The LEGACY Tour logo shows up on a black screen and it fades out as "Awake" by Godsmack starts to play, and clips from the past two shows fade in and out. First we see a random assortment of images from the Sky High Cup match at Rise of the Elite 3 fade in over top of each other every other second, then black and white images from the Falls Count Anywhere match between Creed, Voodoo, and Cronos are shown. Next we see images from last week's show including Katsuro Yoshida locking Conor into a painfull submission, followed by an image of DJ Cassidy getting a pinfall over John Thomas. Footage from John Thomas throwing a chair in his locker room and then slamming the door is next. From there we see Greyson Blade and Marcus Marion battling it out at Rise of the Elite 3 in a cage, followed by clips of Dan Stein and Conor McLellan working together to get a pinfall on Chris Turner at the pay per view. We then see images of Rawlings and Turner arguing from last week, followed up directly by black and white footage of the match between Gryffin Anselm and Chivalric from Rise of the Elite 3. Diego de Cardenas dropkicks Jimmy Smith as he flies off the top rope, then Creed hits James Win with the REIGN OF SIN and hoists the World Television Title. Aaron Beaudway hits a low blow followed directly by a piledriver on Osamu Hayashi, Dominion and Wolfson have their hands raised in victory over John Thomas and Loco Martinez. John Page pins Tim Jones, and the final footage clips we see are of Greyson Blade hoisting the title high above his head at Rise of the Elite 3, then of him talking in the ring last week, and then the parting shot is of Dan Stein and Conor McLellan standing over him with chairs in their hands from the end of last week's show. TONIGHT'S LINEUP
The show opens on a shot of Mark Perletta and Joey C sitting behind a desk that resembles what you would see anchors sit behind in the studio of a sports news program such as Sports Center. Behind them is an elaborate backdrop which includes the yellow golden LEGACY logo, and neither one of them looks extremely happy, but they don't look worried like they were last week. More... upset, frustrated, but they still seem professional. Mark Perletta: Welcome to another LEGACY Tour Stop Recap Show, I'm Mark Perletta and sitting beside me this week as we come to you from Detroit Rock City is the one and only Joey C. Joey C: Another day, another dollar, but still no name for our weekly show Mark Perletta: Don't even get me started on that, Joey, besides, I have a feeling we'll know more about what's going on with all of that coming up here later in the show, but first, let's tell everyone what else they're going to get to see. Joey C: Out of the four championships this organization has, only one of them is on the line tonight, the World Television Title being on the line just about every weekly show we'll ever have, but there are two non-title matches coming up. Mark Perletta: National Champion Gryffin Anselm steps into the ring with "The Ladies Man" Tim Jones and the very exciting Diego de Cardenas in a non-title match up, and you'd have to think that if one of these guys can get a win over Gryffin, that would put them into a great spot to get a shot at his belt. Joey C: Our main event tonight is also a non-title match, as the front office saw what happened at the end of last week's show and decided to let Dan Stein get into the ring with Greyson Blade one-on-one, giving Stein the opportunity to prove whether or not he is World Heavyweight Title material, answering Blade's call from last week for this roster to step up. Mark Perletta: Well as you'll see later tonight, Dan Stein isn't the only one who wants to step up and get into the LEGACY World Title picture, but more on that when we get there. A huge show tonight with not only those three matches but also a Hardcore Straight-Jacket Match with one man's contract on the line and a match between Moxley and Dominion, since we don't want to run too far over lets get right down to it as we hear from a man we haven't seen since Rise of the Elite 3 almost three weeks ago. The Former Champ Speaks
The cameras open up and what see is a percuilar sight. Two weeks off of dropping the World title to Greyson Blade, The Revolutionary steps out of a white stretch limo wearing a custom made white Armani suit which compliments both the white interior and exterior of the limo wonderfully. Marions' face is still slightly bruised after the hellacious war in the cage at Rise of the Elite 3. Marion looks out into the halls and sees a man holding a clip-board and approaches him... MARCUS MARION: Hey, pencil-pusher, Cartwright's office, where is it? Make it snappy. The man peruses his clipboard and notices the obnoxious former World Champion and points down the hall. MAN: Third door on the right, Mr. Marion. Marion follows the directions and finds Cartwright sitting in his office and rudely walks right in, approaching the front office and addresses him sarcastically... MARCUS MARION: OK, news geek. Let's get this thing going, I don't have all day. I've got two runny nose managers at home, in desperate need of attention. Smith Cartwright looks up just as Marcus Marion takes a seat across the desk from him. Smith Cartwright: Now are you sure you want to do this here? We can still go out to the ring and do this in front of the crowd, we scheduled this for the opening segment, the ring's free for... Marion waves off the possibility with a look on his face that says he thinks the alternative that Smith Cartwright just presented him with is completely absurd. MARCUS MARION: Of course I want to do this. Now can we PLEASE get this thing started? For such a "bright" man, you sure ask a lot of stupid questions. Be a ray of sunshine and fire away. Fact is, I will NOT give these... people... these... Michigonian morons the satisfaction of laying there eyes on me this week. So, we are going to sit cozy in your little five car pileup. Marion making reference to the stack of papers lying dormant on Cartwright's desk. Smith Cartwright: How does it feel to enter the arena of a LEGACY Tour show knowing that there's no chance you're going to be walking out of this building as the World Heavyweight Champion? Marion looks at Cartwright with an awry glance. But instead of giving him a hard time about the question, he answers the question gently. MARCUS MARION: Well, it's different. Definately different.
You have to look at Smith Cartwright: Tell us what you thought of the cage match at Rise of the Elite 3. MARCUS MARION: It was, what it was. A "good" little match. My neck is still sore as hell, from being rammed repeatedly into that cage. But 'dem the breaks. Blade walked out with the title. Good for him. He's still NEVER pinned me in a no-gimmicks match. When I signed on to defend the LEGACY Championship against him, ask me how many people thought I was crazy. EVERYONE, because a cage is his element. Its where he thrives. But guess what? I took all that negativity and channelled it. I still single handedly STOLE the show. I might've went home a few pounds lighter that night. But I'm still the measuring stick in this organization. Tell all your friends about me. Smith Cartwright: How has the injury to Susan Rhodes affected you? Marion tries to 'choke' back tears. But you can tell he's really trying on this one. MARCUS MARION: It hurt alot. Like burying your dog. Smith Cartwright: Is there any update you can give
us on the medical condition of Susan MARCUS MARION: Susan is just fine... I'm just fine, too, by the way, and thanks for asking. Thanks for showing YOUR former World Heavyweight Champion some compassion, thanks for caring for him, not JUST his valet who you so obviously want to have wild and passionate love-making sessions with that are clearly never going to happen. After all the blood, sweat, and tears I've shed for you... for all of you... you see my face still bruised up like this and you ask about her? Marion nods. MARCUS MARION: That's just great. She's been told not to escort me to ringside for awhile. That she needs to rest up. She's also been diagnosed with some Post-traumatic stress disorder. Pane glass windows shattering sends her off the deep end, and I just can't afford to put her in a position where she might hear something to cause her to relive that traumatic experience again and again... and again. Smith Cartwright: You have a guaranteed rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship owed to you, when do you see yourself using that title shot? MARCUS MARION: Who knows. We'll just have to see about
that. Did you not see Nicole and I say "We have plans to carry
out?" I'm not going to play sooth-sayer and let my Smith looks a bit taken aback at Marion's comments about Greyson Blade, a now 6-Time World Heavyweight Champion in various organizations, but he just shrugs off the comments and continues. Smith Cartwright: What do you have to say to your critics who say you're just a mid-carder who became a main eventer solely because of the people who have left this organization? Marion strokes his chin, and runs his hand through that trademark blonde hair of his. His fratboy yellow Ralph Lauren polo shirt, stands out almost equally as much as his hair. MARCUS MARION: Critics? I'm not a damn movie. I HAVE
no critics. I learned one important lesson in this business. The higher
you climb on the corporate ladder their is always Marion leans in a foot closer. MARCUS MARION: Read my lips: I DON'T care what anyone has to say. I'm not missing any sleep at night. If I'm on top soley for the fact that a few "main-eventers" left then....why aren't they still here? Devastation... Jonny Johnson... Christopher Davis... hell, Rocky Stellar? Marion raises his eyebrow, waiting to see if Cartwright has a response, but before Smith can say anything, Marcus continues. MARCUS MARION: It's simple. They were past their primes years ago, just nobody had the heart to tell 'em. Cept me. Hey "Defiler"... catchy nick by the way... Blow me. Blow me good. The sun rises and sets on The Revolutionary. It's not my fault that the world stopped caring about you the second they saw you had strings. The same goes for ANYONE, for that matter, who can look themselves in the mirror in the morning and say with a straight face that they don't believe that I'm the center of the universe. Marion leans back in his chair and puts his hands on the arms of the seat and starts to get up. MARCUS MARION: If you can make the time, come see me outside a Syracuse nightclub... and make sure to bring those two thugs of yours. This interview, like your career, Cartwright, is over. Marion gets up and storms away, and Cartwright looks annoyed that Marcus just got up and left, but he looks somewhat relieved to be rid of him. Back On Tour
