A NEW HOPE
The TTW logo fades in softly in front of a black background, only silence is heard. Black and white still images, artfully taken, display the likenesses of superstars on the screen. We first see Devastation, obviously on his way down to the ring, with the World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder. That fades out. We then see an image of Greyson Blade, standing in the middle of the ring, the National Title over one shoulder, the Midwest Title over another shoulder. That image fades out as well. The next image that shows up on the screen is one of Herbert J. Moxley standing next to D.J. Cassidy, atop the entrance ramp, both of them holding their World Tag Team Title belts as high above their heads as they can hoist them, an image from the Shockwave where the Revenge of the Nerds became champions. That fades out as well. We are then met with an image of John Thomas as he has Derek Shane locked in the Crossface Chicken Wing, with Shane tapping out. That image fades out sooner than the others, quickly followed by an image of John Thomas hoisting the Television Title. The image of John Thomas is replaced by an image of Marcus Marion, the other two Media Whores at his side, having just exited a limousine in the parking lot area. As that image fades, the images start fading in more quickly now, with an image of Stephen Rawlings replacing it. In the image that shows up on the screen, Stephen Rawlings is standing backstage, obviously not fully getting along with his cousin, Chris Turner. Gryffin Anselm's image follows, as he sits in his locker room, taping up his fists, preparing for a fight. A very creepy look at Chivalric sitting in a boiler room, bandana covering part of his face, sits on the screen for a moment before being covered in a red glow before disappearing. We then see an image of Conor McLellan, joined by his hispanic companion and by Mike Dexter. They appear to be laughing at something. The cocky smirk of John Page appears next, a single crutch held horizontally in his arms. We then see the image of Tim Jones mid-SNAFU on an opponent we can't see. That image fades out, and the next person's face we see is that of Dan Stein, the picture taken just after he had won Sky High Cup 2. The final black and white still image we are greeted with is one of Eric Wolfson and Creed walking down the entrance ramp. As that image fades, so does the TTW logo, for what should be the last time. As the screen fades in, no music is heard, but we do see Rob Belote standing in the middle of a wrestling ring, which is black and yellow instead of the typical blue and black that TTW fans are accustomed to. He is wearing a suit and has a microphone in his hand. The lights, having been dimmed for the retrospective, come up, making Rob more visible to the fans in the arena. Rob Belote: Ladies and Gentlemen, a mere three weeks ago, True Talent Wrestling was supposed to show up, here in the MGM Grand Arena here in Las Vegas, Nevada, and instead of running that show or any others that would follow it, one of its owners decided he just didn't have it in him to run this organization anymore. I can understand that. I've been in that situation before, so I probably know where he's coming from better than ANY of you. ANY of you. Ed Raymond worked his ass off for this place, spent a countless number of endless nights focussed on the TTW product, and for that, he should be commended. The people of Chicago should have a day each year dedicated to Ed Raymond. For near TWO YEARS Ed Raymond worked to take a Midwest wrestling promotion to the top of this industry, and many would agree that he accomplished that goal. The fans in the arena start clapping and cheering, so Rob stops momentarily and looks around, waiting for the reaction to die down before he continues. Rob Belote: When I first heard the news, I was in shock. I didn't want to believe it. I couldn't believe it. Then when I talked to Ed and fully understood what his reasons were and where his intentions lay, well, I decided that I couldn't accept it. I decided that this entity, this roster, this product, was not just going to end. I didn't know how anyone else felt, but I didn't care. I decided that even if HALF of the roster was interested in continuing, that things would continue, and that's why I stand here in front of you today. I won't get into the business aspects of it, but I will tell you the outcome: I am now the sole owner of the entity formerly known as True Talent Wrestling, the entity that will now be known as LEGACY due to the way the naming rights were handled between Ed Raymond and I. Rob starts pacing the ring a little bit as he talks. Rob Belote: Now I know most of you are probably wondering what this new product will be like. For a while there headed to the end of TTW's run, neither Ed nor I were shown on television much, and now here on LEGACY's first Shockwave, I'm the first one you see and hear. Don't take this as something that's going to happen on a weekly basis, but I will say that from time to time, if I need to be seen or heard... I will be. But for now, for this first show, I wanted to come out and address you, the TTW fans, in hopes of reassuring you that the same high quality competition and entertainment you grew accustomed to with TTW... it will continue with LEGACY. If you were with us before, stay with us now and give us a shot. I can't promise that the first two weeks or so will be as smooth as you were used to with True Talent Wrestling, but if you think that just because Ed Raymond isn't around anymore that this product is going to suffer severely for it... you aren't giving me enough credit. You see, I was there with Ed Raymond for a majority of True Talent Wrestling's tenure. I was helping him along the way. I had my share of sleepless nights. I did my share of booking matches. Just because Ed Raymond isn't here, that doesn't mean there isn't a Creative Genius behind the wheel. Rob stops pacing and looks into the camera. Rob Belote: Now down to LEGACY business. I addressed this a bit in my press conference, but because I know the majority of you work during the day and don't have time to catch sports-related press conferences on CNN or MSNBC or ESPN NEWS, I'll go over it again, and this time it becomes official. The Champions. Due to naming rights, new championship belts have been issued earlier today, and those who were champions... remained champions. Devastation will go down in history as being the final True Talent Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion. He will also be recorded as the very first LEGACY World Heavyweight Champion. Herbert J Moxley and D.J. Cassidy, the team you know and love as the "Revenge of the Nerds".... A pop from amongst the fans in attendance interrupts Rob, so he stops speaking momentarily, letting the pop run its course, and as it subsides, he continues. Rob Belote: They were the reigning TTW Tag Team Champions, and they are the first ever LEGACY Tag Team Champions. Greyson Blade was the TTW National Champion, and he is now the LEGACY National Champion. That said, he was also the last ever TTW Midwest Champion, however, since LEGACY is a National promotion and not solely based out of the Chicago area anymore, there is no longer going to be a Midwest Title in this organization, so Greyson will have to cope with just having ONE championship belt for now... but I'll get back to that in a minute. Lastly, there seemed to be a dispute about who the real Television Champion was. John Thomas defeated Derek Shane at Invite to Anarchy, and afterwards we were greeted by a piece of tin and an equally half-assed story by Derek Shane claiming to have just as much right to the Television Title, a dispute that was to be settled in a Best of 5 situation... but that's no longer going to happen. John Thomas is recognized by over 90% of the locker room and sports writers around the nation as the legit Television Champion, and so he is the one who was given the LEGACY Television Championship. I offered Derek Shane the opportunity to fight John Thomas on this, the inaugural LEGACY Shockwave, but he declined, and in doing so, he found himself out of a contract. The audience sounds a bit stunned. Rob Belote: If he decides to return to this organization, he will be welcomed back, but he'll have to leave any fake championship belts he might have created back at home. Now I will apologize to any of you who think I handled that situation a bit too harshly, though I'm sure there aren't many of you who felt like I made the wrong decision in handing the LEGACY Television Championship to John Thomas, as he was the rightfull TTW Television Champion when Ed decided to shut things down. If you feel like I might've been too harsh, you'll just have to start getting used to it, because although this organization under Ed Raymond enjoyed starting controversy, I don't. I don't like to fool around, I like to get down to business, because ratings show that in the end, that's what you, the fans, want. You'll start to understand what I mean as I move on to tonight's bookings. The excitement level in the arena crowd picks up significantly. Rob Belote: When you all heard that the first Shockwave was going to be in Las Vegas' MGM Grand to make up for the show we missed, what you didn't hear about were the matches. Judging by the sellout crowd we have here tonight, it appears that not many people were deterred by not having bookings before they bought their tickets. For that, I thank you. And to show my respect, I've tried to book a show tonight which I believe will be as good if not better than the show you were promised on the 30th of March, a show you were never delivered. Rob slowly starts to pace about the ring, looking out over the fans, wanting to judge their reaction and soak up their praises as he reads the bookings. Rob Belote: I talked a moment ago about how Derek Shane would've been given a shot at the Television Title had he remained on the LEGACY roster, and though Shane decided to leave the roster, that doesn't mean that John Thomas is off the hook for tonight, and that certainly doesn't mean that we don't have a roster full of men deserving that title shot. Honestly, I feel like the roster we've got now is filled with men, all of whom deserve a Television Title shot more than Derek Shane. One individual on the roster was selected to get that title shot, a man who talks a big game, a man whose name brings with it a significant amount of controversy, a man dying to once again prove himself in this business... That is the man who gets the first shot at the LEGACY Television Championship, and so tonight, John Thomas will attempt to defend his championship belt against none other than "The Dexecutioner" Mike Dexter! The fans pop as they hear the match that has just been announced, but Rob doesn't let the pop last very long before he continues. Rob Belote: Now I won't stand out here and announce all the matches we've got coming up tonight, the announcers know what matches have been booked and I'm sure they'll do a great job talking about them as the night progresses, but there is one match that I feel like I can't leave here without mentioning. In the show that should have taken place here three weeks ago, there was supposed to be a World Title Match. The excitement level goes WAY up as the fans pop after getting the idea that