Strife
11.16.2006

The LEGACY logo shows up on a black screen as the sound of trumpets start up, the image fading, the trumpets joined by the sound of violins. Various images of locations on the Boston University campus fade in and out on the screen, ending with one of the arena. Footage from the pay per view event then follows, the only sound we hear is that of the orchestra that played during the opening to Advent Empire. We first see Smith Cartwright introduce Josephina Colbert, LEGACY's new ring announcer. Then Diego de Cardenas shows up with Hannah Perez. That is followed up as Herb Moxley walks down the entrance ramp to the ring.

The sound of drums joins into the mixture of sound, followed by other instruments probably including other brass and woodwinds. Other stringed instruments follow in as footage appears of Nicholas Creed walking down the isle, Tao of Valor Championship belt over his shoulder. The crescendo continues as we are shown highlights from that match. The first clip shows Creed gorilla press throwing Moxley out of the ring over the top rope. Next Moxley hits the Super Sweet Ninja Kick. Then Creed attempts the REIGN OF SIN. The end of the match is shown as we see Moxley on his feet and the referee counts TEN, the crowd exploding. The aftermath of the match follows, with Creed decimating Herb Moxley. After the screen goes black for a moment, footage is shown with Jack Henderson hitting a capture belly-to-belly suplex, followed by a clip of Larcen hitting a hangman's noose on Henderson, then the Grand Larceny. Then the screen goes dark again.

After having a two measure pause during the darkness, the music picks right back up with the footage as we see Tim Jones attacking Aaron Beaudway on the way to the ring. We see the Bangkok Driver from Aaron, but then Jones hits a SNAFU. After a moment of darkness, we then see Gryffin Anselm, Katsuro Yoshida, and Loco Martinez, all standing in the ring waiting for their match to begin. The footage from the No Limit Championship match begins as we see Loco hitting Katsuro Yoshida with a dropkick and then a bulldog. Katsuro Yoshida hits Loco Martinez with a Northern Lights Suplex into a pinning combination. Gryffin Anselm hits a wicked spinebuster. With Loco in a bearhug at the time, Gryffin Anselm is hit with a stiff kick to the back by Katsuro Yoshida, sending Martinez and Anselm through a table.

The music intensifies as we see John Thomas coming off the rope, going for the NOT YOUR AVERAGE MOONSAULT, but Marcus Marion pulls chair in the way, and John goes crashing through it. We then see John Thomas hit a Side Russian Legsweep on Marion, sending him back-first into a steel chair, flattening it. Thomas then hits the sick falling neckbreaker, sending the back of his head and Marion's head onto a chair. The final clip we see from that match is where Marcus Marion hits the tombstone piledriver down onto a chair.

The clips that follow directly after are from the World Tag Team Title Match, and the first clip we see is where Jake Dominion nails Cassidy with a cork-screw legdrop. Later in the match Cassidy locks Dominion in the Texas Cloverleaf, while Moxley enters the ring and dropkicks Dominion in the face while he is still in the move. Then the Nerds execute a double-suplex to Eric Wolfson on the outside of the ring. That is followed up by a shot of Dominion knocking Cassidy off the apron, and then the Old School Kings work together and hit the RULE OF DOMINION.

All of the instruments apart from the drums and trumpets quiet and we see footage of each of the three competitors in the World Title Main Event walking down the isle towards the ring, fading to black after each one of them. The entire orchestra of instruments work back into the fold as we see various clips from the match. Included in there, we watch as Rawlings hits The Finishing Move on Greyson Blade. We see Dan Stein hit a double-underhook backbreaker on Rawlings. Greyson Blade hits the Killshot on Stein into a german suplex from Rawlings. The final series of clips shows the various reversals from near the end of the match, and the final image we see is of Greyson Blade hoisting the World Title over his head after the match, and then the screen fades to black, with the LEGACY logo once again showing up on the screen.

TONIGHT'S LINEUP

The show opens on a shot of Mark Perletta, Landon Savage and Joey C sitting behind a desk that resembles what you would see anchors sit behind in the studio of a sports news program such as Sports Center. Behind them is an elaborate backdrop which includes several flatscreen monitors, each of them showing the same view we're seeing right now of the recap trio. As the camera zooms in, the screens fade into a shot of the yellow golden LEGACY logo.

Mark Perletta: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first STRIFE following the ADVENT EMPIRE pay per view extravaganza. Tonight's show was a few weeks in the making, but it was an eventful show nevertheless.

Landon Savage: This whole "recap" format thing, it's a bit difficult to adjust to after live pay per views, isn't it?

Mark Perletta: It can be a little tricky, but honestly, Landon, I didn't think you were the type of person to admit when things were difficult for them.

Landon Savage: Whoa, hold on a second, I wasn't saying it was difficult to adjust to for ME, I meant that it must be difficult for the two of you guys to adjust. I'm a professional, and we need to get on with things. The Hammerstein Ballroom show got pushed back a few weeks due to the pay per view being set back a few weeks.

Joey C: Yeah, but we're back now and moving on with the next leg of this tour, heading towards our next pay per view event, scheduled for sometime shortly after the new year. It's a bit too early to be thinking about that, though, with a SuperCard event coming up sometime in the next few weeks.

Mark Perletta: A large percentage of the matches to occur between now and the pay per view event will involve a tournament for a shot at the World Title, the announcement made early on during Advent Empire. We'll learn more about that here tonight.

Joey C: A lot to cover and not a lot of time in which to cover it, let's get things started with something of a homecoming for one of LEGACY's newest champions.

Going Old School

The opening chords of "Whatever" by Godsmack start up and blasts over the sound system, then immediately turns into "Blood of Heroes" by Megadeth. The reaction in the Hammerstein Ballroom is COMPLETELY different than that of Boston U. The crowd is on their feet cheering for the home-coming of one half of the New World Tag Team Champions...

Landon Savage: That's right, this is the ovation the new World Tag Team champions should get all the time.

Mark Perletta: The Old School Kings haven’t endeared themselves to the LEGACY fans in the past 6 months, but Jake Dominion and Eric Wolfson are fan favorites of this New York crowd. I know Jake Dominion is a hometown boy, and I realize that New Yorkers are loyal to a fault...

Joey C: Oh shut up Marky Mark and show some respect to the new World Tag Team champs!

The chords of "Blood of Heroes" by Megadeth continues to echo throughout the Hammerstein Ballroom as chants of "Old School Kings" and "J.D. Ice" can be heard all over the venue. Suddenly a huge pop from the crowd starts as Jake Dominion steps out from behind the curtain, rocking a white #11 Mark Messier Captain jersey, a black and blue fitted #56 LT cap on backwards, a pair of his signature shades and his usual ring attire. Of course his attire is a bit heavier with one of the World Tag Team title belts draped over his right shoulder as he just soaks in the cheers of his hometown crowd. Eric Wolfson follows behind with a #33 Ewing jersey on, a pair of shades himself and his World Tag Team title belt draped over his left shoulder. The two start strutting down the aisle as the whole venue is on their feet cheering.

