-Calibur in the jaw with the SNAFU superkick, sending X backwards over the ropes! Joey C: Talk about a quick series of events, first X-Cal is about to get kicked in the mouth by Ron Bailey, then he’s celebrating the fact that he eliminated Ron Bailey, and now he’s out on the floor himself after being kicked in the jaw by somebody else!! Landon Savage: Always gotta be on your toes in these Battle Royals, Joe. Tahoma Mark Perletta: Tim Jones saw the opportunity, with X-Calibur standing near the ropes, so after a thumb to the eye of Gigantus Awesomo, he opened himself up for the opportunity, and boy was that a beautiful kick. Landon Savage: You want to know what’s NOT beautiful? The fact that Rocky Stellar now has Isaac Entragian backed into the corner, and Stellar is in control. C’mon, Isaac… Gigantus Awesomo starts to walk out of the corner, but as he makes his way towards Tim Jones, Awesomo is intercepted by Chaos, who comes in and rocks Awesomo backwards, knocking him back into the corner. After a couple of hard right hands from Chaos, Awesomo slinks down into the corner. At that point, Chaos turns around and looks across the ring at Tim Jones, who looks over and locks eyes with him at the very same moment. Chaos runs in and goes for a Yakuza Kick on Tim Jones, but The Ladies Man ducks underneath it. As soon as Chaos turns around, Tim Jones steps in… SNAFU!! CHAOS GOES BACKWARDS OVER THE ROPE, ELIMINATED!!! Mark Perletta: Ladies and gentlemen, we’re now down to our final four competitors in the ring. Landon Savage: Rocky Stellar, who just got done hammering in on Isaac, just realized that fact as well. Joey C: I don’t know that I would say he was hammering in on Isaac. He’s getting a little winded in there, as is everyone, and his punches weren’t exactly coming in at a rapid pace. Mark Perletta: Oh my, Stellar might wish he hadn’t stopped going after Isaac, because Entragian is now getting up off the mat… Not wanting Isaac to find his way back in the mat, Stellar turns his attention towards him once again as he notices Isaac getting up off the mat out of the corner of his eye. As soon as he’s on his feet, Isaac takes a few quick steps in Rocky’s direction, going for a clothesline. Stellar ducks under the attempt, spins around and kicks Isaac in the back of his knee, taking him down to just one leg. Stellar takes advantage of the opportunity, grabs Isaac around the head from behind, lifts him up to his feet into a reverse ddt position and then suddenly DROPS straight down to the mat, snapping down as he does so. Mark Perletta: STELLAR DROP!! ISAAC’s OUT COLD!!! Landon Savage: He's still in the match, though! Joey C: And Stellar looks like he’s got a new-found sense of purpose in this match, and he’s going straight after Gigantus Awesomo, wanting to build on his momentum, and the crowd is loving it! As Stellar makes his way over to Gigantus Awesomo, Tim Jones runs in and hammers Stellar in the back with a double axhandle, dropping Rocky down to one knee. The Ladies Man grabs Stellar by the head and goes to pick him back up to his feet, but Stellar quickly steps up and hits an inverted atomic drop, leaving Tim Jones momentarily stunned. Not wasting a second of time, Stellar grabs Tim Jones, lifts him up into the air into a vertical suplex… Mark Perletta: STELLAR-PLEX!! TIM JONES IS OUT COLD, TOO!! Landon Savage: And again, not eliminated, just knocked down! What the heck is Gigantus Awesomo doing, why doesn’t he do something about this? Joey C: After the encounter between those two, why would Gigantus Awesomo want to help out Tim Jones? And besides, Awesomo is a big man, he’s looking a little tired at this point in the match… Rocky Stellar lifts Tim Jones right up off the mat, grabs him by the back of the head, heads for the side of the ring… THEN MAKES A DETOUR AND SMASHES TIM JONES’ HEAD INTO THE HEAD OF GIGANTUS AWESOMO! Not letting go, Stellar then slams Tim Jones’ forehead into Awesomo’s crotch, doubling Awesomo over, and then Stellar tosses Tim Jones out of the ring over the top rope! Mark Perletta: I can’t believe it! Only the Stellar One uses an opponent’s head as a weapon against another opponent, but Stellar did it to perfection, and now he’s the only one standing in the ring! Joey C: And all of these idiots in the crowd here in Richmond couldn’t be more pleased! Suddenly there’s a different reaction that rolls through the arena as someone jumps the guardrail and hops up onto the apron. Stellar doesn’t notice the man until he hops up onto the top rope into a springboard position… Mark Perletta: That’s Eli Storm! What the heck is he doing here?! As soon as Stellar turns to see who just got up onto the apron, Eli leaps off of the springboard position and grabs Stellar by the head, his feet landing on the top rope of the side of the ring next to Stellar. Eli hops backwards, pulling Stellar with him over the top rope, DRIVING Stellar’s head down onto the apron as Storm falls the the ground below. Knocked out cold, Rocky Stellar falls down to the arena floor, eliminated. Mark Perletta: I think the reaction these fans are giving right now says it all… THAT was a travesty of justice. Landon Savage: You know what? No. What happened right here, that was BEAUTIFUL! Rocky Stellar and these fans thought that Stellar was going to just show up in LEGACY and just waltz right on through the competition and just get himself a title shot right away… but that didn’t quite happen, did it? Mark Perletta: No, but… Landon Savage: Let’s not forget about one very important thing, here. If Loco Martinez had been out here, he might’ve done something significant to keep this from happening, keeping Stellar from being eliminated. Mark Perletta: That’s highly possible, and this makes me think that there’s a good possibility that Eli Storm is the one who attacked Loco backstage! Joey C: You guys are BOTH missing the point here. Yeah, Stellar got eliminated, so what?! The BIG news is that ELI STORM is in LEGACY!! A former WORLD Champion. A former TAG TEAM Champion. You guys drooled all over yourselves when X-Calibur came down to the ring, but to me, ELI STORM is a MUCH bigger deal! Mark Perletta: I do have to say, the additions of both Eli Storm AND X-Calibur to the roster is big news for the future of LEGACY. But the big news for the “here and now” is that Gigantus Awesomo and Isaac Entragian are the final two in this Battle Royal, and one of these two will have a guaranteed shot at either the No Limit Title or the Tao of Valor Championship. Landon Savage: Yeah but right now, both of them are trying to get back to their feet. It could come down to whichever one of these two gets up first! Joey C: It’s looking like both men are getting back up to their feet, so this could be good. They’re both big men, though, no clear favorite… Isaac’s definitely a bit taller, Gigantus is thicker and has a lower center of gravity… Both men back on their feet, Entragian moves in for the attack. Gigantus Awesomo blocks a right hand from Isaac and fires back in with one of his own. After a second one, Awesomo reaches down and grabs Isaac, lifting him off his feet into a bodyslam position. Moving over towards the side of the ring, Awesomo leans Entragian over the top rope, trying to send him out of the ring. Isaac struggles to hold on to the top rope, but Awesomo keeps trying to shove him over the top rope. As Isaac gets further and further out of the ring, Isaac reaches and grabs a hold of the middle rope. Mark Perletta: Entragian holding on, trying to stay in this match, but Gigantus Awesomo is shoving as hard as he can. Landon Savage: And now Isaac is doing what he has to do to win this match, he’s moving from the defensive to the offensive, kicking at Awesomo with his legs despite being upside down hanging from the middle ring rope, and amazingly it’s working for him! Joey C: Gigantus Awesomo taking repeated shots to his head, and now he’s letting go of Isaac’s legs! Freed from Gigantus’ grasp, Isaac Entragian lets himself down onto the apron, rolling back into the ring underneath the bottom rope. Getting back into the ring, Isaac tries to get to his feet, but Gigantus steps in and nails him with a clubbing blow. Undeterred, Isaac forces himself up to his feet despite getting hit with another clubbing blow. When Awesomo goes for another shot, Isaac Entragian blocks it, grabs Awesomo by the neck, picks him up and throws him into the corner. Isaac follows it in with a hard forearm shot to the head. Joey C: The shoe is on the other foot now, as Isaac is in control, and now he’s choking Awesomo out with his out-stretched boot. Mark Perletta: Gigantus trying to fight back, he reaches up and sends a clubbing blow into the side of Isaac’s leg. Then another. Then another! Isaac takes his leg back, freeing Awesomo. With a little bit of distance between the two individuals, Gigantus Awesomo dives in and takes Isaac down to the mat with a tackle around the legs. With Entragian on his back, Awesomo starts flailing in with hard rights and lefts, but Isaac covers up, and not many of those shots are landing their mark. Landon Savage: Awesomo gets rolled off of Isaac, and now the monster is working to get back to his feet, and Gigantus is already up. Here we go… Gigantus moves in and goes for a hard right hand, but Isaac blocks it and fires back. As Isaac’s fists hit Awesomo, he gets backed up into the ropes. Isaac keeps firing in, and Awesomo is able to block a punch, and he then steps in and grabs in with his other elbow and goes for a hiptoss, trying to send Isaac out of the ring. As he gets Entragian up onto the ropes, Gigantus is grabbed by Isaac, despite sending him out onto the apron. Gigantus tries to shove Isaac off the apron, but Isaac nails him with a clubbing blow, and then Entragian grabs Awesomo by the neck with both arms, lifts him over the top rope, and then Isaac drops down to the apron, pulling Gigantus with him, sending Awesomo down to the arena floor while maintaining his balance on the apron. After the referees have called for the bell, Isaac Entragian drops down to the floor. Josephina Colbert: The winner of the Opportunity Battle Royal... ISAAC... ENTRAGIAN!!! Mark Perletta: And so Isaac Entragian has won the Opportunity Battle Royal, now he gets to move on and take a shot at either the No Limits Championship or the Tao of Valor Championship. Joey C: I've gotta tell you, Marky, if I were Diego de Cardenas or DJ Cassidy or Dan Stein, I would NOT be happy that this is the guy who won this match. He's a big, scary guy who is capable of doing a LOT of damage. Landon Savage: He's not unbeatable, though. He can inflict all the damage he wants, but getting the pinfall is what it's going to take for Isaac to bring home the gold, so we'll see how he does in his first title shot, whenever that may be. Truth Revealed
Backstage following John Thomas prior to his match with Crash. He bounces, loosening up, grabbing a bottle of water, and taking a swig. The crowd in the arena boos. He flashes a smirk, and shrugs it off, but comes to an abrupt halt, a surprised look on his face. We turn following his eyes and see an equally surprised, Loco Martinez. Loco, looking completely fine, despite his early attack gets a panicked look in his eyes as the arena reigns more boos down, starting mildly and growing steadily. The two friends stand there, awkwardly. John gives Loco the "once over". John Thomas: Looks like you're feeling fine, Loc. Loco smiles nervously. Loco: Uh, yeah. Must've just gotten a charley horse from the chair shot.... uhh.... guess I'm pretty luck, huh? John smirks, not believing Loco for a second. He lets out a chuckle. John Thomas: Sorry man. Hate to be the inadvertent tattle tale, *gestures to the camera*, but "Dad's" gonna have a fit when he sees this. Loco rolls his eyes. Loco: Yeah... well... I'm not exactly worried about what old poppa Belote thinks. The way I see it? He got my dramatic "exit" from the battle royal. So he can't complain. John grins and nods his head. John Thomas: Fairly valid point there. Instead of going for a title shot, you went for some controversy, and that... that's where the real ratings are. That's what people tune in for. Of course, they would've tuned in to see Loco Martinez in a title match, but either option works. Loco nods and smirks. Loco: Yeah, but in this case I keep my health. Loco winks and then John chuckles and pats Loco on the shoulder. John Thomas: And don't worry, I'm not going to go running to anybody and tell them that you're actually doing alright. The way I see it, word won’t get to Rob or anybody else until tomorrow afternoon or so, so you don’t have to worry about taking your phone off the hook or anything. John points to Loco, then back to himself as he speaks. John Thomas: You and me... we're cool, and I'd like to keep it that way. Besides, I "get" what you're going through. But hey, I've got my match, so I gotta run, but if you can get to your hotel in the next five minutes, you could probably turn on the TV in time to see me beat that old guy who's about to be waiting for me in the ring. Loco: Yeah man, I'll try that. Good luck, go out there and stir up some controversy of your own. Loco gives John a slap on the shoulder, walking past. As Loco walks down the hall, John lets out another chuckle, realizing something. John Thomas: Hey Loc’ Loco turns and walks backwards, seeing what John wants. John: Don’t forget to limp a little bit… just in case someone else sees ya! Loco nods, then turns around and starts limping” off towards the door and John turns around and heads towards the gorilla position. Loco reaches the exit and we cut to our announcers, who are shocked at what they just witnessed. Mark Perletta: I can't believe how low Loco Martinez has gone here tonight. Joey C: Low? The man didn't want to work, got out of the match, and everyone's going to be talking about him. SOME might call that brilliant! Mark Perletta: Well not these fans. Not the people that wanted to see him wrestle. Not his opponents that wanted to actually get in the ring with Loco Martinez.. and damn sure not Rocky Stellar who was already being painted as a potential attacker by me, and down right accused and convicted by YOU! Joey C: These people are just mad because Rocky Stellar would’ve had a better chance of winning if Loco were there to guard his back. They don't care about Loco Martinez! Mark Perletta: I don't know about that. I think a lot of people are fans of Loco Martinez and would've liked to see him compete here tonight for a chance to get a singles title shot of his own. Landon Savage: And there are a lot of people who had money riding on the fact that Loco Martinez was going to go through another pay per view unsuccessful! Crash vs John Thomas
Josephina Colbert: Our next match is set for one fall and there will be NO COUNT OUTS!!! Introducing first… Over the speakers “Here Comes the Pain” by Slayer starts up over the speakers as the house lights fade under a bit. Josephina Colbert: Standing at 6 foot 3 and weighing 266 pounds… here is… CRASH!!! The fans give Crash a good reception as he comes out from the back. As part of his no-nonsense attitude, Crash makes his way down to the ring, ignoring most of the fans, trying to remain focused on the job at hand. Once he gets to the bottom of the ramp, Crash walks around the entire ring, keeping his focus on the squared circle. When he gets back to the bottom of the ramp, he grabs the middle rope and uses it to hop up onto the apron, and then he ducks into the ring underneath the top rope. Mark Perletta: It’s interesting to watch guys like Crash when they come out to the ring. You can just tell the respect he has for this business, for that ring. Watching him look upon the squared circle with the look in his eyes as if he’s about to enter hallowed ground… it just makes me feel good. Landon Savage: I tell you what, it’s nice to see Crash wearing his old shirt from his days back in the SWA. I wonder if Rob Belote is going to start producing them for sale again here through LEGACY Merch. Joey C: I’d think he might, but only if Crash is able to shake his ring-rust as he comes back to active competition, this being only his second match back. Mark Perletta: I think one way or another, this next chapter in Crash’s career is going to be a good one, and it gets started out on a hot opening note as he tries to get some revenge while teaching John Thomas a lesson. With Crash stretching his shoulders and neck in the ring, his theme music fades under and then the rumbling bass-line from Filter’s “Hey Man Nice Shot” starts to play and the lights dim a bit more. Josephina Colbert: And his opponent… weighing in at around 215 pounds… he is “THE DURABLE ONE”… JOHN… THOMAS!!! Blue lights shine upwards through the entrance ramp and also down from the rafters down onto the entrance stage and ring. As John Thomas walks out from the back, he gets a mixed reaction from the fans, with most of his cheers coming from the ladies in attendance. Standing atop the stage for only a moment, John then walks down the isle, looking at some of the fans he passes by, though not acknowledging any of them individually. Landon Savage: For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been wondering just how confident John was going to look coming into this match, but he doesn’t look worried in the slightest now that the match is here. Joey C: It’s not like this is John’s first big match or anything. Crash might be a veteran, but he’s a veteran who hasn’t participated in a match at a pay per view in years, and so I’d say John gets the advantage there. Mark Perletta: Crash is a different breed of competitor