there might be a World Title match to occur later in the evening. Rob Belote: It was supposed to be Devastation defending his title against Jonny Johnson, but after having a talk with Jonny's representatives a few weeks ago, it appears that he has decided to retire from this business as his last "dickbag" maneuver. That said, I still feel like this organization OWES YOU a World Title match, so that's what you're going to get. And not only does this organization owe something to YOU, the fans, but I also feel like we owe the former Midwest Champion something as well, so TONIGHT, Devastation WILL DEFEND the LEGACY WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP against NONE OTHER than GREYSON BLADE!!!! The fans pop huge, so loudly so that they almost completely drowned out "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple as it plays over the P.A. system as Rob Belote makes his exit from the ring. The camera then switches over to a shot of Mark Perletta sitting behind the announcer's desk. Mark Perletta: What an evening we have planned for you, and folks, trust me, you don't want to turn that dial, because as we've seen, anything can happen here on LEGACY's Shockwave. I'm Mark Perletta and as always... While Mark is talking he camera zooms out and pans to the side to show another familiar face sitting behind the announce desk... Mark Perletta: I am joined by my announcing partner, Joey C. Joey C: Boy am I glad to be back. For a week or so after the March 30th show was cancelled, I thought I was going to have to start looking through the classifieds to find a new job. Mark Perletta: You and me, both, Joey, and I'm glad that things turned out this way, not just because you and I don't have to look for jobs, but also because I got the feeling that there were a lot of hostilities still brewing between guys, both on a professional level as well as a personal level, and I just felt like we needed to have something like Rise of the Elite 3 to let all of those things play out. Joey C: Not having to wonder about when our next pay check was going to come in helps too, though, Marky, and for that I owe Rob Belote my thanks. It's probably been a while since you've been out of work, but don't forget, I'm the one who was taken off of Shockwave for a while there thanks to Captain Dickbag. Mark Perletta: Well that sort of thing probably won't be happening again with Jonny Johnson no longer a part of this organization, and to be honest, I don't even know that we should spend any more time talking about him. He was a great tag team wrestler in his day, he ascended to the top of other organizations, he nearly reached the pinacle of True Talent Wrestling, but in the end, he wasn't able to defeat Devastation for the World Heavyweight Championship. Joey C: Personally, I sometimes think that Ed Raymond was hoping that The Demoralizer would end up with the World Heavyweight Title strictly due to the controversy it would cause. Mark Perletta: Well as we heard Rob Belote mention a few minutes ago, that won't happen here in LEGACY, if for no other reason than the fact that The Demoralizer is no longer a part of this roster. Greyson Blade apparently gets the shot at Devastation here tonight, and these fans sound like they couldn't be happier. Joey C: Whether you like the guy or not, Greyson Blade has been successful everywhere he's been, whether it's DIWF, OPW, or TTW, he has collected championship belts like they're going out of style, and last time Greyson had a shot at Devastation and the World Heavyweight Title, it was a week after he had won both the National Title and the Midwest Title, so he had a lot going on at that time, so I think now we're going to see a great match between these two that we only saw a preview of last time. Mark Perletta: Not only will we see that great Main Event, but we will also be treated to John Page taking on the World Heavyweight Champion's best friend, Logan Caine, as well as a second championship match tonight as John Thomas defends the belt against Mike Dexter. Joey C: Some people might be wondering why there aren't as many matches this week, as the typical TTW show had 5 or 6 matches, and the way things are starting out here tonight with LEGACY's first Shockwave, there looks to be about half that number. The reasons I've heard for there not being as many matches are two-fold. First, with two championship matches on the card, the front office wanted to give those matches as much time as possible so we don't extend past our televised time slot. Secondly, with the speech that Rob Belote just finished two minutes ago along with some other anticipated chaos amongst roster members, the front office wanted to give as much flex time as possible. GRIEVANCES
Mark Perletta: It appears that one of the scheduled interviews for tonight's first LEGACY Shockwave is up next, so lets catch up with the cameraman who is backstage about ready for things to get started there. The camera cuts to the back where we see a locker room door with a name hanging from a nail. "Dan 'The Lights' Stein" The cameraman pushes the door open, all the lights off. Cameraman: "H-hello?" No response. As the cameraman turns to leave again, a voice calls from a corner. Dan Stein: "Hold on… I'm here…" The cameraman turns around, turning the locker room light on. As it shines in Stein's face, Stein holds up his hand. Dan Stein: "Turn it off, man. I really don't feel good right now." Stein sighs and the camera turns off the light. You can hear Stein attempt to stand up, groaning and grunting. Stein walks forward, off kilter. As Stein approaches the camera, the cameraman gasps. Cameraman: "Have you been drinking?" Stein laughs quickly. Dan Stein: "Since Raymond closed down… yeah. Everyday, back in Cedar Rapids, I've been getting trashed, throwing shit, tossing things out my window… I've been getting stoned with my friends… I've become a total burnout…" The cameraman perks up. Cameraman: "Do you… need any help? I hate to see you like this, Dan." Dan Stein: "Which is why you can't. I don't want your help. I don't want Raymond's help, I don't want the help of my parents, my friends. I don't want anyone to put their effort in for me anymore." Cameraman: "You sure you're okay?" Dan Stein: "I never said I was okay. I never said I felt good. I never said I was doing this because I feel shitty. Why do you people always assume I'm fucked up? What?" Cameraman: "Stein, you've been a mainstay on… Raymond's show. People care about you. People like – no – LOVE you, Dan. We want to make sure you're alright." Dan Stein: "YOU DON'T FUCKING KNOW ME, HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU LOVE ME? NONE OF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WALK IN MY SHOES, NONE OF YOU!" The cameraman takes a step back. Cameraman: "I'm sorry, Dan… I'll come back in a little bit, when you've calmed down." You hear Stein walk forward, grabbing the cameraman by the arm of the windbreaker he's wearing. Dan Stein: "I'm not fucking done, man. Stay here." The cameraman mumbles 'okay' under his breath, and Stein begins to pace. Dan Stein: "You know, all my life I've been listening to people tell me what to do, never doing what I want to. My parents didn't want me wrestling for my schools, I had to work fields. My parents didn't want me working as a firefighter, I had to work fields. Dave Dymond didn't want me wrestling as Prototype X, I had to become Dan Stein. Ed Raymond said he'd give me fame, glory… pride… and he closes down Tee-Tee-Dub before I can get anything he tells me he's going to give me. From what you can see of him, Dan looks distraught. Dan Stein: "This is exactly the thing I was preaching against. Turning your back on people. Putting yourself before someone else." Stein pauses momentarily, obviously collecting himself a bit. Dan Stein: "For nineteen years, I've been listening to people. For almost twenty years I've been someone else's puppet." Stein turns to the camera, a silhouette of his face can be seen. Dan Stein: "I thought telling Conor McClellan, Jonny Johnson and the rest of their clowns off would get Raymond's attention… how was I that fucking wrong? Raymond didn't see me. He saw ratings. He saw Dan Stein bringing fans to the seats, money to Ed Raymond… and Dan Stein got nothing. I was the most under paid wrestler on that roster, yet I had the most talent… the most charisma… I was everything people wanted to be. Guys flocked from other federations to jump on Sky High after I won that fucking tournament… I made True Ta… I made it approachable by the common public. That's what my goal was, that's what I set out to do, and that's what I did. But I got NOTHING in return." Stein shakes his head. Dan Stein: "That's why I'm giving each… and every… single… one… of the fans... of the wrestlers… of the critics… of the smarks… of anyone that ever fucking thought they know me. I've tossing one in the air for Ed Raymond, Dave Dymond and Craig Carson over in OPW now. Fuck all of you. Slight pause before he continues. Dan Stein: "Everything I've set out to do, everything I've wanted to do, I've done. Even shit I haven't wanted to do. Beat Cade Sydal? Did it. Win Model of the Year? Did that. Sky High Champion? That's me. Everything I've wanted to do… I've done. Another pause. Dan Stein: "That's why I'm not depending on anyone to give me a helping hand anymore. I'm doing this for myself now. I'm depending on myself to get me what I want. Stein starts pacing, but then stops. Dan Stein: "You know what I want first? A title. Any fucking title. I want it around my waist, so the ENTIRE nation will look at Dan Stein and see the most motivated man in the business. I want a fucking title... something that everyone's promised me but no one's come through for me… and I'll get it by Rise of the Elite 3. And once I get a title, I'm going to get money… lots… and lots… of money. Pretty soon when you think of a Stellar Wrestler, you're not going to think Rocky Stellar… you'll think Dan Stein. You'll think 'The Lights'… no… You'll think of me, Daniel Stein, not some character Ed Raymond and Dave Dymond created. Me. You can Start Counting on that." The audio cuts, suddenly, and the camera cuts back to a shot of Mark Perletta and Joey C. Mark Perletta: Folks, that was a little unexpected from the usually happy-go-lucky Dan Stein. Joey C: Well it sounds like Dan Stein has some serious problems with Ed Raymond. Mark Perletta: It sure does, but from the sound of things, Dan Stein is more motivated than he has ever been. Joey C: He'll probably do better now than he did before if he can keep from getting drunk every week like he is today. Mark Perletta: I can't remember the last time Dan Stein showed up to a show drunk, so I don't forsee this being a reoccurring problem. Next up is our first match of the night, where we will see John Page take on Logan Caine, who apparently is in contract negotiations right now and has been accepting show-by-show, match-by-match bookings since TTW closed its doors, but it does sound like he's interested in staying on this roster. Joey C: Especially with his good friend Devastation still being the World Champion here. Mark Perletta: That's a good point, Joey, but let's not forget that Devastation is going to be defending that title later tonight against Greyson Blade, the last man Logan Caine faced in the ring prior to being out on injury.