Mark Perletta: Look at how arrogant these two are. The fact that they’re getting cheers just makes me sick.

Joey C: Get over it Marky, nobody asked your opinion, and keep quiet so we can hear what the new champs have to say.

Dominion and Wolfson continue their slow entrance into the ring, soaking in the love from the NYC crowd. Dominion enters the ring first and heads over to the far turnbuckle as Wolfson enters and ascends the near turnbuckle as the chants of "Old School Kings" and " J.D. Ice" are now deafening. Jake hops down and gives the "whud up baby" look at the ring announcer Josephina as she blushes and hands him the mic. Jake motions for the crowd to bring it down a notch as he starts to speak...

Jake Dominion: NEW YORK FUCKING CITY!!!

The roar from the crowd starts up again as Jake gives his cocky smile as you can tell he's loving every bit of it. After a few moments, Jake continues once again...

Jake Dominion: You have NO idea how good it feels to be home. Can you imagine if we had to put up with being in that shithole of a town for one more minute? FUCK BOSTON!

Chants of "Boston Sucks" start up as Dominion and Wolfson can't help but laugh as Jake continues...

Jake Dominion: Damn right it does, you're telling me. Anyhow, you guys notice anything different?

Jake taps the World Tag Title belt on his shoulder with his cocky smile.

Jake Dominion: What the hell did we say? We told the world that we'd walk into Advent Empire and walk out as the World Tag Team champions and we sure as hell don't disappoint. Nerds, you didn't stand a chance. Moxley may have barely squeaked out a win, if you can even call it that, against the monster Creed and is the new Tao of Valor champion, but we OWNED you. We kicked your ass all over that shithole town of Boston. We went to hell and back and we're the ones standing here with the gold.

Jake lifts up the World Tag Title belt and hoists it into the air.

Jake Dominion: We're the cornerstone of the tag team division, we're the elite tag team in this business, we are the backbone of LEGACY... BOW DOWN TO THE FUCKING KINGS!

Once again the crowd roars from the intensity displayed by one half of the LEGACY World Tag Team Champions. Jake regains his ultra-cool composure as that cocky smile graces his face once again as he continues...

Jake Dominion: So what are the new World Tag Team champions up-to now you all ask? I figure we hit up a few clubs on the Upper East Side, ball it up like true Kings and kick it all night long like only we know how. And why not? We deserve it. We OWN the tag team division here in LEGACY and we challenge ANYONE who thinks they can take these from us to step up to the plate and try. Bring it Buntai, Win and Anselm – fuckin’ Syndicate, Loco and JT, hell we had so much fun we'll even kick the Nerds ass again, anybody and everyone JUST FUCKING BRING IT.

The Hammerstein Ballroom crowd pops, and Jake Dominion walks over and steps up onto the middle turnbuckle.

Jake Dominion: Cause we don't care whether you're short, tall, fat, ugly, foreign or just plain pathetic cuz we're equal opportunist ass-kickers and it'll be our pleasure to make an example of anyone stupid enough to wanna bring it on. The Old School Kings reign over all the tag teams here and we'll be glad to show you all why you should ALL be bowing down. We've taken our rightful spots upon the throne, and now we'll just have to wait and see who's first to be stupid enough to try and knock us down...

"Blood of Heroes" by Megadeth starts to blast once again over the sound system as Dominion drops the mic and the Old School Kings ascend the turnbuckles once again and hold the World Tag Team Titles high in the air for all of New York City fans to see as a huge pop from the crowd once again echos throughout the Hammerstein Ballroom.

A Return and A Challenge

With the Old School Kings having returned to the backstage area, the fans are expecting a match to follow, which is why they are surprised when "Miseria Cantare" by AFI begins to play over the P.A. system. The fans stare at the entrance way in heightened anticipation wondering who will walk out to the ring. Just then the curtain opens, revealing Justin Moreno wearing a customized New York Yankees baseball jersey over a LEGACY T-Shirt as the crowd goes absolutely crazy seeing Justin Moreno return to active competition. Moreno looks out at the crowd for a moment with a smile on his face before he walks to the ring. Moreno then tags hands with all the fans he can get to before pausing to reach into his boot and pull out a Sharpie. He takes off the Yankees jersey and autographs it before tossing it to a random fan as the fans chant "WEL-COME BACK!!! WEL-COME BACK!!!". Moreno then slides in the ring and climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stares out at the crowd with a smile on his face before Josephina Colbert hands him the microphone as the fans chant "J-MO!!! J-MO!!! J-MO!!!"

JUSTIN MORENO: Wow, all I can say right now is thank you New York for this response! It makes coming back to the ring all seem worth it!

The crowd cheers some more.

JUSTIN MORENO: Well, as some of you may already know, LEGACY has signed me to a contract to come work for them. Given my injuries, there's a lot of people questioning WHY I came back. I'm now a proud father, I'm married to Allison, I could have settled down to a normal family life. But there's ONE thing that kept me from hanging it up besides all these great fans and that's Marcus. Marion.

The crowd boos at the mention of his name as Justin puts his hand up to let him speak.

JUSTIN MORENO: Obviously you guys feel the same way. For those of you unfamiliar with WHY I hate the man so much, let me tell you something. He crossed a line that you don't EVER cross with a man. Attack my high-risk style, fine. Attack the way I dress, okay. But you NEVER fucking go after a man's family! Marcus, you put Allison and myself through hell in TTW. You claimed my wife is a slut, claimed YOU knocked her up, and even went after my unborn child. To put it bluntly Marcus, you are a piece of shit. A pathetic excuse of a human being. I mean, for god's sake you have to hide behind jailbait groupies now! Oh, and by the way... a certain Nature Boy called... said he wants his gimmick back!

The crowd laughs at that one.

JUSTIN MORENO: You see, I came here for ONE reason only... to get my revenge on Marcus Marion. So let's not waste anymore time... Marion, GET THE FUCK OUT HERE NOW!!!