though. He’s the kind of guy who, as long as he’s capable of getting into the ring, you’d want to bet on him to win the match. There’s no way he gets dominated in this match or any other, but the question remains as to how ready he’s going to be to face John Thomas. Once he walks up the ring apron, John ducks into the ring under the top rope and then stands in his corner, his hooded robe still hiding his face and head as he stretches out his neck. After a moment just standing still and staring at Crash, John takes off his hooded robe and tosses it over the top rope, giving it to the time keeper. Mark Perletta: It looks like John Thomas is about ready to get things started, and now all we need is the opening ring bell. Joey C: I hope Crash knows what he’s got himself into, because I enjoy watching John Thomas matches, and I don’t want this one to be a two minute, one-sided ordeal. Landon Savage: Well there’s the bell, we’re about to find out. As the match gets started, both men circle the inside of the ring and Crash moves in towards John and tries to lock up, but John ducks out of the way and backs up a step. Crash follows John as he walks away from him, but when he steps in to lock up again, John sidesteps, and then this time he steps forward and hits Crash with a roundhouse kick to the ribs. When Crash turns around to get John, though, Thomas has ducked and moved halfway across the ring. Landon Savage: John going with the stick-and-move strategy, a good idea to work a little frustration in to Crash, throw him off his game a little bit. Mark Perletta: Crash thus far keeping his calm… Crash stalks in and goes to lock up again, but again John tries to get away. This time, he’s unsuccessful. Having taken not only a step forward, Crash also took a step to the side, landing himself right next to where John moved when he tried to avoid him. Crash throws a back elbow smash that catches John in the side of the head. From there Crash grabs John by the head, takes him to the corner and throws his head into the turnbuckle. Then a second time. Then a THIRD time. Mark Perletta: I’d be willing to bet John wakes up with a bit of a headache tomorrow after that, Crash just SLAMMING his head into that turnbuckle. Joey C: There’s not enough padding in the word to put on those steel bolts to keep that sort of thing from hurting like a bitch! With John doubled over, holding his head, Crash lays into John with clubbing blows to the back, dropping him down to his knees. John tries to get up, but Crash kicks him a couple of times, putting him back onto the mat. After having a few stomps laid into his back, John rolls out of the ring underneath the bottom rope. Mark Perletta: John Thomas getting out of the ring, giving himself a bit of a breather, and I never thought I’d say this, but John is trying to slow the pace down against Crash. Waiting for an opportunity, John Thomas circles around the ring a bit. Crash remains on the inside, wanting to be at the right spot when John comes back into the ring. Ready to get things started again, John moves over and hops up onto the apron. Crash walks up to the ropes, ready to grab his opponent, but John ducks under the top rope and nails Crash with a shoulder block to the gut. Then another. The moves provide an opening, and John moves down the apron and then puts his hands on the top rope and hops on over, getting into the ring. Landon Savage: Good move there by John Thomas to create an opening for himself to get back into the ring and start back on the offensive all in one swoop. Mark Perletta: He may have put a few shots in on Crash, but he doesn’t have the offensive back just yet. Hoping to continue his attack, Crash moves in and goes for a right hand, but John ducks underneath it, nailing his opponent with a forearm of his own, right into Crash’s ribs. Wasting no time, John grabs Crash by the wrist and twists around into a hammerlock. He wrenches it in, Crash fighting back as hard as he can. After nearly getting hit by a back elbow smash, John decides to change up his strategy and he spins around and takes Crash down to the mat with a standing drop toe hold. Mark Perletta: Despite John taking Crash down, he still maintains a hold onto the hammerlock Landon Savage: Yeah, only now he’s got the hold AND position… and now he’s driving knees down into the shoulder of Crash, doing extra damage. Letting go of the hammerlock, John slides up and locks Crash into a side headlock. Slowly Crash works his knees underneath him, getting up to his feet. After nailing John in the ribs a couple of times, John lets go of his side headlock. Crash wraps his arms around John’s waist and then goes for a German suplex. Thomas fires backwards with a back elbow smash, giving him an opening from the grasp of his opponent. This allows John to step away, and as he does Crash tries to grab him by the shoulder and neck area. Not wanting to get caught up again, JT fires backwards with a kick, finding his mark as he hits it like a low blow, which doubles Crash over. Mark Perletta: Crafty move there by John, and I don’t think the referee saw that kick. Joey C: There’s a possibility that he would’ve thought it was an unintentional low blow anyway and wouldn’t have called it. Landon Savage: Either way, he got away with it. John Thomas grabs Crash by the head and runs over to the corner where he throws Crash through the ropes, just over the middle turnbuckle, smashing Crash’s shoulder into the steel ringpost. Not letting his opponent out of the corner, John grabs Crash by the wrist of his injured shoulder’s arm and wrenches back into a hammerlock. Kicking Crash in the back of the knee, John drops his opponent down to a kneeling position, a cocky smirk on his face. Mark Perletta: And now an arrogant little smirk on the face of John Thomas, knowing he’s in control. Landon Savage: Is that a look of arrogance or is it confidence? I’d say confidence, Perletta. He’s got Crash right where he wants him. Mark Perletta: John might be in a good position, but Crash is fighting back, wanting to win this match so badly, and now he’s working his way out of the corner and back up to his feet. Sensing that his chances to continue his offense might be decreasing, John backs up a few steps into the center of the ring, then lets go of Crash’s wrist, turns and runs into the ropes. On the return John steps in as Crash turns around and John goes for a high flipping dropkick… but Crash sidesteps it, grabs John in mid-air… and SLAMS him down onto his knee! Mark Perletta: Crash with a huge counter move and the crowd is absolutely loving it! Crash has been working the defensive very well for the majority of this match, and I think they’re ready to see him take over on the offensive for a bit. Joey C: Well John rolls away in a bit of pain, now with a sore back, but he’s still trying to stay on the offensive, not willing to go on the defensive just yet… John moves in and goes to nail Crash with a hard right hand, but Crash blocks it and nails him with a hard right hand of his own. Crash goes for a second hard right hand, Thomas blocks it, then swings around, hooks his elbows with his opponent’s, and goes for the backslide. Before John can get his opponent to slide down his back, Crash battles back . After slamming his head backwards and connecting with the back of John’s head, Crash gets his feet on the mat, then leans forward and turns it into a backslide of his own. Dropping down to his knees and getting John to slide down HIS back, putting Thomas’ shoulders on the mat, the referee sliding into position to make the count… ONE! TWO!! JOHN ESCAPES!! Mark Perletta: Near fall, and I think John Thomas almost didn’t know his shoulders were down, with that exchange happening so fast! Both men work their way up to their feet, but the younger man Thomas is the first man up. John grabs Crash by the wrist and goes for an irish whip, but Crash reverses it and sends Thomas hard into the corner. Crash follows in, but John raises both of his feet up into the air, hoping to catch Crash on the jaw. Spotting it in time, Crash does a baseball slide and ends up going underneath the bottom rope, right under John’s attempt. When John puts his feet back down onto the mat, Crash grabs John by the ankles and pulls him backwards, crotching him on the steel ring post. Mark Perletta: Crash not wasting any time as he gets back into the ring. Grabbing John up off the mat, Crash lifts him up onto the top rope. Joey C: It looks like Crash is about to go for a suplex… Landon Savage: And JT blocks it, hitting a sunset flip powerbomb from top rope down into ring, sending Crash down onto his back! Getting back up, John grabs Crash by the wrist, twisting around into a standing armbar, yanking down hard before twisting into another hammerlock. Twisting around, John grabs Crash by the head, setting up into a potential DDT position. Before he can do anything, however, Crash grabs John by the waistband of his pants, then whips him up and over his head one-handed into a Northern Lights Suplex, bridging into a pinfall attempt… ONE! TWO!! JOHN SHOULDERS OUT!! Mark Perletta: Another quick pinfall attempt that John probably didn’t see coming… I guess this wily veteran is showing the young gun a thing or two. As soon as he can, John gets back up to his feet and then nails Crash with a kick to the lower back as he tries to get up. Then John takes Crash by the wrist, picks him up to his feet and then sends him immediately into the ropes with a whip. On the return Crash jumps right over John, who dropped down to the mat instead of going for a move, hopping right back up as Crash hits the opposite ropes. By the time Crash gets back to where John is, Thomas tries to leapfrog his opponent to let Crash go by him once more, but Crash puts on the brakes, stopping himself, and when John drops back down, Crash steps in, grabs him around the waist, lifting him up into a bearhug. Mark Perletta: Look at the power from Crash… Joey C: Well if Crash has any advantages over John Thomas coming into this match, physical strength is definitely it, though pound for pound, I’d say John is probably the stronger of the two. Mark Perletta: I don’t know about that, but what I do know is that Thomas looks to be in pain as he’s held up into that bearhug. Landon Savage: John Thomas trying whatever he can, but Crash is definitely not letting go. Mark Perletta: John tries nailing him with forearm shots, but they almost seem to have no effect, as Crash just continues to apply pressure to that lower back and those ribs. Joey C: John trying another forearm… and Crash headbutts him, stopping John’s efforts momentarily! Landon Savage: He’s going to have to try to do something a little more than that… here’s John with a rake to his eyes… Mark Perletta: But Crash continues to hold on to the bearhug despite John’s efforts!! Crash backing up… he SLAMS the lower back of John Thomas right into the top turnbuckle! Landon Savage: Damn that’s gotta hurt! Thomas not giving up though, reaching back… John claps his hands around Crash’s ears, and the ringing in his head causes Crash to loosen his grip! Reaching backwards, John grabs onto the top rope and pulls Crash into the corner, allowing John to sit up onto the top turnbuckle. Clapping Crash’s ears again, John gets his opponent to let go of his grasp on him. Getting an idea of what to do next, John puts his legs up onto Crash’s shoulders and starts hammering in onto Crash’s forehead. Crash spins around, facing towards the middle of the ring. Before Crash can do anything to him, John flings himself backwards, going for a frankensteiner. When John is nearly completely vertical, Crash reaches down, puts his arms below John’s back, then hoists John up momentarily… then SLAMS him down to the mat in the middle of the ring with a powerbomb! * * * * * * * Flash Forward - Later in the Match * * * * * * * Crash hammers into John, sending him reeling back into the corner. When Crash takes John’s wrist and tries to go for an irish whip, John grabs a hold of Crash’s wrist with both arms and jumps away from Crash, using the momentum to carry him further, yanking Crash along with him. As John drops to the mat, he lets go of Crash’s arm, and immediately Crash starts holding the shoulder of the arm John was holding onto. Sensing the opportunity, John grabs the injured arm, sets Crash up into a standing armbar, then yanks down as hard as he can. Twisting around again, John moves in behind Crash, still holding the arm, and then he jumps up into the air and nails a high flipping dropkick right into the shoulder. Mark Perletta: What a display of athleticism from John Thomas, getting WAY up there with that jump and hitting a picture perfect dropkick. Landon Savage: He’s setting Crash up, weakening that shoulder… Going right back after the shoulder, John grabs Crash’s wrist again and pulls him up to his feet from his knees and then twists around into a standing armbar. Wrenching back, John puts Crash’s arm into a hammerlock, then switches the arm he’s holding on with. From there, John twists around, grabs Crash by the head, and still holding on to the hammerlock, John starts to go for the DDT but instead drives the shoulder down into his knee. Landon Savage: Innovative maneuver there by John Thomas, a modified hammerlock ddt into a shoulder-breaker! Mark Perletta: Doing further damage to that shoulder, and from the look in his eye, I think I know what’s coming up next… Taking Crash by the wrist, John pulls him back up to his feet and then twists around into a standing armbar, then yanks down as hard as he can on Crash’s arm. John slowly makes his way over to the corner and then starts to ascend up the turnbuckles, making his way to the top rope. Mark Perletta: These fans know what’s coming next, you can hear their anticipation. Landon Savage: Damn right, they do, but I’m betting that they’re not going to all yell “NEW SCHOOL” this time around. Once he gets to the top rope, John starts walking down the top rope, but just before the point where he’d usually stop to hit his signature move, Crash pulls his arm in a bit, pulling John slightly in towards him. Having control over John’s momentum and balance, Crash then puts his hand on John’s chest and shoves him backwards, throwing him off the top rope. As John crashes down to the ground, his back hitting the steel guardrail, the crowd pops, cheers erupting from various parts of the arena. Joey C: I think it’s safe to say that didn’t go exactly as John was expecting it to. Mark Perletta: No, I’m sure he was hoping to be the one inflicting the damage, but instead now he’s the one laid out on the arena floor, just having fallen about twelve feet down into a steel barricade. Landon Savage: Looks like his back luck isn’t over just yet… Heading through the ropes, Crash steps down off the apron, getting down to the arena floor. He grabs John by the head and picks him up to his feet, then he slowly rolls John into the ring. Sensing that he has a bit of extra time due to the physical condition his opponent is in, Crash walks over and makes his way up the steel steps, then gets back into the ring. Landon Savage: Crash wasting a bit too much time for my liking. He should just get right back into the ring and follow up on his opportunity. Joey C: After the fall John Thomas just took, I think it’s safe to say that Crash doesn’t need to be in a huge hurry. Besides, Crash is a veteran, he knows what he’s doing. Mark Perletta: It doesn’t look like he’s going to be wasting much more time, and he’s actually going for a pinfall attempt… ONE… TWO… NO!!! Mark Perletta: John Thomas shouldering out after a two count, and Crash doesn’t seem all that surprised. Joey C: That was one of those pinfall attempts where Crash is just checking to see how much John has in him. Ending the match right there would’ve been an unexpected result. After waiting a moment to see if John gets up on his own, Crash pulls him up to his feet. Grabbing John around the waist from behind, Crash hoists him high up into the air, up into an atomic drop position and then sets him up onto the top rope. Slowly Crash starts climbing up behind John, physically spent from the damage both of them have dished out. Once he gets both feet firmly planted on the middle rope, Crash wraps his arms around John from behind once again, and the excitement level within the crowd starts to grow… Mark Perletta: Is Crash going for a super backdrop suplex?! This could be the final turning point… Joey C: If he hits it, it could be a great set-up move for either his Aero Zeppelin Driver or his modified STF… After pausing for a moment, Crash tries to pull John Thomas off the top rope, but before he can, John locked his leg underneath the steel apparatus holding the turnbuckle to the ring post. Crash tries again, but by now John has both of his feet locked in, not budging. John reaches back and grabs Crash around the back of his head, then with his other hand fires a hard right hand right into the bridge of Crash’s nose, forcing Crash to release his grip. John lets go of Crash’s head and then fires backwards with a hard back elbow smash, dropping Crash down off of the second turnbuckle. John looks backwards, sees Crash on the mat, then steps up onto the top rope. After a moment’s hesitation, John leaps backwards into a NOT YOUR AVERAGE MOONSAULT… AND NOBODY’S HOME!! Mark Perletta: Crash moved! Crash moved! Joey C: John Thomas goes for his signature moonsault and Crash rolls out of the way, John comes up with nothing but mat! Landon Savage: Tough break for the kid… Both men slowly start to get to their feet. Crash is the first up, and off of adrenaline alone, John