We’re backstage and the camera cuts to one of the back doors of the arena, and who should walk in but none other then the recently fired ring announcer, Jen X, who is wearing a modest one-piece floral summer dress. The crowd buzzes at the sight of her. She seems uncomfortable and as the camera zooms out we see one half of the world tag team champions, Dan Stein, smirking at her as he spots her walk in and the crowd boo’s the very disliked member of Disorderly Youth. Dan Stein: Hey Itchy-Britches, enjoying street walking? Selling Oranges? Whoring your sexy self out? How are Smokey the Pimp and the rest of his traveling gang of cock goblins? Back to pick up a pay check? They can mail that sorta thing to you, ya know, no need to follow the Tour around like some lost puppy. Stein grins and Jen X frowns at him, but she says nothing. Herbert Moxley storms into sight from around the corner and the crowd pops as he stands between Jen X and Dan Stein with a very annoyed look on his face. Herb Moxley: Back off, Dan. She's here with me - and unlike you she's not into selling herself - or selling out, for that matter. Stein looks a bit surprised, both by the revelation that Jen X is there WITH Herb, and by Moxley's... Moxy. Stein: Well, if it isn't the Virgin King. Hey, man, at least you know you're sure to score tonight. Hell, the entire TTW roster tapped Jen's bulbous ass at least once. But don't worry, thunder thighs, when Moxley blows his load, I've got a condom, a douche, and a paper bag with your name on it. Jen looks extremely embarrassed and disgusted, and she gets red in the face and turns to Herbert with a look of desperation. Jen X: Herb, you know that’s not true... Now Herbert starts to get visibly angry and stands closer to Stein, on the brink of getting in his face, which seems to make Jen very nervous. Moxley: When did you become such a disrespectful prick? I don't remember Jen EVER doing ANYTHING to you to be treated like that. I think its best you back off or I'm going to do something YOU'LL regret. Dan Stein, unphased by the nerd’s aggression, rolls his eyes. Stein: Please, Nerdboy. I've got bigger, better smelling fish to fry than “X's” cellulite filled ass. Go watch some Anime and beat off to dragon sex. You two go have some fun; Dan Stein's got show someone the REAL future of LEGACY. Stein then shoves Moxley back against the wall before making kissy faces at Jen X. The crowd pops once again as Herb lets out a grunt of pain, he takes a quick step forward but Jen X quickly places a hand on his wrist, imploring him not to retaliate. Herb looks into her eyes a moment, understanding, before turning back to Stein. Moxley: Oh that’s right. Tonight’s the night Greyson is going to end your wrestling, any hopes you ever had of becoming a World Champion AND your modeling career. Hey, maybe when he's done smashing your face up you'll look like a troll... and then we can do re-enactment scenes from Lord of the Rings together! Stein: Please, “Herb”. The only thing that Old Man is going to do is break a hip. After I beat him, I'll dub myself the Lord of the Ring, and you can reenact losing to Jake Dominion or Nicholas Creed with me any time you want to. Moxley: DJ and I will be happy to take those tag titles off you and Conor. Any time you want to go 2 on 2 with the nerds, we'll be there faster then a Chocobo on speed. Speaking of speed, how is Conor doing? Last I heard he was digging through the dumpster because he heard someone dropped a Tylenol in there. Stein: Fuck if I care. He can be stoned out of his mind, drunk off of his ass, and we'll still run through the tag division with these belts on our shoulders. That's the thing, Moxley. You can have Jen-X. You can have hopes and dreams of singles titles, you can even boast about your tag title reign, but you'll still NEVER... EVER... Be as great of a wrestler as I am. Now, go play some board games, get lost in a cartoon, or imagine yourself as Wolverine from X-Men, I don't give a shit. Just get over your fantasy of beating me, Moxley. One on one, two on two, you'll never beat me. You'll never beat me at anything. Stein starts to walk away, but then stops. Stein: Heh, except that childish role-playing shit. Ta-Ta. Stein looks at Moxley, then Jen X, and makes his way down the hall. Both Moxley and Jen X seem shaken-up from the encounter. Moxley: Wow... I can't believe he's still sore over doing so poorly at D&D... It’s not my fault he kept losing hit-points by having his characters attempt to sleep with every orcish female we came across. Jen X gives a nervous giggle and the two walk off in the opposite direction, and the camera changes views now to a shot of the ring. Non-Title Open Challenge Match
Tim Jones vs Diego de Cardenas vs Gryffin Anselm Mark Perletta: Earlier in the week Gryffin Anselm issued an open challenge, offering to fight any two individuals in a three-way dance. Needless to say it didn't take long for those spots to get filled. Joey C: When Diego de Cardenas came out to the ring, you could really see how focussed he was, like he knew full well what a huge opportunity this match was for him. Mark Perletta: Tim Jones, on the other hand, looked like he was just coming out to the ring to have fun and entertain the crowd, and when the match got started Tim Jones was hardly paying attention to his opponents, and he paid dearly for it as Anselm targeted him from the very start. Joey C: Those first few minutes of the match it didn't look like Tim Jones was having fun at all, and if it weren't for Diego de Cardenas being in there and locking up with Anselm, too, it could've been a very bad night for Tim Jones. Mark Perletta: Inside that ring you have to be attentive at all times, and that's something that Diego de Cardenas and Gryffin Anselm did really well in this match up. Joey C: Sure, Tim Jones got in his fair share of offense, but the rest of the time he was almost like a pinball, being bounced back and forth between Anselm and Cardenas, each one of them getting their shots in on him. Mark Perletta: One of the shots that Tim Jones will almost definitely be feeling tomorrow was when Anselm sent him towards Diego de Cardenas with an irish whip, and Cardenas leaped up into the air and took Jones out of the ring with a flying headscissors, landing The Ladies Man right down onto his shoulder on the outside. Joey C: Although it didn't keep him from playing a part in the finish of this match, you could tell that when he hit the ground, that did something to his shoulder that he never fully recovered from. Mark Perletta: A lot of the guys backstage will tell you about various injuries they've sustained in the middle of matches, and while it hurts a bit when it happens, once that adrenaline starts pumping and the match continues on, they forget about it, blocking out the pain, usually for a good ten or fifteen minutes after the match is over and they're back in the locker room. Joey C: Well with Tim Jones on the outside, Anselm and Cardenas really went at it, battling toe-to-toe, and I was really shocked at just how well Diego was holding his own in the ring despite not being anywhere near as tall as Gryffin and being just a little more than half his size! Mark Perletta: The Mexican sensation got a couple of nearfalls on Anselm, and after each one Gryffin appeared to just get angrier, but Cardenas used the rage and his speed to his advantage, keeping Gryffin off of any type of gameplan he might've had by playing Stick-and-Run, which only angered Anselm further. Joey C: Who knows what might've happened had Tim Jones not gotten back into the ring, but when he did he put a stop to what Diego de Cardenas was doing and let Gryffin back into the match. Mark Perletta: Despite being out there with a shoulder injury, when Tim Jones got into the ring he was successful in wearing down both Cardenas and Anselm, albeit with a slightly limited attack due to his shoulder, and as the match started to wind down, it was anyone's for the taking. Start : Footage from the Match Tim Jones hammers in on the back of Gryffin Anselm with forearm shots, the Ladies Man doing whatever he can to keep the big man from standing back up. Jones then moves in and starts to hammer in on Gryffin's face, but after he lands a second shot, Anselm grabs him by the arm, turns a bit and then shoves The Ladies Man hard into the corner with a whip. Gryffin then gets up to his feet and charges in towards the corner where he just sent Tim but he's taken down a drop-toe-hold from Diego de Cardenas. Mark Perletta: Nicely done by Diego to create an opportunity for himself with that drop toe hold onto an unsuspecting Gryffin Anselm, and he follows it up with a standing elbow drop into the small of Anselm's back. Joey C: Now Cardenas is going in and working on Tim Jones now, the fans counting along as he lays fists into The Ladies Man's face... and that really doesn't make sense to me. Why would these fans, most of whom are fans to some degree of Tim Jones, chant along with him getting punched in the face? Mark Perletta: Fans just love to feel like they're a part of these matches, I guess. After completing all ten of his mounted punches, Cardenas drops back down to the mat, holds on to Jones' shoulders, hops up and puts his feet on The Ladies Man's knees, then he rolls backwards and sends Jones towards the middle of the ring with a monkey flip. Instead of crashing down to the mat, Jones lands on his feet, only to be grabbed from behind by Gryffin, lifted up over his head into a Gorilla Press, then SLAMMED down to the mat into a powerslam! Joey C: An unwittingly clever double-team maneuver there by Anselm and Cardenas, and you know, these two would make a really good tag team together. Mark Perletta: That they would, although from hearing both of them talk, they have very different aspirations right now, but down the road it's a team I'd definitely be interested in seeing, and I think they'd be very competitive together. As Gryffin gets back up to his feet after slamming Jones to the mat, Cardenas runs in and dropkicks Anselm in the knee, taking him back down to the mat. From there Cardenas turns and runs into the ropes, rebounding back with more momentum, but before he can get in another move, Anselm takes three quick steps in his direction and LEVELS him with a clothesline! Signalling that the end is near, Anselm picks Diego up off the mat and irish whips him into the ropes. On the return Gryffin charges in looking for his spear to start his finisher combo, but as he does Diego leapfrogs him just in time... but as he lands... Joey C: SNAFU from Tim Jones!!! Mark Perletta: Tim Jones just got to his feet, he saw Diego headed towards him, he stepped in and just nailed his superkick to the jaw flawlessly! Throwing his hands up into the air in a quick little celebration over knocking out his opponent, Tim Jones turns around to look for his other opponent, and as he does he's hoisted up onto Gryffin Anselm's shoulders into a fireman's carry position... and then he's WHIPPED over and DRIVEN down hard into the mat with a Michinoku Driver, Gryffin hooking the leg and going for the pinfall after hitting the DEVASTATOR!!! ONE! TWO!! THREE!!! Winner by PINFALL : William "Gryffin" Anselm Mark Perletta: Strong win there by Gryffin Anselm, and in the end being fully aware of where everyone was in the ring really paid off for the veteran champion, picking up another victory. Joey C: Gryffin has been on quite a tear so far in LEGACY, and that's why when he got a microphone after the match, I was really interested in what he had to say, little did I know how much of an impact what he had to say was going to make. "No Limits"