Just then the lights dim, “Set It Off” by Audio-slave captures the pop sensibilities of the crowd. The pink strobes bathe the arena, chants of: WELCOME-BACK! WELCOME BACK! have already been demarcated under layers of tension and, hatred. Images of trashy strippers dancing on poles, and lap-dancing one another is shown on the wall-screen. The fans roar in disapproval, the trash flies at the rear of the arena, and Marion emerges from the metallic door-way with his favorite assets, the Rhodes’. Marion dressed with a sterling silver chain and tightly fitted “Guess” shirt walks to the ring, being buried with cups, beer cans and popcorn. As he enters the ring, the lights fade back up, his music fades under, and he walks over to the middle of the ring where Moreno is standing, looks him dead in the eye and then rips the microphone from Justin’s hand, then starts backing away as he lifts the microphone to his lips…

MARCUS MARION: It’s nice to see you Justin. Well, no, it isn’t. You look a little shorter than I remember. Anyway, I hope you dropped just a quarter in the meter, this won’t be taking very long. Gain a little weight? Last time I saw you, you were trying to make weight to be considered a legitimate cruiserweight. Well, now that you’re back, and so full of vigor and life again, allow me to reintroduce myself.

Marion smirks and surveys the crowd. One fan stands up and shouts: “MARION IS THE ANTI-CHRIST”. He looks at this very confused biblically, and common-sense wised fan and says..

MARCUS MARION: No, I’m really not. I hear I look a lot like him though, must be the silver chain. My name is Marcus Marion. My interests include making “Benjamins”, my Ferrari, Susie, and my face on Mt. Rushmore. My age is twenty-four. And my dislikes? Well, how can I put this in a way you can understand…I dislike…YOU!

Moreno, rips the mic from Marion's hands as the crowd cheers this act of confidence. He looks at Marion, and shakes his head.

JUSTIN MORENO: See your up to your old lame insults again. It doesn’t matter what you say Marion, I’m hear for the expressed reason of kicking YOUR ass, and THAT won’t be taking very long. You called Allison a whore and I CAN’T EVER forgive that.

Marion smirks, and then takes the mic out of Moreno’s hands.

MARCUS MARION: Lay off the crack, or give it to me. I called Allison a whore, a monkey, a three-celled organism that right about now needs a morgue and a coffin. But, that's not all I said. I said that I picked out her g-string, too. I put you on your ass. I nearly broke your neck and put you on a respirator. Through all of that, I even found time to knock up your wife and NAME your baby daughter. So, when little Jaden hits middle-school and all the boys are wide-eyed at her? You slip her a note, you let her know Marcus said “you’re welcome”.

Marion smirks.

MARCUS MARION: Those were among my finest moments, I must admit.

Justin grabs the microphone and begins to speak very sternly into it.

JUSTIN MORENO: You may have broken my neck and left me in a respirator. Hell, you damn near killed me. But you know what, chump? I'm back and I'm in the best shape I have EVER been in and I have done nothing the past year except wait for the opportunity to get my hands on you and get my revenge for what you did. You can come at me with all the insults you want, but deep down you know damn well that if we had a rematch, there is no way in HELL you could beat me! So get the blonde bimbos out of the ring and let's do this right now!

Moreno acts like he's gonna hand the mic to Marion but drops it at his feet. Marion smiles, takes a step back and motions for Susan to pick it up, she does gingerly, aiming to please her idol. Nicole, looks on squeamishly at her cousin getting attention but remains at the side of Marion. Susan hands it off to Marion, who wipes it off.

MARCUS MARION: Hmmm…OK, this is getting old. Justin, it's like the same refrain time after time. I know you want to...

Marion bows his head in a christ-like pose as he continues to ridicule Moreno, and then speaks again.

MARCUS MARION: Save LEGACY from the anti-establishment, but you're going to have to prove something to me before I break your hip to go along with that broken neck. Didn't I tell you to NEVER come back at Uncertain Horizons? Obviously you thought I was doing stand-up that night, because look, here you are once again bloviating on the mic, and twisting in the wind.

Marion pauses momentarily.

MARCUS MARION: So, no, I don't think you'll be getting any sort of vengeance, least, not against me, at least certainly not anytime soon. But what you can do is work off a little of that ring rust if you've got a few matches in you. I'll be happy to explain.

JUSTIN MORENO: Bring it on, boy... bring it on.

Marion takes a step back and pretends to wipe his face as if Moreno spat a gob of spit in his face. The crowd boos Marion, as he takes two steps back, then two more, as he speaks.

MARCUS MARION: Since you obviously want to “settle the dispute” once-and-for-all, you’ll have to do it my way. In a tournament, if you win said tournament, you get your shot at me. But, not one match before. Popular opinion may be that I’m a guy who’s all style and no substance. It maybe even be that I’m a “coward”, a “liar”, and a “cheat”, I have no idea where they got that from, but this is the land of the free, the home of the brave, and people are entitled to their own opinions, however off the wall they may be. I want to change all that. The substance? Getting you to bleed like a stuck pig all over the damn country, once again. The substance? Bending the front office to my will, and PSA’ing your very funeral. You came back for all the wrong reasons Justin, and I’m going to make sure you never have to skip another wink of sleep, as my little task force put you out for good.

Justin shoves Marion back, as he rips the mic from his hands.

JUSTIN MORENO: Whatever it takes, to bring you down. A tournament? I’ll do whatever it takes. I’ll get you Marion, I swear it!

After a couple seconds of an intense staredown, Moreno walks around Marcus Marion, turning around after passing him, walking backwards to keep his eyes on Marion the entire way, and Moreno exits the ring to a chorus of cheers, as Marion and the Rhodes peer off with Cheshire grin like smiles on their faces.

James Win vs Aaron Beaudway

Mark Perletta: Our first match of the night seemed like a relatively tame match between two men on the roster without any history with one another, but as we would find out after the match, it wasn't just some random match up between guys who had never held a LEGACY championship belt before.

Landon Savage: Yeah well that little nugget of information can wait until after the match when it can be properly announce by the appropriate people.

Joey C: I agree, let's not go jumping the gun, Marky.

Mark Perletta: Well the story behind the story of our first match aside, James Win seemed to be a man with a purpose, starting things off relatively quick and keeping the pressure on.

Landon Savage: It was obvious to me and probably most other people that The All Star definitely came into this contest wanting to pick up the victory a lot more than Aaron Beaudway.

Joey C: Other things aside, Aaron Beaudway was part of ADVENT EMPIRE. James Win was not. Irregardless of the reasons behind why or how that happened, I know for a FACT that it rubbed James Win the wrong way.

Mark Perletta: The All Star definitely has a high opinion of himself, and I'm sure he took it as a major insult that he didn't get to take part in LEGACY's second pay per view offering, especially when Beaudway had a match at the event.

Landon Savage: Hey, if the front office didn't get all the buy rates they could have, that's their fault. James Win brings ratings.

Mark Perletta: However it happened, James Win didn't end up on the pay per view, he was upset by it, and in this match he was taking his frustration out on his opponent. Beaudway didn't lay down for Win, though.

Joey C: You're right about that, but he didn't exactly hit on all cylinders, either. He just seemed really unmotivated in this match, and he sure paid for it.