forces himself up, with a little help from the ropes, a moment after Crash. With his back towards the middle of the ring, however, that leaves John prone to the attack. Crash takes advantage of the opening and grabs John around the waist from behind, locking him in, and much to the excitement of the crowd, Crash backs up a step and then swings John over his head, putting his shoulders on the mat with a german suplex. Crash holds on, trying to bridge, keeping John in a pinning situation… ONE! TWO!! JOHN THOMAS GETS A SHOULDER UP!! THREE!!! Landon Savage: Bullshit! John Thomas had his shoulder up! The referee can’t be giving Crash the win!! John Thomas had better protest this decision! Mark Perletta: The referee gets to his knees and signals for the bell, now he’s going over and explaining something… wait just a minute… Joey C: I don’t think John Thomas is going to want to protest this after all! Mark Perletta: The bell has rung, the match is over, Josephina Colbert about to make the announcement… Josephina Colbert: And here is your winner as a result of a pinfall… In that split second, you could hear a pin drop. Josephina Colbert: …John Thomas!! The entire arena is stunned, half of them starting up with boos as John has the referee raise his hand. When Crash starts getting up off the mat, still completely bewildered, John Thomas makes his way out of the ring and down off of the apron. Crash looks out of the ring, fuming mad and still slightly confused. John shoots him a smirk, and Crash would go after him, but John is already at the bottom of the entrance ramp, so he turns towards the referee, wondering what happened. Crash doesn’t say a word, doesn’t move any closer to the referee, but it’s obvious that he’s disappointed and confused. While eyeing the referee for possible signs of collusion, Crash gets the explanation from the referee. Mark Perletta: I assume that the referee is explaining to Crash the same thing he told the time keeper, the same message that was just relayed to me. Apparently Crash unknowingly had his shoulders on the mat during the German suplex pinning attempt. Because he didn’t know his shoulders were on the mat, he got counted down for the pinfall. Landon Savage: The look on his face right now as he hears what went down is priceless. Joey C: I think we’re about to be in for another priceless moment…! With a smirk on his face, John Thomas silently slides back into the ring, then gets up to his feet and all in one motion comes up behind Crash… grabs him by the arm… spins him around 360 degrees until they’re once again back to back… John pulls Crash’s arm around his own throat… then John DROPS down to the mat, pulling Crash down with him, knocking him out COLD with his sick falling neck breaker drop!! Mark Perletta: What a cowardly attack there by John Thomas, attacking Crash after the match, his back turned… And now he’s running off again, and I tell you what, John Thomas had better get as far away as possible before Crash wakes up and comes after him. Landon Savage: That could be a while, Perletta. That was a WICKED falling neck breaker drop by John Thomas, and I’d venture to guess that Crash is going to need help getting backstage! A huge, proud grin from ear to ear, John Thomas makes his way back up the ramp, walking backwards, the booing fans all over the arena not ruining the moment for him. He turns and looks up at the LEGACY Vision jumbotron, which now shows Crash laid out in the ring. John heads backstage, laughing at his handy work. A Critical Look At
The Tag Team Division
The scene comes to life and images fly across the screen of different LEGACY competitors along with match sound tracks. We see Revenge of the Nerds hoisting the LEGACY Tag Belts above their victorious heads. This is followed by images of Stephen Rawlings and Chris Turner posing as newly crowned Tag Champions. Next we have a black and white shot of Disorderly Youth taunting Revenge of the Nerds with the gold, and finally we see The Old School Kings walking towards the ring with the belts secured around their waists. Then that last image fades away and there is the sound of clicking heals and we see the full body silhouette of what appears to be a man against a background of these images. The light from the screen will not fully illuminate him, keeping him still in the shadows as he speaks with a calm but powerful voice. Man: Here they are LEGACY, all of your so-called “Tag Team Champions”. Revenge of the Nerds? A Joke. The Odd Cousins? Pathetic. Disorderly Youth? Hacks. The Old School Kings? Uncaring Dinosaurs. Yes my words are harsh, but they are fitting as each of these subsequent champions has served to further demean and tarnish the legacy of the Tag Team Championships here in LEGACY. Oh yes, I dare make that claim, because none of these “champion in name only” were really a team. These title reigns weren’t about success as a unit. These title reigns were not about becoming a dominant force. These title reigns were placeholders until one member could selfishly do something on their own. Look at Moxley and Cassidy each going after Tao of Valor. Look at Stephen Rawlings giving Turner the hike and chasing the top belt in LEGACY and worrying about the Hawkins Tournament. Similar claims can be made of Jake Dominion concerning the tournament and Dan Stein concerning the Tao of Valor and LEGACY World Title. They didn’t take the Tag Belts seriously. They didn’t take being dominant seriously, and took no pride in what they had achieved. That’s not to say LEGACY is the only federation to have this problem. Look at the biggest companies around and see how they treat their tag team titles … either as jokes or slapping them on singles competitors with no real purpose. The fact is ladies and gentlemen, in LEGACY at least, this is all about to change. Mark my words LEGACY, they are coming, and when they do all hell will break loose, and LEGACY will finally know the meaning of domination. With that the scene fades to black, and then we switch back to the announcer table. Landon Savage: The tag team division in LEGACY seems to be growing and growing, first Long Island Hardcore, now whoever this is. Rob Belote is going to love this. Mark Perletta: You don't think that the Long Island Hardcore are responsible for that video? Landon Savage: Oh I'm sure they're not the same. See, when you're "in" with the front office, you hear about some of the new signees, especially when they produce video spots for pay per view events. That's all I'm saying about that, though, so let's get back to the action. The scene then switches back to the ring. World Tag Team Title
Match
Gryffin Anselm & James Win vs Old School Kings (c) Josephina Colbert: Our next match is scheduled for one fall and is for the World Tag Team Championship! The lights in the arena dim and are replaced by a red glow from the spotlights and red strobe lights that shine down from above. “The Mirror” by Dream Theater starts to play as soon as the lighting changes, and the fans who know what this signifies start booing immediately, which leads to more booing. As James Win walks out through the curtain, wearing shimmering gold warm-up pants and a matching pull-over jacket, the level of booing significantly increases. His arms up in the air as if in celebration, James Win gazes from one side of the arena to the other through his golden rimmed glasses. Stepping to the side, “The All Star” moves just as his tag team partner comes through the curtain. Josephina Colbert: Introducing first, the challengers… weighing in at a combined 542 pounds… “The All Star” James Win and William “Gryffin” Anselm… they are… the SYNDICATE!!! Landon Savage: Coming out to prove they’re the best tag team in the business, here comes the Syndicate, and there is the leader of the pack – William. Gryffin. Anselm. Mark Perletta: Certainly a look of confidence and determination on Gryffin’s face, he can be VERY dangerous when he’s like this. Joey C: He’s definitely got championship gold on his mind, and he appears to be all business here tonight, not even pausing on the stage a top of the ramp, Anselm just makes his way on down to the ring, wanting to get this thing started. The moment he gets to the bottom of the ramp, Gryffin hops up onto the apron and enters the ring, pacing while he waits. Having taken longer for his entrance than Anselm, James Win climbs the steel steps to get up onto the apron, then walks half the length, pauses, and then ducks underneath the top rope to enter the ring. All the while Anselm keeps his gaze focused directly up the ramp, waiting for his opponents. Landon Savage: Shivers, Perletta. Shivers. Seeing the way Gryff is right now… There’s nothing that’s going to stop the Syndicate from bringing home the belts tonight. Mark Perletta: The two men who are set to come out next might have something to say about that… The lights dim, then change to purple. It is then replaced by a gold spotlight and strobe lights as the chords of "Blood of Heroes" by Megadeth begins to blast over the P.A. System. The crowd is on their feet cheering in anticipation of the LEGACY World Tag Team Champions. Mark Perletta: I can't figure out who I dislike more, both teams make me sick. Joey C: Then shut up and keep it to yourself Marky, give the champs some respect... Josephina Colbert: And their opponents, at a total combined weight of 491 pounds, they are YOUR LEGACY World Tag Team Champions… The cheers start rolling in even before she finishes… Josephina Colbert: Jake Dominion & Eric Wolfson… the OLD… SCHOOL… KINGS!!!!! The crowd pops as Jake Dominion makes his way through the curtain first, decked out in his ring attire, his trademark black shades, the LEGACY World Tag Team Title belt over his right shoulder, and the new Old School Kings t-shirt. He steps to one side of the ramp and soaks in the cheers as his partner Eric Wolfson makes his way through the curtain, also decked out in his ring attire, the LEGACY World Tag Team Title belt over his left shoulder, and the new Old School Kings t-shirt. They pound fists at the top of the ramp and make their way down to the ring... Mark Perletta: Wolfson seems to have a noticable limp, and it looks like his one leg is bandaged up, this may give The Syndicate the advantage. Joey C: Are you kidding me Marky? Wolfson's a competitor and a multiple time champion, his adrenaline is likely at an all-time high and he probably doesn't even feel anything in that leg. Landon Savage: I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I actually agree with Perletta over there. Joey C: Shut up Savage, who asked you? Mark Perletta: Finally getting things started, the opening bell just rang, and here we go. Landon Savage: After all the talk back and forth between these two, I think it’s only fitting that Jake Dominion and Gryffin Anselm start things off in the ring. Joey C: Even though this is a title match where the Syndicate are looking to take the belts from the Old School Kings, it really is a lot about Gryffin Anselm and Jake Dominion. Mark Perletta: Things have gotten very heated between the two of them, and they’re going at it in the ring right now. Dominion lays into Gryffin with a few hard right hands, then takes Anselm by the wrist and goes for an irish whip. Gryffin blocks the attempt, grabs onto Jake’s wrist with his other hand and pulls Jake in, nailing him with a thrusting shoulder block to the shoulder joint, and then he takes Jake by the head, grabs him in close and sends a knee to Dominion’s gut. From there, Anselm takes Dominion’s face, puts it against his knee as he jumps up, continuing to hold onto Jake’s head as his foot hits the mat, nailing a face buster onto his knee. Landon Savage: Gryffin starting things right off, trying to disorient Jake Dominion with that shot to the face. Mark Perletta: He’s following that up with an irish whip, let’s see what he goes for… As Gryffin ducks down for the back body drop attempt, he telegraphed it a little too soon and Jake Dominion floats over, going for the sunset flip. Gryffin battles, trying to stay vertical and not get put into the pinfall situation, but Eric Wolfson gets into the ring, runs in and NAILS Anselm with a clothesline, sending him backwards right into the roll-up. All in the same motion, Eric Wolfson slides out of the ring on the opposite side from where he came in, and since only the legal men are still in the ring, the referee slides into place and makes the count. ONE! TWO!! NO!! Mark Perletta: Gryffin Anselm able to kick out, and you wonder what might’ve happened if the referee had started the count as soon as Gryffin’s shoulders were on the mat. Joey C: He would’ve had to wait for Wolfson to be out of the ring anyway, and besides, should this pinfall attempt even be allowed? It was obtained by illegal means… Mark Perletta: I don’t think that’s quite the case… An interesting point to bring up, though, is that it looks as if Eric Wolfson is still favoring that ankle from his match a few weeks ago, and maybe it didn’t totally heel up right. Landon Savage: And I’d bet that James Win noticed that very fact, and the next chance he has to communicate that to Gryffin, he’ll do so. Both men get back to their feet and Jake Dominion nails Gryffin with a spinning roundhouse kick to the middle of his back, stunning him in pain for a moment. After tagging in Wolfson, Jake grabs Anselm by the wrist and sends him into the ropes with an irish whip. On the return Anselm is met with a back body drop by Eric Wolfson, sending Anselm down onto the waiting knees of Jake Dominion. Mark Perletta: Nice double-team variation on a backbreaker by the champions, putting Gryffin Anselm into a world of hurt! Eric’s ankle didn’t seem to slow him down at all on that one!! Landon Savage: Don’t sound TOO pleased, Perletta. You’re supposed to be SOMEWHAT unbiased! And as for the ankle, it’s still early… Dominion nails a few quick kicks to Anselm’s ribs and then looks over at Wolfson and makes the tag back out. No sooner do the two men switch places then Wolfson grabs Anselm by the arm, forces him up to his feet, twists around into a standing armbar, and then Eric tags Dominion back into the match. With Wolfson still holding on to the standing armbar, Dominion climbs up to the top turnbuckle and flips forward, grabbing Anselm’s head and nailing a variation of a snapmare takeover, sending Gryffin flipping forward violently. Dominion then hooks the leg and goes for the pinfall attempt… ONE! TWO!! NO!! Mark Perletta: That was a close one, but James Win got in there and broke things up! Landon Savage: I don’t think they would’ve gotten the pinfall right there either way, but James Win is a good team mate for not giving us the chance to find out. Mark Perletta: Well the referee scolds James Win and forces him to get back out onto the apron, and even though the Old School Kings don’t get the pinfall just yet, they get to keep in on the attack. * * * * * * * Flash Forward - Later in the Match * * * * * * * As Gryffin works his way up off the mat, Eric steps in and nails him with a hard right hand. Then another. The third one continues to rock Anselm back off balance. Taking Gryffin by the arm, Wolfson sends him into the ropes with an irish whip. On the return, however, Anselm picks up his speed and hits a rising knee lift to the jaw of Eric Wolfson a la Triple H. Landon Savage: Nice move there by Anselm to put a stop to the momentum built by the Old School Kings. Mark Perletta: Eric Wolfson certainly not out of it just yet, he is still able to reach back and make the tag in to Jake Dominion. When Jake Dominion enters the ring, he lays into Gryffin with a hard right hand, but Anselm retaliates with a right hand of his own. The two men trade punches back and forth, with Gryffin forcing Dominion backwards with each one. Suddenly instead of hitting a right hand, Gryffin ducks down and bulldozers Dominion backwards, shoving him right into the corner where the knee of James Win is waiting between the ropes. As Jake connects with it, you can see the pain on his face very visibly. Landon Savage: The Syndicate back in control… Now James Win drops off the apron, he grabs hold onto Dominion’s ankles… Gryffin backs up… Joey C: NICE shoulder block there by Anselm onto Dominion, who wasn’t able to move out of the way of the juggernaut as he charged in. Mark Perletta: Although illegal, it was nice tag team work there by the Syndicate. Taking Jake by the arm, Gryffin twists around into a standing armbar. After Win gets back up onto the apron, Gryffin tags him into the match. Climbing up to the top rope, James Win leaps off and nails a flying shoulderblock tackle onto Dominion, who was still locked in the armbar by Anselm. Joey C: Another nice double-team move there by the Syndicate. Mark Perletta: James Win making another quick tag into Gryffin… And Eric Wolfson isn’t going to stand for another double-team move! Eric Wolfson runs across the ring and nails James Win from behind. Gryffin Anselm gets into the ring and starts laying into Wolfson. When Jake Dominion tries to get involved, the referee moves in and tries to break up the four-man scuffle. James Win heads back out onto the apron, and just before he does, he nails Eric Wolfson with a forearm shot to the face. Gryffin takes the opportunity to run in and clothesline Jake Dominion down to the mat while the referee is trying to calm him down. From there, Gryffin moves over and nails Wolfson with a clubbing blow to the back, then picks him up and hoists him up onto his shoulders. Reaching out, Gryffin tags in James Win, who climbs up to the top turnbuckle. Jumping off the top, James steps onto the back of Eric Wolfson, then pivots and goes for a moonsault down onto Dominion… NO!! Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion spotted the move coming as he was getting up off the mat, he backs up a couple of steps and then clotheslines Win down to the mat nearly out of the air! Joey C: He was about to hit the mat and land on his feet anyway, and besides, Jake Dominion isn’t even the legal man right now! Mark Perletta: Oh yes he is, it’s Eric Wolfson who isn’t legal right now, and neither is Gryffin Anselm… Anselm dives backwards with a crucifix drop… and Jake Dominion hits an elbow drop! Landon Savage: Damn it! Mark Perletta: The Old School Kings are back in control of this match, and the referee is restoring order! The referee yells at Gryffin, getting him to leave the ring. He then says the same to Wolfson, who was getting up off the mat after Anselm moved off of him. Dominion takes Win by the wrist and drags him over into the corner of the Old School Kings and starts laying boots down into him, not letting up until Wolfson is back out onto the apron. From there, Jake reaches over and tags Wolfson back into the match. When Eric gets into the ring he grabs James by the arm and lifts him up to his feet, coming in behind him and wrapping him up around the waist, then he tags Dominion back in. Eric then lifts James up and hits an atomic drop, not letting go just yet, then hitting a second one. From there Wolfson grabs a little lower, wrapping one arm around each of James’thighs just above the knee, then he pulls backwards into a wheelbarrow position. Joey C: What the hell are the Old School Kings doing?! Mark Perletta: Jake Dominion into the ring… he bounces off the near ropes, Wolfson holds Win perfectly horizontal… AXE KICK BY DOMINION!! Just after Dominion hits the axe kick, Wolfson lets go of his opponent, allowing him to drop down to the mat. The referee steps in and tells Eric he must leave the ring, no longer the legal man. Wolfson does so, and Dominion goes to work, stomping in on Win. Dropping down, Jake Dominion wrenches back on Win’s shoulder, pulling the arm into a fujiwara armbar, Win yelling out in pain. The referee slides in to see if Win is going to submit. Landon Savage: The referee is wasting his time. There’s no way James Win would submit right here, knowing what would be waiting for him back in the locker room area if he causes the Syndicate to lose this match. Mark Perletta: I think Jake Dominion realizes that, and now he’s bringing James back up to his feet to inflict more damage… and I’m not sure he was trying to get a submission with that armbar. He might’ve had ulterior motives in mind. Grabbing James Win by the arm, Jake Dominion twists around into a standing armbar, yanking down hard to try to add more pressure to the limb, and Dominion then reaches over and tags in Eric Wolfson. Wolfson immediately goes up to the top rope before entering the ring, and from there he hops off, landing both feet on the back of James Win’s shoulder, then hopping down onto the mat. Mark Pereltta: Nice double-team move there by the champions to continue work on James Win’s shoulder… Joey C: Yeah, only problem is that when Eric Wolfson hit the mat, he looks to have twisted that already injured ankle of his in the process. Mark Perletta: I think you’re right, as now it looks like Eric Wolfson is limping a little bit. Landon Savage: James Win getting back to his feet now, and Wolfson goes back to work. After nailing The All Star in the gut with a straight kick, doubling him over, Eric Wolfson grabs James Win by the head and suddenly the crowd gets really excited, knowing what’s coming next. Wolfson then hoists Win UP off the mat, into the air, looking for his RULE OF OBLIVION brainbuster… BUT GRYFFIN ANSELM GETS INTO THE RING AND DROPS WOLFSON TO THE MAT WITH A SPEAR!! Mark Perletta: Gryffin getting into the ring illegally, and had he not just done that, the Old School Kings might be about to win the match! Landon Savage: THAT is what you call GREAT TEAMWORK!! Joey C: The referee gets Gryffin back out onto the apron, but crawling over, James Win is about to make the tag out… And now here comes Anselm, now the legal man yet again. Gryffin takes Wolfson, lifts him up off the mat and puts his hurt ankle over the middle rope, then SHOVES Eric backwards over the top rope, tying him upside down in the ropes from his ankle. Wolfson screams out in pain and the referee moves over to yell at Anselm for doing what he did, but Anselm yells at him right back. Jake Dominion gets into the ring and starts pounding on Gryffin, forcing him away from Wolfson. The referee starts trying to release Eric’s leg, but James Win runs over on the outside of the apron and starts yelling at the referee, telling him to deal with the fact that Jake Dominion is in the ring illegally. Landon Savage: That’s right, ref, the in-ring goings-on is your primary concern! Deal with Jake Dominion first, then you can tend to Eric Wolfson! Mark Perletta: And that’s exactly what the referee is going to do, much to the delight of James Win on the outside. Taking a chair from the time keeper’s station, James Win quickly moves over, swings back the chair… and then CONNECTS hard to the ankle of Eric Wolfson. Wolfson is obviously in a lot of pain as Win connects a second time. Instead of connecting with the ankle a third time, Win nails Wolfson in the head, then drops the chair, as the referee has now removed Jake Dominion from the ring. Mark Perletta: The referee now coming in and trying to help Wolfson get dislodged… Yes, and now Eric is down onto the apron… Landon Savage: And Gryffin pulls him back into the ring, helping him back up to his feet. Taking Wolfson by the wrist, Gryffin pulls him in and FLATTENS him with a short-arm clothesline. Lifting him back up to his feet, Anselm takes Wolfson and lifts him high above his head into a gorilla press position, holding him there for a good four seconds before dropping him down to his shoulders and in the same motion POWERSLAMMING HIM down to the mat. Gryffin then sits up and reaches back, tagging in James Win. The All Star immediately goes to the top rope and then leaps off into a frogsplash, coming down hard down onto Eric Wolfson. Mark Perletta: The Syndicate in control, and it looks like they’re going to keep in with the quick tags, with Win tagging Gryffin Anselm right back into the match. Landon Savage: This is a good strategy, isolating Eric Wolfson and not letting Dominion back into the ring. Gryffin gets into the ring and grabs Wolfson, starts to pick him up off the mat and then just SLAMS his fist down into Eric’s face, crumpling him back down to the mat. Instead of continuing in on the attack, however, Anselm runs over and NAILS Dominion with a shoulder block, sending him down off the apron. From there, Gryffin walks over and tags in James Win, who lifts Wolfson up off the mat from behind, picks him up and hits an atomic drop, sending him right down onto his hurt ankle. Eric collapses down to the mat, but Win isn’t done just yet. After tagging Anselm back into the match, Win picks Wolfson up off the match. As soon as he gets into the ring, Gryffin runs across the ring into the ropes. As Gryffin is doing this, Win sets Eric up into a position for a Russian Legsweep, but as Gryffin runs in he grabs Wolfson, lifts him up into the air and NAILS his Spear / Spinebuster combination! Mark Perletta: This doesn’t look good for the Old School Kings… Landon Savage: And Win runs over, dives through the ropes and nails Jake Dominion with a la pancha on the outside! Dominion can’t get back into the ring to help Wolfson out… Joey C: Gryffin lifts Wolfson up off the mat… he puts him on his shoulders… Fireman’s carry position… Michinoku Driver!! DEVASTATOR!! ANSELM HOOKS THE LEG… ONE… TWO… THREE. The bell rings and Josephina Colbert lifts the microphone at the time keeper’s table as the referee is handed the World Tag Team Championship belts. Josephina Colbert: Here are your winners and NEW World Tag Team Champions… William Gryffin Anselm… “The All Star” James Win… THE SYNDICATE!!! Mark Perletta: Gryffin Anselm and the Syndicate have done it, they have defeated the Old School Kings and are now the World Tag Team Champions... Landon Savage: And the future of this division has never been so bright as it is right now. I can honestly say that this division, right here and now, is THE BEST tag team division in the business. NO ONE comes close. The referee hands the World Tag Team Championship belts to Gryffin and The All Star, who raise the belts while looking at Jake Dominion, who just got back in the ring to check on his tag team partner, rubbing it in. Georgia Font The Contributing Factor
We cut backstage where John Thomas is standing with Intern Avery. He has a bottle of water in his hand and a smirk on his face. Intern Avery: John Thomas, first of all, congratulations on your victory tonight against Crash. To what do you attribute your success? John lets out a chuckle, looks away, then looks back at Intern Avery, almost as if in disbelief. With a smirk on his face, John responds. John Thomas: Oh, wait, you're serious, aren't you? You young interviewers, trying to ask the "incitefull" questions... He shrugs his shoulders. John Thomas: Fine, I'll provide some "incite" as to how I won this match. When a guy like me wrestles a guy like Crash, that's what happens. The old guys out there who see all the money changing hands in the business these days and want a piece... they should just stay home and be happy if their retirement plan leaves them with some spending cash after they pay whatever lingering medical bills they've got, not try to make a comeback, because that just leads to new injuries... and new expenses. Fact is, they just can't hang. Thats why Crash lost. John pats Avery on the back and then walks off, taking a sip of water and trying not to laugh at the concept. Long Live the Kings
As Jake Dominion and Eric Wolfson make there way down the hallway, Wolfson with the help of a single crutch. A voice calls out from down the hallway, saying something we can't hear. The camera switches to a shot from ahead of where the Old School Kings are standing, showing things from their perspective, and we see Gryffin Anselm down the hallway, a grin on his face, one of the World Tag Team Title Belts over his shoulder. Gryffin Anselm: From the look on your face, I'm not sure you heard me, Jake. This belt, was it yours, or was it his? Anselm chuckles to himself. Gryffin Anselm: I just wanted to know, because if it was yours... I was going to give it to James. He's not picky like I am. Slowly Jake Dominion starts walking towards Gryffin. Suddenly from behind, Hendrickson Tyler runs in and drops Jake Dominion down to the floor. Stevie Paginello also runs in, a steel chair in hand, and nails Eric Wolfson in the back. He then moves a couple of feet down and raises the chair, DRILLING it downwards into Wolfson's injured ankle. Jake Dominion tries to get up, but Hendrickson Tyler kicks him in the chest, keeping him on the ground. After nailing Eric Wolfson in the ankle a second time, Stevie Paginello tosses the chair down at the fallen Old School King before walking over and drilling Jake Dominion with a kick to the ribs. From there, Hendrickson Tyler and Stevie Paginello walk up to Gryffin Anselm, and the three men walk off laughing. Jake Dominion rolls over onto his stomach, then gets up off the floor and he slowly crawls in Eric Wolfson's direction. We then cut back to a shot of the announce position. Mark Perletta: I... I can't believe... I can't believe what we just saw transpire. First the Syndicate defeat the Old School Kings, and now this?! Landon Savage: It's called "sending a message", Perletta. There's a new force in LEGACY. Not just in the tag division, but in our whole organization. Not only did the Syndicate defeat the Old School Kings, but they've destroyed them. Mark Perletta: It was a disgusting display, completely uncalled for, and I hope there's some action taken because of it. Tao of Valor Championship
Last Man Standing Match DJ Cassidy vs Dan Stein (c) Josephina Colbert: Our next match is set for one fall and is for the Tao of Valor Championship! By stipulation it will be contested under Last Man Standing rules, the match being decided when one man can not answer a standing ten count! Introducing first… The house lights dim and golden-y yellow lights flood various parts of the arena as a remix of “More Human Than Human” by White Zombie begins to play. To a very large chorus of booing, Dan Stein steps out from the back, the Tao of Valor Championship belt over his shoulder. Mark Perletta: I got word just a few minutes ago that Dan Stein requested to come out first for this match. Landon Savage: Interesting little mind-game there by Stein, making DJ Cassidy wait even longer to get this match started, throwing off his comfort zone by switching up the pre-match rituals. Joey C: I saw DJ Cassidy backstage earlier, and although he’d never admit it, he’s definitely nervous. Mark Perletta: This is easily the biggest singles match of Cassidy’s career, emotions running high for him. Very strategic move by Dan Stein to take his time during his entrance, making DJ wait, letting the butterflies build up before he comes out and can let things rip. After walking to each of the sides of the entrance stage, Dan Stein walks back to the center of the stage, waiting at the top of the ramp and then three bursts of golden pyro shoot off behind him. Then and only then does he slowly start to make his way down the ramp, a cocky smirk on his face, looking pleased at the booing fans who are pressed up against the guard-rails lining the ramp. As he gets halfway to the ring, a roar of cheers breaks through the negative response. Mark Perletta: Here comes DJ Cassidy! He couldn’t stand it any longer, he wants to get this thing started right now! Landon Savage: And Dan Stein wasn’t ready for him yet, and Cassidy The Opportunist sends Stein down hard to the steel entrance ramp with a clothesline! Joey C: This is a side we haven’t really seen much of from DJ Cassidy, just laying into Stein with a flurry of right and left hands. Picking Dan Stein up off the ground, DJ Cassidy grabs him by the arm and sends him into the steel steps hard with an irish whip, knocking both halves of the steps away from the corner post. Unrelenting, Cassidy then takes Stein by the head and shoves him, back first, into the steel guardrail. Dan slumps to the ground, the fans going crazy all around him, enjoying the attack. DJ takes Stein by the head and starts to lift him up to his feet, but before he brings him completely to a vertical base, Cassidy is NAILED with a low blow from Stein, doubling him over. Joey C: Nice work, Dan-o! Give it to him!! Mark Perletta: Things getting started very quickly here, and it looked like DJ Cassidy was going to have the advantage for the opening bell, but right now I’m not sure that’s going to be the case. Grabbing Cassidy by the arm, Stein picks his opponent up and irish whips him into the steel guardrail back first. As Cassidy hits, Stein runs in and NAILS him in the face with a running kick. Staying in on the attack, Stein grabs Cassidy and shoves him into the corner ringpost, again sending Cassidy to the arena floor. From there, Stein takes DJ by the head and rolls him into the ring underneath the bottom rope, and then he follows him in. Mark Perletta: And now that the action has entered the ring, this match can get started. Joey C: Hold on a second, Dan Stein looks confused about something. Standing in the ring, Dan Stein yells in the referee’s direction “Where’s my belt?!”