After the referee raises Gryffin's hand, he walks over to the edge of the ring and starts saying something to one of the ring attendants. After a bit of confusion amongst the ring attendants who don't know what's going on, the attendant who Anselm was apparently talking to stands up, picks up a velvet bag, then walks over to the ring and reaches up and hands Gryffin a mic and the velvet bag. Taking the two items, Anselm walks towards the middle of the ring, and by now he's completely alone in there. Slightly out of breath from his match, Anselm slows his breathing but addresses the crowd anyway. Gryffin Anselm: What I did tonight was the same thing I did at Rise of the Elite 3 against Chivalric. I proved that in regular matches, I can't be touched. What I need is something more, something bigger. What I need is for the chains to be busted, the shackles that bind to be released. What I need is for there to be no more limits. Not on me... not on any of my opponents. I need fighting to be what it was meant to be, what it is on the streets. Use what you've got, do what you can, win by any means necessary. Gryffin lifts up the velvet bag into the air. Gryffin Anselm: And that's what this is about. Reaching into the bag, Anselm takes a championship belt and places it over his shoulder. Gryffin Anselm: Those bitch boy "consultants" have been looking around, asking around, trying to do whatever they can to find suggestions they can give to the front office as a way to improve ratings, and when I got word of what they were up to, I decided to sit them down and I gave them the suggestion that's going to prove to be the biggest thing this organization has seen... ever. Gryffin taps the gold faceplate. Gryffin Anselm: I told them that if they wanted to revolutionize what was going on around here, they had to let real fighting come to LEGACY, and I told them I was the ring person to spearhead that effort. Given my background, they knew I was the best person to represent the new division, and so when I recommended to them that the National Title should be renamed, their pens couldn't write fast enough. So now, instead of having a belt that supposedly represents our Nation, instead of having some belt that gets overshadowed from the premise by the two other belts in this organization, we have a belt whose name means something. Now we have the No Limits Championship, and if someone feels like trying to take it from me... Let them just try it. Picking the belt up over his head one more time, Gryffin exits the ring and walks to the back, a pleased look on his face as he holds one hand on the championship belt. Phoning It In
The scene cuts back to the view of the recap position where Mark Perletta and Joey C sit behind their broadcast desk. Mark Perletta: Folks, next up is something that's completely new to the LEGACY Tour, and for the first time we are going to have someone live on the telephone for an interview. Whether or not we do this sort of thing again depends a lot on how things go here for more reason than one, so I hope this goes well. It can be argued that these three men have made a bigger impact on LEGACY since Rise of the Elite 3 than anyone else. They are the Image and Branding Consultants - Douglas, Dominic, and Wellington. Welcome guys to the LEGACY Tour Stop Recap show. Perletta and Joey wait for a moment and then the phone crackles a bit and then a voice comes through the other end. Voice: Wellington here, can you hear me? Mark Perletta: Loud and clear. Wellington: Which one of you is this? Perletta looks a bit confused but he responds anyway. Mark Perletta: This is Mark Perletta but we're doing the recap show, so we're both here right now, myself and Joey C. Wellington: Hold up a sec there, Mark, going to switch over to speakerphone on the Blackberry... There's a moment's pause and Joey C looks over at Mark Perletta as if to say "Is this for real?" and then a voice comes through again. Wellington: Alright so lets get things rolling, what's your first question. From the look on Perletta's face you can tell that he can't believe what he's hearing, but he decides to just roll with it and move right along. Mark Perletta: Well like I mentioned just before we connected through to the three of you, you all have made quite the impact so far on our organization, first with the firing of Jen X and the changing of the show name... Joey C: That's something a lot of people want to know, what IS the new name of the show? Dominic: Yeah, about that... The FX Network officials have apparently been wondering about that too, and uh... Yeah, so we're putting in a lot of hours on doing market research, and... um... Douglas: We've also been doing focus groups and "man on the street" polling among some other techniques... Wellington: Above all else you can be pleased to note that although we weren't there tonight, we were definitely there in spirit while putting in the billable hours here off-site. Perletta starts slowly nodding his head with a bit of disbelief at how this interview is going so far. Mark Perletta: From what I heard, apparently a lot of people backstage were disappointed that the three of you weren't actually AT the show. Dominic: More people looking for fashion advice? Mark Perletta: Actually the idea I got from people is that they wanted to talk to you about the fact that you caused the firing of Jen X. Douglas: Well technically your front office fired Jen X, we just simply made the recommendation, just like we made the recommendation for them to change the name of the National Title to the No Limits Championship Belt, something that we feel is going to be absolutely huge for LEGACY. Mark Perletta: So what other changes are in store, or have we seen about the extent of the creativity from you three? Dominic: I'm sorry, who is this again? Mark Perletta: This is Mark Perletta, and to whom am I speaking now? Dominic: This is Dominic. Marky, let me make something clear, what we're doing for LEGACY is not only providing opportunities for your organization to grow and create a name for itself, but we're also helping make sound business decisions in conjunction with those branding items. We work for a multi-national consulting organization who has worked with not only companies on the Fortune 500 list, but we've also worked with other sports organizations. We know what we're doing and I hope you're not questioning that. Joey C: No, I don't think Mark was trying to question your decisions, what I think he was wondering was what other changes might we be expecting in the near future? Wellington: Just in the past couple of minutes I've written a few things down that I'll talk about with Douglas and Dominic between now and next week's show, and I think it's safe to say that some things are definitely going to continue to change, and just like the Jen X situation, some people are going to be upset by the changes, but with each change comes a new opportunity for growth. Mark Perletta: And where exactly is Jen X's replacement? Douglas: We're still doing interviews of various potential ring announcers because finding the right person is essential, because this person is going to represent your organization as the main person to interact with your consumers, the fans, before and after each and every match. You want that person to be the right person, the last thing we want is another situation where you get the wrong person for the job and end up with another Jen X situation. Mark Perletta: A majority of the people I've talked to felt like Jen X represented LEGACY really well so I don't think... Wellington: Right, well that's why they have US do the thinking and YOU do the RECAP'ing. If you were capable of doing both, then maybe you wouldn't have had an organization with global aspirations devoting one of its three singles championship belts solely to the United States. Mark Perletta: I'm sorry, but I was under the impression that Gryffin Anselm is the one who came up with the concept of re-inventing the National Title division into the No Limits Division, was he not? I mean if the three of you want to take sole credit for that, I can let Gryffin Anselm know that you 're claiming he lied to all of the people watching our show when he introduced the belt... Douglas: No, no that'll be quite alright. It WAS, in fact, Gryffin's idea to re-invent the championship belt he's holding, but we were the ones who approached him, knowing that a veteran like Gryffin Anselm who has a different approach to this business than some people. Wellington: Yeah, we CHOSE him because we knew that he would be a valuable resource to utilize. Doing what we do is about gathering the best set of requirements and understanding the business the best we can and then trying to have the best of the ideas implemented. THAT is how we help people set their brand apart from other brands. That is why we were hired, and in the long run, I think you're going to find that the changes we make are going to make a lasting, positive impact on this organization. Mark Perletta rolls his eyes. Mark Perletta: Well obviously you all were hired to provide a service, one whose results will be realized over time, and Joey and I were hired to provide a different service, one that we see results from on a weekly basis. Now since part of my job is to keep the show moving along, it's therefore my duty to help push this interview along, and since we're not really getting many answers, I'll just cut right to the questions we wanted some answers to. Joey looks a bit surprised at Perletta's attitude, but Mark keeps rolling with the questions. Mark Perletta: Yes or no, we will be getting a new name for the weekly shows prior to next week's recap taping? Douglas: I can definitively say 'maybe'. Joey shakes his head at the very non-definitive answer. Mark Perletta: Yes or no, next week's show will have a new ring announcer? Wellington: Absolutely. We've narrowed down the choices to... Having heard all he needed to hear, Perletta cuts off the consultant mid-sentence. Mark Perletta: Yes or no, there are going to be more changes to the championship title names? Wellington: As I was saying before you cut me off... He does it again. Mark Perletta: I'm sorry I think there's a slight problem with our connection, I'll ask again: Championship title names, we've got the World Title, the World Television Title, and the No Limits Title. Are there any plans to change the names of any of those belts in the near future? Douglas: As of now I would bet against it, but you should never say never. Joey C: How about on-air talent? We saw the addition of Andrew Kelley to the team. Seems like you have a complete group compiled, no need for any additions or subtractions... Wellington: Oh TRUST me, in the next six days that is going to be a topic that we discuss at length, and I think you'll have your answer by next week. Joey looks over at Perletta, who seems unphased. Mark Perletta: And last but not least, do you have any plans for any cross-promotional ad-campaigns or anything to help extend the footprint of the brand to help reach new markets who might be currently unaware or unfamiliar with LEGACY but whom might be interested in what we have to offer? Dominic: That's a good idea, something that I think we should take into consideration... Douglas: That's absolutely one of the things we are going to be considering further, and it is definitely something we've put some time into thinking about already. We have a meeting set up for... early next week with the FX Network to discuss areas that they know of as well as to present some of the ideas we have, and from there you should see the footprint of LEGACY continue to grow. Mark Perletta: Well that's all the time we have for you right now... Mark reaches down and hits a button on the desk in front of him, a grin forming on his face. Mark Perletta: SO sorry you couldn't be here with us in person tonight. After a quick grin from Mark Perletta, the footage takes us backstage. Preparation?