John Page vs Logan Caine
The lights go dim, the video in the centre of the ramp begins to flicker as though a pebble has hit a stone. Vaguely in the background the sound of marching feet is heard slowly a Union Jack seems to rise up from the bottom of the video and "London's Calling" by The Clash begins to play. "London calling to the faraway towns Logan walks out from the back of the arena and stands at the top of the ramp smiling. He's wearing long wrestling tights with the basic design of the Union Jack on one leg, and "Logan Caine" written in white, which is outlined in blue, the blue with a red outline. "London calling to the underworld He begins his walk straight down to ringside tagging a few hands as he makes his way. The fans are giving him a great reaction as he makes his way down the isle. Not wasting any time, Logan slides in under the bottom rope. Walking over into the far corner, Logan waits patiently for his opponent. "London Calling" fades out, and "Heartbreaker" by Led Zeppelin starts to play and John Page walks out from the back wearing a "High Society" tshirt. Mark Perletta: And here comes one of the members of High Society, John Page, in what I believe is his first match back after that injury to his leg which we found out in one of the final TTW Shockwaves wasn't as bad as he initially lead us to believe. Halfway down the isle, John Page sprints to the ring, slides in underneath the bottom rope, stands up and meets Logan Caine in the middle of the ring and starts laying into him with right hands. Logan blocks the third one and retaliates with a right hand of his own, but John Page fires back with a european uppercut that rocks Logan backwards. Joey C: Look at that aggression from John Page! He's really laying into Logan Caine, almost as if he's got some kind of grudge against him. Mark Perletta: Well he might not be too happy about the word regarding Logan Caine's contract negotiations that have circulated amongst the locker room. Joey C: From what I understand, not too many people are happy with the fact that Logan Caine would consider leaving this organization, especially since they stuck with him during his injury. Mark Perletta: From what I understand he is considering staying with the LEGACY Tour. Joey C: There's also the sentiment that Logan Caine might've been given more opportunities in TTW than others, John Page being one of them. Taking Logan Caine by the arm, John Page irish whips his opponent into the corner hard back first. As Logan stumbles out of the corner a few steps, Page rushes in and dropkicks him right in the chest, sending him back into the corner, his arms falling over the top ropes to support him. Page gets right back up and hammers at Logan Caine with a few hard left hands to the face, the referee yelling at him for the closed fists, and then John grabs Logan around the waist and lifts him up and puts him up onto the top turnbuckle, then starts climbing. Once at the top Page gives Caine another European Uppercut, rocking him backwards slightly, and then John grabs Logan around the head, lifts him up and takes him over into a Superplex off the top rope, sending him down to the mat. Mark Perletta: John Page keeping in control of this match, and you have to wonder just how much ring rust Logan Caine still has after being out with that injury. Joey C: To be honest, Marky, I saw him compete once this weekend against, well I guess you would call the person he faced a less than stellar opponent, and even in that match, I wasn't impressed. Taking that concept further, I can't think of the last time Logan Caine impressed me in a match... dating back, I guess, to when he put on a decent match with Marcus Marion for the National Title. Mark Perletta: I think Logan Caine is a talented young individual, and although things don't look very good for him here in the ring so far against John Page, I still think he has tremendous potential. Joey C: Yeah? So what. Potential and $3.45 will get you a tall Caramel Frappoccino from Starbucks. John Page lifts Logan Caine up off the mat and is rocked back by a right hand from the Brit. After another stinging right, Logan Caine grabs John and takes him up into the air and then drops him with a brainbuster. Caine then tries to lock John into a leg submission, but as he leans in, John sits up nails Logan with a hard right hand, rocking him back. When John Page gets to his feet, Logan tries to get his opponent into a lock up, but John Page sends a hard knee shot into the gut of his opponent, doubling him over. John Page then grabs Logan Caine by the arm and sets him up into a pumphandle position, elbow smashing him in the back for good measure, and then he lifts him up as if he's going to go for a pumphandle slam, only to drop him into a sidewalk slam. Keeping in on the attack, Page lifts Logan up off the mat, sets him up into a vertical headscissors position, then lifts him up into a piledriver position, locks his arms around one of Logan's legs... jumps... and NAILS a spike piledriver. Joey C: That's the move I believe he calls the Paper Cut, and Logan Caine looks out! Mark Perletta: John Page going for the pinfall... One. Two. Three. The referee hops up and signals for the bell, John Page standing up and allowing his arm to be raised in victory. Mark Perletta: John Page picks up the win and it looks as if ring rust has affected him less during his comeback from injury than it has Logan Caine. Joey C: Well John Page just seems to be more aggressive than he used to be, and given how successful John Page was back in June and July of last year with the Television Title, it looks like he could be a force in this organization once again. John Page walks backwards up the ramp, a smirk on his face as he watches Logan Caine helped to his feet in the middle of the ring by the referee.
THE ELITE SHALL STILL
RISE
Mark Perletta: Well as Logan Caine makes his exit from the ring, I have the distinct pleasure of making the announcement about how things are going to progress following tonight's Shockwave event for the rest of the LEGACY Tour as it stands tonight. Joey C: Now I saw the Press Conference that Rob Belote gave, and from what I understand, you've been in touch with him and know a little more about the developments that have occurred since then, is that right? Mark Perletta: That's absolutely the case, Joey, and although nothing has been finalized up to this point, there have been some new developments that have slightly changed things from what Rob Belote announced a couple weeks ago, and so the front office wanted me to talk about some of those things here tonight. Joey C: Well there's no time like the present, so let's get on with it, Senor Windbag. Mark Perletta: Well tonight's show coming from Las Vegas' MGM Grand should be the first sign that things aren't happening exactly how they were announced in the press conference. The initial plan was to work the dates that were on the TTW schedule in the arenas in hopes of saving the most money in not defaulting on pre-booked venues. The MGM Grand was booked to be used three weeks ago, but in weighing the options and talking to various venues about this organization's intentions, several deals were brokered to change up some of the dates and transfer some things, keeping with the idea that no shows would be cancelled, and thus the arena booking for March 30th was transfered to tonight. Joey C: I heard a little bit about that, and apparently due to the incredible hype behind this event, this show sold more tickets than the original show did, which resulted in much higher profits for both this organization AND the management company that run the MGM Grand. That speaks volumes for Rob Belote's business prowess, I'd say. Mark Perletta: I don't think that was ever in question. He brokers business deals every day and has been helping run this organization for a long time from the business point of view, so that was never something that people doubted. What has been doubted is his ability to single-handedly run a wrestling organization, despite having done so for a couple years already with his SWA organization. Whether or not he can run this organization will be determined over the weeks leading up to Rise of the Elite 3. Joey C: Now that's what the fans all want to hear about, Marky. When and where is that event taking place? Mark Perletta: The venue has not changed, as this event is still taking place from Manchester, England, however, the date has changed. Originally it was going to take place on May 28th, but due to the time involved in getting the business deals done to make sure that the LEGACY Tour was a go, the show had to be pushed back a week and will now take place on June 4th. Joey C: Any word on matches we might see? Mark Perletta: I think it's a bit premature for any of that. Judging from how the roster has changed in the past three weeks, there's no telling what's going to be happening heading into Rise of the Elite 3, but from what I understand the front office have been in a lot of discussion regarding the different scenarios surrounding the World Heavyweight Title going into this organization's biggest pay per view of the year, and the various opponents who could challenge for the belt based on who has it at that time.