. The ref walks over and asks the time keeper for the belt, as a LEGACY official picked it up at the bottom of the ramp after the pre-match attack by Cassidy. Once he has the belt, the referee walks over and hands the belt to Dan Stein, who takes the belt, kisses it, then hands it back to the referee before laying into Cassidy with a stomp to the head. Mark Perletta: So much action has happened already, and the opening bell just now rung. Landon Savage: I wouldn’t be surprised if DJ Cassidy’s bell just got rung. Dropping down to his knees while straddling Cassidy, Dan Stein slowly starts to send hard shots right to the forehead of his opponent. DJ starts to put up his guard, then grabs Stein and rolls him over sideways, Cassidy getting the mounted position much to the delight of the fans. DJ gets in a few good hard forearm shots before Stein is able to cover up, and after a few blocked attempts, Cassidy gets up off of Stein. Mark Perletta: DJ Cassidy getting himself back into this match… Dan Stein trying to get up off the mat but DJ Cassidy moves in and grabs him into a side headlock. Joey C: Hey ref, check the forearm, that’s a choke!! When the referee sees that DJ Cassidy had his forearm across Stein’s throat, he tells him to release the hold. Once he does release the hold, Cassidy is forced to step back a few steps, and Dan Stein starts getting up off the mat, coughing a little bit after the choke. Once Stein gets back up to his feet, Cassidy runs in and starts nailing him with a barrage of right hands and forearms, backing Stein up into the corner. Cassidy kicks him in the gut and then grabs him around the waist and takes him back into the center of the ring with a belly to belly suplex. Mark Perletta: Picture perfect belly to belly there by DJ Cassidy, and Dan Stein is struggling. Joey C: He’s probably just surprised that DJ Cassidy isn’t falling all over himself so far. Mark Perletta: Well in either case, Cassidy has another opening, and… wait, I know what DJ is doing… Standing over Stein, DJ Cassidy pretends to reach into his pretend belt and grab a pretend sword, thrusting it into the air. As he does so, he yells out “DRAGON SLAYER!!” and the fans start to go wild, seeing what DJ is about to do. With Stein slowly trying to get up, DJ Cassidy grabs him by the head, the fans excitement level increasing by the moment, and he runs in the direction of the nearest corner. Cassidy steps up the turnbuckles, but as he goes to flip over, DJ Cassidy is LAUNCHED over the top rope by Stein, sending him down to the arena floor, coming VERY close to where the steel steps had been displaced. Landon Savage: DJ Cassidy going for that Dragon Slayer move, probably as a tribute to the STILL injured Herb Moxley, and instead he finds himself even closer to joining Moxley on the shelf! Mark Perletta: It might have been a bit early to attempt that move, but had he hit it, DJ Cassidy might be the new Tao of Valor champion right about now. Joey C: Yeah, and if Herb Moxley had been able to hit the Dragon Slayer at the SuperCard, he’d still be part of the active roster! Mark Perletta: A lot of people holding out hope that Moxley is going to someday return to the business, but for now, there’s not much hope of that. That’s why DJ Cassidy is doing everything he can to not only win this match and win the Tao of Valor Title, but to injure Dan Stein and avenge what happened to his tag team partner, his best friend! Stein drops down to the mat, slides under the bottom rope, then walks over to his opponent and lays into him with a few quick stomps to the back, enciting the fans, first the ones nearest them at ringside, then moving in a wave to the rafters. Pleased by what he has accomplished, Stein grabs DJ by the head and then sends a forearm shot into Cassidy’s face before he throws him into the ring underneath the bottom rope, quickly following him back in. Once inside the ring, Stein grabs Cassidy, picks him up, lifts him into the air into a vertical suplex, then turns and lets DJ drop down in front of him, hitting a gutbuster. Cassidy writhes around in pain on the mat, and then Stein lays into him with a couple of stiff kicks to the ribs and then the back before picking him back up to his feet. Taking him by the wrist, Stein irish whips Cassidy into the corner where he hits hard back first. Stein runs in to follow up but DJ gets his boot up into the air at the last moment, nailing Dan in the face and dropping him to the mat. Mark Perletta: Nice move by DJ Cassidy to get himself back in this match, let’s see if he can follow it up. Joey C: Since Dan Stein’s already getting back to his feet, so I don’t know how much of an opportunity Cassidy is going to get! Cassidy lays into Stein with a hard right hand, but Stein fires back with one of his own. DJ follows up with another right hand, and as Stein goes for a second one, but Cassidy blocks it. From there, Cassidy, goes for a hiptoss, but Stein blocks it. Not wanting to let Stein capitalize, Cassidy bends Dan forward and puts the underside of his knee up onto the back of Stein’s head. From there, Cassidy pushes down and then backflips. Before he can capitalize, though, he stumbles a step, which gives Dan Stein an opportunity to step in and clothesline Cassidy down to the mat. Joey C: DJ Cassidy stumbles momentarily and completely blows any chance he has of getting back into this match. Mark Perletta: A missed opportunity for sure, I wouldn’t say he blew anything. Landon Savage: Stein now working his way to the outside and up the turnbuckles, Cassidy had better do something soon. As Cassidy crawls over and grabs onto the ropes to help himself get up, Stein waits on the top rope, hoping DJ will move back towards the center of the ring. When DJ stumbles backwards away from the ropes, he spots Dan on the top rope, and as Stein leaps off and goes for a top rope maneuver, DJ Cassidy steps in, grabs Stein out of mid-air and takes him down to the mat hard with a powerslam! Mark Perletta: Huge impact on that powerslam, and if this were a regular match, this would be a perfect opportunity for Cassidy to go for a pinfall attempt… Landon Savage: But it’s not! It’s a Last Man Standing match, and Cassidy’s going to have to do a lot more than just powerslam Stein to take the Tao of Valor Championship away from him. After rolling off of Stein, DJ works his way back up to his feet, but so does Dan. Cassidy is the first of the two up, and he grabs the champion before he can get back to a vertical base and locks in an abdominal stretch. Stein reaches out, trying to grab onto the ropes, but Cassidy wrenches back, keeping him from getting there. Suddenly DJ turns, drops to the mat, rolling Stein up, using the abdominal stretch positioning to form a cradle of sorts, and the referee slides in and reminds Cassidy of the match’s stipulations. Mark Perletta: A momentary lapse there by DJ Cassidy, and that’s bound to happen. At least once during this match, things had to get so heated that one of these individuals forgot that a pinfall would not help them. Joey C: My money was on Cassidy screwing it up. Not wasting any time, Cassidy rolls Stein over onto his stomach and then gets behind him, pulling his head and shoulders back into a camel clutch style hold. Once he has Stein arched back, DJ switches it up, putting his knee firmly into the middle of Dan’s back, pulling back on his chin, much to the approval of the cheering fans. * * * * * * * Flash Forward - Later in the Match * * * * * * * Taking Stein by the wrist, DJ Cassidy lifts his opponent to his feet and sends him into the ropes. On the return, Dan Stein ducks underneath a clothesline attempt, putting on the brakes, and as Cassidy turns around to face his opponent, Dan Stein spins around and LEVELS DJ Cassidy with a spinning discuss forearm shot a la Bryan Danielson. Mark Perletta: Dan Stein with that huge forearm shot, and I think the fact that Cassidy had no idea it was coming added to the impact, as he wasn’t able to brace for it at all. Landon Savage: He’s in there with a champion, Perletta, and he had a few weeks to prepare for this match. He should’ve been prepared for anything! Mark Perletta: In all fairness, I think that’s the first time we’ve seen a discuss forearm shot from Dan Stein here in LEGACY. Landon Savage: That may be true, but Stein’s had a ton of matches in his career, not just here in LEGACY, but elsewhere, too. Cassidy could’ve checked tapes of that stuff, including the fights from the now defunct ALBATROSS, where Stein held their top strap. Mark Perletta: He very well may have, but now he’s getting up, so we’ll see where this goes from here… Joey C: Well Cassidy might be getting back up, but you can tell that he’s a little dazed. Not wanting to let Cassidy get all the way back up on his own, Dan Stein moves in behind his opponent, grabs him around the waist, picks him up and drops his feet down into the mat with an atomic drop. Stein then picks DJ up again, this time he put Cassidy’s legs over middle rope, resting them out onto the apron with Cassidy’s body still inside the ring. Reaching down, Stein hook’s DJ’s feet on the bottom rope, then he clotheslines Cassidy, arching him backwards. Mark Perletta: Stein now going out onto the apron… he’s climbing up to the top turnbuckle… what the heck is Stein doing? Landon Savage: I think I like what he’s about to do…. Once getting to top rope, Stein leaps off and drops a knee right to the chest of DJ Cassidy, rocking him downwards, jarring his feet from the bottom rope and sending Cassidy back down into the middle of the ring. The crowd gives a surprised pop, but when Stein gets up with a smirk on his face and thrusts his arms out to the side in victory, the booing rolls in. Stein grabs DJ by the arm and pulls him to the center of the ring, then he walks over and yells at the referee to start the count. ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR… Cassidy hears the count and starts to stir FIVE… SIX… Mark Perletta: Cassidy gets his knee underneath himself and forces his way back to his feet, turning to find Dan Stein, who doesn’t look happy to see DJ back up. Dan Stein walks in and goes for a right hand, but Cassidy blocks it and nails one of his own. Stein tries again, and again it’s blocked and again DJ nails one of his own! The crowd gets excited as Dan Stein then goes for a kick, and it, too, is blocked as Cassidy grabs Stein’s leg. Dan jumps and spins and goes for an enzuigiri, Cassidy ducks it, holds on to the leg, drops down to the mat and locks in a single leg crab… THEN TURNS IT INTO AN STF!! Mark Perletta: And here we go! This is DJ Cassidy’s strong point, and he’s finally able to get the big reversal turned into a submission hold, and Dan Stein is in trouble, on the mat here in the middle of the ring. Landon Savage: A lot of good this hold is going to do Cassidy, it’s not like Dan Stein could tap out even if he wants to… which I’m sure he doesn’t. Remember the match stipulations, Perletta. The referee isn’t going to come in and ask Stein if he wants to submit, because submissions in this match don’t matter a damn bit!! Mark Perletta: That may be true, but if Cassidy can hold this STF on Dan Stein, it’s going to do a good bit of damage to the leg, and that’s going to slow Stein down a bit. Stein struggles to try to roll the hold over, but to no avail. Cassidy keeps the move locked in, making it impossible for Stein to move anywhere. Out of desperation, Stein reaches back and starts pulling Cassidy’s hair, but still he doesn’t let go of the hold. With his hand still back there, Stein starts raking DJ’s eyes, then he puts his thumb into Cassidy’s mouth and starts pulling, and DJ screams out in pain. After a moment of Stein trying to rip Cassidy’s jaw off, DJ lets go of the hold and gets up. Instead of moving away, however, Cassidy drops an elbow drop to the middle of Stein’s back, collapsing him back down. Mark Perletta: Dan Stein able to break the STF, but DJ Cassidy isn’t giving up the offensive just yet. Joey C: Cassidy going to the outside, now he’s heading up to the top turnbuckle… what is this idiot doing? As Cassidy gets to the top rope, Dan Stein slowly starts to get up off the mat. Spotting his opponent standing, Cassidy leaps off the top rope. When Stein sees Cassidy coming off the top, he takes a couple steps forwards and ducks, avoiding whatever move Cassidy was going for. Knowing he missed the move, Cassidy does a forwards roll as soon as he hits the mat, then gets up to his feet and turns around just in time to see Dan Stein making his way towards him. Out of pure instinct, Cassidy takes two steps forwards and leaps… FLYING SHIN CLOTHESLINE!!! Mark Perletta: Great move there by DJ Cassidy to put Dan Stein back on the mat, and… wait, what’s he doing? Joey C: Not this again!! Didn’t he learn his lesson when he tried it and missed it the first time? Standing over Stein, DJ Cassidy pretends to pull a pretend sword out of a pretend sheath in his pretend belt, and he hoists it into the air, and as he does so, he and the crowd both yell “DRAGON SLAYER!!” in unison. Instead of ending the pretend antics there, Cassidy then pretends to put the sword into Cassidy’s back in a downward motion, switching it up a bit. From there, DJ Cassidy grabs Stein by the head, lifts him off the mat, then hits a European uppercut. Grabbing Stein’s head again, Cassidy swiftly moves over to the corner… climbs the turnbuckle… flips over…LANDING BEHIND DAN STEIN AND DROPPING HIM TO THE MAT WITH A REVERSE DDT!! Mark Perletta: Nice move by the challenger, doing a modified Dragon Slayer and putting Stein out! Joey C: Is it going to be enough to win him the match, though? ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR… FIVE… Dan Stein starts to stir, crawling over towards the ropes SIX… SEVEN!! EIGHT!! Stein grabs onto the middle rope, pulls himself up, then grabs the top rope for stability… DJ Cassidy moves in, grabs Dan Stein and hoists him up to his shoulders, the crowd gets excited as it looks like Cassidy is going to go for his Death Valley Driver move… BUT STEIN DROPS DOWN OFF OF CASSIDY’S SHOULDERS!! Mark Perletta: Cassidy going for that Death Valley Driver, Dan Stein escapes… Landon Savage: Forearm shot spins Cassidy around… Stein runs towards the ropes… hops up onto the second rope… propels himself backwards, spins… FLYING ENZUIGIRI!! Joey C: DJ Cassidy is down! Mark Perletta: So is Dan Stein! He’s on the mat too, exhausted by that burst of energy usage!! With both men down on the mat, the referee just walks around, waiting to see which of them moves first. The champ stirs first, working his way up off the mat. Once he gets to his feet, he spots Cassidy stirring, holding the back of his head, then he looks to the top rope and gets an idea. Walking over, Stein grabs Cassidy and pulls him up to his knees, then he walks over and gets out onto the apron. Slowly, Stein starts climbing up to the top turnbuckle. Inside the ring, DJ Cassidy slowly starts to pull himself up to his feet. Stein gets to the top rope about the same time that DJ gets his second leg underneath himself, and just as DJ turns to find his opponent, Dan leaps off the top rope… Stein swings his leg… AND CONNECTS WITH THE SIDE OF CASSIDY’S HEAD!! FLYING ENZUIGIRI!! Joey C: He hit it! Dan Stein hit “The Lights”!! DJ Cassidy is out!! Landon Savage: Make the count, ref!! ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR… FIVE… SIX… SEVEN… … EIGHT… … NINE… … … TEN. As the bell sounds, Dan Stein drops to his knees, thrusting his arms into the air, victorious, as the referee walks over and gets the Tao of Valor Championship belt for him. Josephina Colbert: Here is your winner… and STILL Tao of Valor Champion… “The Lights”… Dan… Steiiiiiin!! When he is handed his championship gold, Dan Stein kisses it, then holds it in close as he gets up off the mat and heads out of the ring. Joey C: And now he's done it! Dan Stein has defeated not ONE Nerd, but BOTH of the Nerds! I can only hope that sometime in the near future we hear that DJ Cassidy is going to join Herb Moxley on the shelf for a while! Mark Perletta: That's a terrible thing to say, and frankly I hope DJ Cassidy works to get himself a rematch, because I think he could beat Dan Stein. Landon Savage: Unless Cassidy gets that rematch soon, he might have to find a way to get a shot at the World Champion, because that's the way things are headed for Dan Stein! He's got two of the four tokens he needs to get a guaranteed World Title shot, and I don't see anyone slowing him down anytime soon. Recap Montage

Finals Match Justin Moreno vs Stephen Rawlings Josephina Colbert: Ladies and Gentlemen our penultimate match of the night is set for one fall and is the Final Match of the Hawkins Memorial Tournament! Cheers start up around the arena. Josephina Colbert: Introducing first… During a brief pause from Josephina, “Welcome Home” by Coheed & Cambria starts up over the speakers… Josephina Colbert: Standing at 6 foot 1, weighing in at 205 pounds… here is Justin… Moreno!! Out from the back walks Justin Moreno, getting a fairly good reaction from the fans as he makes his way down to the ring. All the way down the isle he slaps the out-stretched hands of the fans, keeping his gaze on the ring. Once he gets to the bottom of the ramp, Justin Moreno runs and hops up onto the apron, then hops right up onto the top rope and holds his arm to the sides, getting a bigger reaction from the fans than he was getting. He then hops backwards into the ring. Mark Perletta: Justin Moreno is the first Finalist to enter the ring, and he got here by defeating Loco Martinez, then DJ Cassidy, and then Jake Dominion. Landon Savage: And isn’t it just fitting that Justin Moreno comes out first. In championship matches, the CHALLENGER comes out first, then the champion. I think it’s obvious that this is a match people are expecting Rawlings to win. He’s practically the winner of the Hawkins Memorial Tournament, and it’s up to Justin Moreno to prove everyone wrong. Joey C: If Justin Moreno hadn’t LUCKED his way into each of those wins, people wouldn’t consider him such an underdog. Mark Perletta: I don’t know if I’d say he LUCKED into anything. Justin Moreno found opportunities in each of his three matches to score a pinfall, and he made use of them. Landon Savage: Yeah, well unless he finds a huge opportunity against Rawlings, he’s not going to win this match, because that’s what it’s going to take, a HUGE opportunity. Mark Perletta: Well Stephen Rawlings prepares for matches just as hard as anyone else in this business, so I imagine he is going to make this the biggest challenge that Justin Moreno has faced in a VERY long time. As Justin Moreno’s theme song fades under, the crowd waits, the anticipation growing. Josephina Colbert: And his opponent… standing at 5 foot 11, weighing in at 189 pounds… Stephen…. Rawlings!!! The lights dim again and “Champion” by Grinspoon starts up over the speakers. The fans get to their feet, starting to cheer, and out from the back walks Stephen Rawlings, facing downwards. After standing at the top of the ramp for a moment, Stephen Rawlings looks up, looking straight down towards Justin Moreno and he walks right down to the ring. Mark Perletta: And here comes the man considered to be the odds on favorite to win this match, Stephen Rawlings, looking more focused on this match than I have seen him in quite a long time. Landon Savage: Yeah, well he’d better be damn focused. He wasn’t focused enough going into his match at Advent Empire, and because of it he wasn’t able to bring home the World Championship. Mark Perletta: I think part of the reason why