As Jake Dominion walks backstage approaching the gorilla press for his match which is coming up next, a man approaches him wearing khaki pants and a brown jacket over a white dress shirt with a really cheap tie on, a microphone in hand. On his jacket lapel is a "Hi, My Name Is" sticker with "Andrew Kelley" written on it. Andrew Kelley: Hi, Jake Dominion? I'm the new LEGACY backstage interviewer, Andrew Kelley, I wanted to get a few words with you before your match. Jake Dominion: You better make it quick, kid, my match is next. Kelley looks extremely nervous. Andrew Kelley: I know, and I'm really sorry about the timing, but I got lost on the way to the arena and... well, nevermind. Since Herb Moxley is different from the type of opponents you're probably used to, how did you alter your preparations this week when you found out who you were facing? Did your match against Moxley's tag team partner DJ Cassidy from May 18th factor into any of the planning you did? Jake Dominion: And who the hell are you again and why are you bothering me before I lay a beating on a geek? Andrew looks down at his name badge, which is clearly displayed to his interviewee, and then looks up at Dominion and starts to reintroduce himself. Andrew Kelley: I'm Andrew Kelley, the newest member of the... Jake Dominion interrupts, obviously he doesn't care who Andrew Kelley is. Jake Dominion: Who gives a shit who you are. Anyway I'll answer your question. What preparation? I'm fighting a nerd this week, I practiced by bench-pressing pencils, do you honestly think I even needed to break a sweat training and preparing this week for a pencil-necked geek? You must be mistaken, and if my memory serves me right, his goofball of a tag partner wasn't much of a threat to me so you honestly think his little nerd boy will be a challenge? Dominion gets a cocky smirk on his face and lets out a little laugh. Andrew Kelley: So what you're saying is that you're not worried at all about your match tonight against Herb Moxley, a former tag team champion who defeated the legendary Beautiful People? Dominion squints his eyes and steps in a foot closer towards Kelley. Jake Dominion: Listen you little shmuck, why don't you do some homework and find out WHO ended the Beautiful People's legendary reign in the first place. They were the best team on the plannet and myself along with my partner then, mowed 'em down. That was then, this is now, I don't give a shit about The Beautiful People, I don't give a shit that the geek squad beat them either. Dominion steps back and composes himself for a moment. Jake Dominion: Now if you'll excuse me, I have a beating to give to a nerd, unless you want to receive one too if you don't get the fuck outta my way chump... Jake takes one step in Andrew's direction and the interviewer quickly takes a step back, trying to avoid getting into an altercation with Dominion. After Kelley moves out of his way, Jake Dominion walks towards the gorilla position, his match up next. Herb Moxley vs Jake Dominion
Mark Perletta: Before the match gets started, Jen X runs down to the ring and whispers something to the temporary ring announcer, who then lets us know that SHE is officially accompanying Herb Moxley out to the ring, which gets a good reaction from the live crowd. Joey C: Reactions being what they are, whether they're cheering or booing, it's the size of the reaction that matters most, and Jake Dominion got a fairly sizeable reaction of his own when he came out from the back, and the fans let their strong feelings about Dominion be known, the high majority of them booing him despite the fact that Dominion is one of the more electrifying superstars on the LEGACY roster, or in the sport for that matter. Mark Perletta: As this match got started, Moxley looked very impressive using his speed and reflexes to avoid the early attacks of Jake Dominion, getting in a few shots of his own. Joey C: I think it's very obvious from what he said to Andrew Kelley right before the match and in his actions early on that Jake Dominion was taking this match against Herb Moxley lightly, but when Jake Dominion started going full out, I think Moxley started to understand what it was like to be in a match with a Hall of Famer. Mark Perletta: Making this a light week of training might very well have hurt Jake Dominion in his match tonight against Moxley, who obviously trained just as hard for this match as he has for any match thus far in his career, and it showed, especially with a couple of the springboard type maneuvers that Herb pulled off in this match. Joey C: It probably also didn't hurt that Moxley was doing his best to show off for Jen X who was standing right outside the ring, either. Mark Perletta: I don't know whether she's Herb's manager, his valet, his girlfriend, or all of the above, but she seemed very pleased to see Moxley get in a lot of offense in the first half of this match. I just have to wonder, though, are there going to be any reprocussions behind Jen X returning to the tour after being fired last week, and will any of that fall down on Herb Moxley. Joey C: I think it's highly possible, but I mean, really, who cares? It's JUST Herb Moxley, after all. Mark Perletta: I would think that a lot of people care about Moxley, especially considering the way the fans were firmly behind him all throughout the match, even in the second half of it when Jake Dominion really started to lay into Moxley, and at times he started getting a little too cocky. Joey C: Let me clear something up for you. When you're as good an athlete as Jake Dominion and you're in the ring with a guy like Moxley, sure, they might get the advantage now and again, but all in all the odds are extremely in your favor, ya get me? It's not being cocky, it's not being arrogant, it's just being aware of the odds in his favor and being confident that he was going to win the match. Mark Perletta: Well even as Dominion put Moxley on his back and was laying into him with all sorts of punches, forearm shots, kicks, and stomps, the crowd never once gave up hope that Moxley would win this match, and I think it was that reaction from the fans that kept Moxley fighting as hard as he could, something he's going to have to do if he's going to continue to be a Goal Oriented Nerd and strive to try to take the World Television Title from Nicholas Creed. Joey C: That, and not wanting to lose his first match with Jen X coming down to the ring with him, but as the match progressed, it really didn't feel like there was much hope left for Moxley. Start : Footage from the Match As Moxley is on the ground, Jake Dominion steps back and lays a soccer kick into his ribs and then watches as Herb rolls a few feet, remaining on the mat, holding his side. On the outside of the ring Jen X starts pounding on the ring apron, trying to encourage Moxley, and suddenly the fans all over the arena start stomping on the arena floor, making noise and trying to encourage him to keep going. Jake looks slightly angered by the reaction, but he grabs Moxley by the head and lifts him up to his feet. He pulls back on Moxley's goggles and lets them go, snapping them across Moxley's face, laughing as he does so. Joey C: Some fans in the front row start yelling at Dominion, and something tells me that short clothesline from Jake isn't going to make them any happier! Mark Perletta: Dominion getting a little distracted as he responds back to a few of them, seemingly not too worried about Moxley making a comeback. Going back and focussing in on his opponent, Jake takes Herb by the arm and he goes for an irish whip into the opposite corner, but suddenly Moxley plants his feet and with all his might he hits an irish whip of his own and whips Jake chest first into the turnbuckle! Dominion comes off with the wind knocked out of him, taking a few steps backwards and Moxley is right there with an impressive reverse tilt-a-whirl into a gut buster. Mark Perletta: Two impressive moves there right in a row by Herb Moxley, and Jake Dominion looks to be a combination of surprised and winded all at the same time! Joey C: It's only temporary! It's gotta be only temporary! Dominion gets up off the match and he clutches his abdomen in pain. Moxley then runs into the ropes and on the return he leaps into the air, snapping his body around, and LEVELING Dominion with a spinning heel kick to the jaw, and as they see this, the fans explode in cheers, knowing that Moxley is back in the match! Mark Perletta: I can't believe it, Moxley with a bonafide comeback, and can he continue in on the offensive?! Taking Jake by the head, Moxley lifts his opponent up to his feet, but as he tries to go for the maneuver, Dominion whips his elbow around and nails Moxley in the side of his head, breaking up any attempt at the Demon Killer he was going for, and then Jake backs up a step and then lunges in, going for his superkick, but Moxley moves out of the way just in time and then as Jake turns around, Moxley NAILS him in the face with the Super Sweet Ninja Crane Kick! Mark Perletta: It may just be a karate move he learned from watching too many Ralph Machio movies, but a kick to the face is a kick to the face! Joey C: Listen to these idiot fans, as if they actually think Moxley stands a chance!? Standing behind Dominion as he struggles to get back to his feet, Moxley pretends to draw a sword out of an imaginary sheath on his imaginary belt, and after doing so, he hoists the imaginary sword into the air, and he and the crowd all yell out in unison... Moxley and the Crowd: DRAGON SLAYER!!! Herb grabs Dominion by the head and runs towards the ropes, CLIMBS... ...but instead of Moxley completing the Dragon Slayer, Jake Dominion takes a few steps towards the middle of the ring, holding Moxley up over his head, and then he swings him down forwards as if to go for an atomic drop, but as he does Moxley rolls forwards, breaking free from Dominion's grasp and he locks his feet in under Jake's arms, grabs onto his legs and rolls through into a Victory Roll position and the referee goes for the count... ONE! TWO!! THREE!!! Winner by PINFALL : Herb Moxley Mark Perletta: A huge and VERY impressive win here by Herb Moxley, and Jake Dominion looks completely distraught about having lost this match! Joey C: As well he should be! There is NO WAY that a guy like Herb Moxley should EVER, under ANY circumstances get a win over a guy like Jake Dominion! Ever! Mark Perletta: And after the match Jake Dominion looked like he could kill someone, but before he tried to get his hands on Moxley, Herb and Jen X were already halfway up the ramp and headed back to the locker room area. Joey C: I'm starting to think that if Herb Moxley can pull off upset wins like the one he just got against Jake Dominion, then maybe it's not a good idea that he ever gets a shot at the World Television Title again, because I wouldn't want Moxley getting some fluke win and taking the belt off of Creed like that. A champion like Creed deserves better! The Approach
The scene is backstage where we see D.J. Cassidy getting something from a vending machine, a big smile on his face, and after putting the items into a grocery bag, he turns and walks down the hallway where he is met by Smith Cartwright. D.J. smiles at the friendly face. D.J. Cassidy: What's up, Mr. Cartwright? Smith Cartwright: Not much, D.J., just thought I'd congratulate you on that win over John Thomas last week. Beating an athlete of that caliber is a pretty big deal. D.J. Cassidy: I try not to dwell on it too much, I just learn as much as I can from my wins just like I do from my losses, and then when I get booked again, I do as much research on my next opponent as possible. Smith Cartwright: Good approach, one I’ve seen used by some very successful people. Anyway, just thought I'd tell you keep up the good work and you could be the "No Limits" Champion in no time, especially since John Thomas owes a lot of his success in this business to the training he received from the current "No Limits" Champion, Gryffin Anselm. D.J. Cassidy: Thanks, Mr. Cartwright. I appreciate the encouragement, and you do make a very valid point. Smith Cartwright: Anytime. D.J. Cassidy: If you don't mind, I'm going to go celebrate with Herb over his TREMENDOUS victory here tonight. Cartwright moves out of the way, more than happy to let D.J. go celebrate. Smith Cartwright: By all means... With that, D.J. Cassidy walks down the hall and we cut back to another area backstage. Elsewhere...
