Strife
12.28.2006

The LEGACY logo shows up on a black screen and it fades out as "Awake" by Godsmack starts to play, and clips from past shows fade in and out. We first see Diego de Cardenas hitting a high flying move, which is followed by one of the many high risk maneuvers by Loco Martinez hit during his match at ADVENT EMPIRE. We then see Stephen Rawlings taking down Katsuro Yoshida during one of their two matches, which is immediately followed by quick clips from the Marcus Marion / John Thomas match at the recent pay per view.

We then see a couple of fast paced clips involving Dan Stein hitting some flashy offensive maneuvers, ending with clips of him nailing both Herb Moxley and DJ Cassidy with chairs, then climbing up and grabbing the Tao of Valor Championship belt.

Fast clips follow including some with DJ Cassidy, then the Old School Kings, followed by a couple with Gryffin Anselm. Next is a clip of the Bushido Buntai, then a shot of Jimmy Smith leaping off the top rope for the UP ALL NIGHT, followed by a clip of Tim Jones lunging in to go for the SNAFU. Finally we see a shot of Greyson Blade hitting the KILLSHOT, followed by a parting shot of him hoisting the LEGACY World Title over his head as he stands atop the entrance ramp.

TONIGHT'S LINEUP

The show opens on a shot of Mark Perletta, Landon Savage and Joey C sitting behind a desk that resembles what you would see anchors sit behind in the studio of a sports news program such as Sports Center. Behind them is an elaborate backdrop which includes several flatscreen monitors, each of them showing the same view we're seeing right now of the recap trio. As the camera zooms in, the screens fade into a shot of the yellow golden LEGACY logo.

Mark Perletta: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome again to another edition of STRIFE. I'm Mark Perletta, as always alongside my broadcast partners Joey C and Landon Savage, this... is LEGACY.

Landon Savage: And what a different feel we have this week. Nicholas Creed has been indefinitely suspended, Herb Moxley is on the shelf, and the man who put him there, Dan Stein, is the new Tao of Valor Champion.

Mark Perletta: Due to his actions at the end of that match, Dan Stein has been suspended for tonight's program, so there will not be a title defense of his Tao of Valor Championship on this show.

Joey C: On our show tonight we've got two matches which are apparently "try-out" matches, involving three individuals who have never been in LEGACY matches before - Ronald Bailey, Gigantus Awesomo, and Patrick "Racin'" Reynolds.

Landon Savage: It should be considered a "put up or shut up" match for Jimmy Smith, because if the former Intercontinental Champion can't beat a guy who's never stepped in the ring before... then maybe he's the one who doesn't deserve a roster spot.

Mark Perletta: I'm sure the front office might take that into consideration, but there's also a match on tonight's show involving two men whose roster spots are fairly solidified despite their lack of recent success, as "The All Star" James Win steps between the ropes to face Osamu Hayashi.

Joey C: Let's not forget about the main event, the first of two semi-final matches for the Hawkins Memorial Tournament, as Stephen Rawlings and Diego de Cardenas look to move on to the finals.

Landon Savage: Well at the start of the show, Stephen Rawlings decided to come out and make his thoughts known regarding the Hawkins Memorial Tournament, and what he had to say didn't exactly sit well with everyone.

A Top Seeded Semi-Finalist

"Champion" by Grinspoon blares throughout the arena and Stephen Rawlings marches to the ring with a mic in his hand. After hopping up onto the ring apron quite nimbly, he ducks in under the bottom rope. Instead of going to the corner to climb up to the middle turnbuckle to accept the cheers, he simply goes to the middle of the ring. Tired of waiting, he holds up his arms and quiets down the cheering crowd, and then begins to speak.

Stephen Rawlings: Ladies and gentlemen... Boys and Girls, Rawlings fans of all ages.. I stand out here tonight NOT as a wrestler... NOT as the future world champion... No... I am out here tonight, just as a fan. I mean, you might think it's impossible for me to be a fan, but you can't be a professional wrestler if you don't enjoy what is right in front of you.

The crowd stirs, anxious to see where he is going with this.

Stephen Rawlings: As a fan, I have a complaint... And this complaint is to Rob Belote, or Smith Cartwright, or to whoever the fuck else is in charge of this pathetic excuse for wrestling entertainment... WHY THE HECK aren't there REAL wrestlers in the Hawkins Cup Tournament?

Rawlings stands there and pauses for a moment, as if he’s waiting for an answer.

Stephen Rawlings: How the hell can you throw one great wrestler, 2 decent wrestlers, and 11 wrestlers I've never even heard of and expect it to be a legitimate tournament? How the hell is that even classified as entertainment? We fans… we are not enjoying this. And how can we? There's no excitement... No thrill... No real surprises. I mean... Take my match last week for example...

Rawlings stops and the look on his face changes.

Stephen Rawlings: My bad... That wasn't a match... That was... was crap. I don't even think that poor son of a bitch even got a hit in on me. That's not entertaining. It wasn't even fun to wrestle in it since it wasn’t really a challenge. Knowing that... How does that make this tournament fair? How can we even let these people at a shot for the title? Have they ever done anything to show any of us fans they are deservant of a shot like that? You throw 13 mediocre people in a tournament and your gonna get 11 boring matches... If we wanted ratings, why didn't we do something like... 14 great wrestlers, and have 11 great matches... Putting two mediocre people in a match with equal talent, isn't gonna make a match anything to watch... All it does is bore us... Bore us to the point where I don't even wanna wrestle anymore. I want my fans to enjoy what they see..

The fans cheer....

Stephen Rawlings: But how can they enjoy this? How they enjoy me running through the competition without even breaking a sweat... It's unfair to everyone. Therefore, I suggest we end this is trivial, stupid tournament before we lose our fans, and bring in some real action. Let me at Greyson now. God knows we are giving him anyone interesting to wrestle. Because instead of Legacy STRIFE, someone in the front office decided to change the name to Legacy Boredom... FUCKING MAKE THINGS interesting.

Rawlings pauses a moment.

Stephen Rawlings: Me wrestling in this match tonight is not gonna do anything.... It doesn't matter who I end up wrestling in the finals... None of it matters, because none of it means anything. It's all a bunch of rubbish, just filler matches before I get my next shot at Greyson after I win this tournament. Do we need to see me decimate two more people? Does that really prove that I'm ready for another Title shot? Im ready now... By the end of this tournament I'll have done absolutely nothing significant to prove anything more, so what's the point? Bring on Moreno.. Bring on Dominion.. It'll be the same thing either way we go.. So Rob Belote... Come out here now...

The camera zooms in on Rawlings.

Stephen Rawlings: COME OUT HERE... and cancel this tournament. Come out here and acknowledge your horrible mistake. Come out here and apologize for waisting my time...

He drops the mic to his side and waits... After a few moments he brings the mic to his mouth again...