Rrawlings seems so focused in this match is because of that match you just mentioned. Rawlings knows he wasted an opportunity, and he wants to win this match to get another chance. Joey C: Justin Moreno is the big mystery coming into this match. Stephen Rawlings’ tshirt he’s wearing tonight explains his approach. He’s going to do everything he can to make sure he’s PERFECT, because he won’t be happy with himself, even if he gets a win, if he only does “good enough”. Getting to the bottom of the ramp after completely ignoring the fans, Rawlings walks up the steel steps and walks down half the length of the apron, his eyes still locked on Justin Moreno, and then he gets into the ring. Pacing back and forth, stretching his arms and neck, he never looks away from his opponent. The only time he looks away from Justin Moreno is when the referee walks to the middle of the ring and hoists a large trophy up into the air, displaying the prize that both men are fighting for. Stephen Rawlings glances at the trophy, nodding his head, and then looks right back over at Justin Moreno. Mark Perletta: Stephen Rawlings eyeing the prize, eyeing his competition, and is thinking about everything this match means. He looks like he wants to get this thing started and not wait any longer. Landon Savage: The referee is handing the trophy to the timekeeper, so he’s not going to have to wait any longer. Joey C: There’s the opening bell… and here goes Rawlings! Rawlings goes to work right away, running over and going right after Justin Moreno, not wasting a moment. Stephen nails Moreno with a series of forearms, backing him into the corner. Wrapping his arm around Justin’s head, Rawlings locks him into a side headlock, turning towards the center of the ring, and then after taking a few quick steps forwards, Rawlings takes Moreno down to the mat with a bulldog takedown. Keeping the hold locked on, Stephen pulls Justin back up to his feet, and then he turns and faces the center of the ring and AGAIN takes Moreno down to the mat with the bulldog takedown. Mark Perletta: Rolling bulldogs by Stephen Rawlings, and now it looks as though he’s going to go for a third one. Landon Savage: I wouldn’t do this if I were him… As Rawlings brings Moreno to his feet to go for a third one, Justin grabs the side waistband of Stephen’s wrestling tights. When Rawlings goes for the third bulldog, Moreno pulls back on the waistband and sticks out his knee, giving Rawlings something of an atomic drop. With Stephen letting go of the hold, this gives Moreno an opportunity and he fires in with a dropkick to the knee. Stephen fights and gets right back up off the mat, but Justin moves in and grabs the back of Rawlings’ shirt, which he had yet to remove, and pulls the back of it up and over his head, putting it just underneath Stephen’s chin. Mark Perletta: Prior to the match, Stephen Rawlings hadn’t taken off his shirt, and now Justin Moreno has used it in a hockey-fight type manner to momentarily blind his opponent! Joey C: Good thinking by Moreno! Kick his ass, kid! After sending a flurry of rights, lefts, and forearms into the face of Stephen Rawlings, Moreno turns around, grabs Stephen by the head and takes him over with a snapmare takedown. Capitalizing on the opportunity, Moreno turns and runs into the ropes, and on the rebound he NAILS Stephen in the back with a dropkick. Getting right back up, Moreno runs into the opposite ropes and on the return he nails Stephen in the chest with a dropkick, sending him down flat onto the mat from a sitting position. Landon Savage: Lightning quick dropkicks to a sitting Stephen Rawlings, I’m beginning to think that if he can keep up this pace and not let Stephen get that shirt off from over his face, this kid Moreno just might have a chance to win this match! Joey C: That would be one hell of a travesty. Dave Hawkins deserves better… though he deserves better than Stephen Rawlings, too. Mark Perletta: I have to disagree. There are a lot of similarities between the early parts of Dave Hawkins’ career and both of these competitors. Rolling over onto his stomach on the mat, Stephen gets up to one knee and pulls the shirt from off of his head. Coming right back in on the attack, Justin Moreno stands to the side of his opponent and then flips forwards, dropping his leg across the back of Stephen’s neck. As he tries to get up, though, Moreno finds his leg trapped, as Rawlings has wrapped both of his arms around Justin’s leg, tripping him him. Justin rolls to the side after pulling his leg away, and at that point both men get back to their feet. Mark Perletta: Now both individuals back to a vertical base. Landon Savage: Oh great, and here we go, back to square one all over again. Joey C: Would you look at this? Stephen Rawlings actually looks like he wants to go for a test of strength… and Justin looks like he might actually do it!? Putting his arms up to either side, Rawlings signals that he wants a test of strength. Looking at the outstretched hands, Moreno looks up at Rawlings to gauge his sincerity, and then he locks fingers. From the get go, Rawlings gets the advantage. Moreno tries to put up a fight, but Rawlings starts overpowering Justin, bending him backwards. As the fans around the arena start a slow clap, Moreno starts bending in the opposite direction, getting up. As Justin gets back to his vertical base, Rawlings switches it up and hops up onto Justin’s knees, then pulls backwards and goes for a monkey flip. Amazingly Moreno lands on his feet, not wasting any time before he turns and runs into the ropes. On the return Justin Moreno catches Rawlings just as he turns around, dropping him to the mat with a flipping clothesline! When Stephen Rawlings gets back up to his feet, Justin Moreno fires in with a kick to his opponent’s leg. From there Moreno tries a shot to Stephen’s ribs, but Rawlings blocks the attempt, grabs Moreno by the ankle and nails him in the knee with a hard elbow shot. Immediately thereafter Stephen turns and takes Moreno across his body and down to the mat with a dragon screw legwhip. Not letting go, Stephen gets back up to his feet, pulling Justin Moreno up after him, and then nails a SECOND dragon screw leg whip. Landon Savage: Interesting strategy by Rawlings, going right after that leg of Justin Moreno… and if he can do any serious damage, that would definitely slow Moreno down, stopping a majority of the offense he’s got! Mark Perletta: And now it looks like Rawlings is going to continue to focus in on that leg… I think he’s about to go for a Figure Four… Holding on to Justin’s leg, Rawlings spins around and bends Moreno’s leg at the knee around his, setting up for the Figure Four. As Rawlings bends over to pick up Stephen’s other leg, Moreno reaches up, grabs Stephen around the head and rolls it into a small package. A surprised referee slides into position and starts the count… ONE! TWO!! NO!! Rawlings forces himself out of the roll-up and gets up to his feet. As Justin tries to get up, Stephen grabs him by the arm and sends him into the ropes with an irish whip. On the return Justin leaps into the air, wrapping his legs around Stephen’s neck, then twisting around with a headscissors. Rawlings flips over and rolls out of the ring underneath the bottom rope. Mark Perletta: Stephen heads to the outside, whether it was by choice or whether the momentum from the headscissors forced him there, and now he’s getting the chance to slow down the momentum. Landon Savage: It doesn’t look like Moreno likes that idea! In the ring Justin Moreno runs over to the corner, hops up onto the top rope, then springs off, coming down to the outside and NAILING Stephen Rawlings with a missile dropkick! Moreno gets up off the ground pumping his fist for the cheering crowd, then he grabs Stephen by the head and rolls him into the ring underneath the bottom rope. After Justin follows him back into the ring, Rawlings gets picked back up to his feet by the wrist. Moreno goes for an irish whip attempt, but Rawlings shuffles his feet and reverses the attempt. On the return Moreno comes in and Rawlings drops his head, looking for a back body drop, but as Moreno flips over Stephen, he grabs Rawlings’ head, pulling it over with him into a falling neck breaker. Mark Perletta: What a great counter there by Justin Moreno… Joey C: A great counter? If that’s the case then why wasn’t he able to avoid hurting himself in the progress? Justin Moreno starts getting up off the mat, and as he makes it to his feet, he starts clutching his neck in pain, having done something to it during that last move. The break in action gives Rawlings a chance to work his way to a vertical base as well. When Justin sees that Stephen is up off the mat, he makes his way over towards him and goes for the lock up, but Rawlings nails him with a right hand before he gets the chance. Locking Moreno in, Stephen Rawlings hits a snap suplex. Just as he has done earlier in the match, Stephen follows up the move by not letting go of his opponent, working his way back up to his feet. Mark Perletta: Could Justin Moreno be in store for rolling snap suplexes? Joey C: I’ll tell you one thing, if Rawlings goes for a third one, he’d be an idiot. He didn’t make it past two on either of his other rolling “whatever” attempts… After hitting a SECOND snap suplex, Stephen Rawlings immediately grabs a hold of Moreno’s shoulder, rolls backwards, rolls to the side and puts Justin Moreno’s shoulders onto the mat into a pinfall attempt. The referee again slides into position to make the count. ONE!! TWO!! NO!! Landon Savage: Moreno shoulders out of the cradling pinfall attempt, and I think the surprise factor is what caused the two count on that one. Mark Perletta: Snap suplexes definitely aren’t a high impact move, but it was an honest attempt there by Rawlings. Fueled by the nearfall attempt, Justin Moreno makes his way back to his feet as quickly as he can. Rawlings gets there first and goes for a hard right hand, but Moreno blocks it, grabs into a position for an armdrag, but instead he just spins Stephen over, then hooks him around the neck and DROPS him with a reverse DDT. Sensing an opportunity, Justin Moreno heads out onto the apron and then makes his way to the top rope as quickly as he can, with Stephen Rawlings working his way up off the mat. As Moreno leaps off the top rope, however, Stephen Rawlings springs up off the mat and DRILLS him in the gut with a dropkick, knocking Moreno out of mid-air down onto the mat. Mark Perletta: Quick thinking from Stephen Rawlings to hit that dropkick, using gravity to his advantage to get the added impact. Getting up off the mat, Rawlings grabs Moreno by the leg and it appears he’s going to once again go for a submission hold. This time the setup looks similar to a sharpshooter, as Rawlings steps over and puts Justin’s foot up onto his thigh. Instead of hooking the other leg, though, Rawlings simply twists and drops down to his knee, wrenching the leg of Justin Moreno that he has been working on for part of the match. Not wanting to stay in the hold any longer, Justin reaches backwards and grabs onto the ropes. Landon Savage: Justin Moreno is damn lucky he was able to force the rope break, there, because he can’t really afford any more damage to that leg if he wants to keep his offensive potential at its maximum level. Keeping right in on the attack, Rawlings flips Moreno over onto his stomach, pulls back both of his arms and then forces him to his feet. From there Rawlings goes for a tiger suplex, but as he throws Moreno backwards, Justin is able to complete the backflip and land on his feet. Rawlings begins to get up from the mat to continue his offense, but before he is able to, Justin Moreno drills him in the face with a low dropkick. * * * * * * * Flash Forward - Later in the Match * * * * * * * With Stephen Rawlings on the mat, Justin Moreno grabs him by the leg and drags him closer to the side of the ring. From there, Moreno ducks underneath the top rope and gets out of the ring onto the apron. Grabbing the top rope, Justin starts to measure up his opponent, but Rawlings turns over and starts getting up. In a flash, Stephen grabs the middle rope and sends a shoulder into Justin’s gut, stopping him in his tracks. Getting up to his feet, Rawlings grabs Moreno by the head over the top rope. Joey C: What the hell is this idiot doing?! Mark Perletta: It appears as though Stephen Rawlings is about to bring Justin back into the ring the hard way… As Rawlings goes for a suplex, Moreno hooks his foot on the middle rope, blocking the attempt. Stephen tries again, but a second attempt is also blocked. From there, Moreno steps to the side partially and then drives his knee into Rawlings’ gut, then grabs him by the head and brings him over the top rope with a suplex of his own, dropping him down to the arena floor. Landon Savage: Well, that wasn’t the prettiest suplex I’ve ever seen… Mark Perletta: It didn’t have to be, because it was effective. With Stephen Rawlings on the ground, Justin Moreno gets back into the ring, soaking in the cheering ovation from the fans after the exciting move. Spotting the fact that Rawlings is trying to get to his feet on the outside, Moreno thinks for a second and then runs in the opposite direction. Hitting the ropes, Moreno comes back towards the side of the ring where Rawlings is and then he springs over the top rope. As he flies towards Rawlings, Moreno has his forearm out, nailing his opponent right in the head with it as Stephen gets to his feet. Mark Perletta: Nice high flying, high risk move there by Justin Moreno! Landon Savage: Yeah, but it looks like he paid for it, because Rawlings was able to turn it into something of a powerslam, even AFTER getting hit in the face with a forearm. Joey C: And now both of these idiots are laid out on the arena floor!! Slowly, Rawlings is the first of the two to get up, and he instinctively gets into the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope. After shaking the cobwebs, Rawlings notices Moreno slowly starting to stir on the outside, and so he slowly starts climbing the turnbuckles in the corner, the excitement amongst the crowd growing with the anticipation. Landon Savage: He’s taking too long… When he finally gets to the top rope, Stephen looks down and Justin Moreno is almost back up to his feet. Instead of jumping off into a high risk maneuver, Stephen starts to look like he’s going to get down and just wait back in the ring, but Justin Moreno, with a burst of energy, hops up onto the apron and shoves Rawlings backwards, sending him down into the ring before Moreno collapses back down onto the apron. Mark Perletta: Good thinking there by Justin Moreno to try to throw Rawlings off the top rope, but… Landon Savage: I don’t think that’s the main reason Rawlings went down! I think he jumped, and his landing… it was basically a forward roll!!! Joey C: Well Moreno didn’t see it go down, and… did Rawlings just sit up and look over at Justin Moreno and then lay back down again?! Moreno stirs on the apron and then gets back to his feet, seeing that Stephen Rawlings is still on his back in the middle of the ring. Sensing an opportunity, Justin climbs up to the top turnbuckle. Once there, he waits for a second, and seeing that Rawlings hasn’t moved at all, Moreno springs off, flipping and going for a 450 splash… BUT RAWLINGS MOVES!!! Stephen Rawlings moves out of the way at the very last moment and then gets right up to his feet. Taking Justin Moreno by the head, Rawlings locks him in, lifts him up and then hits THE FINISHING MOVE, a modified screwdriver. From there, Rawlings hooks both of Justin Moreno’s legs, rolling him up and signaling for the referee to hurry up and make the count. The ref slides into position… ONE! TWO!! THREE!!! Josephina Colbert: And the winner of the first inaugural Hawkins Memorial Tournament... Stephen... Rawlings!! Mark Perletta: Stephen Rawlings wins the match, he wins the trophy, and he does it by playing possum. Joey C: Oh, so you saw it too? Yeah, I thought it was brilliant. Justin Moreno took advantage of opportunities through all of his matches in this tournament to get to the finals, and now Stephen Rawlings proves that Karma IS a bitch by basically winning after taking advantage of an opportunity that HE created! Landon Savage: I hope you're all happy... Now Stephen Rawlings has a guaranteed World Title shot, and HE could be holding LEGACY's top strap. Final Thoughts
The camera heads backstage and we see LEGACY Road Agent Carter Franklin heading down a hallway and he stops at a door and quickly knocks. A voice apparently beckons him to come inside although at first we aren’t sure to whom the voice belongs. This changes quickly as Carter speaks. Carter: How are you doing Champ? The scene shifts and we see Greyson Blade sitting on a wooden bench clad in wrestling boots and blue jeans. His sits shirtless wrapping tape around his wrists, his championship belt sits on the bench beside him. He is still wearing a neck brace. For a moment, he doesn’t answer the question and sighs heavily, but he finally looks up at Carter. Greyson: Doesn’t matter how I’m doing Carter. I’m going out there to defend this championship here tonight either way... Carter looks at the Champion for a moment and in spite of his “doesn’t matter” response he can easily interpret these men after being on this job for some time. He knows Blade is in some serious pain, but when has pain ever stopped him before? Never. Carter: Well Champ, you are going to be up soon. I came back here to let you know they want you out at “gorilla” in just a few minutes. The Outlaw tears off the last piece of tape and slowly begins pulling on his trademark “The Outlaw” t-shirt. Greyson: Thanks Carter. I’ll be there. I promise. Just like I promised all of them… With that the door shuts to the locker room, and the scene heads back to ringside. World Championship