Walking down the back halls of the arena, John Thomas looks inconspicuous his navy blue Indianapolis Colts hat pulled down low. Obviously in search of someone, John keeps to himself as he passes various staff members, but as he turns a corner and walks right past Marcus Marion, The Revolutionary stops, turns around, and realizing who is hidden underneath that cap, he decides to have a little fun. MARCUS MARION: Aren't you a little too old to STILL be looking for your daddy? John stops, recognizing the voice, and he turns around slowly, not looking forward to having to deal with Marion right now. MARCUS MARION: Man... that was some loss last week.
I feel for you, really I do. And because my heart has both the width
and depth of the Indian Ocean. I'll cut you a little slack, and wont
state the obvious *cough* Cassidy worked you like a part-time
job. He BEAT John Thomas: You know, I really don't feel like getting into this with you right now. Marion smirks, realizing he has already irked John. MARCUS MARION: I understand. I know how you deal with frustration, but I don't want to see another sitcom of your abuse of a locker room. This is a kid's show, for chrissakes. John grits his teeth and then shakes his head slightly as he turns and tries to walk away, but Marion, hating to be ignored, throws another comment at him. MARCUS MARION: Where you off to so quickly? You in a hurry to speak to dad, trying to get yet another opportunity you'll just end up blowing? That's just like you... First you blew King of the Mountain. Yeah I wasnt here, but I did a little research, I saw the match. I saw the title shots you had against Devastation, too. So if your asking him for the 1,000th chance to embarrass yourself on national television... Save it. Dad's tired of cleaning up your mess. John stops dead in his tracks, having heard about enough, and then he turns around to face Marion and slowly starts walking towards him. John Thomas: You know what? Fuck you. You got help to beat Devastation, you ducked Greyson Blade for the better part of a month, and then when you finally get into a big-time match with him on a pay per view event, he kicks your ass and takes your championship belt. From where I'm standing, you're in no position to talk. The two are now standing about six feet from one another, and the tension is building. A silent moment lasts as the two look each other dead in the eyes, and then slowly a smirk forms on Marion's face. MARCUS MARION: OK. First off, this is not Europe. I like at least a little personal space than this when I talk to other men. Back up. You don't want a crack at that title. You want something more valuable. Something that'll get the fans bypassing your boring stage name and give you headlines... an open casket funeral. Thomas, you're NOT in my league. Never were, and never will be. You're under permanent house arrest, which means dad and the booking committee, won't ever let you within sniffing distance of that title. So while your wishing upon a star to sweep up the ring after The Revolutionary becomes a two-time Champion, I suggest you grow some chest hair before you raise that bass in your voice at me again. Got it? Good. John Thomas: You know what? I'm tired of hearing you run your mouth all the time, I've been tired of it for a long while, but up until now you've been someone else's problem and I've been busy with other things... but as it seems the both of us have empty dance cards, and you're still flapping your gums, proving that you've still got a case of diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the braid. How about it, how about you and me get into the ring together next week and find out what I'm capable of, and I get the chance to shut your mouth for you? Marion looks at Thomas with a grin and belts out a little cackle. Obviously not taking Thomas as any serious threat at all. MARCUS MARION: DJ Cassidy twisted you into a bow-tie, and that's not saying much considering the tag scene is as good as it gets for him. I don't know what makes you think, somewhere in that prodigal son mind of yours, that you have ANY chance of beating me... A bonafide superstar. A former World Champion? Marion squints his eyes and looks at John closely, examining his eyes. MARCUS MARION: You been in my stash again? I know Belote would just LOVE me giving you a wrestling clinic and a glimpse into what it's like to step into the ring with a true wrestling GOD like Anslem could NEVER do. You know what? I had nothing planned next week anyway... so you're on. And just so you know, I've never been good at showing mercy, and I don't plan on taking a crash course between now and then. Stepping backwards slowly, never taking his eyes off of his opponent for next week, Marion walks off with a very content gleam in his eyes. Celebration
The camera then switches to a locker room and suddenly Herb Moxley and Jen X run in through the door, huge grins on their face. As he tries catching his breath, he stands beside Jen X, looking over at her. Moxley: That was just great - We did it!! Jen looks a bit confused. Jen X: We? Not sure I did much of anything. Herb nods his head. Moxley: Trust me, having you in my corner made all the difference. The two smile at each other, but the moment is broken as D.J. Cassidy walks in through the locker room door with a bag of snacks in his hand and a smile on his face. D.J. Cassidy: Who wants the Cool Ranch Doritos?! Herb looks over at Jen X. Moxley: You can have 'em... but you'll have to beat me in Rock, Paper, Scissors first! Jen X gets a big goofy grin on her face and then the camera switches back to a shot of the ringside area. World Television Title Match
Aaron Beaudway vs Nicholas Creed (c) Mark Perletta: With everything going on here tonight we need to keep things rolling, and so we're moving right into the next match where Nicholas Creed attempts to once again defend his World Television Title, this week against Aaron Beaudway. Joey C: Apparently his win last week over Osamu Hayashi was enough to warrant giving Beaudway a shot at this belt Mark Perletta: Well just like we've been hearing the past two months since the LEGACY Tour started, people are getting opportunities to prove themselves, and this is the first of The Only Way's opportunities. Joey C: For a guy given this big "opportunity", Aaron Beaudway sure didn't make the most of it early on in the match. Mark Perletta: Creed definitely took an early start and continued to just pound away at his opponent, and after what amounted to basically throwing Beaudway around the ring for a couple minutes, Creed sent The Only Way out of the ring and down to the floor. Joey C: That proved to be a mistake by Creed, because even as badly as he had bruised up Aaron early on, he shouldn't have given him a chance to get back into the match. Mark Perletta: Nicholas Creed is a born competitor, so to be honest, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he threw Beaudway out of the ring in hopes of letting him get a second wind and prolonging the match. That said, he did give The Only Way a better chance of taking the World Television Title. Joey C: When Beaudway gets back into the ring, Creed starts right in on him, but when Creed goes for an irish whip, Beaudway reverses it, and on the return takes Creed down with a hiptoss, following it up directly with an elbow drop. Mark Perletta: When Creed gets back up to his feet, Beaudway actually continues to keep in on the attack, taking Creed down to the mat several times with dropkicks and clotheslines, keeping the attack coming rapidly to keep things in his favor. Joey C: I gotta say as effective as the attack was, if I were Beaudway I wouldn't have gone for the stomps to Creed's ribs. Sure, they did some damage, but they damn well pissed Creed off, and that's not a good thing. Mark Perletta: No, no it's not, and try as he might, Beaudway could not continue to sustain the offensive, and when Creed got back on the offensive, he did so in a very big way. Start : Footage from the Match Creed works his way to his feet and as he does so, Beaudway runs into the ropes and on the return Aaron goes for a dropkick, and just before it would've hit its mark on his chest, Creed sidesteps and shoves Beaudway down to the mat hard. After sending a closed fist right into the face of The Only Way, SIN picks his opponent up off the mat and sends a knee into his midsection to keep him doubled over, and from there he shoves a knee hard into Beaudway's nose. Then another. Then another. THEN ANOTHER! Mark Perletta: Aaron Beaudway's nose starts to flow Crimson Bullets! Joey C: I cringe each and every time I see him do that move! It looks like it would hurt so badly I can't even imagine... in fact, I don't want to imagine! Grabbing Beaudway by the head, Creed lifts him up off the mat, gets in behind him, lifts him up and hits an atomic drop, Beaudway nearly falling back down to the mat due to the impact. Reaching out and taking hold of The Only Way's arm to keep him on his feet, Creed then locks him into a full-nelson, wrenching it in and shaking him around, and from there he lifts Only Way up off the mat into the air... ...Creed pivots and spins Beaudway around in mid-air... URINAGE SLAM!!! REIGN OF SIN!! Creed reaches over, draping an arm across Beaudway's chest and going for the pinfall attempt, not even trying to hook a leg... ONE! TWO!! THREE!!! Winner by PINFALL and STILL World Television
Champion : Mark Perletta: Another successful defense of the World Television Title by Nicholas Creed, and conventional wisdom says that defending a championship week after week would take its toll on someone, but in Creed's case I think racking up win after win is just giving him more and more momentum. Joey C: I agree, Marky, and a guy as big and dangerous as Creed is gaining momentum is NOT a good thing for the rest of this roster, not if they have any hope of taking home the World Television Title anytime soon. Mark Perletta: His run starting back on May 5th, he has almost gone two full months defending that belt, and at some point you have to wonder who is going to be able to take the belt from him. Attempt at Alternative Measures