Rawlings: You wanna continue making a mockery of this sport... Fine... I'm going to wrestle my match tonight, with my hands tied behind my back. When I win, maybe THEN Belote will come out here and apologize to everyone here tonight, For the sake of the future of wrestling entertainment, I hope I'm right.

He drops the mic and starts to walk towards the apron to leave, but then suddenly instead of “Champion” playing over the speakers, traditional Mexican music starts to play and out from the back, mic in hand and Hannah Perez at his side, walks Diego de Cardenas. You can tell that Diego is angry, and Rawlings isn’t too pleased with what Rawlings just said. The music fades under and Diego stands there for a moment before he begins speaking, and the fans are wild with anticipation.

Diego de Cardenas – Stephen Rawlings, since you didn’t mention my name in that stupid little tirade you just made, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Diego de Cardenas. I’m your opponent in tonight’s main event. I’m the guy who’s going to be kicking your pathetic arrogant little ass all around that ring you’re standing in… and then I’m going to make you eat those words you just said.

Rawlings raises the mic to respond, but Diego keeps going.

Diego de Cardenas – You’re just like all the other gringos backstage and in the crowd who continue to underestimate me week after week after week. I decimated your boy John Thomas the round before this just like Dan Stein decimated your boy Herbie Jay Moxley, the only difference being that I killed Johnny’s ego, whereas Stein put Mox on the shelf permanently!

Stephen again tries to say something, but Diego cuts him off again.

Diego de Cardenas – SHUT IT WHITE BOY, NOBODY GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO SPEAK! I DIDN’T SEE YOU RAISE YOUR HAND!! Until that happens, my boy Pedro backstage at the sound control board, he’s still got your mic cut!! If you’re going to TALK like a BITCH and ACT like a BITCH then THAT’S how I’m going to TREAT YOU!!! You don’t think this tournament has any talent? You think you’ve got a free ride to a victory in the finals and a guaranteed shot at the World Title all shined up and waiting for you?! Tonight you see what REAL international competition is all about! You get a lesson first hand at what people in the U.K., Germany, Mexico, Japan, and all the rest of this world has already learned… that Diego de Cardenas means BUSINESS!!

Diego takes the mic and throws it, sending it into the ring a couple of feet from where Stephen Rawlings is standing. The traditional Mexican music kicks back in and Diego walks backwards through the curtain, Hannah following behind him. The camera then switches back to a shot in the ring and Rawlings is thoroughly pissed off. We then switch back to a shot of the broadcast trio from the recap studio.

Landon Savage: Anyone else notice that Stephen Rawlings seems to be protesting a bit too much? One of two things is true: either Stephen Rawlings hasn't been doing his homework and doesn't know how good his opponents potentially could be, or he's trying to convince himself as well as the rest of us that he's at a different tier than Jake Dominion, Justin Moreno, and his opponent tonight - Diego de Cardenas.

Joey C: I know we need to move on to our next match, but I need to make a few points. First, Stephen Rawlings is NOT any better than Jake Dominion. Stephen Rawlings IS better than Justin Moreno, and based on what I've seen from him lately, Diego de Cardenas is going to put up a good fight.

Mark Perletta: Take this as what you will, Stephen Rawlings was given the option of having his semi-final match happen first or let Jake Dominion go first, and Stephen Rawlings decided to have his match happen on this show. Having been around Rawlings for a while, I know how much he likes to prepare for his matches, so he undoubtedly picked to have his match first so he can sit around and watch the match between Jake Dominion and Justin Moreno to scout his finals opponent.

Landon Savage: Slow up a second, there, Perletta, he still has to get past Diego de Cardenas, who seems to be tired of hearing from Stephen Rawlings... and how funny was it that he had one of his friends cut Rawlings' mic in our opening segment? Classic stuff. Let's move on.

Patrick Reynolds vs Jimmy Smith

Mark Perletta: Our first match of the night was the debut of "Racing" Patrick Reynolds, and his opponent for tonight was Jimmy Smith.

Joey C: You mean former SWA Intercontinental Champion "Big Jimmy".

Landon Savage: Yeah, that's who he means, but so far in LEGACY Jimmy Smith hasn't done anything worthy of making people care to remember his name. Sure, he might've won a title or two in his past, but those title reigns were a while back, but all that matters in this business is what you've done lately.

Mark Perletta: Patrick Reynolds in the first match of career, no one knew what to expect of him tonight.

Joey C: Well if anyone was expecting technical wrestling from him or luchador high-flying moves from Reynolds, they were no doubt very disappointed.

Landon Savage: They'd also be very disappointed if they were expecting Jimmy Smith to just roll over and play dead against this new-comer, because he did quite the opposite.

Mark Perletta: One of the best showings Jimmy Smith has ever had here in LEGACY, he looked like a different man inside that ring tonight.

Landon Savage: As much as I wanted to write Reynolds off as just being a no talent, NASCAR watching redneck, the guy can fight, and he took this one right down to the end against Jimmy Smith.

Start : Footage from the Match

Rebounding off the ropes, Jimmy Smith comes right at a dazed Reynolds and goes for a clothesline, but Patrick ducks underneath it at the last moment, and as Jimmy turns around he's nailed with a hard right from Reynolds. Then another. Then a quick left followed up by a make-shift clothesline that takes Jimmy Smith down to the mat. Big Jimmy gets up off the mat as quickly as possible, but Reynolds clotheslines him down to the mat again.

Mark Perletta: Reynolds in on the attack....

Joey C: Those clotheslines aren't pretty, but they sure are effective!

This time when Jimmy gets up, he's able to duck underneath another clothesline attempt, and then he nails a right hand of his own. When he goes for another one, Reynolds blocks it and sends Jimmy back a step with another right hand. Seeing an opportunity, Patrick Reynolds dives in to try to tackle Jimmy Smith at his knees, but Jimmy takes a step back and blocks the attempt. He then quickly hits a double axhandle to the back of Reynolds, slowing down his attack. He then hits another double axhandle, and then hooks Reynolds into a standing head-scissors and then lifts his hands into the air.

Mark Perletta: Big Jimmy setting up, it looks like he's going to try to finish him off.

Landon Savage: We might get to see the Big Bomb...

Putting his arms down around Reynolds' ribs, Jimmy Smith hoists his opponent up off the mat, lifts him high above his head and then SLAMS him down onto the mat. Dropping down to his knees, Jimmy Smith lifts his arms into the air to signify victory, and he then lazily puts an arm across the chest of Racin' Reynolds.

ONE...

TWO...

NO!!

Mark Perletta: Patrick Reynolds gets a shoulder up just before the referee was to make the third count, and he stays in this match!

Landon Savage: He may have avoided the three-count, but it doesn't seem like he's necessarily going to be getting up anytime soon.