DOMINION
All of a sudden the lights go dark and an ice blue spotlight appears at the entrance way... "And I wonder day to day Joey C: OH MY GOD, IT CAN'T BE! Mark Perletta: I haven't heard that song in a few years now Joey. "I feel for you The chords of "Whatever" by Godsmack blast throughout the building. Fans are on their feet not knowing whether to cheer or to boo but they all know something's going down* "I don't need to fantasize From behind the curtain appears a figure wearing a black Armani suit and holding a microphone. As the music fades out and the figure raises his head, old-school fans start roaring as they know exactly who that is. Joey C: THAT'S JAKE FUCKING DOMINION! JAKE DOMINION'S HERE IN LEGACY! Mark Perletta: For you old school fans, the man standing in front of us now is J.D. Ice, he's travelled the world from AODWF to SH... Joey C: SHUT UP MARKEY MARK, LET THE MAN SPEAK! The figure who's now been revealed as Jake Dominion raises his arms in the air as to quiet the crowd down as he begins to speak... Jake Dominion: Ladies and Gentleman, allow me to introduce myself to those who don't know me. My name's Jake Dominion, most of you know me by my nickname J.D. Ice... Chants of "J.D. Ice" start throughout the building, Jake pauses as to soak in the cheers, and after a brief pause, he continues... Jake Dominion: Boy you never miss that. Anyway, I'm sure that those who know me have one question and that's "where the fuck have I been for the last three years?" Well I'll tell you... Dominion pauses and then continues. Jake Dominion: I took time away from this business to start my family. For those who last remember seeing me, I had married the beautiful Chloe Kings-Dominion and we now have a healthy two year old boy. Now I'm not here to bore you with what I've done, I have unfinished business and that has led me right here to LEGACY! Chants of LEGACY starts Jake Dominion: And what better to celebrate my 33rd birthday today on this lovely 4/20 than right here in LAS VEGAS!!! The crowd roars again and chants of "Happy Birthday" start up. Jake Dominion: Thank you, thank you, you're far too kind. Now I'm sure the question everyone is wondering is "what is Jake Dominion doing here in LEGACY?" Well let me tell you this, it's not for the titles, it's sure as hell not for the money cuz how many common folk can rock an Armani suit like this? It's for the glory, it's for the feeling you get inside your gut every time you step out in front of millions of fans and give them your all, it's for the blood, sweat and tears you lose each and every time you go out and it's for the LEGACY you leave behind... Jake pauses for a moment before he continues... Jake Dominion: I'm here to show the doubters that I still got it; I'm here to show the youngin's that the King of Old School can still hang witcha; I'm here to keep kickin' ass, taking names and being the best trash-talker in the business bar-none! Jake pauses again to mini "Old School" chant that started before he continues... Jake Dominion: Let me slow it down for a sec. Las Vegas, the land of gambling, gold, flash, pizzazz, and hot bitches. You all should be sitting back, drinking martini and pissing money that you don't have away, but you're not, you're here, you're watching LEGACY and you're watching the best that wrestling has to offer to you and to that I commend each and every one of you. I'd like to give a shout out to a man I respect dearly, a man that I had the honor of being one of his last three matches during his retirement run, and the man that's running the show right now, and that man is Rob Belote... The crowd starts to roar at the mention of the owner's name but as always there are some boos cuz not everybody, (no matter how loved you are) is cheered all the time... Jake Dominion: Rob, our path will cross soon enough buddy, I promise you that. And to the rest of the LEGACY roster, you've all just been put on notice. From A to Z, I don't really care. If you cross my path, you'll be damn sure that I'll be taking you down. I don't need friends, I don't need allies, I've been doing it for 10+ years on my own and that doesn't change. Think I'm rusty? Think I've lost a step? Then fucking step up to the plate and be prepared to be shot the fuck down! The crowd roars again to the intensity coming from Jake Dominion Jake Dominion: Cuz whether you love me, you hate me, or you don't know who the fuck I am, (trust me, you'll know soon enough) I couldn't give two shits. There's a bunch of guys here I recognize, and a bunch that I've never seen before but I'll tell you one thing, you will all know who Jake Dominion is whether I have to beat it down your fucking throat or not. The LEGACY of Jake Dominion will live on and I swear some of you will regret letting me back from my hiatus. Jake Dominion's back bitches and there's nothing that anybody can do about it. The king is back up on his thrown, and I'd just like to see someone come and try to knock him down... The chords of "Whatever" by Godsmack start to blast across the building as Jake Dominion drops his mic. He gets a mixed reaction, mostly cheers, as he stunts to the crowd and then disappears back behind the curtain, and then the view switches back to a two-shot of Mark Perletta and Joey C. Mark Perletta: What a big addition to this organization's roster that is, and for those who don't know him, that was Jake Dominion, formerly known as "J.D. Ice". Joey C: The guy's a champion, and while we aren't going to get into all the title belts he's won, one of the main highlights of his career, something that the fans of this organization will understand as being important, is that Jake Dominion was part of the tag team who ended the reign with the tag team titles that put the Beautiful People on the map. Mark Perletta: He sure was, and not only does he have that great tag title win on his resume, but he's got plenty of singles titles on his resume as well. Glad to have him on the roster, and folks, if you're thinking he's just going to be a name on the roster and isn't going to make an impact around here, I'll say you're wrong.
BACKSTAGE
Mark Perletta: With one match already complete and a couple more yet to go, tonight’s card is topped off with what should be a great encounter in the main event between Devastation and The Outlaw Greyson Blade for the LEGACY World Title, and I for one am truly looking forward to it. Joey C: It’ll be a battle of fan favorites Mark, and it’ll be interesting to see who the fans side with tonight. The first time around when these two matched up, somehow, someway as the match progressed the solidly Devastation crowd turned more and more in Blade’s favor, to dare I say desiring a new champion that night. Mark Perletta: Well a match for the ages is in store for us tonight, and I’m receiving word that Smith Cartwright is backstage attempting to get an interview with The Outlaw, who we understand arrived at the arena a few minutes ago. The camera changes to a shot from the backstage parking area, but what is shown in that scene … is horrific. Mark Perletta: My God! Someone get help back there … we need paramedics back there now! Joey C: This is despicable Perletta and you know I’m not moved easily but my God! Legacy vision brings us the terrible site. In the parking lot we the truck The Outlaw arrived in with both of the side windows shattered out, some crimson staining them. What’s even more disturbing is we see The Outlaw lying across the hood of the black Ford F-150, the windshield is smashed in and barely supporting the weight of The Outlaw on top of it. He’s unconscious with his entire face and neck covered in crimson. The silence around him is sickening … as there is no help for him. Mark Perletta: Someone get back there now! He could be seriously hurt … dammit why is no one back there! Joey C: I’m just receiving word that as soon as he saw the scene, Smith Cartwright went for help, and that EMTs are on the way Mark, but this could be a serious, serious injury Mark, hell he could be out tonight in his match with Devastation for the big strap. The EMT’s FINALLY arrive and begin to try and assess Blade’s condition, and the scene flips back to a two-shot of Perletta and Joey C. Mark Perletta: Now that help has finally arrived we have to get on with the show, but we will keep you updated as the show progresses on The Outlaw’s condition, and I'm sure that someone's going to be looking into this situation to find out who did this to Greyson Blade. Joey C: With a World Heavyweight Title shot pending here tonight, there are a lot of people who would have Greyson in their sights, the only question being which one of those people did it. And I hate to just so quickly jump from this situation onto something else, but we're about to have our second match of the night.