Start : Footage from the Match

Win takes Beaudway by the arm and slowly lifts him up to his feet. Feeling a bit cocky, Win steps forward a few steps, backing Aaron up, and then goes for an irish whip. Not putting enough strength into it, James Win has his attempt reversed, and Beaudway sends him into the ropes. On the return The All Star is barely able to duck underneath a clothesline attempt, and after doing so, Win stops on a dime, turns, and nails Beaudway just as he turns around with a flip-around Pele kick to the head. As Beaudway shakily starts to work his way up, Win grabs him by the head and slams his face down into the mat.

Mark Perletta: James Win nearly allowing Aaron Beaudway an opening, which could have been a big mistake here at the end of the match.

Landon Savage: Yeah but he DIDN'T. Don't focus on what MIGHT have been. Focus on that picture perfect Pele kick, or the equally as effective faceslam.

Joey C: Win definitely in control, and things aren't looking good for Beaudway...

With Beaudway on the mat, James Win runs and jumps up to the second rope, using it to spring himself backwards and landing right down on top of Aaron with an Asai moonsault. Win hops right back up to his feet and grabs his opponent by the head. After picking Beaudway up to his feet, James Win sets him up into a vertical headscissors, then locks in the double underhook. After getting a grin on his face, Win jumps backwards and hits his version of the Pedigree.

Landon Savage: James Win nails The Starburst, and this thing is OVER! Count it!

ONE!

TWO!

THREE!

Josephina Colbert: And your winner by SUBMISSION - "The All Star" James Win!

Mark Perletta: James Win picked up the victory, over Aaron Beaudway, and as we found out, it wasn't just another notch in the win column for The All Star.

Joey C: Absolutely not. Before James Win could even leave the ring, he was met with a message from the front office...

Landon Savage: ...containing an important bit of information about not only the future of James Win, but ten other members of the LEGACY roster.

Tournament Time

As James Win celebrates his victory, "All Star" by Smashmouth is interrupted and "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba kicks in over the P.A. system. Everyone in the arena turns and looks over at the entrance curtain, a portion of them cheering, as they think they know who's coming. James Win steps down off of the turnbuckle, not happy about being interrupted, especially by the individual whom he thinks is about to come out through the back.

Joey C: Hey, wait a minute, I recognize this music...!!

Landon Savage: It can't be...

Everyone in the arena who thought they knew who was coming out... was absolutely wrong. Smith Cartwright steps out from the back, and the excited members of the live crowd deflate. Mic in hand, Cartwright waits for the music to die under, and once it does, he begins his announcement.

Smith Cartwright: To those of you who thought you were about to be greeted by a former World Champion, allow me to apologize. To those of you who have no idea who the individual was that a lot of people watching were expecting to come out, you're about to understand. At ADVENT EMPIRE, an announcement was made that LEGACY was to host a tournament, the winner of which receiving not only a trophy, but also a cash prize and a guaranteed World Title shot. In coming up with a name for the tournament, Rob Belote decided to pay homage to the man from whom he learned the most from in this business, the man who taught Rob the things he used to become a champion many times over, and the ideals with which he runs this organization.

Smith Cartwright pauses.

Smith Cartwright: The man for whom the tournament is named got his big break in IEW, and over the years won countless championship belts and defeated a majority of the opponents whom he faced, spanning various federations, to include NAFWA, CEWF, AODWF, and SHOOT Project. The man whom I'm speaking of is the man whose theme music was played when I came out here a couple minutes ago.

Cartwright notices James Win shaking his head, disgruntled about the interruption. Win starts to leave the ring, but Smith stops him.

Smith Cartwright: Hold on there a second, James. I know you don't like to be out of the spotlight for any amount of time, especially when you feel like someone has interrupted your time, taken eyes off of you... but this concerns you, so just bare with me for a couple more minutes.

Win stops, then gets back into the ring, a smirk on his face.

Smith Cartwright: The match you all saw in the ring a few minutes ago, it was a first round match of the Dave Hawkins Memorial Tournament. Two other first round matches will also take place here tonight, including a match between DJ Cassidy and Cian Randal... and a match between Tim Jones and Osamu Hayashi.

There is a mild response from the fans, who seem to be appreciative of the information that has been offered up thus far, but they realize that the announcement isn't over just yet.

Smith Cartwright: Fourteen men have been entered into this tournament. The six competing tonight, you've already heard their names. Next week, we will have three more first round matches, including John Thomas taking on Jimmy Smith. Matt Larcen taking on Diego de Cardenas. And our last first round match will have Loco Martinez taking on Justin Moreno. Those of you doing the math, you'll realize that's only 12 names, and I told you there were 14.

Cartwright pauses momentarily.

Smith Cartwright: The other two individuals have received first round byes in the tournament. The first of those two individuals is Stephen Rawlings, who was given a bye based on his performance in the main event at ADVENT EMPIRE. The other individual who will skip right to the second round is Jake Dominion. He earned his bye due to his performance in both singles and tag team contests thus far, not to mention his overwhelming popularity and his lofty credentials prior to joining LEGACY.

Smith slowly starts nodding his head.

Smith Cartwright: I know a lot of you will look at the list of 14 individuals and you'll wonder why certain people were left off the list, so allow me to address that very fact. This tournament represents opportunity. It's put out there to allow someone to step up to the plate and make a name for themself. Greyson Blade was left off the list because he already has the World Title, so he doesn't need the opportunity to fight for a shot. Marcus Marion still has his guaranteed World Title shot in his back pocket, so he doesn't need the opportunity either. Nicholas Creed, Herb Moxley, Gryffin Anselm, Katsuro Yoshida, they were all left off the list because they either had a singles title going into or coming out of ADVENT EMPIRE. The only other prominent name on the LEGACY roster who was not entered into the Hawkins Memorial Tournament is Dan Stein. He was left out of the tournament based on the fact that he's had a couple of World Title shots already in the past six months, and due to his conduct of the past six months. That kind of behavior should not be rewarded, and with this decision, we've decided to punish him for it, especially since Dave Hawkins deserves more respect than to have someone in this tournament go about things the way Dan Stein has!

A significant portion of the crowd starts clapping.

Smith Cartwright: For those of you who haven't heard, tonight's main event is going to be for the Tao of Valor Championship, as Herb Moxley will attempt to defend the title against the man who earned himself this shot by defeating Jack Henderson at ADVENT EMPIRE... Matt Larcen! And on the next edition of STRIFE, whoever has the Tao of Valor Championship will meet, with the stipulation to be determined prior to the match, one-half of the former Tag Team Champions... DJ Cassidy!