Angered by not getting the win, Jimmy Smith yells something at the referee and then stomps down a few times on Patrick Reynolds, keeping him on the mat. Big Jimmy then immediately goes out onto the apron and climbs up to the top turnbuckle. Not wasting another moment of time, he flies off the rope with his UP ALL NIGHT flying elbow drop, landing it right down onto the chest of Reynolds. He then reaches over, hooks the leg, and goes for another pinfall attempt.

ONE...

TWO...

THREE.

Josephina Colbert: And your winner as a reult of a PINFALL... Jimmy Smith!

Mark Perletta: Jimmy Smith picking up the victory, but he had to put in a little more effort than he originally thought.

Joey C: I was surprised to see Reynolds get a shoulder up after being hit with the Big Bomb powerbomb, but I guess he's one tough redneck.

Landon Savage: I don't know that this guy is going to be winning any championships anytime soon, but he is a tough guy, and if he can put together something of an offensive arsenal, some moves that he's comfortable with, he could be dangerous.

Mark Perletta: He is a member of the roster, so that means that someone in talent scouting saw something in him. But up next, we heard from one of the top seeds in the Hawkins Memorial Tournament to start the show, but a couple of days ago the other top seed sat down with Smith Cartwright for an interview.

Another Top Seed Semi-Finalist Speaks

We open on a scene in a non-descript room, a black curtain hanging over the walls, a LEGACY logo on the wall between Jake Dominion and Smith Cartwright, who are sitting in chairs facing each other about 5 feet away, an interview taking place between the front office representative and one of the top seeds in the Hawkins Memorial Tournament.

Smith Cartwright: Jake Dominion, since you showed up in LEGACY, you've been involved mainly in tag team championship pursuits, able to capture the World Tag Team Championship belts, but as of your win at the SuperCard, you find yourself in the second round of the Hawkins Memorial Tournament, one step closer to getting a World Title shot. What would it mean to you to have a shot at once again becoming a World Champion in this business?

Jake Dominion: Smith, it means the World. It's what each and every superstar strives to become and what each superstar who has held a World Title before wants to become again. It shows that you're the very best, the pinnacle, the elite. As much as I love teaming with my boy Eric, tasting World Championship gold once again would be like indulging in a fine wine. It's something that everybody strives for, and although I mentioned when I made my debut here in LEGACY that it wasn't about the titles, who's going to turn down the chance at becoming World Champion? Nobody... Hard work and dedication brings you closer to success, and advancing in this tournament has brought me one step closer in capturing the World Championship here in LEGACY.

Cartwright finishes writing something down, and then he looks up from his notebook.

Smith Cartwright: It’s bound to happen, one of these days you’re going to get a shot at the LEGACY World Championship Belt, whether it’s through this tournament or through other means. The current holder of the belt is Greyson Blade, who just defeated Nicholas Creed at the SuperCard. There are plenty of people on the roster who potentially could have Championship matches coming up. Does it matter to you who has the title when you challenge for it? Is there anyone in particular who you think you’d like to face with the belt on the line?

Dominion shakes his head "no".

Jake Dominion: It doesn't matter who it is Smith. I really don't care, name anyone on the roster and I'd face-off against them. If Greyson Blade is still champ, I've never faced him before and I feel we'd have a killer match. Also Marcus Marion would be an interesting match up, as I've also never stepped in the ring with him and would be a pleasure, although the fans seem to hate both our guts which would make it even more interesting. Even my partner Eric Wolfson, who I feel got shafted by not being in this tourney despite not only being a former World Champ, but also having beaten Dave Hawkins before. Wolfson and I would have a killer match, cause what's better than two Old School Kings squaring off?

Jake Dominion flashes a cocky smirk.

Smith Cartwright: On the upcoming edition of STRIFE, we get the first of the two semi-final matches of the tournament with a match between Stephen Rawlings and Diego de Cardenas. Which of these two do you predict to make it to the finals?

Jake Dominion: Well of course I'd wanna face Stevie for his comments weeks back, but to stick to what I said about him not making it to the finals, my prediction would be Diego. Although I hope for his sake his new chica Hannah continues to be more of a help than a hinderance...

After glancing down at his notebook, Smith looks back up at his interviewee.

Smith Cartwright: Your next match, the second semi-finals, pits you against Justin Moreno. How much research have you been able to do on him?

Jake Dominion: To tell you the truth Smith, I haven't done any at all. I barely recognize the name Justin Moreno, and all I know is that he hates Marcus Marion and that he's a "face", so I assume the crowd will be pulling for him... and that's just fine with me. So to answer your question Smith, no I haven't done any preparation and nor do I plan on it either.

Smith Cartwright: And you don’t think that a lack of the necessary preparation might cause you to lose this match? It’s already happened to you once so far in LEGACY, but this time a chance to fight for the World Title is at stake.

Jake Dominion: Please, Smith, the Moxley upset was a fluke and EVERYONE knows it. On any given day, anyone can be victorious, so Moxley had his day and he paid for it at Advent Empire. But enough about that, back to the topic at hand. Moreno's been EXTREMELY lucky in his last two matches. He got a lucky win against Loco, who happened to twist his ankle, and he got a lucky win against DJ Cassidy, though honestly I don't really consider DJ Cassidy very talented, especially after his performance at ADVENT EMPIRE. The match between Cassidy and Moreno was probably just a case of "which blind squirrel finds a nut first". And besides, I don't think I'll have a problem beating Moreno especially since Gryffin Anselm and James Win have both been banned from being anywhere near ringside

Dominion flashes yet another cocky smirk.

Smith Cartwright: It was decided by the front office this past week that Gryffin Anselm and James Win have both been banned from ringside for your match against Justin Moreno due to what happened at the Super Card, with the front office not wanting any interference in any matches in the Hawkins Memorial Tournament.

Jake Dominion: Yeah they figured it was a good idea with Anselm & Win costing Eric the chance at the No Limits title. It gives myself and Moreno an even playing field which wont be a problem for me securing the victory one-on-one.

Pre-Match "Preparations"

The camera cuts backstage where we see an African American man walking down the halls, his fists and wrists taped up, no shirt on, wearing a pair of baggy red shorts that go down to his knees. In one hand he has an mp3 player, headphone wires going up to each of his ears. Nodding his head a bit, he’s obviously enjoying the music. LEGACY intern Avery spots him and walks up to him, getting his attention, causing the man to pull the headphones out of his ears.

Avery: Ronald Bailey, how does it feel to be heading for the ring for your first match here in LEGACY?

The man simply shrugs.

Ronald Bailey: It’s aight, I’m not sweatin’ it at all, to be honest. I’ve been in tons of fights in my life, some of them professionally sanctioned, some of them not. I tend to do well enough that I don’t feel the need to really worry much about whether I’m going to be able to get the job done.