Television Title Match
Mike Dexter vs John Thomas (c)
“Absent Element” by Finger Eleven starts to play over the speakers and out from the back walks "The Dexecutioner" Mike Dexter. Sunglasses over his face, he walks down to the ring, a swagger in his step. Without paying any attention to the booing from the fans, he just hops up onto the apron and then enters the ring, walking to the far corner and climbing up onto the second rope, throwing his fists in the air, almost as if he's expecting to hear the fans cheer, though almost all of them boo. Mark Perletta: Mike Dexter still not a fan favorite in these parts, and I guess even with The Demoralizer not around, they still associate him with the New Circus, and for all we know, he probably still associates with Conor McLellan. Joey C: He might still associate with Jonny, Quinn, and Riley, for all we know. Just because those guys aren't a part of LEGACY, that doesn't mean that people stop being friends. Those guys gave Mike Dexter a second chance, helped him get a contract with this organization, and he's not just going to forget that sort of thing. The Finger Eleven song stops playing and then "Hey Man Nice Shot" by Filter hits the P.A. system and the fans in the arena go nuts. When the chorus kicks in the first time as the tempo reaches its peak, John Thomas steps out from the back, wearing his blue and white ring tights and a matching blue and white hooded poncho entrance attire robe. As he walks down the isle, he slaps the out-stretched hands, and then he hops up onto the ring apron and hops over the top rope. He takes off the poncho robe and drops it out of the ring over the top rope, exposing the Television Title around his waist. Unhooking the belt, John hops up onto the middle rope and thrusts it into the air, eliciting a big response from the fans. Mark Perletta: John Thomas showing the fans a bit of respect by holding up the Television Title for them, and you have to think that somehow, that's his way of saying that he's still the champion even after Derek Shane claimed to still have claim to the belt. Joey C: Well whatever the reason, it looks like Mike Dexter's not happy about it. Moving right past the referee, Mike Dexter runs over and grabs John Thomas from behind and pulls him down off of the turnbuckle and nails him with a huge forearm shot to the back, dropping him down to one knee. Unrelenting even with the referee yelling at him, Mike Dexter continues to pummel John Thomas with right hands, dropping him all the way down to the mat. Taking the Television Title off of the ground, the referee jogs over to the corner closest to the time keeper's table and calls for the bell to get things started, and then hands the Television Title to the ring attendant. Mark Perletta: Mike Dexter getting things started right away, and he's going to have to keep on John Thomas if he wants to walk out of this match as the LEGACY Television Champion. Picking John Thomas up off the mat, Mike Dexter nails him with a forearm shot, then pulls him in close as he nails him in the gut with a kneelift to the gut. With John doubled over, Dexter nails him with a double axhandle to the back, dropping Thomas down to the mat. Picking John up, Mike Dexter hits him with a backbreaker, but instead of dropping Thomas down to the mat, Dex hits him with a second backbreaker, and then drops him down to the mat. Grabbing John by the head, Mike Dexter lifts him up to his feet but before he can keep in on his offense, Thomas nails him with a strong right hand, then a second one. Dexter swings at John but he ducks the punch, shoves Dexter, spinning him around, and then he grabs Dexter around the waist, lifts him up into the air and then falls backwards, leaning to the side and dropping Mike Dexter onto his shoulder. Mark Perletta: Nice move there by John Thomas, slightly tweaking a typical belly-to-back suplex to create a bigger impact on Mike Dexter's shoulder, and you know what he's thinking of working towards. Joey C: Oh he's definitely hoping to lock Dex into the Crossface Chicken Wing, but I don't think that's happening. Both men get to their feet, and this time it's Mike Dexter who gets a punch in, and before John can retaliate, Dex irish whips JT into the corner where he hits hard back first. Dexter then runs in and leaps up into the air to go for a splash, but John Thomas moves forwards a few steps, catches Mike Dexter mid-air, and then John turns, falls, and drops Dex's neck across the top rope with a stun-gun, propelling him backwards into the middle of the ring. With Mike Dexter on the mat choking, John Thomas moves in and grabs him by the arm and pulls him up to his feet, where he immediately twists and locks Dex into a standing armbar, and then he twists it again, further wrenching it in. From there, John Thomas yanks down hard, putting strain on Dex's shoulder. After yanking down a second time on Mike's arm, John twists further on Mike's arm and then gets behind him, then he leaps into the air and nails Dex with a standing dropkick to the back of the shoulder. Mark Perletta: Nice show of athleticism with that standing leaping dropkick to the shoulder, and John Thomas is definitely going to work on the shoulder of Mike Dexter. Taking Dex by the arm, John Thomas brings him back up to his feet and hits an armdrag takeover, then lays stomps into Mike's shoulder. Lifting him back up by the arm, John Thomas locks Mike Dexter into another standing armbar, but before he can capitalize, Dex grabs John by the arm and pulls him in and drops him to the mat with a short clothesline. Trying to keep in on the attack, Mike pulls John up to his feet and irish whips him into the ropes, and on the return Dex jumps up and grabs Thomas by the head with his legs and takes him down with a frankensteiner. Mark Perletta: Nice maneuver by Mike Dexter, and he's right back in this match. Joey C: A very under-rated cruiserweight, Mike Dexter is. Being part of the Sky High Tour would've been huge for the visibility of The Dexecutioner. Mark Perletta: Well supposedly the front office is going to be meeting following the show to discuss the Sky High Tour, and I have been told that we will have an announcement regarding that next week. As John Thomas gets to his feet, Mike Dexter lays into him twice with punches. From there, Dex picks him up as if he's going for a fallaway slam, but instead of going for the move, Dex turns and walks a few feet to the corner and then he gets up to the second rope, puts one foot on the top rope, and then he flips backwards and comes crashing down to the mat still holding John across his chest, John crashing down hard on his back. Landing on top of JT, Dex hooks the leg, going for the pinfall attempt, the referee in good position to make the count. One! Two! No!! John Thomas kicks out, and a distraught Mike Dexter grabs John, lifts him up to his feet, then bodyslam's him down to the mat, then jumps and drops a legdrop across John's neck. Then after lifting John up to his feet and nails him with a forearm shot to the face, but John Thomas retaliates and nails Dexter with a second shot. From there, Dexter goes for a second shot of his own, but the punch is blocked by JT, who grabs Dex's arm, twists it around into a standing armbar, and then yanks down violently. Holding on to the arm he's been attacking all match, John backs up towards the corner and starts walking up the turnbuckles, getting to the top rope, and then he starts walking across the top rope. Halfway down the length of the ring, John stops, and he and the crowd both yell out "NEW SCHOOL", and John leaps off the top rope and drives his knee into Dexter's shoulder, riding it down to the mat, John doing a forwards roll as they hit the mat. Mark Perletta: John Thomas with the New School, and we know what's coming next! Joey C: Look out for it, Dex!! John Thomas steps back, bending at the knee, stalking Mike Dexter as he stirs on the mat. As The Dexecutioner slowly starts to get to his feet, JT maneuvers himself behind Dex so that he won't see him as he gets up, and as Dexter gets to his feet, John Thomas moves in and goes to lock in the Crossface Chicken Wing, and the fans start cheering. Mike Dexter fights it, though, and John can't lock in the move. Changing his strategy, John twists his arm, which still has Mike Dexter's wrist locked in it, around the head of Mike Dexter, forcing Dex's own arm around his throat, and once John steps back-to-back with Mike Dexter, he pulls, jumps, and DROPS Mike Dexter with his sick falling neckbreaker drop, and the fans go wild. John Thomas immediately spins around and hooks the leg and goes for the pinfall. ONE!!! TWO!!!! THREE!!! The referee calls for the bell and walks over and is handed the LEGACY Television Championship by the ring attendant, and then the referee walks over and hands the championship belt to John Thomas, who takes the belt, walks over to the corner, and then steps up onto the second turnbuckle and hoists the belt into the air, getting another huge pop from the fans. Mark Perletta: Another big win for John Thomas, but I think just as important as that, we saw some nice moves by Mike Dexter in this match. Joey C: A lot of people don't give Mike Dexter the respect he deserves for being a good cruiserweight style wrestler, but he proved here tonight that he has some good cruiserweight maneuvers in his arsenal. Mark Perletta: That he does, and say what you will, Mike Dexter had a good chance at winning the third Sky High Cup, and as we mentioned earlier, we will have more information on that coming up next week after the front office meets this week to discuss the future of the Sky High Cup.