Chris Turner is angrily walking down the halls of the arena, mumbling to his self as he suddenly stops. He thinks he heard something and looks around. He cocks his head in confusion, and then shrugs it off and continues on down the hall. He turns the corner and makes it halfway down the corridor, but then suddenly stops again, thinking AGAIN he heard something. Chris Turner: Stephen... You can't scare me. He waits for a minute and when he doesn't hear or see anything, he continues on. He makes it down the corridor and right before he turns, he stops one more time. He looks all around him, and around the corner. When he realizes the coast is clear he turns the corner and appearing out of nowhere is a man in white doctor's scrubs. He takes a tazor gun and shoots it into Turner's chest. Turner's muscles tense up, and he becomes temporarily parayled. He fulls to the ground and begins to convulge as the energy goes into his body. Chris Turner: W... W... What are you d... doing? Who are y..you? Another man wearing the white scrubs steps up. He has a bag in his hand. He kneels down and talks to Turner. Man: I'm Dr. Sheridan from Hariggan Asylum in Michigan. Chris's eyes go wide. He tries to move but to no avail. Man: You're brother tells me you've been bad. Under terms of your release, that constitutes you be recommitted at once. Chris tries to speak up trying to say he didn't do anything wrong enough to deserve to be committed, but he has now lost feeling in his lips as the energy continues to flow from the gun and he conmtinues to convulge. The man stands up still looking at Chris. Man: Bag him up. He unzips the bag and takes out a straightjacket. The man holding the tazor shuts it off and Turner rests... Two more men come out of nowhere, pull the little end of the tazor out of Turner's chest, and then pin him to the floor. They then quickly pull him up and two more men help them put the jacket onto Chris. There is a demented look Chris's face. They finish putting the coat on Turner and they start carrying him away. Man: Get him out of here. Rawlings comes out of a corner where he was hiding and smirks at Turner. He gestures "good-bye" as they pass by him, and that's when Turner really starts to struggle. He kicks the two guys in front of him, which knocks himself into the two guys behind him. He lets his weight carry all three of them to the ground. He bites one of the guys, and then kicks the other one in the face. He struggles to his feet and stares at the doctor as he is calling for reinforcements. Turner runs at the docter and head butts him right in the chest. The doctor flies into the wall, and is unconcious. He then turns to find his cousin, but Stephen is gone. Chris Turner: I'm... going to get you... you fucking... asshole! He then stops, struggles in the jacket for a second. Suddenly he slips it off. Chris Turner: Straight-jacket match... Stephen... is... a fucking idiot... if he thinks he'll beat me! He throws the jacket down on the unconscious doctor, and walks down the hall, with a new pissed off look on his face. A very determined and pissed off look. The Champions Converge
Walking backstage with his No Limits Championship Belt over his shoulder, Gryffin approaches a closed locker room door, and after knocking a couple times, he opens the door to find Greyson Blade sitting on a steel chair, lacing up his boots. Greyson looks up at Anselm as he walks in the door and leans up against the wall, and this being the first time they've seen one another since Rise of the Elite 3, Blade takes a moment and leans back in his chair, no longer lacing up his boots. Greyson: Well, well, well, couldn't let well enough alone and you had to go on out and try to "challenge the entire" roster too. If I didn't know better I'd say you were asking to get put through a table or brained with a steel chair, but each to their own I suppose. Gryffin cracks a smirk. Gryffin: Well, you know me... Greyson: Oh and by the way, congratulations on putting the nail in the coffin on Mason Bishop. Anselm shrugs, as if to say "no big deal". Gryffin: I did exactly what I said I was going to, kept Bishop out of the way and I let you have a level playing field against Marion... which you've played to your advantage very nicely in bringing home that belt of yours. Still have hard feelings towards me now that it's all said and done? Greyson: As of yet I haven't exactly taken enough shots to the head to suddenly become forgetful Gryffin, but you have your belt and I have mine ... *The Outlaw nods at Anselm* which means at least for foreseable future I have no interest in pressing any issues. Why go out and find extra trouble when I already have two punks jumping me in the back... and the truth is I really liked that phone. Greyson lets out a small chuckle and shakes his head, still in disbelief that Stein actually crushed his phone. Gryffin: I don't imagine that a loner like you had a ton of pre-set numbers stored in there anyway. Someday that's going to be your downfall, you do realize that, right? Greyson: Being a loner? By the umpteenth time you've had the knife plunged between your shoulderblades it's pretty easy to say "fuck it" and come to the realization that "friend" is just another word for an enemy that you let get close. Gryffin: Well, have it your way, then, but now that I'm done with Bishop, the thought of throwing that McLellan kid through a table sounds kinda good to me for some reason, so those idiots decide to get at you two-on-one again... you can expect that it won't last too long before the cavalry shows up to help out. Greyson: Well from the looks of things, where there is Dan Stein there is Connor McLellan, which means if you are determined to slap tweedle dee around while I'm dealing with tweedle dumb then I guess I will be seeing alot of you. Gryffin: You realize that the only thing stopping us from taking those tag titles from those idiots is that you're still harboring some anger towards me from the National Title misunderstanding, don't you? Greyson: What no love for the youth of today? *Chuckles* But I digress... Harboring some anger? Maybe. Stubborn? Definitely. However, before I throw caution to the wind and completely change how I do business, let's see how long I hold on to this ... Greyson taps the LEGACY Title with a bit of a coy grin. Gryffin nods his head, a smirk forming on his face. Gryffin: Letting yourself focus on one thing and one thing only. That's a step in the right direction, Greyson. Doesn't look like you'll have to be dealing with Bishop anytime soon, last I heard they were trying to get him into the looney bin. Stein shouldn't be much of a challenge for you, and if he is... we'll have to talk. Greyson: Nothing is ever that simple when there's two involved, Anselm, you know that. A smirk comes over Gryffin's face as he nods slightly. Gryffin: Well then, I guess I'll just have to make sure it IS that simple. Leaving things at that, Anselm opens the locker room door and walks out, leaving Greyson to finish up his pre-match preparations. Hardcore Straight-Jacket Match
Chris Turner vs Stephen Rawlings Joey C: What an absolutely crazy match this was, though I don't think anyone who is remotely familiar with Rawlings and Turner expected anything else. Turner might be the one who they were attempting to take to a mental institution before the match, but Stephen Rawlings isn't the most normal guy in the world! Mark Perletta: He does have some quirks about him, namely his methods of training and preparation, but above all else Stephen Rawlings is a very competitive person who thrives on winning matches and gaining championships. Joey C: Well as he walked down to the ring what he GOT was a beat-down at the hands of his cousin, Chris Turner, completely legal under the hardcore rules of this match! Mark Perletta: Before this match I didn't think I would ever see Chris Turner fight his cousin this hard, though I guess being shocked by that doctor's tazer earlier in the night must have awaken something in him that made him realize how bad the situation was looking for him, and it's obvious to me that he doesn't want to end up in that mental institution. Joey C: I think once he realized this wasn't just about whether or not he was going to continue on with his contract here in LEGACY, but whether he was going to be able to remain a member of society at large, I think that's what flipped the switch in Chris Turner. Mark Perletta: Well even before the two cousins got into the ring, things were very heated on the outside, and almost all of the offense was coming from Chris Turner, who threw Rawlings into the steel steps, into the steel guardrail, and he even attempted to hit him with the ring bell. Joey C: Rawlings was lucky enough to kick Turner in the nuts before that happened, because if Rawlings wanted any chance of winning this match and getting Turner removed from LEGACY, he had to do something to keep Chris from nailing him with that steel signalling device. Mark Perletta: From there Stephen Rawlings shoves his cousin face first into the corner ringpost and then rolls him into the ring underneath the bottom rope, wanting to get into the familiar confines of the squared circle, following him in with a flip-over splash from the outside apron down onto Chris Turner. Joey C: When I heard Stephen Rawlings agree to have a hardcore match with Chris Turner, I thought he was completely out of his mind. Obviously this is the type of match that Turner would've picked if it were up to him, but I couldn't figure out for the life of me why Rawlings would agree to something like this. Mark Perletta: After the action moved into the ring I think we got our answer to that. Already a little uneasy on his feet due to being electro-shocked earlier in the evening, Stephen Rawlings planned his attack around making it even harder for his cousin to stand or get any leverage from his legs. Joey C: Rawlings methodically attacked Turner's knees, wrapping them around the bottom rope, stomping on them, kicking them, no worries at all about the referee stopping him from doing any of that due to the hardcore rules of this match. Mark Perletta: I think everyone would agree that the way Stephen executed his attack was very effective, because even as Chris Turner was able to use the ropes to get himself back on his feet, he wasn't able to move around much once he was there, which significantly limited his offense for the rest of the match. Joey C: Even with a hurt leg and a couple extra volts running through his system, that didn't completely limit Chris Turner, who showed that he still had unbelievable strength as he blocked a punch from Rawlings, hit a MASSIVE headbutt, then picked his cousin up and drove him into the mat with an incredible sidewalk slam! Mark Perletta: With his leg in such bad shape, by the time Turner got back to his feet, the delay in attack gave Stephen Rawlings all the opportunity he needed. Start : Footage from the Match As Turner planted both of his feet underneath of him, he tried moving but the damage he had taken to his knee already made it extremely hard, but determined to win the match, Chris started to try to move around the ring to "wake it back up", but as he did that Stephen Rawlings got up off the mat and the first thing he did was to dive into the back of Turner's leg with a chopblock, taking him down to the mat. Getting back to his feet, Rawlings walked over and started stomping on Turner's leg, and then he slid into position, grabbing Turner around the neck from behind, pushing his forearm up underneath Turner's chin and he started choking him out. Mark Perletta: Very rarely have we EVER seen this sort of intensity from Stephen Rawlings, but I guess this just speaks to how badly he wants Chris Turner out of this organization. Joey C: Stephen Rawlings has some misguided view that his cousin is the one who has been holding him back the past few months, but lets be honest, the only real success Stephen Rawlings has had in 2006 has been a direct result of Chris Turner's involvement in his life. Feeling like he has sufficiently choked out Turner, Stephen Rawlings grabs Turner and pulls him up to his feet, then lifts him up and hits a knee-breaker... then a second knee-breaker... and then DROPS him down to the mat with a ddt. From there Rawlings grabs Turner by the knee, pulls back into a single-leg Boston crab, but then he looks his leg around it, holding Chris Turner's ankle in with his knee, and then Stephen spins around and yanks back on Turner's neck, choking him for the second time in this match. Mark Perletta: An interesting submission hold here by Stephen Rawlings, both wrenching back on that knee to inflict more pain in the same location he has been targetting all match long, and now he's working to choke Turner out at the same time! Joey C: I think it's working, too! Chris Turner is screaming out in pain, though it doesn't look like he's ready to tap out anytime soon, and honestly I would be very surprised if Turner submitted here. Mark Perletta: He might not have to... Rawlings wrenches in on the hold and slowly Turner stops yelling, and as the camera switches to a different view, you can see his eyes start fading. Wrenching back on the hold, Stephen Rawlings seems determined to keep the hold locked in. Slowly, Turner starts to fade out, and as his eyes close, the referee grabs him by the arm, lifts it up and lets it drop... ...and it falls once! The referee lifts it up a second time... ...and it falls again! The referee takes Turner's arm and lifts it up for a third and final time and Stephen Rawlings watches as he drops it... ...and it falls for a third time and the referee calls for the bell! Winner by SUBMISSION : Stephen Rawlings Mark Perletta: A very nicely strategized win there by Stephen Rawlings who worked over Chris Turner's knee and then followed that up with a chokehold that would've been illegal in any non-hardcore match, and in the end he gets his cousin to pass out. Joey C: As the people we saw earlier come down to the ring to deal with getting Turner into the straight-jacket, I have to say that for the first time in a very long while, I'm actually proud of Stephen Rawlings. For a guy who has been extremely uptight during most of his tenure with this organization, he went all out here tonight and showed me a new side of him. Now if only he can keep that up going forward. Making Intentions Known