Avery: How did you go about preparing for your opponent, especially since virtually nothing is known of Gigantus Awesomo by anyone aside from whoever in the front office decided to give him a contract.

Bailey looks confused.

Ronald Bailey: Who?

Avery: To be honest I’m not sure which front office member…

Bailey interrupts.

Ronald Bailey: No no, not the front office guy. Who’s that Giant guy you mentioned?

The intern looks confused.

Avery: You mean your opponent for tonight?

Ronald Bailey: Yeah. So no one really knows much about him, right?

Avery: That’s right.

Ronald Bailey: Ha, well after tonight, it won’t matter anyway, he can just fade back into anonymity like all the other nameless, faceless chumps I’ve put down.

After putting his headphones back on, Ronald Bailey grins and walks off towards the ring.

Old Rivalries

The camera cuts elsewhere backstage where we find Gryffin Anselm and James Win walking along, talking about something we're not privvy to, and the two are so engrossed in conversation that they don't even notice as they bump into someone walking in the opposite direction. Walking a few more feet, Gryffin realizes something and then turns around, and calls out to the person who he bumped into.

Gryffin Anselm: What, not going to flip out on me, Thomas?

His identity covered up by his hooded sweatshirt, John Thomas couldn't get past his former trainer completely unnoticed. John turns around and drops his hood and looks at Anselm.

Gryffin Anselm: I'm surprised. You've been snapping at people lately, and with all the history we have with one another, I figured that accidentally bumping into you like that, I figured I was next to get a few words from Angry Johnny.

John shrugs.

John Thomas: It's been a while, and people keep telling me that I need to just let some things drop, and since I can't let everything drop, I may as well let some things go, right?

A little taken aback, Anselm decides to go with it.

Gryffin Anselm: Wouldn't want your head to explode.

Anselm grins, then turns and walks off, John doing the same.

Ronald Bailey vs Gigantus Awesomo

Mark Perletta: Unlike our first match of the night where fans were somewhat familiar with one of our competitors, our second match featured two men who we've never seen before in the ring, and only heard from once before this match.

Joey C: So basically all we knew about Gigantus Awesomo prior to this match was that he's some sort of over-sized luchador kinda like a Nacho Libre.

Mark Perletta: Or he at least looked like a luchador, but as we saw during this match, he fights nothing like the luchador style.

Joey C: No he doesn't, going more for a hardcore style of offense. His opponent, on the other hand, seemed to go for more of a mixed martial arts style of fighting.

Landon Savage: Before this match we saw an interview with Ronald Bailey where he basically didn't seem to know or care who his opponent in tonight's match was. Based on his skill level, he might be able to get past a lot of people without doing much specific preparation before getting into the ring.

Mark Perletta: I personally don't think that's a very good strategy, but I will admit that Ronald Bailey does appear to be quite skilled at not only striking, but also takedowns and submission.

Landon Savage: Too bad for Bailey he was dealing with a very tough man in Awesomo, though since no one really knows where Awesomo is from, there wasn't really any preparing that Bailey could've done.

Mark Perletta: On the other hand there's only a little bit of footage that Awesomo could have studied on Bailey, and those were all MMA competitions. How did they both fare? It came down to the final moments of the match.

Start : Footage from the Match

Taking Ronald Bailey by the arm, Gigantus Awesomo irish whips him hard into the corner. Bailey hits hard back first and Gigantus follows him in for a full body splash, but Ronald spins out of the way at the last second and Awesomo hits hard chest first. As Gigantus turns around he's met with a hard roundhouse kick to the ribs from Bailey, who then spins and hits a back thrust kick to Awesomo's chest, dropping him down to his knees. Ronald Baily then pivots and nails his opponent in the head with a well placed knee, dropping Awesomo down to the mat.

Mark Perletta: The striking we're seeing here from Ronald Baily is definitely very different than what we saw from Patrick Reynolds in our first match of the night, Bailey hitting with some very well placed and well timed shots.

Landon Savage: Some very nice, crisp kicks he got in there on Awesomo.

Joey C: As far as offensive maneuvers go, the style that Awesomo has been using is a little more technical, but not by much.

Landon Savage: Gigantus has used a couple of irish whips and some slams, nothing TOO technical.

Mark Perletta: Well he's on the mat now, and if he wants to get back into this match, he's going to have to do something, because Ronald Bailey is in control, and he knows it.

Joey C: Look how proud of himself Bailey is, playing it up to the half of the crowd who seems to be cheering for him.

As Gigantus Awesomo starts to get up off the mat, Bailey steps back and watches him struggle, seemingly getting a measure of enjoyment from it. When Awesomo gets all the way to his vertical base, Bailey steps in and lazily throws in a kick, but Gigantus blocks it and then sends a hard forearm shot that knocks Ronald backwards a few steps and spins him around. Awesomo nails Ronald in the back a couple times with axhandles, dropping him down to a knee.

Mark Perletta: Huge clubbing blows there by Awesomo, and I think he just changed the momentum of the match completely.

Joey C: A ton of power in each one of them, and he's not done just yet!

Before Ronald Baily can even start to get to his feet, Gigantus Awesomo lifts him up to his feet, grabs him around his head and bends him backwards into a reverse DDT position. Putting his hand on Bailey's back, Awesomo lifts his opponent up off the mat, almost putting him onto his shoulder, and then Gigantus pivots around and SLAMS Ronald down into the mat, and then hooks the leg and goes for the pinfall.

ONE...

TWO...

THREE.

Josephina Colbert: And your winner as a reult of a PINFALL... Gigantus Awesomo!!!

Mark Perletta: In his first match here in LEGACY, Gigantus Awesomo picks up a win, hitting that huge Reverse DDT suplex slam, and in the process giving Ronald Bailey a loss in HIS first match in LEGACY.

Joey C: Ronald Bailey should have won this match. He had been tearing into Awesomo with huge kicks and strikes all match, and really it was there near the end when Bailey was working the crowd a little bit that he didn't take advantage of the opportunity. He had Awesomo down, he let him back up, and then followed it up with what looked like a rather weak kick.

Landon Savage: There's a big difference in competing in MMA and competing in wrestling. It seems to me like Ronald Bailey got a bit caught up with trying to entertain the crowd instead of trying to just get the victory.

Mark Perletta: He also seemed a bit too cocky about his chances of winning the match, but I'm betting that doesn't happen a second time.

Building an Empire and Legacies...

Things switch back from the recap position over to a shot of the arena where Smith Cartwright is standing in the ring with a small notepad in one hand and a microphone in the other.

Smith Cartwright: Another year has come and gone, and LEGACY had a great first 9 months in business. Although it wasn't a full year of action, there have been some great matches, fantastic shows, and plenty of excitement. That said, we want to honor 2006 with a set of awards to be voted upon by you the fans, the employees of LEGACY to include both the production staff, the front office, and the great roster.