OFF THE LEASH
As the crowd continues to buzz, they are all pissed off by the sound of a familiar song hitting the arena’s sound system. As “Passive” by A Perfect Circle kicks up, Nicholas Creed steps out onto the LEGACY stage for the first time, as always accompanied by his manager Eric Wolfson. Mark Perletta: Wait a minute, last we heard from these two, Wolfson said he wasn’t managing Creed anymore. And now he is again? Joey C: Come on, Marky. You bought that shit? Mark Perletta: Huh? Nicholas Creed walks around the ring, testing the ropes and turnbuckles as Wolfson is the first to take a microphone. Eric Wolfson: LEGACY… Eh? Wolfson pauses as Creed comes alongside him. Eric Wolfson: Eeeehhh… OK. I guess I can dig that. From TTW, True Talent Wrestling… To LEGACY. As the scenery changes, as the ring mat changes, as the logo changes, I have to wonder. Has anything really changed? Wolfson looks over at Creed, who is simply standing next to him with his arms crossed. Eric Wolfson: I mean, look, right there at the announce table. *Points* You’ve got Joey C, my dogg, and that ugly bastard Mark Perletta. Mark Perletta: What? But… Joey C: Hahahahahaha! Please, Marky, you ARE an ugly bastard. I just didn’t have the heart to tell you. Creed shakes his head in disgust. Eric Wolfson: So what HAS changed? Well, we’ve got Rob Belote running the entire show now. Ed Raymond is gone and with him, the TTW name. So is Rocky Stellar, which I’m extra happy about. That said, I thought I would bring a little clarity to this whole thing. Break this down for you. Joey C: Finally, someone to tell it like it is. Eric Wolfson: The truth is… Nothing has changed. Ed Raymond and Rocky Stellar were meaningless to us. So is Rob Belote. Because despite that fat ass rulebook that seems to always get thrown in my face, the reality of this whole thing is we’re going to do whatever we want, no matter who is running the show. I’m still going to manage SIN, I’m still going to give him the advice I think he should have and he’s still going to do what he does. And if you think he does what he does good now, just wait until you get a taste of what he can do. The crowd boos as Creed takes the microphone. Nicholas Creed: Just as a little reminder. To everyone. Everyone out there in the crowd, everyone out there in TV land, everyone in the back and everyone up there in the front office. I played the game your way. I did what was asked of me. And what did that get me? Not a fucking thing! I followed Wolfson’s rules, I followed Stellar’s rules… Now I’m following MY RULES. Wolfson applauds, bringing on a bit of confusion to everyone else. Nicholas Creed: I was like a pit bull before. Locked in my little cage. Sedated. On Wolfson’s leash, taking orders, following commands… Now… Now we do things my way. You can rename the promotion and I really don’t care who’s signing the paychecks. You fuckers are gonna see SIN now. And believe me, that’s not good news for anyone. Creed tosses the mic into the crowd, allowing the guy who catches it enough time to yell “SCREW YOU!!” before the mic is cut. Joey C: Creed… Err… SIN has got that fire in his eyes, Marky. I know we’ve only known him for roughly six months, but I think you’ll agree that we’ve never seen that look in his eyes before. It’s almost chilling. Mark Perletta: He definitely seems ready to dish out some punishment. And with Eric Wolfson guiding him and actually ENCOURAGING this type of attitude… He’s right. That’s not good news for anyone. Both men leave the ring and head up the ramp. Wolfson taking time to jaw with the fans who line the ramp, Creed simply ignoring everyone and disappearing into the back.
BACKSTAGE BOOKING
The camera cuts backstage and we see Rob Belote standing in the hallway, the tag team champions Herbert J Moxley and DJ Cassidy standing on one side of him, still wearing their street clothes, championship belts on their shoulders. On the other side of him are Stephen Rawlings and Chris Turner, they too, are dressed in street clothes. Rob Belote: Guys, I called this little meeting to let the four of you know what's going on next week. Before we took that little hiatus, it seemed like there were some tensions mounting between the four of you, despite some of you being friends. I think the best way to handle this situation is to just cut through all the awkwardness and mixed signals and "possibly accidental" chairshots and just move it right into the ring. Next week, Moxley, Cassidy, the two of you will be defending your LEGACY World Tag Team Titles against the team of The Odd Cousins, Stephen Rawlings and Chris Turner. Rob looks down at his watch and then at his clipboard. Rob Belote: I trust that since three of the four of you are already friends that this will stay civil until you meet in the ring next week. If it doesn't... Rob looks directly at Chris Turner. Rob Belote: Well then, the match will happen anyway. For now I have other things going on, so if you'll excuse me... With that, Rob pats Moxley on the back with one hand and Rawlings on the back with the other and then heads off down the corridor. Herbert glances at DJ, then gazes off dramatically into the distance. Moxley: And thus begins our journey within the LEGACY Tour. Herbert blinks. Moxley: I wonder why they are calling it a tour? Does that make Lord Belote the tour guide? I once heard tell that tour guides excpect tips... I daresay I cannot afford to tip a man who washes his fiddly-bits with bags of gold. Cassidy just shakes his head - Herbert then turns to Steven. Moxley: Alas sir Rawlings, your TTW grand slam destiny was not achieved - and now you must start over, teamed up with a cousin you hate, whilst us humble nerds are already champions. I pray fortune smiles upon yopu - just not right away - Best of luck gentlemen! Rawlings looks at Moxley for a moment, and then at Turner who winks at Rawlings. Rawlings then shakes his head and runs out into the hall after Rob Belote. Stephen Rawlings: NO WAY!!! Absolutely NOT! I will not wrestle with Chris. I told you and Ed that a month ago, and that doesn't mean that just because Ed is gone that I will change my damn mind. NO! I'm not wrestling with Chris. Rob Belote: Now first of all, a month ago you told Ed that you won't wrestle with Chris Turner as your tag team partner anymore, but this is a month later, and now you're dealing with me, not Ed. I understand where you're coming from, I know the two of you are as different as cousins can be, but see if you can follow me on this for a moment. First of all, you know Chris has some issues with Herbert J Moxley and DJ Cassidy for whatever reason. You know that when he gets something in his head, he doesn't just forget about it, there's no changing his mind until he at least gets the chance to try, so sooner or later he's going to get into the ring with those guys one way or another. Rob holds up a second finger and continues. Rob Belote: Another thing I know is that you're wanting to be a Grand Slam Champion in this organization, and while the name over the door changed from "TTW" to "LEGACY", these are still the same championship belts, and it seems to me like sooner or later you're going to need to get the tag team titles. It's fairly obvious to me that Chris Turner gets fairly jealous of you, so there's no real way he's going to let you get another partner to team up with while he's around. And while you may not see him as the best partner ever, if you look at the best tag teams of all time, you'll notice that a lot of them have partners who compliment each others styles while having one sort of unifying bond. Rob crosses his arms over his chest and grins. Rob Belote: I think you and Turner have the chance to be one of those great tag teams, Stephen. Given his loyalty to you, I don't see him turning his back on you, and given the fact that he seems willing to do anything for you, there shouldn't be any reason that you would need to turn on him. Having a tag team partner that you can trust to always be there for you and who won't turn on you, that's a fairly important component in making a successful team. That, mixed with the fact that your styles are very different and yet very complimentary, I think you two stand a good chance next week, but mark my words... You two WILL be teaming up next week. Now if you don't mind, I really do have to get going. Rob walks off down the corridor, leaving Stephen Rawlings standing there, thinking about what Rob Belote just told him, and thinking about how he's going to handle being Chris Turner's tag team partner again next week, in a Tag Team Title Match nevertheless. After walking away, Rob Belote makes his way towards the gorilla position. Just prior to getting there, Rob sees Devastation, World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder, waiting for his match. Devastation looks confused about something, and when he sees Rob walking up to him, he meets him halfway. Devastation: So what's going on, Rob? I saw what happened to Greyson and I figured the match would be off, but then I got a word from one of your people that the match was going on. He didn't look like he was in any shape to wrestle, man. He's not going to be able to give it 100% out there, and out of respect for Blade, I'd be willing to put this match off a week or two to let him heal up. Rob puts his hand on Devastation's shoulder. Rob Belote: Don't worry about it, Dave. We promised these fans a World Title match three weeks ago, I promised them earlier tonight that they'd see one, and I can't break my promise. Your match is up next, so go on out there and after your entrance, I'll tell everyone what's going on. Devastation stares at Rob for a moment, but Rob just pats the World Title over Devastation's shoulder. Rob Belote: Hey, come on, now, you're the champ, you don't have anything to worry about, right? Devastation stares at Rob for another moment, and then he turns and walks up the steps behind him.