As secuirty, the doctor, and his aids haul Chris Turner away from the ring, Stephen stands in the center of the ring watching the whole time. After all the men disappear backstage, Stephen goes to the outside and grabs a mic. He then climbs back into the ring, and and looks at all the people. Stephen Rawlings: Ladies and Gentlemen... Chris Turner has left the buiding. There is a mixed reaction. Some of the crowd cheers, and some of the crowd boos. Stephen Rawlings: What? I'm sorry. He was getting on my nerves. I couldn't just keep going along with his game. Cuz that's all it was to him. A game. He didn't care if he won or lost. All he cared about was making people hurt... And thats not what the "sport" of wrestling is. It's not about pain... It's not about blood. It's not about how many chair shots a man can withstand... And it's most certainly not about who can get a straighjacket on the other competitor. A small pop from the crowd. Stephen Rawlings: He didn't get it. This is a sport, so ultimately it comes to one thing and one thing only. Winning and losing. The more wins you have, the more money you make... The more losses... Well... I don't know what happens if you have a bunch of losses. I've tried my whole life to make sure I stayed in the first category. That is partly the reason I got rid of Chris. He was causing me losses. He was trying to win with unorthodox cheating, and that was pulling me down into the lower bracket. I can't have that. I am a winner. I NEED to look like a winner. I am a champion. I've held the Tv title twice. The Midwest title once in TTW, and the Tag Team Titles here in Legacy. Larger pop. Stephen Rawlings: All of those accomplishments... They all mean shit! Their all worthless. I started wrestling in this company because I looked at the talent and realized how sub-par everyone's abilities were compared to mine. I'm not trying to look stuck up and conceeded, or even trying to say everyone else is bad... But that was the reason I came. Chivalric was the world champion when I came here... Chivalric! I knew I could beat him! So I came... I came here becase I knew I could become the first Grand Slam champion of TTW. I was quickly on the right track too.. And I quickly became a two time Tv champ. Every goddamn week I defended my title. Every week I beat another man, and at the end of the night... I stood up tall in that ring and I held my belt with pride. But it doesn't matter anymore. I failed. TTW no longer exists, so now there is no way to ever become the first TTW grand slam champion. But I can become the first the first person in Legacy to give this new company any meaning. I can become the first legacy of this new franchise of wrestling. I can become the first Legacy Grand Slam champion! The crowd is now cheering quite loud. Stephen Rawlings: Therefore I have to wrestle BY MYSELF... is the rest of the reason I got rid of my cousin. he just kept wanting to wrestle tag team wrestling. He wanted to keep beating up my friends. That wasn't gonna happen. I'm in a race and I refuse to lose. I'm in a race with Greyson Blade. That man has been a thorn in my side since he got here. First... He got my Midwest title... Then he got the national title... Which I never even got a shot at... And then... And that fucker got a shot at the World championship and won. Who has he beat? Huh? Name one significant person on the roster who that man has beat? Rocky Steller? No... Johnny Johnson? No. Exactly. He's a midwest champ and no farther... SO why did he get a shot at the title against our sub-par Champion? Because I was stuck in gay ass tag matches with my retarded cousin. But now I'm not! The crowd bursts into cheers. Stephen Rawlings: Now I got rid of the extra weight... And I'm gonna get rid of the pain... That's why I'm answering Greyson's little "Open Challenge". Make him regret the words that ever came out of his mouth. Here I stand in the middle of the ring loud and clear so everyone can here... Greyson Blade... I'm going to take your title... Because I'm not a chump wrestler like everyone else you've been wrestling. I'm the real thing... And you can't handle someone this good. Just beware... Soon I'll be there to pluck the belt from your grip and claim what should have been mine months ago. I hope your ready, cuz I sure as hell will be. Suddenly the lights go out in the arena and a single red spotlight shines down onto Stephen Rawlings, who looks completely confused as to what's going on, and suddenly a figure dressed in an all black keikogi and black pants wearing a black mask covering the majority of his face slides into the ring and surprises Rawlings with a hooking crescent kick right to the face that takes him off of his feet. When Rawlings gets to his feet, the dark figure spins around backwards and takes Rawlings down with a leg sweep. The dark figure then grabs Rawlings, lifts him up to his feet, lifts him up into a Razor's Edge position, releases slightly and lets him slide down his back, then he falls backwards, crushing Rawlings' chest into the mat, and then he quickly rolls over, double underhook, flips over... CATTLE MUTILATION!! Rawlings struggles to break free, but just having gone through a tough match, he can't break the hold. A dark figure wearing a black leather trenchcoat gets into the ring and in the glow of the red spotlight, he laughs and yells in Japanese as the hold is continually applied. The lights in the arena then go up and after holding the cattle mutilation on for another eight seconds, the darkened figure lets go of the hold, then kips up and stands next to the man in the leather trenchcoat, who we now know to be Shinya Nori. The black mask comes off, and the man standing next to Shinya is Katsuro Yoshida. Shinya Nori has a microphone in his hand. Shinya Nori: Everyone seems to be trying to step up to the plate to get a chance at The World Title and Greyson Blade. Dan Stein wants his shot. Stephen Rawlings wants his shot. When the LEGACY front office contacted me about getting the Bushido Buntai to join this organization, they said that they would give meaningful opportunities. They knew that Katsuro Yoshida was a World Caliber athlete, they knew what he was capable of, and they said that it would not be long before he would be fighting for the World Heavyweight Title here, but so far they have not lived up to their promises. In life you can not just wait for people to give you what you deserve, you have to step up and take it, and that is what we did here tonight! Shinya walks over and stands next to Stephen Rawlings' body, and Katsuro stands directly over Rawlings, looking down at him. Shinya Nori: Stephen Rawlings wants a shot at Greyson Blade and the World Heavyweight Championship? He will have to go through Katsuro Yoshida, and I assure you, that will not happen! Traditional Japanese music starts up over the speakers in the arena and Katsuro Yoshida walks over and leans over the top rope, putting his hand down onto the apron on the other side and springing himself over and landing his feet on the arena floor below. Shinya Nori takes the easier route out of the ring by ducking under the top rope and then walking down the steps to get to the floor, and as the two walk back up the entrance ramp, the scene cuts back to a shot from the recap studio. Joey C: I don't know about you, Marky, but I couldn't believe just how quickly all of that happened! I mean, one minute Stephen Rawlings is on the mic talking about how he wants a shot at Greyson Blade and the World Heavyweight Title, the next minute the lights are out except for a red spotlight and Katsuro Yoshida is in the ring kicking Rawlings' ass! Mark Perletta: Everything did happen rather quickly, and I think that's exactly what Katsuro and Shinya had in mind. They wanted to get in, they wanted to take Rawlings by surprise, and they wanted to incapacitate him as quickly as possible, and that's exactly what they did, taking advantage of not only the darkness and element of surprise, but also the fact that Stephen Rawlings had just finished up with a hardcore match and wasn't completely at 100%. Joey C: Katsuro Yoshida a major name from over in Japan, he came to LEGACY because he wanted the opportunity to showcase his talents on a larger stage, and even though he's only been here about a month, it looks like he was tired of waiting! Mark Perletta: While we were airing the recap of what happened, one of our producers has confirmed to me through my earpiece that next week, Stephen Rawlings will step into the ring against Katsuro Yoshida. Joey C: That's HUGE news! You have an earpiece? Joey starts looking at the side of Perletta's head, trying to wrench his neck around to see his broadcast partner's other ear. Mark Perletta: No word as of yet whether or not it's going to be for a guaranteed title shot or not, but something tells me that whoever wins that match will obviously be getting a title shot before the other. Joey C: Dan Stein wants a shot, Stephen Rawlings wants a shot, Katsuro Yoshida wants a shot... Mark Perletta: Dan Stein seems to be first in line, although the results of tonight's main event could have a significant impact on whether he remains in front of the line for the next shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, or if he slips down the list and someone else becomes the fore-runner. Insurance Measure
The last of his pre-match preparations taken care of, Greyson Blade walks out of his locker room and heads for the gorilla position, but just before he gets there he turns a corner and sees Gryffin Anselm laid out on the ground. Not more than eight feet away from Anselm is Conor McLellan, a dented steel chair in his hands, a huge canary-eating grin on his face. Conor McLellan: Looks like your fuck buddy's a little incapacitated, so you might just have to go at this one alone. Good luck, though, champ. You're going to need it. Tossing the chair down, Conor backs up quickly and then runs off towards the gorilla position to meet up with Dan Stein. Greyson walks over and checks in on Gryffin Anselm, who has been knocked out cold. When a couple EMTs show up to check on Anselm, Blade gets up, looks down at Gryffin once more, and then heads off towards the gorilla position for his match. Non-Title Match