The fans start clapping and then Smith Continues.

Smith Cartwright: The front office wanted me to take a moment to announce the nominees in each of the categories for the 2006 End of Year Awards.

As he announces each of the categories and nominees, they are shown on the LEGACY Vision jumbotron.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Wrestler of the Year, the nominees are: Nicholas Creed. Herb Moxley. Greyson Blade. Marcus Marion. Stephen Rawlings. And Dan Stein.

As they hear the name of Dan Stein, a lot of the fans boo.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Match of the Year, the nominees are: Greyson Blade vs Marcus Marion at Rise of the Elite. The Three-Way Elimination Match for the World Title at Advent Empire. The Tag Team Title Match following Rise of the Elite between the Disorderly Youth and the Revenge of the Nerds. The Triangle Match for the No Limit Title at Advent Empire. The Tao of Valor Match between Herb Moxley and Dan Stein at the SuperCard STRIFE 12. And finally, the grudge match between Marcus Marion and John Thomas at Advent Empire.

Pausing for a moment, Smith then continues.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Event of the Year, the nominees are: The inaugural LEGACY Tour Shockwave. Rise of the Elite. STRIFE 6. STRIFE 7. Advent Empire. And finally, the SuperCard STRIFE 12. In the category of Breakout Star of the Year, the nominees are: Nicholas Creed. Marcus Marion. Dan Stein. Stephen Rawlings. And Herb Moxley.

A show of support rumbles through the crowd for Herb Moxley, and after allowing that to sound, Smith continues.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Feud of the Year, the nominees are: Marcus Marion vs Greyson Blade. Stephen Rawlings vs Dan Stein. The Old School Kings vs The Revenge of the Nerds. Marcus Marion vs John Thomas. And finally, Dan Stein vs Herb Moxley. In the category of Best Face, the nominees are: Herb Moxley, Greyson Blade, Loco Martinez, Justin Moreno, DJ Cassidy, and John Thomas.

The fans give a mixed reaction over the last nominee, and Cartwright takes the opportunity to look at his notebook.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Best Heel, the nominees are: Nicholas Creed. Cian Randal. Gryffin Anselm. Dan Stein. And finally, Marcus Marion. In the category of which wrestler gives the Best Interviews, the nominees are: Jake Dominion, Gryffin Anselm, Greyson Blade, Herb Moxley, Dan Stein, and Marcus Marion.

Cartwright takes a moment and looks down at his notebook, then looks up again.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Best Tag Team, the nominees are: The Disorderly Youth. The team of Gryffin Anselm and James Win. The Bushido Buntai. The Old School Kings. And finally, the Revenge of the Nerds.

Once again, Cartwright has to look down at his notebook.

Smith Cartwright: In the category of Bigest Moment of the Year, the nominees are: Greyson Blade winning the World Title at Rise of the Elite. Herb Moxley winning the Tao of Valor Championship at Advent Empire. The firing of former World Champion Devastation on the first Shockwave of the LEGACY Tour. The arrival of Loco Martinez. Dan Stein winning the Tao of Valor Championship and injuring Herb Moxley. And finally, Greyson Blade spearing Miss Rhodes.

There's a mixed reaction from the crowd on that last nominee.

Smith Cartwright: And in the 11th and final category, the nominees for Brightest Potential for 2007 include: The members of Bushido Buntai, DJ Cassidy, Stephen Rawlings, John Thomas, Jake Blaine, Justin Moreno, and Dan Stein. Voting begins shortly on the LEGACY online forums.

Cartwright waits a moment, then continues.

Smith Cartwright: Announcing these categories and nominees is not the only reason I'm out here tonight. With Rise of the Elite and Advent Empire, LEGACY has started a tradition of exciting pay per view events. Tonight, I'm here to announce that on February 18th, LEGACY will be holding its next pay per view event, which has been titled Brick by Brick.

As Smith Cartwright announces the name for the upcoming pay per view event, the lights in the arena dim and the logo which has been created for it appears on the LEGACY Vision jumbotron.

Backstage

We pick up our shot live in the loading dock area of the arena in Baltimore and we here the wheeze of an engine, and the camera spins around to find where the source of this noise is...

Tim Jones: "Hey Mr. Cameraman, you know where Belote is hiding his ugly white ass at?"

The camera man shakes his head no, but the focuses in on the wheelchair that made the noise that everyone heard, and we see that Tim Jones is sitting in the wheelchair, his one leg propped up..

Tim Jones: "Isn't this thing a beaut'? I can get this up 20 miles per hour, and this nice silver color is just so damn eye catching. You know I have met many of a fine nurses in these things, look if your ever feeling sexually frustrated, just get yourself a wheelchair and the woman FAUN over you.

Tim does a few spins in his chair, showing off for the cameraman and the Baltimore crowd which can be audibly hearing cheering in the background. Looking back over his shoulder he sees Andrew Kelley coming up and is following by someone with a clipboard in his hands...

Tim Jones: "Andrew! Yo! Adrian! or whatever your name is, you know I’m kidding Andrew, how things buddy?"

Andrew Kelley: "Tim Jones, what the hell happened to you? Last i heard from the mill was that you were taking a sabbatical for religious purposes."

Tim Jones: "I was, hell I’m always on a religious experience, you know when the girl starts to scream..."

Andrew Kelly: "I know, I know...wait a minute Tim.."

Guy in a clipboard comes up behind Mr. Kelly..

Clipboard Guy: "Sir, really i just need you to sign on what type of health insurance you want. It will only take a few minutes and we need to get it done so we can get the paperwork in to corporate."

Andrew Kelly: "Look man, you have been bothering me all damn day, I told you i need time to think about what health insurance I want, give me the work and ill send it to you later.

Clipboard Guy: "NO! I said for the 10,000th time, THAT IS NOT HOW WE DO IT! YOU NEED DECIDE WHICH ONE TO ELECT TO GO WITH THIS YEAR RIGHT NOW OR....(SWISSFTTT)

The camera pulls off the Clipboard guy and sees Tim Jones standing over him as he just delivered a super kick to his jaw..

Tim Jones: "Dude, shut the hell up. (Mocking his voice) That not how we do things. (Back in his own voice) Well that is how I do things, and Kelly, pick up your jaw, I can walk just fine, I was just being lazy today. Now i want all of Legacy to see that. That is your fate if you cross me or upset me. I am in no mood for anyone else’s bullshit but my own, now Kelly, point me in the direction of Belote..

An Andrew Kelly points down the hall and just shakes his head, and goes and takes the insurance papers off of the guy’s clipboard. Tim jumps in his wheelchair and speeds away down the hallway.

Elsewhere Backstage

The view switches to a shot of Patrick Reynolds, wearing a Dick Trickle tshirt, walking through the back halls of the arena, looking from side to side, apparently trying to find someone. As he approaches one of the road agents, he walks up to them with a confused look on his face.