Match
Marcus Marion vs Greyson Blade (c) Mark Perletta: We’ve now seen all the matches to transpire tonight except for one. This match has been eight months in the making, and this feud, this rivalry between two of the premiere athletes in LEGACY has been even longer. Joey C: It's simple...it's Marcus Marion, and it's Greyson Blade. The Revolutionary vs. The Outlaw, for the right's to be called World Champion. Can you hear these idiots out there, Perletta? They're rioting like it's 91. Landon Savage: It's all up for grabs. But one thing I must mention is the condition of the World Champion, over the last couple of months, Nicholas Creed, Jake Blaine, and yes even Marcus Marion, have all attacked him like jackals at different points. You have got to wonder how wise it was for him to continue on with this match. But he did, and the time for small talk is over. Mark Perletta: How true. And tonight, either Blade leaves this building with the the World title still intact, or we witness a changing of the guard, as Marion becomes two-time World Champ. Josephina Colbert: Our next match is scheduled for one fall and is for the LEGACY World Championship!!! Introducing first, the challenger… The lights in the arena fade down as the buzz for the final contest significantly increases, and the LEGACY vision takes us down a short corridor where we see Susan and Nicole Rhodes, both standing outside of the dressing room of Marcus Marion. Nicole is seen sporting a pony-tail, with her blonde hair with some highlights. Her glasses hanging over the bridge of her nose, she looks into the camera's lenses, and waves. Her slender fingers, and she points down to show off a more relaxed outfit for her a black halter-top, and a pair of blue cut-off jean shorts. And odd choice, in lieu of this nasty weather we've been having. Susan stands a foot apart from her younger cousin, and is in a black evening gown accentuating the rest of her "look". The short black hair is still there, with the brooding mascara, and punctured ear lobes. Josephina Colbert: weighing in at 231 pounds… he is the TRUE REVOLUTIONARY… MARCUS… MARION!! There’s a huge chorus of booing that begins as Marion walks out of the dressing room, and he is seen wearing his orange polo shirt, his blonde spiked hair, and already a mic in his left hand, and it looks like he's ready to go. Marion starts his Green Mile down the hall, and the cousins soon follow suit. He grins from ear to ear. The music plays. The familiar tune of Set It Off is replaced by the aggressive, abrasive, tune of "Vote With a Bullet" by C.O.C. The camera's pan to the back area, and show Marion hiking the mic up to his lips the Rhodes' firmly behind him. Marion with a sickening grin on his face says... MARCUS MARION: This one's for you mom. Wherever you are. Probably buried under a hot bed of molten lava. With that said, Marion and The Rhodes' step out to face the booing masses. The fans unrelenting, Marion, with the steps of a rolling stone, speaks again. MARCUS MARION: In America today, there’s a hooker on every corner of every street, a frail looking gypsy looking to predict her future. Looking to find out how it's all going to end. Is it the needle? Or is it a nice slit of the wrist. The crowd boo's mercilessly, but it barely phases him as he continues. MARCUS MARION: In America today, there’s an anti-social anarchist who goes by the name "Blade" who represents the "people", but don't get too giddy yet, nobody ever accused any of you of being very bright. Because also in America, there’s a guy who's going to take back what rightfully belongs to him. His land. His first love. His LEGACY World Title! And I'm not going to do it with charm, or pretty boy good looks. No. I'm going to stage a public humiliation right there in that ring! With that, Marion and his cohorts hit the ring as they watch the light show go off. The crowd resumes its chant of... CROWD: SCREW YOU! SCREW YOU! SCREW YOU! Landon Savage: Would you listen to this crowd! I can barely hear my pager go off. It's just deafening in here. Mark Perletta: And Marion is just basking in the hatred. He's a sick individual. He's an evil human being. I wonder what Susan Rhodes must be thinking after her recent visit to Greyson Blade's hospital. And Nicole, she's been kind of a big part of this as well. Joey C: What else is she thinking? That Blade is a big, fat, compulsive liar. Like he lied about calling for help. Had Marion not been chased off, don't you think he would've had the M.D's on speed dial? After the hysteria has died down and the challenger is in the ring, Josephina Colbert gets back on the mic. Josephina Colbert: And his opponent… "Outlaw Torn" blares over the arena, and the arena goes beserk. The cameras pan to showcase some members in the audience wearing Greyson Blade regalia, shirts, foam fingers, the works. Looking at the entrance-way the crowd waits with anticipation of the World Champion. Mark Perletta: Where is Greyson Blade? He's never been one to duck a challenge, especially one as personal as this one. I haven't seen a World title fight in a long time, where the two participants hate each other as much as these two do. Landon Savage: You're right, where the hell is Blade? Joey C: (Groaning) Don't look now, here he comes. Oh.joy. Note the sarcasm. Josephina Colbert: Weighing in at 284 pounds… he is the LEGACY World Champion… he is The Outlaw… GREYYYYYYYSON BLADE!!! A few members in the audience move out of the way and almost scream their heads off as Blade emerges from the rear of the arena, just below the balcony, with his neck brace gripped around his neck, and the World title strapped around his waist. Tugged and pulled by die hard fans, Blade moves down the aisle, not wasting any time for fanfare. Mark Perletta: That neck brace is still on, so it's a no brainer that the injury to his neck is more serious than any of us could have ever imagined. But the bandage is gone, so that's a good sign. Landon Savage: Yeah, well, Blade is going to have to be extremely careful in the ring with Marion. Marion, if nothing else, is dangerous. The man has in-ring pyschology down to a science. If Blade is smart, he'll avoid any holds with place him on the ground, and that apply pressure to his neck. Joey C: Losers! Marion will have that brace off before the bell even rings! Marcus, take us home baby! With that, Blade stalks to the ring, as the fans pat him on the back and offer him words of encouragement. Every now and then he winces, but he does his best to keep his cool. Blade slides into the ring, and takes his title off, and Marion rolls to the outside playing it safe. He finally takes his polo shirt off takes a peek in the corner of his right eyes, tosses it behind his back, and it lands on the Robins twins who are dressed identically, as they tug on Marion's apparrel. Mark Perletta: I should’ve guessed that if he was going to give any of the fans something of his as a momento, it would have to be those two young groupies. Joey C: And why wouldn’t he pick them? They’re the best two fans a guy could hope for! The challenger slides back inside the ring where The Outlaw stands stoically, his eyes never leaving Marion, even has he hands the LEGACY World Title to the official, who holds it up before slipping it out of the ring to Josephina Colbert to deliver to the time keeper’s table. Marion is talking trash to the champion, and finally he rears back and slaps The Outlaw hard across the cheek. Again, Blade is unflinching, his gaze piercing, boring holes through the back of Marion’s skull as he looks out towards the crowd, then the bell rings. Marion turns around right into a thunderous right hand that drops him right to the canvas as the crowd pops in approval. Marion stands up but meets with a stinging left hand and The Outlaw tosses Marcus across the ring to the far turnbuckles. A moment later he charges in and crushes Marion with a big clothesline. Stunned, Marion is ripe for the picking and The Outlaw unleashes with a flurry of punches that have him almost falling out the buckles. Mark Perletta: Since that opening bell The Outlaw has been on FIRE, just beating the hell of Marcus Marion. Landon Savage: You don’t think that slap had anything to do with it? Blade has been rather cool in dealing with Marion in his promos, but you can’t tell he just doesn’t want to unload on him here tonight. Joey C: Give it time – Marion is just picking his spot to take Greyson down to the mat and start WRESTLING him. Mark Perletta: Wrestling him? This is a No DQ match … this isn’t just a match; it’s a fight! Look at Greyson now in the corner kicking away on Marion, and he’s just stomping him down in the corner, and listen to this crowd! Joey C: You never can count on the intelligence of the fans Perletta. Landon Savage: I know Marion is dangerous and I’ll agree he has the in-ring talent Joey, but cheering Marion? You can’t ask that of anyone. He’s a total prick. The Outlaw chokes Marion with his boot on his throat against the buckles, and he then pulls Marion into a standing position. He fires off a quick knee to double him over, and then he steps in on him and hooks the arm between the legs for the pumphandle. From there he heaves Marion up as if to go for a pumphandle drop, but instead of canvas, Marion is dropped right on the knee of the champion. Mark Perletta: Blade is going to work on the back and ribs, favorites of his to soften up his opponents for the Killshot. Joey C: That won’t mean much if Marion can get to that injured neck. If Blade is on the canvas that Killshot won’t do him a bit of good. Landon Savage: The Outlaw is resilient though Joey, and the last time
Marion’s resiliency was tested, Blade left Marion on his back
inside a steel cage. Mark Perletta: What a series of combinations by the Champion, and he’s over on Marion looking to make the cover and he does! ONE TW-NO! The challenger kicks out of the pin attempt, but if he can’t get his offense going this match is going isn’t going to last much longer. Joey C: Again you underestimate Marion … he’s got a game plan he’s just looking for Blade to make a mistake. Landon Savage: Well he hasn’t made a mistake yet Joey. To be honest for being in as bad of condition as he really has been, he’s fought brilliantly. His execution hasn’t been overly crisp, probably due to the neck but he’s getting the job done. Greyson pulls Marcus to his feet and delivers an elbow to the face followed up with the Irish whip, and on the rebound Blade heaves Marion up, catches him in the fireman’s carry and drops back, driving Marion into the canvas with the Outlaw Drop! The crowd explodes for the set up to the Killshot, but the crowd’s hope is short lived as its obvious something is wrong as Greyson is down on the canvas, clutching at his neck. Mark Perletta: Blade hits the Outlaw Drop but something is very, very wrong here as Blade and Marion are both down here in this LEGACY Title match up. Landon Savage: Greyson’s instinct betrayed him on that one Perletta. Natural set up to the Killshot but that move caught Blade’s neck coming down out of that fireman’s carry and may have hurt The Outlaw almost as much as it did the challenger. Joey C: And here is Marion’s opening … you knew Blade was going to have to make a mistake sooner or later. Greyson rolls up to his knees near the turnbuckles and tries using one arm to pull himself up on the ropes and the other clutches at his neck through the brace. Just as The Outlaw steadies himself a resurgent Marion strikes with a jarring uppercut. Blade’s, head backwards. Marcus fires off a hard chop and follows it up with two more before hooking the arm and taking the Champion back up and over with a vertical suplex, showing some strength from the significantly smaller challenger. Joey C: Now Marion’s going to go to work! Landon Savage: He caught his neck in there too Perletta, we said Marcus was dangerous, and he’s looking to show it right now. Marion waits as Greyson staggers back out of the buckles and he goes low, hitting a chop block and knocking Greyson off his feet. The Outlaw is in obvious pain as Marion leaps and drops a quick leg across the throat, causing a spasm to pass through Blade’s body. Marcus then pulls Greyson over to the ropes and lays him throat first across them. He gets a running start from one side of the ring to the other, and he leaps and drops his body across that of the Champion, crushing his throat against the ropes! Blade gags on the impact and rolls off clutching at his neck as Marion looks out to the crowd and points down to Blade as Nicole claps for Marion at ringside encouraging the fans to do the same, but they instead hurl insults and jeer the success of the challenger. Joey C: There’s no accounting for taste, gentlemen. Landon Savage: There’s no accounting for timing, either, Joey. We’re seeing what Marion can do with that ready-made weak spot. The last time these men fought Marion just couldn’t do enough damage to get the job done, and now with that already weakened neck, Marion just may just have to bide his time until Greyson gives out. Mark Perletta: Well Marion has a golden opportunity here, pun intended, and he’s bringing Greyson to a vertical base. There’s a hard chop and a second one and third, and an uppercut and a second to work that neck. Marion tries the Irish whip and there’s a reversal from the LEGACY World Champion. Marion on the rebound ducks a clothesline and Blade turns around into a boot to the gut and a spinning neckbreaker by the challenger! Joey C: With an injury like Greyson has suffered, basic moves like that neckbreaker become infinitely more effective and increasingly painful. Landon Savage: Marion has Greyson in a reverse chinlock, and it might be time to check for a submission. Mark Perletta: The referee is in asking Greyson if he wants to give up, but I just don’t see him giving up to a chinlock, no matter how effective that move is right now. Joey C: Of course you don’t Perletta, and look at it, with that brace Marion really can’t get that hold as tight as he normally would. That brace is giving Greyson an unfair advantage. Landon Savage: Normally I’d agree with you on that Joey, but after the hellacious assaults Blade has suffered over the past few months, including the one at the hands of Marion and Blaine, I’d say that brace is the reason we are even having a match right now. Marion shifts the angle of the hold so he can get his knee between the shoulder blades as well as pull back on the chin, torquing the neck and putting the champion in some severe pain. However, the longer the hold is applied, the more anxious the crowd becomes, with a “Blade” chant beginning to break out in the arena. It swells louder and louder, urging The Outlaw to shut out the pain and continue to fight, and soon the Outlaw is struggling. He gets his legs underneath him and pushes up, forcing Marion to turn the chinlock into a sleeper hold that halts the progress of the Champion. However, Blade will not be denied as he shifts and drives multiple elbows into Marion’s midsection. Finally, he’s battered his way free, and he hooks Marion by the waist and takes up and spins him down with a sky lift powerbomb. The Outlaw pushes himself to his feet and moves back towards the buckles, taking a breather to try and collect himself. Mark Perletta: The Outlaw bought himself some time with that move. Joey C: He’s just delaying the inevitable Perletta. Landon Savage: Let’s just see what Blade can do to take advantage of this possible change in momentum shall we? The Outlaw moves around Marion and as he stands, Blade is there to deliver a stinging right hand to the temple. He pulls Marion backwards and delivers a big spinning headlock elbow drop, driving his 290 pounds down into Marion’s chest. The Outlaw then pulls Marion up and pulls him up into an amazing military press position and from that position he drops Marion hard onto his shoulder and delivers a mammoth powerslam on Marcus dead center in the ring. He hooks the leg … Mark Perletta: The cover by The Outlaw! ONE TWO THR-NO! There’s a kickout by the challenger. Joey C: You think Marion’s had enough? No way Perletta … no way. Landon Savage: He may not have had enough Joey but he definitely can’t afford to be on the receiving end of too many more of those types of impact maneuvers. The Outlaw pulls Marcus up to his feet and tosses him hard into the turnbuckles, causing Marion to rebound out of his own control, and right to Blade who hooks the arms and takes him up and down with the double underhook backbreaker! On delivery, Marion bounces on the knee and rolls. Immediately Blade dives to make the cover. Mark Perletta: The Outlaw with the cover! He has Marion pinned! ONE TWO THREE! The Outlaw … son of a … Joey C: The referee is now signaling a two count to The Outlaw and these fans are livid! Landon Savage: Well they are livid because of the reason for the two count. Susan just went by the ropes and put Marion’s foot on the bottom rope to break up the count. Even though it’s a no DQ match, the rules of the ring like pins necessarily taking place in the ring and the foot needing to be away from the ropes still apply. The Outlaw looks in disgust out of the ring at Susan and shakes his head before turning his attentions back to Marion. The Outlaw stalks Marion and as he manages his feet, he sends Marion off with the Irish whip before catching him on