World Heavyweight Title
Match
?? vs Devastation (c) The house lights in the arena drop down and white spotlights start encircling the crowd and suddenly "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath starts playing over the P.A. system and the fans start cheering, knowing who's coming. As the recognizable guitar rift starts up, Devastation walks out from the back, wearing a full robe, a hood covering his head, much like a boxer typically does. The robe untied, the LEGACY World Championship is visible around Devastation's waist. Mark Perletta: And here we are, getting set for the main event, and as the World Champion Devastation uncharacteristically comes out to the ring first for this match, we still don't know who his opponent is going to be. Joey C: As we just heard, though, Rob Belote is about to give us some insight into that here in a minute. Mark Perletta: Well no matter who Devastation's opponent is, I still have my money on the champ. Given his track record in matches with that belt on the line, I find it hard to bet on anyone else. Joey C: I'm going to be reserving judgement until I at least find out who his opponent, or opponents, will be. As soon as Devastation gets into the ring, he stands in the middle and looks up the ramp at the entrance stage and waits. The house lights remain down but half of the spotlights remain focussed on Devastation in the middle of the ring, the other half circle the crowd. As "Iron Man" fades out, "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple starts playing over the speakers, and as Rob Belote steps out onto the entrance stage, the spotlights that were circling the crowd focus down on him atop the entrance ramp. Rob Belote: Let's cut the music and get down to business. *Rob waits and as the music stops, he continues* Earlier tonight I promised the fans here in Las Vegas that there was going to be a World Heavyweight Championship match, and that's exactly what you're going to get. You've been waiting three weeks to get the opportunity to watch Devastation defend that belt, so I'm not going to disappoint you. Greyson Blade is, in fact, in the hospital at this point, unable to wrestle, but there are plenty of guys in the locker room who are worthy of a shot, but we picked one who we think is worthy of a Las Vegas title bout. After three weeks, your wait... ends now. Rob walks over to the announce booth, which is to one of the sides of the entrance stage, and the fans keep watching the top of the entrance ramp in anticipation. Suddenly the lights go completely out and "Set it Off" by Audioslave starts up over the speakers and golden spotlights shine down over the stage and suddenly "Media Whores" is written on the TalentTron and as the fans see it, they immediately start booing, the intensity picking up a notch as Marcus Marion steps out from the back. Joey C: YES!! Is this for real? Is this who got the title shot?! Mark Perletta: Assuming that he's not just making an unscheduled appearance to say something, it appears as if Marcus Marion is going to be Devastation's opponent for the main event, but this raises some questions which I think we can get answered by our guest. We are being joined at the announce position by the owner of LEGACY Championship, Rob Belote. Rob Belote: You two excited about tonight's Main Event? It sure sounds like the crowd is looking forward to it. Mark Perletta: Anytime this organization has a World Title match, I'm glad to be sitting right here in the announce booth with Joey C, here. But I think there's a question I've got to ask, Rob. Have you figured out yet who attacked him? Rob Belote: Being the first Shockwave back after that three week break, I've had to attend to quite a bit tonight, especially with Ed Raymond no longer here to help share the responsibilities and what with half of my main event getting injured. So the answer to that question is no, I haven't been able to personally attend to it, but I'd say the fact that we've got a World Heavyweight Championship match about to begin shows how adept I am at running a show. We've got plenty of time to figure out who was behind the Greyson Blade attack. Marcus Marion continues down the ramp slowly, basking in the reception he's being given by the fans as he walks down the isle, headed for the biggest opportunity thus far in his career. Mark Perletta: So how did you happen to pick Marcus Marion out of a locker room of possibilities? Joey C: Isn't it obvious that Marcus Marion is the right man for the opportunity? I mean, look at the reaction he's getting from these fans! He's EASILY the most hated man in that locker room. Rob Belote: There were plenty of great options to choose from, but I think it's obvious that, over the past few months, Marcus Marion has really grown into a superstar who could be the representative for this organization or any of the others around the world, and I'm just giving him the opportunity that Ed Raymond never gave him to see what he can do with it. It's plain to see that the fans feel passionately about him, and if it's one thing I've learned during my time in the business is that you don't want a champion that the fans feel luke warm about. Mark Perletta: Well if one thing can be said about Marcus Marion, it's that everyone has an opinion on the young man. Joey C: And need I point out that not EVERYONE hates him like you do, Marky? Face it, the guy is marketable, probably moreso than Devastation or anyone else in LEGACY Championship Wrestling. Mark Perletta: Well I don't know about that, but what I do know is that marketability isn't what wins or keeps championship belts, and he's going to have to rely on his in-ring skills if he wants to come away with the championship belt that Devastation has been holding for the better part of the last year. Marcus Marion walks up the ring steps and walks down the apron, his eyes locked on Devastation, even as he ducks under the top rope and gets into the ring. He walks halfway across the ring and just stares into the unflinching eyes of Devastation, stands there for a moment, and then backs into his corner, taking off his "Media Whores" tshirt and tossing it into the crowd. Mark Perletta: An interesting entrance for Marcus Marion, walking down to the ring alone, not requesting the microphone for a pre-match interview as per usual. Rob Belote: That's part of my doing. When I approached him to let him know that his usual antics weren't going to cut it tonightthe show running slightly long already as it is. People have built the false impression about Marcus Marion that he's more of a side-show entertainment act than a serious wrestler, and I'll admit, while that is how it seems, part of my talk with Marcus today was about the fact that I know he can wrestle. I've seen it, especially when he wrestled Logan Caine and became the first National Champion. Given the opportunity, I think Marcus Marion is going to impress people with how talented he is in the ring. The referee satisfied that both men are ready to go, he takes the World Heavyweight Championship from Devastation, holds it high into the air, and then takes it over to the ring attendant and calls for the bell to start the match. The two men meet in the middle of the ring and immediately Devastation grabs Marcus Marion into a collar-and-elbow tie-up, and from there quickly switches into a side headlock. Using his hands to pry Devastation's elbow from underneath his chin, Marcus Marion fights out of the hold, but before Marion can break free, Devastation spins around, locking in a front facelock, and then immediately grabs Marion by the waist and then takes him up and over and drops him with a snap suplex. Not letting go of the facelock on Marion, Devastation rolls over onto his stomach, then gets his feet underneath him one by one and then gets to his feet, bringing Marion up with him. After kneeing Marcus in the gut, Devastation lifts his opponent up off the mat and goes for a vertical suplex, but as he carries Marcus up over the top, Marion shifts his weight and spins around, landing behind Devastation. Immediately Marcus starts kicking Devastation in the back of the leg, the third one drops him down to the mat onto one knee. Mark Perletta: Marcus Marion going to work on Devastation's legs, softening him up. Rob Belote: Taking a page out of the champ's book, that's what Marcus Marion is doing. As Marion moves in to try to take advantage, Devastation pivots and stands up, pelting Marcus with a hard right hand to the head. Then another. As Marion goes to land a punch of his own, Devastation blocks it, then grabs his opponent around the waist and throws him backwards with a huge belly to belly release suplex. Both men get to their feet and Devastation sends Marcus into the ropes with an irish whip, and on the return he clotheslines Marion to the mat. After quickly getting back to his feet, Marcus ducks a running clothesline attempt from Devastation, then he turns around and when Devastation turns around to meet Marcus, the champ is taken down by a dropkick. Joey C: Good job by The True Revolutionary to take advantage of an opportunity. Mark Perletta: No one claimed that Marcus Marion couldn't wrestle, but the criticism about him is that he's not as talented as some people hype him up to be. Rob Belote: I think the best way to describe the situation is that Marcus Marion hasn't proven how good he really is yet, although Devastation has, so I don't blame anyone for thinking that Devastation is the clear favorite in this match here tonight. Keeping in on the attack, Marcus grabs Devastation as he gets to his feet and attempts an irish whip, but it's reversed. On the return, Devastation tries to go for a clothesline, but Marion dives forward feet first and lands a dropkick to the same knee he was working on earlier in the match, sending Devastation down to the mat. Staying in on the attack, Marcus starts stomping on Devastation's knee, then grabs him by the foot of the target leg, lifts it straight up, then drives the knee straight down into the mat. Then a second time. Taking him by the ankle, Marion goes for an ankle lock submission, but before he can get it locked in, Devastation rolls onto his back, pulls his knee in close, then shoves his opponent away with his free leg, Marcus stumbling backwards into the corner. Mark Perletta: An awkward fall there by Marion, and it looks like he wasn't expecting Devastation to do that. Rob Belote: Maybe a hint of arrogance shown there by Marcus Marion, as that would easily be his biggest weakness. Mark Perletta: I'd have to agree with that assessment. As Devastation gets to his feet, Marcus Marion runs in for a clothesline, but Devastation is able to duck it, and then he meets Marion as he turns around with a hard right hand, followed by a second right hand, and then he grabs him by the head and arm and lifts him up and over into a bridging Northern Lights suplex, holding on for the pinning attempt... ONE!! TWO!! NO!! Mark Perletta: Marion shoulders out after a