Racin' Reynolds: 'scuse me, but you's a guy who knows where people might be back here, right?

Trevor Washington: That's right. Is there somebody I can help you find, Mr Reynolds?

The roster member puts up his hand.

Racin' Reynolds: Please, call me Pat. And I'm lookin' for Jimmy Smith. He's supposed to give me the phone numbers of a couple of those sweet thangs he tussled in the sheets with in his movies.

Trevor Washington: Ah, I see. Well... wait a minute, are you wearing a Dick Trickle tshirt when you're going to see Jimmy Smith?

Reynolds looks down at his shirt and then looks back up at the road agent.

Racin' Reynolds: Yeah, why not? He's one of my favorite drivers. You think Big Jimmy gots somethin' against him? I don't know why he would, I mean, I don't even know if Big Jimmy is a NASCAR fan... or, heaven forbid, a NASCAR hater.

Reynolds shows a measure of disbelief.

Racin' Reynolds: I don't know why people wouldn't like the fastest and most excitin' sport on God's green earth. What could be more excitin' to watch than a bunch of cars drivin' at top speeds, inches away from each other? I think if he ever went to a race, he might enjoy it more, but then again if those movies he's in film on the west coast like the regular movies do, then he probably never been to a race in person before, since a lot of the NASCAR races is on the east coast.

Not wanting to be stuck in the conversation too much longer, Trevor speaks up.

Trevor Washington: Ah, Jimmy Smith actually left the arena not too long ago, said something about checking out the club scene.

A look of disappointment forms on Patrick's face.

Racin' Reynolds: Well damn, I was hopin' to maybe get one of them ladies to be my New Years Eve date. You hear about that party comin' up? Should be a lotta fun. It'd be funner if I had a hottie on my arm with the... SKILLS that them ladies got.

After shrugging his shoulders, Pat Reynolds just walks off down the hall.

James Win vs Osamu Hayashi

Mark Perletta: Our third match of the night had two competitors squaring off who have been off their game thus far in LEGACY, not accomplishing the types of things that a lot of people think they're capable of doing..

Landon Savage: "Think" they're capable of? Perletta, James Win has proved in the past to be one of the most electrifying and entertaining competitors of our time, winning championship belts on more than one occassion. It's not a matter of whether or not he's capable of getting the job done, it's more of a question about the reasoning behind why he's NOT getting it done here.

Mark Perletta: A lot of people are speculating that since he had success early in his career, James Win has found himself less motivated than he needs to be in order to attain the accolades he earned years ago. He was also out of the sport for a little while, and that, too, could have an effect on his ability to succeed here.

Joey C: I don't want to hear anything about ring-rust, Marky. With Win it seems to be excuse after excuse, and it's really getting old.

Mark Perletta: In a similar boat to Win is Bushido Buntai member Osamu Hayashi, whose work in Japan is far superior to what we've seen from him thus far here in LEGACY. Speculation surrounding Osamu was that he was having trouble adjusting to being in the United States.

Joey C: His game definitely not the same so far in LEGACY as what we saw form him in Japan, that all changed recently, and it showed here tonight.

Landon Savage: After the match we got a glimpse of what might have made the change for him, but before we get to that, let's see how this match shook out in its final moments.

Start : Footage from the Match

James Win irish whips Osamu Hayashi across the ring, running in about eight feet behind him him to get in another move. As Osamu gets to the opposite corner, he hops up onto the second turnbuckle and jumps backwards, twisting and landing onto the shoulders of a surprised James Win. Hayashi spins around and tries to hit a flying headscissors. When he releases Win, though, James is able to roll through and get back to his feet. As Osamu stands up to continue on with the attack, he's surprised to see his opponent getting up to his feet. This opening allows Win to kick Hayashi in the gut, doubling him over, and from there The All Star hits a piledriver.

Landon Savage: NICE work from The Pan-American Idol, putting Hayashi on his back by dropping him on his head! That should slow down Osamu a step or two!

Mark Perletta: Win's probably taking too much time getting in on the attack... now he goes out onto the apron and climbs the ropes...

As Osamu starts to get up off the mat, he turns around just in time to see James Win leap off the top rope, nailing him with a missile dropkick, taking him off his feet and down to the mat. James gets back to his feet and quickly celebrates the high risk maneuver. From there Win runs over to the ropes, hops up onto the middle rope and then springs backwards into a moonsault. Just before he comes crashing down, though, Hayashi is able to get his knees up, and Win hits them hard with his ribs.

Mark Perletta: Good quick thinking there by Osamu Hayashi, and that looks to have slowed down the momentum of James Win.

Joey C: But can he capitalize? Given what I've seen from him so far here in LEGACY, I'm doubting it, but Given his potential and what he did in Japan, he very well could...

Osamu Hayashi spins around and hits a hard backhand smash to the side of James Win's head. Twisting around, Osamu hits a standing lotus kick to the other side of Win's head. Instead of falling to the mat, Win remains on his feet, though seriously dazed. Sensing an opening, Osamu turns and runs into the ropes and on the return he springs up off the mat and flips himself over and nails Win in the head with a spinning heel kick, taking him right off his feet. Hayashi doesn't waste any time as he hooks the leg and goes for the pinfall.

ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!!!

Josephina Colbert: And your winner as a reult of a PINFALL... Osamu Hayashi!!!

Mark Perletta: With a couple of quick shots to the head of James Win, Bushido Buntai member Osamu Hayashi picks up the victory.

Joey C: He looked like he couldn't be more excited about it, too. He must have jumped up into the air about three feet when the bell rang and his name was announced.

Landon Savage: And he very well should be excited about this win, because based on the expectations people had for him coming into LEGACY, he has been a huge disappointment up until this point. The All Star hasn't exactl been at the top of his game thus far in LEGACY, either, so this was a victory that Osamu Hayashi almost HAD to get.

The Challenge

When the scene comes to life in the recesses of the arena, it is not the typical promo set or setting darkened to provide a “mood”. No, no, this scene is well-lit and very visible for all to see. This is a press conference set up by the entourage and business managers of Jake Blaine, who has challenged LEGACY Champion Greyson Blade to a match. Knowing The Outlaw as we do, he is not one to back down from a challenge, so standing on opposite sides of a podium we find champion and challenger with Smith Cartwright standing the in middle, looking a bit surprised and motioning over to Blade.

Smith Cartwright: I didn’t know he was going to have this big to do over it, perhaps Frank set this up with Blaine’s people.

Greyson Blade: I don’t know Smith, but you know what? I don’t give a fuck. He wants the big press conference? Give him the big press conference. If they're THIS interested to see a former boxing champion face a wrestling champion, if he wants to step into my world, then by all means roll out the red carpet.