the rebound with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! With Marion down, Blade moves backwards towards the buckles and the fans can feel it. It’s time to end this bitch. Mark Perletta: The Outlaw is stalking the challenger. He has Marcus Marion in his sights and if he hits the Killshot this one is all over Joey. Joey C: Marion has to have a reversal to that Perletta. He knows its in the arsenal and he has to have a reversal to it. Landon Savage: Sure … it’s called “get the hell out of the way” and if he doesn’t like Perletta said this one will be over. Marion has staggered to his feet but hasn’t quite turned towards Blade, and The Outlaw is about to charge when two arms wrap around his right leg. Nicole Rhodes, although a small girl, has wrapped Blade’s leg, and the fans are jeering due to this situation. Blade struggles for a moment, and finally he’s able to kick free, sending Nicole down on her ass. Unfortunately for Blade, Marion is up and he charges! Mark Perletta: Big clothesline from Marion and it sends Blade over the top rope to the arena floor, and here comes Marion. There’s a kick to the head from the challenger, and now he’s getting Greyson to his feet only to slam him face first into the apron and there’s an Irish whip to the barricade. Joey C: Watch him take apart the Champion. Watch him take The Outlaw and just humble him here. Landon Savage: The ring is hard enough without all these extra “environmental” weapons floating around here … ring apron, ring post, barricades. This is a virtual No Man’s Land in a no DQ match up. Marion kicks Blade in the chest against the barricade again and again, before pulling him to his feet, and hooking him. He turns and then drops, jarring Blade hard with a reverse neckbreaker. Quickly Marcus moves in on The Outlaw and proceeds to rip the neck brace from around Blade’s neck, tossing it angrily into the crowd as they begin a huge “asshole” chant directed at the challenger. Marion pulls Blade to his feet and delivers an upper cut that sends Blade right back down. It’s a strange sight to see the much smaller Marion floor Blade with one punch, but that’s exactly what happens. Marion stands over Blade with a victorious smile on his face. Marcus pulls Blade up and then sends him face first into the ring post. Blade collapses like a ton of bricks on impact, and we see a trickle of blood beginning to flow down the Champion’s face. Mark Perletta: Marion has draw first blood against The Champion here tonight and Blade looks to be in a very bad way on the outside here. Joey C: It’s only bad if you are a fan of The Outlaw. Landon Savage: Well it appears that we have an entire arena full of those tonight Joey. The Outlaw starts to crawl towards the barricade, hoping to use the structure to get himself to his feet, but alas Marion is on top of him almost immediately with foot to the side of the face. Quickly, Marion grabs the cables from the cameras and monitors leading to the announce table and wraps them around Blade’s neck, choking the life out of the LEGACY World Champion. Marion is down next to Blade for a while, cinching the hold tighter and tighter against that injured neck, and finally Marion backs off a bit only to put his foot in the middle of Blade’s back and pulling tight on the cords. It’s an almost surreal visual as Marion stands with a look of such delight in his eyes as blood streams down Blade’s face. The fans seeing this dire situation begin once more to try and rally their champion. The chants of “Blade” echo through the arena, building to an almost deafening level until a satisfied Marion releases the cables and stomps on the back of Blade’s head. Marcus pulls Greyson up and starts dragging him towards the ring, and then stopping by the ring steps and slams him head first off of the steel. Joey C: All he has to do is roll Blade inside the ring and finish this. You talked about it being over earlier in this match Mark, and if you could say it then you could say it now. Look at Blade bleeding all over the floor here. Mark Perletta: It does look bad for Blade I must admit Joey, but he’s still the LEGACY World Champion. He’s still been the champion here for nearing nine months, and you don’t do that anywhere without having some serious intestinal fortitude. Landon Savage: That is sure getting a work out tonight Perletta, and
it looks like Marcus has one hell of an idea here Perletta. Joey C: Do it Marion! Take him out! Landon Savage: He’s trying Joey but some how Blade is blocking the suplex! Blade does indeed block the suplex, and when Marion backs off to try and stun him before trying again, Greyson kicks him hard in the midsection and pulls him into a standing headscissors. A moment later the crowd explodes and Susan, Nicole, and the twins gasp in horror as Blade heaves Marion up and powerbombs him right on the ring steps! Mark Perletta: What a hellacious move Joey! Blade is showing some unbelievable strength and resolve here tonight. Joey C: No … I can’t believe it Perletta; Marion was so close to the LEGACY Title. Landon Savage: The Outlaw hit a huge move here but he’s sitting bleeding on the arena floor right now. I’m not sure he’s really in control here, and it could still be anyone’s match. Slowly, The Outlaw gets to his feet and peels Marion from the steel steps and rolls him inside the ring. Staggering, The Outlaw still manages to drag himself in the ring, and pull Marion up and hit a ribbreaker and drop him in the center of the ring. From there he looks at the turnbuckles, and he approaches and begins to climb. The twins shriek in the front row as The Outlaw looks at both Susan and Nicole warding them off with looks of death. Nicole and Susan begin waving, and Blade pays them no mind. A moment later The Outlaw hurtles through the air and drops the big elbow into Marion’s chest in the middle of the ring! Blade crawls over to Marion and drops the arm over his chest. He expects the referee to count the fall, but instead there is nothing. The Outlaw turns around to see Jake Blaine standing over the referee, wielding a steel chair. Before Greyson has a chance to do anything, Blaine hits him with some steel, dropping him to the canvas. Blade struggles to try and get up, but Blaine his there and he delivers a quick jab to the jaw, spinning Blade around for him to eat a second chair shot that sends him over the top rope to the arena floor. Mark Perletta: Blade is being robbed here tonight! He had Marion dead to rights in the center of the ring and here we have Jake Blaine saving Marion’s ass and assaulting a LEGACY official. Joey C: You can’t say he had him for certain Perletta, and it’s a no DQ match … this is perfectly legal in this context. Landon Savage: Legal, but definitely questionable Joey. Blaine is helping Marion to his feet here, and Blaine is shaking hands with Marcus, and Marion is sending Blaine to the outside to get him. Blaine leaves the ring, and as he does, The Outlaw stands and he kicks Blaine in the crotch! Having him doubled over, Blade takes Blaine’s own steel chair and brains him with it before DDTing him on the floor to the delight of the crowd. Just then, Blade tosses the steel chair inside the ring towards Marion, who looks quizzically out at Greyson before scooping up the chair. However, after a moment Marion understands Blade’s actions as The Outlaw reaches under the ring, and returns holding a sledgehammer. The fans roar in approval as the bloodied Champion points at Marion and begins walking up the ring steps with the weapon. Inside the ring he motions for Marion to bring it, and Marcus not being one to back down charges and takes a swing at Blade, who side steps it and slams the sledgehammer head into Marion’s ribs, causing him to drop the chair, and then drops him to the canvas with the sledge shot to the spine. The Outlaw then pulls Marion up and pulls him into a headscissors like he did before, eyeing up the steel chair. Mark Perletta: Blade is going to break Marion in half on that steel chair! Joey C: Marion will have an answer … you’ll see Perletta. Landon Savage: That answer seems to be in the form of Nicole Rhodes! She’s jumped on Blade’s back here in some kind of sleeper! Nicole is trying desperately to choke Blade, and he drops Marion as he focuses on Nicole and he’s finally able to grab her by the hair and sling her off of him and to the canvas. However, when Blade turns around, Marion meets him with the kick to the gut, and in a flash he hooks Greyson and slams him head first into the steel chair with the Evenflow DDT. The crowd gasps in horror as Blade’s head rocks off the steel and his neck is jarred. Blade lays motionless on the canvas as Marion rolls him over, and looking over to the referee sees that he’s somewhat conscious. Mark Perletta: The referee making the count here! ONE TWO THRE-NO! The Outlaw kicks out! Somehow Greyson Blade gets the shoulder up and Marcus Marion can’t believe it. Joey C: I know it can’t believe it Perletta. He should not be getting up after a move like that. Landon Savage: He’s got to be running on adrenaline now Joey,
pure adrenaline. Mark Perletta: Marion is choking out the Champion, and I’m not sure how much he has left in the tank even with all the adrenaline. Joey C: Marion is going to put Blade and that title reign to bed right now. Landon Savage: Well if he does these fans are not going to let it happen quietly. I’m not sure that I’ve ever heard a crowd react like this here in LEGACY before. They want Greyson Blade to beat Marcus Marion tonight. They want him to overcome all the odds. Mark Perletta: The Odds? He’s been fighting not just Marcus Marion but Jake Blaine, Nicole Rhodes, and Susan Rhodes. This has been a virtual 4 on 1 here in this match, but Blade is still fighting back! Look he’s back up to his feet and Marion … drops back into neckbreaker drop! Damn, Blade had it there for just a moment. Joey C: Marion wasn’t going to let him just escape for a second time. With that Marion heads for the turnbuckles, and he efficiently removes a turnbuckle pad from the top turnbuckle, and it looks as if Blade is in for some serious injury. Marion moves back to Blade and he tries to set up the Irish whip. However, Blade reverses the hold, and pulls Marion back into him and hooks him. A moment later he heaves Marion and brings him crashing to the canvas with a Rock Bottom. The fans erupt as Blade pushes off the canvas, bloody and just plain pissed off. He pulls Marion to his feet and Irish whips him to the corner, and Marion’s ribs his the exposed buckle with a loud crack. Blade charges in and splashes him in the corner, Marion’s head hitting the buckles. Blood begins gushing from Marion’s forehead as he slumps in the corner. Blade backs off of him … stalking his prey. Mark Perletta: Blade’s just waiting for Marion to leaves that corner! Marion staggering backwards… KILLSHOT! KILLSHOT! The crowd ROARS as Blade spears Marion with a sickening thud in the center of the ring, nearly breaking him in half. Blade rolls over on Marcus Marion as the referee drops! Mark Perletta: This one is OVER! The crowd is counting along with the referee! ONE TWO THREE-NO! Nicole Rhodes is in the ring and she jumps on Blade to break up the pin! Joey C: Again all perfectly legal! Landon Savage: Legal but I’m sure LEGACY is going to have something to say about this situation. Mark Perletta: This crowd is chanting “SLUT” at Nicole, and The Outlaw is up. Oh … Nicole … you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Blade approaches Nicole, shaking in anger as she backs into the turnbuckles. Nicole rears back and slaps Greyson across his bloody cheek, and with that slap, Blade looses it. With Marion still on the canvas, Greyson grabs Nicole by the hair and tosses her across the ring. She hits and lands and Blade stalks her. Nicole slowly tries to get up and as she does The Outlaw charges and delivers a massive Killshot to Nicole, crushing her on the canvas, spearing her literally out of her shoes. Joey C: Despicable! Blade just attacked a woman! Landon Savage: I don’t “like” it either Joey, but Nicole made herself a part of this match by constantly thwarting Blade and physically breaking up that pin and slapping him. Mark Perletta: She had it coming Joey, pure and simple! After the spear, Blade stands over Nicole in disgust, but before he can turn a standing Marcus Marion hits Blade in the back of the neck with one of Nicole’s heels! Blade groans in pain as the heel spikes him, and Marion pulls Blade up and proceeds to spike him on the canvas with the Revolutionary Thrill piledriver! Mark Perletta: Oh God no … it can’t end like this … not like this. Marion with the cover … ONE TWO THREE-NO! He kicks out! The Outlaw kicks out and Marcus Marion has LOST it! Joey C: What the hell just happened Perletta? What the hell just happened! Landon Savage: The Outlaw just kicked out! This is the gutsiest performance I’ve ever seen in LEGACY, maybe the gutsiest I’ve ever seen. The Outlaw is pushing himself to his feet and Marion is in shock. Marion grabbing the chair and … Blade with a body blow doubling Marion over! Mark Perlettta: SMALL PACKAGE ROLL UP! ONE TWO THREE-NO! Blade had him! He had him rolled up and Marion kicks out at the last possible second! Blade is the first one to his feet, and he tosses Marion to the buckles. Blade eyes him up, but Susan does as her now incapacitated sister and distracts the referee. Blade yells at the referee to pay attention and scares Susan off the apron. However, this was just what Marion needed as he pulls up a steel chair, and proceeds to slam it down into Blade’s forehead not once, not twice, but three times. He pulls Blade up and puts the chair on four legs and proceeds to hit a reverse DDT on the steel, collapsing the chair with Blade’s head. From there he pulls Blade up and delivers a second piledriver. Mark Perletta: The Outlaw is … done. That was just too much … it has to be too much. Joey C: He’s going to do it … Marion is going to take this match. Landon Savage: He’s moving in over Blade now and … he locks on a version of a camel clutch! Marion screams as he puts on the clutch, both men bleeding, and Blade tries to struggle, but you sense it’s the struggle of someone who’s not really all there. He flails about for a moment, but it’s not directed. His motions become weaker and weaker … as Marion’s confidence and smiles grow. He orders the referee to check Blade and ask for the submission. However, Blade refuses to submit. Marion pulls on the hold even tighter and again the referee asks, and this time there is no submission. Marcus demands he be asked a third time and this time there is no answer. Blade’s struggles have ceased, and as they do the referee checks the arm. Mark Perletta: They are checking the arm and this crowd is hushed … sensing what might be happening. The arm goes down … ONCE … TWICE … THREE TIMES! Joey C: And we have a new Champion! The bell rings and the referee signals that this match is over as The Outlaw has been KO’ed. Josephina Colbert tries to make her announcement, but only part of what is said can be heard over the wildly loud booing reaction from the fans. Marion releases the hold and slumps down to the mat very much exhausted. His face telling no tall tales, but an accurate visual of just what went on inside the ring. His face covered in his own blood, Marion makes no effort to wipe his blood, but lets it pour down the crevices of his body. Actually, he seems to enjoy it. Josephina Colbert: …winner… NEW… World… MARION!! Mark Perletta: He never gave up … Greyson Blade never gave up no matter the odds. He wouldn’t stop fighting and he wouldn’t give in to Marcus Marion. Joey C: Who cares! Marcus Marion is the LEGACY World Champion! Marcus Marion is once again King of the World! Landon Savage: He is the Champion alright Joey, but the question will be for how long … and how is LEGACY going to react to this win! This crowd is already shitting on this new champion. Landon is almost making an understatement as the crowd begins chanting “ASSHOLE” and trash begins flying into the center of the ring, pelting Marion. Nicole, shoe-less, and with her hair formerly in a pony-tail, is now frizzy and all over the place. She walks over to the time keepers bell, adjusts her glasses and snatches the World title from the announce table. Sliding into the ring, she looks at Marion and slings the World title over her suitor's right shoulder. Susan looks on with slight emotion, even cracking a long overdue smile. Huffing and puffing, Susan watches from the outside, while Marion tries to get to his feet. as he poses with the belt. Susan slides in the ring to join him, and she too meets the trash as Marion straps the belt around his waist in the midst of the broken bodies and carnage with Susan on the canvas, Blade laying motionless near her. Mark Perletta: Enjoy the title Marcus Marion, enjoy it while it lasts, because while you might be LEGACY World Champion you were not the better man tonight. The bell still continues to ring, loudly, aggressively, violently signifying the end of the match, almost as if a judge is trying to restore order to his courtroom. Nicole helps Marion get out of the ring, and slowly the two of them begin to make their way up the ramp, Nicole obviously helping Marcus stay up. As Susan tries to join them, however, Marion gives her a disapproving, disgusted look, and then continue on up the ramp without her. The parting shot of the event is of Marcus Marion standing atop the ramp, the belt over his shoulder, Nicole Rhodes at his side, and behind him on the LEGACY Vision jumbo tron, we see that Greyson Blade is still laid out in the ring. |