Once again "Tubthumping" hits the PA system and the fans are making a commotion due to the announcement just made by Smith Cartwright. The footage then cuts and we return to a shot of broadcast position.

Mark Perletta: What a big announcement there by Smith Cartwright, not only announcing further details about the tournament for a World Title shot, which is apparently called the Dave Hawkins Memorial Tournament, but also announcing a big match for next week.

Landon Savage: First of all, let me just say that I'm impressed with the choice of Dave Hawkins as a man to name this tournament and trophy after. I know that the two of you weren't around to see Dave Hawkins, but he was one of the best I've ever seen.

Joey C: Yeah, but I've seen tapes, he was definitely a talent. But how about that other announcement that Cartwright made? That's an interesting potential match that could happen on the next STRIFE.

Mark Perletta: It was announced that DJ Cassidy will get the next shot at the Tao of Valor Championship, and from what I understand it's because he had a great showing in a match against Nicholas Creed on the STRIFE prior to ADVENT EMPIRE.

Landon Savage: This is the big opportunity that DJ Cassidy has been waiting for. Cassidy has what it takes to beat either Matt Larcen OR Herb Moxley, and you have to know how excited he is for this match.

Mark Perletta: Speaking of matches and DJ Cassidy, his first round match in the Hawkins Memorial Tournament is up next.

Hawkins Memorial Tournament Match
DJ Cassidy vs Cian Randal

Mark Perletta: Just as the first match of the evening was fairly one-sided in favor of James Win, the second match of the night - the first after the announcement of the brackets - went strongly in favor of D.J. Cassidy.

Landon Savage: He really seemed to be energized by the announcement of the tournament. I saw him earlier in the night, before the announcement, and he didn't seem to have this kind of energy to him.

Joey C: I'd venture to guess that it's not JUST because of being entered into the tournament, but also because he got a shot at the Tao of Valor Championship.

Landon Savage: What's happening here is that DJ Cassidy is finally getting the chance to step out of this fake shadow that Herb Moxley is somehow casting. Cassidy is better off without Moxley. He's better off without some crappy little tag team based on the fact that they both like to play games with pencil, paper, and different sided dice. This is DJ Cassidy's big shot, and if he doesn't make the most of it, then he'll never be anything more than the sidekick to Herb Moxley. This tournament is a big deal for DJ Cassidy.

Mark Perletta: The Revenge of the Nerds are a great tag team. They are two time champions, and when they're on their game, they're really hard to beat.

Joey C: Yeah? Well get ready to see that "hard to beat" team all but crumble next week. Whether Herb Moxley or Matt Larcen make it out of tonight with that belt, DJ Cassidy getting the shot at that belt, mark my words, is going to be just another wedge driven between The Nerds.

Mark Perletta: Whether it's next STRIFE or somewhere else down the line, I think DJ Cassidy and Herb Moxley can get into the ring with one another, and no matter the stakes, they can have a match based on healthy competition, best man can win.

Landon Savage: Enough of this speculative talk about a potential match... we've got a first round match of the Dave Hawkins Memorial Tournament going on, let's talk about that!

Mark Perletta: As the match continued, DJ Cassidy maintained control of the offensive flow of the match, once again another poor showing here by Cian Randal. As a matter of fact, Cian Randal got in a couple of offensive moves, but they certainly weren't at a meaningful point in the match, and it cost him.

Start : Footage from the Match

DJ Cassidy goes for a kick, but it's blocked by Randal. Making the most of the opportunity, Cassidy flings himself up and nails Cian in the side of the head with an enzuigiri. Randal somehow able to stay on his feet despite having his bell rung, DJ follows that up by stepping in and nailing him in the forehead with a headbutt that drops Randal down to the mat.

Landon Savage: A bit more intensity there from Cassidy, and I'm liking what I'm seeing!

Taking Cian by the head, DJ Cassidy lifts him up to his feet, hooks him in and lifts him up into a vertical suplex. Holding him there as long as he can, Cassidy shows off the results of a bit of extra weight training prior to dropping straight down to the mat with a well executed brainbuster. Not wasting a moment, Cassidy takes Cian and picks him up off the mat, then meticulously hooks his arms under each of Randal's, setting him up. From there he lifts Cian up off the mat, twists and pivots around and nails his spinning double-underhook "SPIN CYCLE" ddt.

Mark Perletta: DJ Cassidy dropping Cian Randal down onto the mat, and this one's all but done, with Cassidy just needing to make the pinfall attempt.

Joey C: If he were to have made the attempt, he would've gotten the pinfall, but he's not making the attempt just yet!

Lifting his opponent up off the mat one more time, DJ Cassidy hoists Cian Randal up onto his shoulders into a fireman's carry position and then he DRIVES Cian's head into the mat with a Death Valley Driver. Following that move up immediately, Cassidy then hooks his arm around Randal's neck, lifts him up off the mat a little bit, holding him into a dragon sleeper. The referee runs in, takes Randal's arm, lifts it up, and as it falls completely limp, the referee rushes over and calls for the bell.

Josephina Colbert: Here's your winner by SUBMISSION - D.J. Cassidy

Mark Perletta: And with that win, DJ Cassidy gets to move on to the second round.

Joey C: Who he'll fight in the second round, I'm not sure, but from what I understand, the tournament brackets are going to be released soon after this show airs.

Landon Savage: Ha, figures you wouldn't be privy to that sort of information. It figures that the front office wouldn't share something like that with you.

Joey C: You mean to tell me that YOU have seen the brackets? Marky, have you seen them too?

Mark Perletta: No, I haven't.

Landon Savage: That's just one of the perks of being "in" with the front office, I guess. I get to know things ahead of time... I guess that's partially because they know I won't screw it up and announce things before they want the information released. Just another example of how I'm more professional than the two of you are, but don't worry, in time the two of you, you're going to learn some things from me.

Interview Attempt

The camera cuts to the back. Dan Stein walking up through the backstage area, a blank look on his face. He's wearing a plain black t-shirt and a pair of Khaki shorts. No one in the backstage area is making eye contact with him, turning and engaging someone else near them in conversation as he gets near them, as to avoid seeming like they are starring at him. As Stein turns a corner, standing in front of him is LEGACY reporter, Andrew Kelley, who is not only not avoiding him, but appears to want to talk to him.

Andrew Kelley: Dan, this is the first STRIFE after your disappointing loss at Advent Empire, and you don't look to be taking the loss very well. I thought I might be able to get a few words with you about...

Stein looks at Kelley, cutting him off with a look. Dan leans in, getting close to the microphone, and exhales through his nose, projecting loudly into the microphone. Andrew looks flabbergasted, but mostly undeterred.