With that, Smith turns to Jake Blaine and speaks into the microphone, addressing the members of the press in attendance.

Smith Cartwright: It is an honor and a privilege to be here today for the contract signing for Jake Blaine, world-renowned pugilist to take on LEGACY World Champion Greyson Blade next week on Strife.

Jake Blaine: T'is a glorious day when Jake "The Hellion" Blaine is given th'honor of meeting a man of Mister Blade's stature. Furthermore I hope t'show all of you yanks what a good sportsman I am, me bein' the only true Englishman out here for this company I have a level of respect t'maintain. So t'seal th'deal I would like to shake your hand Mister Blade.

Greyson looks over at Blaine warily but reaches out anyway.

Greyson Blade: Right … I’ll take the “yanks” insult in stride there Blaine, but what can I say, if I can deal with the likes of a Dan Stein, why not shake your hand huh?

Jake Blaine: Well fer ya I think it's respectful that ya put that title belt of yours on the line? Shows the brass that I would expect out of man like ya. Certainly be a great day when I left that thing over my shoulder on my debut.

Blaine gives a smile to Blade, knowing who he is dealing with and the reaction he would get.

Greyson Blade: Any time, any place, and anywhere Blaine. In fact, next week would be perfect. The belt will be on the line … you and me, and son you are going to learn the real meaning of respect in my ring.

Jake Blaine: I got no doubt yer good, that's why yer th'champ, but i'm th'man. I'm not just gonna beat ya for a belt, I'm gonna beat yer name into th'dirt. Yer a somebody in this business Mister Blade, and that makes beating you all the more important for me.

Blaine steps forward a bit and Greyson meets him, crowding Smith, who now chooses to interject.

Smith Cartwright: Well, I wasn’t sure why there was a press conference for the match, but I get it now, and Blaine, the LEGACY World Title will NOT be on the line in this match!

Jake Blaine looks over with a bit of anger at Blade.

Jake Blaine: Ah so I guees ya ain't th'man I thought ya was, guess ya are just a yank with a spoon up your bum!

Greyson Blade: Ah … fuck that Blaine … I’ve been a fighting Champion since day one, and I’ll be damned if I have anything to do with this. I’d be more than happy to …

Smith Cartwright: Blade doesn’t make the matches here Blaine … the front office does, and since I represent them, I do. I haven’t seen you in this ring against a man like Blade and I’m not going to hand you a shot until you “prove yourself”.

Jake Blaine: Prove myself? Ya panty waist bottom feedin' milk chuggin' pen pushin' hick, I was knockin' guys out as a World Heavyweight Champion, recognized by more countries then this pig sty could imagine. I don't need to prove dick to you, but if you need a visual aid…

Blaine rears back and sucker punches Blade, knocking him off his feet to the floor. The crowd gasps at the shot, and Blade looks to be down. Blaine looks very satisfied with himself and looks with a smirk over at Smith, until Greyson slowly begins to make his way up looking eye to eye with Blaine, holding his jaw, but standing never the less He reaches over on the podium and signs the contract.

Greyson Blade: That’s your one free shot Blaine. Your ONE free shot. The next one and I will put you on your ass and the beating will have only begun.

Smith Cartwright: Well that next shot isn’t going to come here, its going to come next STRIFE. Until then, if neither of you want suspended you won’t be laying a hand on each other.

This notion irks both men, but both finally back off as Blaine reaches for the pen and signs.

Greyson Blade: Next STRIFE… you are mine, Blaine … you hear me?! MINE.

After the camera zooms in on the face of Greyson Blade, the view then switches over to a view from the recap position.

Mark Perletta: Former boxing champion Jake Blaine wanting a shot at the LEGACY champion Greyson Blade, a press conference set up backstage to announce what should be an interesting match, seeing how the accomplished boxer matches up with the very accomplished wrestler inside of a wrestling ring.

Landon Savage: Key words right there, Perletta, "wrestling ring". Smith Cartwright and the front office aren't letting this match happen with the World Title on the line, and rightfully so. Jake Blaine hasn't done anything yet under wrestling rules, so let's see how he does before he gets his shot at a title.

Joey C: Sure, there are guys who deserve this shot more than Blaine, but this could be a fairly highly billed match. You'd also think that if Jake Blaine picks up the victory against Greyson Blade next week, he will have earned a shot with the belt on the line.

A Slightly New Look

The camera’s open up to the dressing room area of Susan Rhodes, the camera’s only catches a shot of her back, as it is turned shy away from our view. All you see is a dimly lit room, and nothing really seems to strike you as odd, but the dimly lit room. Susan still with her back turned reaches into a drawer and produces two items, some black Avon nail polish, and a remote control. She points the remote at a small stereo sitting on her desk, and an instrumental to the song “Colours” by Sisters of Mercy begins to play. With her best effort, she begins to slowly chant the bridge of the song herself.

SUSAN RHODES: You Reap What You Sow…
Put Your Face To The Ground…
Here Comes The Marching Men…
Your Colours Wrapped Around…

She stops abruptly…and then grabs the bottle of nail polish gives it a thorough shake, and begins to apply the nail polish one nail bed at a time, starting with her left hand. After she’s finished painting her left finger nails a drastic shade of black, she continues with her little mini chant of the British bands’ more macabre contribution to popular music.

SUSAN RHODES: You Reap What You Sow…
Put Your Face To The Ground…
Here Comes The Marching Men…
Your Colours Wrapped Around…

Susan blows her left finger nails in an attempt to expedite their drying time. She blows furiously, and after one whole minute she begins to work on her right finger-nail beds, and paints them as well. Stroke after stroke she paints her nails, and when she’s very much finished, with her back still turned toward us, the spotlight whore in the wrestling starlet says while looking at her finger nails…

SUSAN RHODES: There. All better.

The camera’s fade to the blackest of blacks on that note, left on a cliff-hanger, indeed.

Warm Reception

Cutting backstage, the cameras pick up a shot of the victorious Osamu Hayashi walking down the hall, going right for Shinya Nori, Katsuro Yoshida, and a very attractive Asian woman. As he gets about ten feet from them, the woman runs towards him and grabs him into a loving embrace. The two kiss for a minute and then continue walking towards his Bushido Buntai teammates. When he gets to them, they are all approached by backstage interviewer Andrew Kelley.

Andrew Kelley: Great hard fought match out there tonight, Osamu, showing us something that we haven’t seen from you since you arrived here in LEGACY. To what exactly do you attribute tonight’s win and all-around better showing inside that ring?

Osamu Hayashi looks over at Shinya Nori and bows slightly, and Shinya responds by giving a little nod of his head, and then Osamu Hayashi turns towards Andrew Kelley.

Osamu Hayashi: When I came to United States and LEGACY Championship Wrestling to compete, I had difficulty adjusting to new way of life over here. Competition was not any harder than my past in Japan, but I was distracted. Something was missing.