Dan Stein vs Greyson Blade The view switches over to a shot of the ringside area where the match was getting ready to begin, and with white stroble-lights flashing from various parts of the arena, Stein makes his entrance for the main event. Joey C: As the challenger for tonight's match came down to the ring, there was a definite look of confidence on the face of Dan Stein. Mark Perletta: Flanked by his fellow World Tag Team Champion Conor McLellan and knowing that Gryffin Anselm would not be able to join Greyson Blade at ringside for the match, Dan Stein had a good reason to be more confident about his chances than he did just a half-hour before. Greyson Blade IS the World Heavyweight Champion, though, and when he came down to the ring, he didn't look nervous at all about Conor being on the outside. Joey C: Well he should've been. As soon as he got into the ring he got double-teamed by those two, knocked down to his knees before the opening bell even rang. Mark Perletta: That he did but The Outlaw didn't let the double-team kill his chances, and after a low-blow on Conor McLellan, Blade was able to block a right hand by Dan Stein, firing in with a haymaker that completely takes Stein off of his feet, which gave Greyson just enough time to grab Conor by the back collar of his shirt and throw him out of the ring to the outside, giving the match the opportunity to begin. Joey C: Dan Stein finds himself in a bit of trouble early on with Greyson Blade taking him down to the mat with forearm shots, but "The Lights" escaping to the outside to keep Blade from continuing on the attack. Mark Perletta: Greyson Blade not wanting to let Dan get away so easily, he reaches in between the ropes and grabs Stein by the head and pulls him back towards the apron, forcing him to get back up onto the apron. Joey C: As Blade slips back in through the ropes to grab Dan Stein over the top rope, Stein ducks in and shoves a shoulder into Greyson's gut between the top and middle ropes. From there Stein gets into the ring and dropkicks Greyson down to the mat. Mark Perletta: Stein back in the ring, he and Greyson then brawl back and forth in the ring, Stein holding his own against The Outlaw, matching his quick and flashy moves up against the brute strength and toughness of Greyson Blade. Joey C: At least one time during the match it actually looked like Blade was surprised at just how hard Dan Stein was coming in on the attack, but The Lights had a few times in the match where he really took it to the World Heavyweight Champion. Mark Perletta: More than once during the match it looked like Greyson Blade was going to gain a considerable advantage, but each of those times Conor McLellan was able to distract either the referee or Greyson Blade or both enough to help Stein stay in the match. Joey C: And that may not sound like much, but trust me, as the match got closer and closer to the end, it definitely had an impact. Start : Footage from the Match Grabbing Greyson by the arm, Stein irish whips his opponent towards the corner, dropping down to his knees and aiming low, sending Blade into the corner hard, practically throwing him into the middle turnbuckle back first. As Blade tries to start getting up, Conor grabs him around the shoulder and over the middle rope, keeping Greyson in the corner just long enough for Dan to run in and NAIL him with a dropkick to the chest that keeps Blade down on the mat. Stein grabs his opponent by the head and lifts him up off the mat, driving his fist into Blade's face, rocking him back. Stein then turns Blade around and continues to hold on to him by the head and he slowly ascends the turnbuckles. Mark Perletta: Dan Stein now climbing up to the top rope, and as he gets there it looks like he's trying to bring Greyson Blade up too... Joey C: He got him up onto the first turnbuckle... now the second... what the heck is Dan Stein going for anyway?! With Greyson up on the second turnbuckle, Dan Stein leans his opponent towards him, then grabs Greyson around the head as if he were going to go for a ddt. Stein then steps back up onto the top turnbuckle, but as he does so he starts to lose his balance and Greyson then grabs him around the leg, reaches up and grabs him by the head with his other arm... hoists him up onto his shoulder.... he hops backwards and twists... OUTLAW DROP! Mark Perletta: I can't believe it! Greyson Blade revived himself enough and was able to capitalize on that momentary instability by Dan Stein and he hits the Outlaw Drop from the top rope!! Joey C: Yeah but I think both men are worse off after that move than before, both crashing down to the mat, and look at Greyson, he rolled halfway across the ring before getting back to his feet! Mark Perletta: All that really matters to Blade, however, is that as he's getting to his feet, Dan Stein is still laid out in the corner. With Stein trying to get up off the mat in the corner, Greyson Blade is on his feet and stands poised and ready in the middle of the ring. Conor McLellan walks around the outside of the ring over to the corner where Stein struggles to get up, whispering something in his ear. As Dan slowly starts to get to his feet, Greyson waits, and as Stein looks to be in prime position, Blade comes barreling in and goes for the KILLSHOT... but Conor shoves Dan out of the way and Greyson hits the corner ringpost! Conor picks up a steel chair he had just set down on the outside, he cocks back and then fires in with a chairshot... but Blade is able to move just enough to avoid getting hit on the head, taking a partial shot to the shoulder. Frustrated, Conor reels back and tries to go for another chairshot, but as he swings through Blade pushes himself back into the ring and the steel chair clangs off of the ringpost. As Blade turns back towards the middle of the ring he is met by Dan Stein who leaps up with one leg... SWINGS THE OTHER OVER.... ENZUIGIRI!!! Stein connects to the side of Greyson Blade's head with a sick looking enzuigiri and Greyson hits the mat like a ton of bricks. Not wasting a moment's time, Dan Stein hooks both of Greyson's legs as he goes for a pinfall attempt, pulling back on the waistband of Blade's jeans for extra leverage... ONE! TWO!! THREE!!! Winner by PINFALL : "The Lights" Dan Stein Mark Perletta: Dan Stein getting some help from Conor McLellan, and that little distraction was all it took to get Stein and advantage, and boy does he capitalize on it! Joey C: Could Dan Stein have beaten Greyson Blade without Conor at ringside? That I don't know, but what I do know is that right now, it doesn't matter, because Stein picks up the win in this non-title match... Mark Perletta: And now it appears that the Disorderly Youth are not, in fact, done with the World Heavyweight Champion... and this... this doesn't look good. THIS is why they attacked Gryffin Anselm before the match. Joey C: Wait, how do you know who attacked Gryffin, it could've been anybody!? Mark Perletta: I think it's very obvious that it was Conor McLellan. We SAW him standing over Anselm with a DENTED chair in his hands! Irregardless, the Disorderly Youth are alone out there with Greyson Blade, and this doesn't look good for Greyson at all. Conor gets into the ring, hands Dan a chair, and then Conor levels Greyson with a chairshot. Stein then steps in and sends a pummelling shot down into Blade's ribs, but then before he can do any further damage, Gryffin Anselm barrells out from the back, running full speed down the isle, the fans erupting in cheers as he slides into the ring, and as he does both Conor McLellan and Dan Stein slides out of the ring, avoiding a confrontation with a VERY pissed off Gryffin Anselm. Stein paces around the outside of the ring as Greyson remains slouched over against the ropes, Anselm standing near him making sure the attack doesn't continue. As Stein looks over at the ring announcer, he asks for a microphone. Stein grabs it, and walks back around the ring towards Greyson, who looks down at him. Dan Stein: What did I tell you, old man? I told you I'd beat your flabby, porous ass in that ring. I told you I'd knock your clock clean... and I did it. Stein runs his hand through his hair, wiping some sweat off of his forehead. Dan Stein: You felt the rush of blood to your head after my boot nearly ripped it off your shoulders. You've lost to Dan Stein, the same 'punk bitch' that you said couldn't 'cut it'. A quick smirk appears on Dan's face. Dan Stein: You're supposed to be the best, Grandpa? You're supposed to be champion? Look at you, grabbing your head, coughing up teeth you swallowed when your face hit the mat. Inside the ring, Greyson starts to work his way back to his feet, his head still in a bit of pain. Dan Stein: I don't give a damn what anyone says. I don't care who else wants to step up and stand in line. I beat you. Now I want your title. Stein starts shaking his head slowly. Dan Stein: Not a couple weeks from now... not in early September at the next pay per view... Definitely not tonight in front of these... Detroit jackasses... But next week... in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Finally... FINALLY... Your name will be up in The Lights... FOR THE LAST TIME. Suddenly a voice booms out over the P.A. system and Smith Cartwright emerges from the curtain with a microphone in hand. Smith Cartwright: Whoa, whoa, wait just a minute, there, Dan. You can't just go around trying to pretend like you're in charge of which matches get booked, especially not World Heavyweight Championship matches! Now granted, you did get a big win here tonight, one that may very well help propell your career into new heights. Because you got a win over Greyson Blade, you will be in line for a shot at the belt he's got, and you may very well be the next guy to get a match for that championship, but you see... you've got a championship of your own right now that needs to be defended. The crowd starts getting excited, not sure what Cartwright is about to say. Smith Cartwright: The last time those World Tag Team Titles were defended was back on June 4th, so it seems to me like they're in need of another title defense sometime in the very near future. Now although we don't have a strict "title defense at least once every 30 days policy", the front office - Rob Belote especially, isn't a fan of seeing someone walk around with a championship that they aren't defending, especially not the tag team championships. The excitement amongst the fans continues to grow. Smith Cartwright: Before you get ANY title shot at another belt, you're going to have to at least defend those World Tag Team Championships at least once, and since I know you don't want to wait very long to get your shot against Greyson and his belt, we're not going to make you wait very long to defend those World Tag Team Titles either! A couple minutes ago when I saw you get the pinfall over Greyson, I called Rob Belote to get the executive decision on who he thought you and Conor should put the belts up against next. At first I thought he might give you a match involving Greyson Blade... maybe put Greyson and Gryffin together and give them a shot at your belts... but the team Rob picked is a team who deserves a shot at those tag titles more than Blade and Anselm do. The fans are hanging on every last word. Smith Cartwright: So next week, when the tour makes a stop in Toronto... the Disorderly Youth will put their World Tag Team Championships on the line against D.J. Cassidy and Herb Moxley... The Revenge of the Nerds!! The crowd erupts in a huge ovation as they hear that the Nerds are getting the title shot next week, and Dan Stein looks livid down at ringside, yet after a few seconds of being irate, Stein resigns himself to the fact at hand and then just starts nodding his head, and then the show fades to black. |