Andrew Kelley: Earlier today I spoke on the phone to Herbert Moxley about Advent Empire and he says that he thinks you've change your ways, and perhaps became an even more dangerous competitor thanks to your loss at the hands of Stephen Rawlings and the retaining Greyson Blade. What do you think?

Stein shakes his head.

Dan Stein: That's what he said, huh? Thinks I've changed my ways?

Stein stands motionless for a moment.

Dan Stein: I understand that Moxley isn't here yet tonight, some kind of flight delay… whatever. I'll have a response to his comment next week… in the middle of the ring. I want the whole world to see my response to him.

Dan starts to walk off, but Andrew decides to try to get further incite.

Andrew Kelley: Will you be talking about your reaction to being eliminated from the main event at ADVENT EMPIRE?

Stein looks at Kelley and sighs, continuing on down the hallway.

Andrew Kelley: I... guess not?

Hawkins Memorial Tournament Match
Tim Jones vs Osamu Hayashi

Mark Perletta: The third match of the Hawkins Memorial Tournament match was easily the most hard fought match to that point in the evening.

Joey C: That's probably because it was the first match of the evening that was evenly booked. Neither one of the men in this match is anything fantastic, but neither one of them are chumps, either.

Landon Savage: And in this contest you had two very different individuals squaring off against one another. The flamboyant and arrogant "Ladies Man" Tim Jones stepping into the ring against the reserved, humble tactician - Bushido Buntai member Osamu Hayashi.

Mark Perletta: Tim Jones tried to get this match started off fast with some quick, flashy moves, but Osamu Hayashi was able to avoid getting overwhelmed

Joey C: Not only was he able to avoid getting overwhelmed, but Osamu Hayashi looked a bit sharper than his usual outings here in LEGACY. Still not as sharp as his matches in Japan, still a bit to go to get back to that form, but a marked improvement over where he was.

Landon Savage: Tim Jones didn't have a stellar performance here tonight either, though. In this business a lot of what affects the performance of a wrestler is the level of competition they have been facing, and The Ladies Man didn't have very great opponent at the ppv. Aaron Beaudway isn't exactly a great "warm up" match for anybody, but at least he's an opponent. Osamu Hayashi has had more free time away from the ring as of late than a lot of people on this roster, Tim Jones especially, so that could lead to the further oxidation of his ring rust.

Mark Perletta: The what?!

Landon Savage: Rust gets worse due to a process known as oxidation, Perletta. Make analogies, they can even serve to make a guy like you sound smart.

Joey C: Yeah, thanks for the tip. How about we just get to the footage from the match?

Start : Footage from the Match

Tim Jones runs into the ropes, and on the return goes for a flying forearm. Hayashi sidesteps the attempt at the last minute and hops up, hitting a move similar to a drop-toe-hold, taking Jones out of the air and down to the mat.

Joey C: What an innovative move there by Osamu Hayashi!

Jones works his way up off the mat, but before he can start on a new offensive Osamu Hayashi starts laying into him with a bunch of kicks. After getting hit with a few, Tim Jones blocks one and then steps in and rakes the eyes of the Bushido Buntai member. The referee starts yelling at Jones for the illegal maneuver, but Hayashi steps in past the referee and goes for a standing enzuigiri. Tim Jones ducks the attempt, and as Osamu Hayashi gets up off the mat, The Ladies Man grabs him from behind and hits a side-suplex.

Mark Perletta: Tim Jones backing up... he could be going for it...

As soon as Osamu Hayashi gets to his feet, Jones steps in and goes for a SNAFU, but at the last possible moment Osamu sees it and he ducks, narrowly avoiding the kick. Spotting an opportunity, Osamu runs into the ropes to get some momentum, on the return... BAM! Tim Jones lunges in and this time he CONNECTS with the SNAFU, right to the jaw, laying Hayashi out on the mat. Dropping down to his knees, Jones makes the cover...

ONE..

TWO...

THREE.

Josephina Colbert: And your winner by PINFALL - Tim Jones

Mark Perletta: With that, Tim Jones finds his way into the second round, joining the likes of DJ Cassidy and James Win, not to mention the two individuals with first-round byes, Stephen Rawlings and Jake Dominion.

Joey C: At this point you'd have to think that Jake Dominion is the favorite to win it all.

Landon Savage: A lot of people are going to predict that Stephen Rawlings is going to win it, but I'd have to agree with you, Joey. Jake Dominion hasn't been given much opportunity to shine in singles matches here in LEGACY, but just look at how quickly he and Eric Wolfson dominated the World Tag Title scene. Jake Dominion is no stranger to singles competition, and I don't see anyone in this tournament who is going to present enough of a challenge to make me bet against him... and YES, I am a betting man, and my money WILL be on Dominion.

Mark Perletta: Whoever wins this tournament is going to have taken a huge step forward in their respective career, and you'd have to think that each and every person who is still in the tournament at this point is going to be watching the World Title situation closely. Speaking of which, coming out of ADVENT EMPIRE, one man felt as though he should be getting the next shot at Greyson Blade and the LEGACY World Title, and so he made it a point to address that here tonight.

Getting His Due

The camera cuts backstage where there’s a considerable amount of commotion being caused by Nicholas Creed. All eyes in the back hallway are locked on the former Tao of Valor Champion, who has been yelling and slamming doors open, in search of someone.

Nicholas Creed: WHERE IS HE?!

A few people cower in fear, trying to back away of the on-coming monster.

Nicholas Creed: WHERE IS GREYSON BLADE?!?!

A few more people back up against the wall, but one man walks down an adjoining hallway, having heard the commotion, and he walks directly towards Nicholas Creed. That man is Smith Cartwright.

Smith Cartwright: Creed, obviously you want something, I heard you mention the World Champion… you want to get his ear? You got something you want to say to him? Go out there in front of these rabid New York fans here in the Hammerstein Ballroom and you call Greyson Blade out.

Standing there motionless for a moment, intensely looking dead into Cartwright’s eyes, Creed then starts to slowly nod his head, and then he starts walking down the hall. In a matter of moments, he finds the gorilla position and heads towards the curtain. The view switches to a camera from the ringside area, and without any music or other fanfare, SIN walks out from the back and straight into the ring, the excitement level within the crowd increasing significantly.

Mark Perletta: Ladies and Gentlemen, Nicholas Creed is out here unscheduled, and we all know why he is here. He’s here to call out the LEGACY World Champion, Greyson Blade.

Joey C: Blade’s coming off a huge win at Advent Empire, and with that confidence and being on a roll, is now the time to challenge the champion?

Landon Savage: You are damn right it’s the correct time to challenge him Joey C. Stein lost his opportunity. Rawlings lost in his opportunity. The next guaranteed shot that we know about is for the coming tournament. Right now the playing field is open for the next challenger to step up and make his claim. Let’s hear what Creed as to say.