Osamu looks over at the attractive woman standing at his side.

Osamu Hayashi: I was missing someone.

The mentor for Bushido Buntai steps up.

Shinya Nori: That’s no longer going to be problem. We figured out the problem, and it got fixed. Now the Bushido Buntai can do what we are meant to do. Win.

Nothing more to say, Shinya Nori walks off down the hallway and Katsuro Yoshida follows him. As Osamu Hayashi and his lady friend start to follow, Diego de Cardenas and Hannah Perez walks in front of them, Osamu nearly running into him.

Diego de Cardenas – You’d better watch where you’re going.

Osamu and Diego stand there for a moment, locking eyes, but then Osamu walks off, chuckling after his lady friend says something to him in Japanese. Diego’s eyes narrow and he doesn’t look pleased at all.

Hawkins Memorial Tournament
Semi-Final Match
Diego de Cardenas vs Stephen Rawlings

Mark Perletta: Our fourth and final match of the night is the first semi-final match of the Hawkins Memorial Tournament, and it turned out to be a lot more heated than I originally thought it was going to be.

Joey C: Diego de Cardenas definitely took offense to the things that Stephen Rawlings said to start the show, and he took out all of that frustration on Stephen in this match.

Mark Perletta: A lot of people thought the same way Stephen did, that Rawlings was going to pick up a relatively easy win. Those people were sadly mistaken, as Diego de Cardenas had what I consider to be his best match thus far here in LEGACY.

Landon Savage: Why is it that people just ignore the fact that other fighting promotions exist outside of the United States? Greyson Blade had success in OPW and DIWF and TTW, and so he has a ton of credibility, even with the people who didn't SEE his matches in those organizations. Diego has success all across the globe, in basically every country with wrestling organizations OTHER than the United States, and most people consider him a rookie.

Mark Perletta: Well after this match, Stephen Rawlings no doubt has a new level of respect for Diego de Cardenas' in-ring ability, though not everything Diego did to gain an advantage in this match was related to his fighting prowess.

Joey C: I'm sure you're referring to the fact that Hannah Perez once again got involved in a match, once again helping her man get an advantage. In my book, that's just good strategy.

Landon Savage: Hannah Perez definitely caused a little distraction, but Stephen Rawlings is the one who chose to dwell on it and turn his focus away from his opponent, and he paid for it.

Mark Perletta: It did cause him to lose control of the offensive, but the bigger question is whether or not it lead to him losing the match, or was he able to rebound and move on towards the finals? Let's find out.

Start : Footage from the Match

Stephen Rawlings goes for an irish whip, but Diego de Cardenas reverses it and sends him into the ropes. As Rawlings comes in on the return, Diego leaps into the air and flips himself over and nails Stephen across the throat with a flying shin clothesline. Diego then moves out onto the apron, lines himself up with Stephen and then uses the ropes to slingshot him back into the ring as he flips over and lands back-first down onto Rawlings with a body smash. Lifting Stephen up off the mat, Diego hits a snap suplex. As he goes for another one, Diego's second attempt is blocked and Rawlings hits a Northern Lights suplex, bridging into a pinfall attempt.

ONE!

TWO!!

KICKOUT!!!

Mark Perletta: Nice reversal there by Rawlings into a nearfall.

Landon Savage: He may have stopped Diego's momentum, but loud-mouth Rawlings had better take advantage, or Diego could come back and win this match.

Rawlings grabs Diego and lifts him up off the mat and hits an atomic drop. Not letting his opponent fall down to the mat, Stephen follows that up right away with a belly to back suplex, taking him down to the mat. From there, Rawlings moves out onto the apron, and then climbs up to the top rope, waiting as Diego starts to get up off the mat. Looking for the hurricanrana he calls the "Other Finishing Move", Stephen leaps off the top rope. At the last moment Diego sidesteps, and Rawlings hits the mat hard.

Mark Perletta: And that's why they call it a high risk maneuver!

Landon Savage: I'm betting Rawlings went for a that high risk maneuver because of all the talk he's been hearing about how great Diego de Cardenas is as those type of moves.

Mark Perletta: He is a very competitive guy.

Seeing his opponent down on the mat, Diego immediately starts to stomp on him. stepping up near Rawlings' head, Diego does a forward flip and lands down onto Rawlings. With Stephen down on the mat, Diego heads to the outside and then hops up to the top rope. He stands there and waits for Rawlings to get up off the mat, and once he does, Diego flies off the top rope, hitting a cross-body block. Unfortunately for Cardenas, Rawlings rolls through into a pinfall attempt of his own...

ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!!!

Josephina Colbert: And your winner as a reult of a PINFALL... STEPHEN RAWLINGS!!!

Mark Perletta: With that pinfall, Stephen Rawlings makes good on his word to make it to the finals, but this win certainly wasn't as easy for him as he claimed it was going to be.

Joey C: Stephen Rawlings got lucky today. Usually when someone underestimates their opponent as much as Rawlings did, they slip up and end up losing.

Landon Savage: I would've liked to see Rawlings lose this match to help shut his mouth, and Diego de Cardenas nearly did just that, falling just short.

Mark Perletta: This is the second time in his run here in LEGACY that Cardenas came close to a big accomplishment. As you might remember, back at Rise of the Elite Diego was the "Silver Medal" winner in the Sky High Cup.

Joey C: Even though the last match of the night was over, there was one last thing that happened at the end of the show that we need to show you, something that we found to be very interesting.

Somewhere Backstage

The camera’s open up to the lounge area hall-way. LEGACY officials are seen pushing brooms, papers, or shutting things down after another show has ended. The object of the camera’s desires is a lone figure of new superstar within the LEGACY ranks, Jake Blaine. Blaine is seen casually minding his own business as he trots down the hallway. Pulling the rear is Marcus Marion seen garbed in his traditional orange polo Abercrombie and Fitch long-sleeved gear…and that trademark blonde hair of his. Marion positions two of his fingers into his mouth and whistles. Loud enough so that a bemused Blaine turns around.

MARCUS MARION: Yeah…that did the trick. Blaine, right? I’ve never been good at remembering names, so consider yourself…

Marion air-quotes…to which Blaine blankly stares at him.

MARCUS MARION: Lucky. Anyway, I have a proposition, and I think you are the PERFECT candidate to listen. Any objections?

Blaine looks Marion up and down, and instantly responds.

JAKE BLAINE: Well make your proposition, I ain't got all night. If I like it i'll do it, if not i'll trounce ya one in th'lip for buggin' me, bloody yank.

Marion nods and gets a smirk on his face.

MARCUS MARION: We are going to have to work on your ‘people’ skills… butother than that, sounds like you’re ready to hear what I’ve got to say.

The camera fades out as Marion and Blaine have a discussion which we’re not privy to hearing.