After moving straight down the isle, Creed walks around the ring, takes a microphone from the ring announcer, and hops up onto the apron and ducks into the ring. He doesn’t waste any time and starts right into what he has to say.

Nicholas Creed: Greyson Blade owes me a title shot. The front office OWES me a title shot. I played by their rules, defending the Tao of Valor title with those stipulation matches, earning those “tokens” or whatever they want to call it. They said if I wanted a World Title shot, all I’d need to do would be to win one more stipulation match. A last man standing match. At Advent Empire, I didn’t win that match. But at Rise of the Elite 3, I did.

Creed is absolutely fuming as he pauses for a moment.

Nicholas Creed: Back on June fourth, under this same championship reign, I beat Cronos Diamante and Voodoo in a “Last Man Standing” match. Did I get some golden oval which would put me one step closer to a World Title match? No, because those idiot consultants hadn’t come up with the concept yet. That’s their problem. I was told that if I won four stipulation matches, I’d have a title shot. I won my four stipulation matches, now I want my title shot. If the front office won’t give me my shot, then maybe Greyson Blade will be man enough to give me a shot. Blade, I know you’re back there… Come out here and tell me if you’re man enough to give me the shot that I deserve.

Creed waits and with each passing second he becomes infinitely more agitated.

Mark Perletta: Here’s our moment of truth gentlemen, and I can’t wait for Greyson Blade to answer the call.

Joey C: What makes you think he’s going to come out here and face down a dominant monster like Creed?

Landon Savage: I’m not the biggest fan of Greyson Blade, but he has never run from a fight.

Creed turns towards the entrance way, completely disgusted by the wait and he brings the mic to his lips to question the testicular fortitude of the LEGACY World Champion. Suddenly, “Outlaw Torn” hits the PA system of the Hammerstein Ballroom and the crowd ERRUPTS in cheers. The Outlaw himself appears at the entrance way and heads towards the ring to face Nicholas Creed.

Mark Perletta: The LEGACY World Champion is not only coming out here to answer Nicolas Creed, but he’s on his way towards the ring to do so FACE TO FACE!

Joey C: This could be huge, Perletta, this man isn’t like any of the others Blade’s has defended against before.

Landon Savage: Creed is on the same plane as Blade considering size and strength, and I dare say he might even be a bit stronger than Greyson, being that Creed is a bit younger.

The title belt is strapped around Greyson’s waist, and there is no wasted moment as he steps through the ropes and stands across the ring from the challenger. In one of Blade’s massive fists he carries his own microphone to address the challenger.

Greyson Blade: Alright, cut the damn music, and let’s get down to business here.

The World Champion waits, and his request is granted.

Greyson Blade: It seems everyone around here thinks they are owed something or some how that because they exist they deserve something. Dan Stein thought he deserved to be the champion. I beat his ass. Stephen Rawlings thought he deserved to hold the LEGACY title, and I beat his ass, which brings us to you, Creed.

You can see Creed getting angry with where the Champion is going with this, but he holds off on retaliating as Blade looks eyes with the monster.

Greyson Blade: You are claiming you deserve your shot at my title, even though you LOST at ADVENT EMPIRE. You are claiming that even though you didn't get the job done that you … are owed … a shot at my belt? You know what Creed? Most people and champions would come out here and tell you that you are full of shit.

With that The Outlaw approaches the challenger who is seething and gets very close to him with a smile on his face after what he just said.

Greyson Blade: Most people would come out here and tell you to go fuck yourself, but you know what? I’m not most people. I’m The Outlaw, and I don’t give two shits what you think you deserve, but anyone who wants to step into the ring with me and wants to end up like the Dan Steins, Marcus Marions and Stephen Rawlings of this world are more than welcome to do so. Nicolas Creed you are more than welcome to step into this ring with me and take your ass kicking like everyone else.

Creed’s jaw is set and he clenches his fists as Greyson looks him up and down.

Greyson Blade: In fact, how about we do this at the upcoming SuperCard, where I have been given the chance to pick my opponent. You called me out and showed that even though you aren’t bright, you do have a set of balls, and for that you’re going to get exactly what you wanted. You are going to get The Outlaw Greyson Blade in this ring for the LEGACY World Title, and at the end of the night you are going to see exactly why I am The Outlaw, and why I am still the one wearing this belt Case… Closed.

The fans say the “Case Closed” portion of the statement with Blade, who turns and backs away from Creed as Nicholas nods, while angry at the insults he smiles because he got what he wanted: A LEGACY World Title shot. The feed cuts back to a shot from the broadcast position.

Mark Perletta: Blade accepts the challenger of the former ToV champion, and I for one am excited to see this go down.

Joey C: Creed was a dominant ToV Champion and he could be the same as the LEGACY Champion too.

Landon Savage: This could be the biggest LEGACY World Championship match in our short history, Joey, and Greyson Blade has run his course. In accepting this match, he has accepted sure defeat!

Mark Perletta: In all honesty, Nicholas Creed has a fairly good argument for wanting this match. He was told that, if while holding the Tao of Valor Championship belt, if he were to win a 30 minute Iron Man Match, a Submissions Only Match, an Ultimate X Match, and a Last Man Standing Match, that he'd have a guaranteed World Title shot. At ADVENT EMPIRE, he had the opportunity to win a Last Man Standing Match, and if he had, he WOULD have been guaranteed a World Title Shot. He was unable to do so, but if you remember back to Rise of the Elite 3, holding a Television Title which was "rebranded" the Tao of Valor Championship, he did win a Last Man Standing Match.

Joey C: It basically just comes down to technicalities, but as you saw, Greyson Blade is letting Nicholas Creed step up to the plate.

Landon Savage: In a few weeks when we get to the SuperCard, we will find out whether or not that was a good idea to accept the challenge, but as you heard him say, he IS the OUTLAW, so in order to keep up his "not afraid of anything" persona, he had to accept that match.

Mark Perletta: It should be a great one, and I can't wait to see who comes out on top.

Changes Have Been Made

The camera cuts backstage where we find Osamu Hayashi sitting in a chair, his head bowed slightly foreward. He is obviously ashamed of his loss tonight, and he is ready to hear whatever his manager and team mate have to say. Standing in front of him is Shinya Nori, and beside Shinya is Katsuro Yoshida, both of whom have stern looks on their faces. Although he is speaking in Japanese, there are subtitles across the bottom of the screen.

Shinya Nori: This is not the kind of result that Bushido Buntai are used to seeing out of you. Since we came to the United States, you have been a lesser man, someone not worthy of standing beside the likes of Katsuro Yoshida.

A small nod of acknowledgement and agreement from Osamu Hayashi.

Shinya Nori: Back in Japan, had you performed like this over the same length of time, you would no longer be a member of the Bushido Buntai. But, taking into account the adjustments which have been made in making the transition into this organization, I have decided that it is not all your fault.

Shinya takes an envelope out of one of his pockets and hands it to Osamu Hayashi.

Shinya Nori: Arrangements have been made. If they do not remedy your problems inside the ring, then you will be removed from the Bushido Buntai and a replacement will be found.

Once again Osamu Hayashi nods in acknowledgment, and then he opens the envelope, pulls out a piece of paper and starts reading it to himself. His eyes light up, his entire demeanor changes, and a smile comes across his face. At that point the view switches back to the broadcast position.

Landon Savage: It would appear that whatever was contained on that letter, Osamu Hayashi considers it to be good news.

Joey C: Well if Osamu Hayashi has been unhappy so far in LEGACY, that certainly might be affecting his in-ring performance. Whatever was written on that paper certainly seems to have cheered him up, so maybe now we'll start to see the Bushido Buntai that was so effective back in Japan.

Mark Perletta: If the Bushido Buntai are able to return to form and be as dangerous and cohesive as they were prior to making the move to the United States, that could seriously change the landscape of things here in LEGACY. Coming up next is not only tonight's main event, but it's also Herb Moxley's first attempt at defending the Tao of Valor Championship. His opponent, Matt Larcen.

Tao of Valor Match
Matt Larcen vs Herb Moxley (c)

Mark Perletta: Prior to the main event getting started, there was some concern backstage over whether or not Moxley was going to make it to the show in time for the main event...

Joey C: ...and furthermore, there was question as to what shape he would be in after the damage he sustained at ADVENT EMPIRE.

Landon Savage: A smart move or not, Herb showed up in time to get to the ring, and Matt Larcen wouldn't have to wait any longer to get his shot.

Mark Perletta: At the beginning of this match, it was obvious that Herb Moxley was still not at 100%, and Matt Larcen went to work on Moxley, trying to get a fast start.

Joey C: It was a smart move on Larcen's part, as it allowed him to control the entire first half of the match.

Landon Savage: He made it this far, though, and so the goal-oriented nerd kicked it up a notch and did everything he could to keep the Tao of Valor Championship in his possession.

Mark Perletta: As Herb Moxley pulled himself back into the match, you could see the frustration growing on the face of Matt Larcen, who looked very frustrated that Herb kicked out of his pinfall attempts. The two continued fighting back and forth, however, neither one letting up a bit.

Landon Savage: Based on how Moxley looked early on and how Larcen took advantage of things, I thought Matt was going to make short work of "Herbie J", but this match went on a lot longer than I figured it would.

Joey C: After basically sacrificing his World Tag Team Titles to get the Tao of Valor Championship, Moxley apparently was going to do whatever he had to do to keep from losing the belt in his first title defense. Matt Larcen had a hard fought match against Jack Henderson at ADVENT EMPIRE to even GET this title shot, so he didn't want to put that to waste either.

Mark Perletta: As the end of the match approached, it was either man's match... and championship... to win.

Start : Footage from the Match

Moxley blocks a punch from Matt Larcen and then fires in with a kick to the gut, doubling Matt over. Herb steps in, takes him by the head and then lifts him up into a vertical suplex, but instead of taking him up and all the way over, Moxley pauses for a moment, pivots around and then drops Larcen forward, sending him down to the mat onto his stomach. Herb gets up immediately and runs into the ropes on the opposite side of the ring, and then on the return he does a foreward roll, springing up out of it and going for a splash onto his opponent... but Larcen rolls out of the way.

Joey C: HA! Herb Moxley missing his... whatever he calls that move, and Moxley might not have to worry about defending the Tao of Valor Championship on the next STRIFE against his tag team partner... because at this rate, Matt Larcen might be the one carrying the gold!

Mark Perletta: Now that he's on the offensive, it looks as though Matt Larcen is going to go right back to work on Moxley.

Matt Larcen gets to his feet and immediately starts laying into Herb with a rapid series of kicks and stomps, keeping Moxley down on the mat. Once he feels as though he's done enough damage, Matt Larcen takes a few steps over and then hops up onto the middle rope in the corner, then hops up onto the top turnbuckle. He glances backwards, measures Moxley up, then flings himself backwards, twisting, going for a senton splash... but Moxley moves out of the way.

Landon Savage: Herb Moxley EXTREMELY lucky he was able to move out of the way of that senton splash. Had Larcen hit it, he would've been in prime position to win this match, but that's why they call it a "high risk maneuver" in the first place.

Mark Perletta: Both men now struggling to get to their feet...

Herb Moxley is the first of the two to get back to a vertical base, but Matt Larcen isn't far behind. Having rolled a bit on the mat after landing painfully, Larcen finds himself halfway across the ring from his opponent, and as he staggers in to go after Moxley, Matt Larcen is met with a surprise as he's nailed in the head with the move Moxley calls the Super Sweet Ninja Kick. The fans go wild, and despite having been kicked in the head, Matt Larcen struggles and tries to get back to his feet. Moxley takes advantage of the opportunity and signals for the Dragon Slayer, exciting the fans even more. Taking Larcen by the head, Moxley moves towards the corner, climbs the turnbuckle, pushes off, twists and flips over... and NAILS IT! He quickly hooks the leg, going for the pinfall...

ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!!!

Josephina Colbert: Here's your winner by PINFALL and STILL Tao of Valor Champion - Herb Moxley!

Mark Perletta: Herb Moxley is successful in his first defense of the Tao of Valor Championship, and out from the back, here comes DJ Cassidy.

Joey C: Oh now here we go... this is going to be good...

Mark Perletta: If you're trying to insinuate that DJ Cassidy is coming out here to do anything other than start the celebration with his tag team partner, then you're wrong to do so.

Landon Savage: Cassidy getting in the ring now, and this is a "make it or break it" moment for his career... make the right choice, Cassidy...

Getting into the ring, DJ Cassidy, a huge smile on his face, makes his way directly towards his tag team partner. Opening up his arms wide, Cassidy walks up and gives Herb Moxley a huge hug, after which Moxley climbs to the second turnbuckle to once again get a pop from the live crowd. The referee is handed the Tao of Valor Championship Belt from the time-keeper and starts to walk across the ring towards Herb Moxley. DJ Cassidy steps up and takes the belt, then turns and waits for Moxley to come back down from the turnbuckle.

Joey C: Here we go... here's the chance...

When Herb Moxley comes down off the turnbuckle, DJ Cassidy walks up to him, looks down at the Tao of Valor Championship, and then after a slightly tense moment, reaches up and places the belt over Herb's shoulder, taking Moxley's hand and raising it into the air one last time before the screen fades to black.