two. Devastation is the first of the two to return to a vertical base, and he shifts his body position slightly, lowering into a half crouch stance, his arms out in front of him. As Marcus Marion gets up, Devastation reaches in to lock him into a hold, but Marion moves out of the way just in time and lays into his opponent with a few quick punches, and then just before Devastation can fight back, Marcus jams his thumb into his eye, momentarily blinding the World Heavyweight Champion, giving him enough time to take Devastation down with a clothesline. Devastation doesn't stay on the mat long, however, and when he gets up, Marcus Marion grabs him by the head and takes him down with a snapmare. Backing up a few steps, Marcus Marion then runs in and flips over Devastation, grabbing him by the head on his way over, pulling him forward and letting go just in time to snap Devastation backwards and down to the mat. Getting up to his feet, instead of staying in on the attack, Marcus Marion looks out over the booing crowd and he holds his hands up into the air and then motions as if he were outlining a championship belt around his waist, further insighting the crowd. Mark Perletta: Athletic maneuver by Marcus Marion, snapping the head of the champion back, giving him a bit of whiplash, and now he's being a bit too cocky again. Rob Belote: I'd have to agree, he seems to be taking too much time there. Devastation starts to get to his feet, and when Marcus Marion notices it, he moves in and goes to punch him, but Devastation blocks it, then fully raises up to his feet and nails him with a back elbow smash, and then grabs Marion by the arm and sends him into the ropes with an irish whip. On the return, Devastation takes him down with a huge shoulder block. Marcus Marion gets back up to his feet, but he's immediately grabbed and taken down to the mat with a huge overhead belly to back suplex. Marcus Marion gets back to his feet, and he's immediately sent back down the mat with a clothesline. Marion gets back to his feet, and he's taken down this time by an even bigger clothesline. Almost instinctively, Marcus Marion gets back up again, only this time he drops back down to his knees and starts to beg off, trying to convince Devastation to not continue in on the attack, but as Devastation moves in closer, Marion drops down to the mat and rolls under the bottom rope outside the ring. Joey C: A good strategy by Marcus Marion to control the pace of this match, exiting to the outside to slow things down and let him regain control of things. Mark Perletta: A bit of a cowardly move, if you ask me, but I guess you could attribute him exiting the ring to strategy. Rob Belote: I think one thing's for sure, if Marcus Marion had stayed in that ring, Devastation would have kept in on the attack, and that puts him one step closer to the Decapitator, and once he hits that move, the match is typically over. After walking around outside the ring for about thirty second, Marcus Marion rolls back into the ring underneath the bottom rope, but when Devastation sees him come in, he moves over to stay in on the offensive, so Marion quickly rolls back out of the ring and starts walking again. Walking around to the opposite side of the ring, eyeing Devastation the entire way, Marcus Marion then walks up the steel ring steps and gets on to the apron. When Devastation approaches, Marcus tells the referee to keep him back, and when the referee finally gets Devastation to stand back, Marcus Marion gets back into the ring. As Marcus Marion goes to meet Devastation in the middle of the ring, the champ goes to lock up, but to avoid another entanglement, Marcus kicks him in the gut. After two hard right hands, Marion picks him up and puts him right back down with an inverted atomic drop. After kicking the same knee he has been working over all match, Marion grabs Devastation, lifts him up and hits a kneebreaker. Not letting go, Marion then lefts Devastation up a second time and hits a second knee breaker. Devastation fires back with a forearm shot, but after being rocked back, Marion dives in and takes Devastation out at the leg with a chopblock to the same leg. Mark Perletta: A nice strategy continually applied by Marcus Marion in this match. Joey C: Devastation was almost limping before, and he probably will be now. Rob Belote: He was definitely favoring that leg before, and you'd have to think those knee breakers hit their mark. After stomping down on Devastation's knee a few times, Marcus Marion grabs Dev's legs and crosses them over, setting up for a Texas Cloverleaf, but as he leans in, Devastation sits up, grabs Marcus around the head, and then rolls backwards, putting him into a small package roll-up. The referee, expecting to have to look for a submission, wasn't in the best of positions to make the count, but he quickly sprints over, slides in, and makes the count. ONE!! TWO!!!! NO!!! Kickout by Marcus Marion, and both men work their way to their feet. Marcus Marion goes for a punch but Devastation blocks it and pulls Marion right in to a knee-lift. Then another knee lift, and with Marcus doubled over, Devastation grabs both of his opponent's elbows, locks him into a double underhook, then he lifts him up and throws him backwards into a double underhook suplex. Both men get back to their feet, Marcus Marion slowed by the suplex, Devastation by his knee, Marcus Marion tries to kick Devastation, but Devastation grabs him by the leg and sends him flying over with a dragon screw legwhip. Pulling Marion back up to his feet by the leg, Devastation doesn't let go and instead hits a second dragon screw legwhip. Still not letting go, Devastation stands up, then twists and locks Marion into a standing ankle lock. Marion fights hard to get out of the hold, and just as he gets up onto his hands, Devastation sees that the move might be broken, so he drops down to the mat, grapevining Marcus' leg, pulling Marion down to the mat with him. Marcus Marion struggles to break free of the hold, but to no avail, Devastation's legs are wrapped around too tight to pry him away. Instead, Marion starts using his hands to pull himself towards the ropes, and after trying for about twenty seconds, Marion's out-stretched hand finally reaches the ropes, so the referee is forced to have Devastation break the hold. Mark Perletta: Marcus Marion buys himself at least a little more time here as he gets to the ropes and forces Devastation to break that hold, and I think he's lucky to get to the ropes that quickly, because had it taken any longer, I think he would've tapped out. Rob Belote: It does seem like it's getting really close to the end of the match, doesn't it? As both men get back to their feet, Devastation grabs Marion by the arm and attempts an irish whip, but as he does, Marcus Marion sends himself crashing into the injured leg of Devastation, sending both men down to the mat yet again. As both men work to get back to their feet this time, Marcus Marion gets to his feet muc more quickly than Devastation does, who is having trouble with his knee. Marion takes advantage of this and starts stomping on Devastation's knee, sending him back down to the mat. Taking the champion by the arm, Marion picks him up to his feet and irish whips him chest first into the corner. Staying in on the attack, Marion grabs Devastation from behind and sets him up onto the top rope, then he climbs up after him. Once getting to the second rope, Marion grabs Devastation around the waist, climbs to the top rope and pulls as hard as he can, sending himself and Devastation backwards in a top rope German release suplex. Mark Perletta: What a move by Marcus Marion, pulling out all the stops in this, his first shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Joey C: I think he's got him, Marky!! COVER HIM, MARCUS!! Marcus Marion sits up, dazed by having just come crashing down off of the top rope, and then he turns and covers Devastation, and the referee steps in and makes the count. ONE! TWO! THR... NO!!!! Devastation shoulders out, and Marcus Marion can't believe it. Marion crawls over to the ropes and uses them to help him get back to his feet. He then tracks down the referee, who just signalled "2" to the time keeper, and Marion loses it. Marion starts yelling at the referee, unable to believe that it was only a two count. Meanwhile Devastation struggles to get back to his feet, and the fans are cheering him on, stomping their feet in encouragement. Just before Devastation can get back to a full vertical base, however, Marion sees him almost up and walks over to continue on the offense... but Devastation nails him with a huge hooking shot to the ribs. Then one with the other hand. From there, Devastation grabs a doubled over Marion by the head, uses him for balance, gets back to his feet, and then PLANTS Marion into the mat with a snap DDT, and the fans go ballistic as Devastation is back in the match. Mark Perletta: Listen to these fans!! It's absolutely electric in here!! Rob Belote: This is the type of thing they can come to expect from a LEGACY show, Marky. Picking Marcus Marion back up to his feet, Devastation nails him with a forearm shot. Not done by any means, Devastation then rocks him with a back elbow to the face. Both men stand dazed, Marion holding his face, and as Marion goes for a big right hand, Devastation blocks it, steps underneath Marion's arm, hooks him around the head and lifts him straight up into the air... and holds him there... the fans start cheering as Devastation continues to hold Marion up... and then he drops him straight down into a brainbuster suplex, and the fans go crazy. Joey C: Damn it, I can't believe this!! Marcus Marion was doing so well, and now he's just struggling to hold on!! Mark Perletta: I think that stalling brainbuster spells the beginning of the end there for Marcus Marion. Rob Belote: This one does seem to be about over, and as the owner of this organization, I feel like I should be there to raise the hand of my new champion. Mark Perletta: The camera still on the action in the ring, Rob Belote just took his headset off and he's not walking over to the entrance ramp, headed towards the ring, and it looks like he's going to congratulate Devastation on a well fought match and raise his hand as Belote's "new champion" as he just stated, as Devastation christens the new LEGACY World Heavyweight Championship belt. Devastation lifts Marion up to his feet and then sends him into the ropes with an irish whip, and on the return he takes him down with an Arn Anderson spinebuster. Devastation then stands up and he hears the fans cheering, so he walks over to one of the sides of the ring and looks out over them, nodding out among them, and then he takes two steps back and signals that the end is near as he lets them know he's about to go for the Decapitator. The champion's gaze is then averted from the fans to the entrance ramp as he sees Rob Belote walking down the ramp. As they lock eyes, Rob Belote starts clapping for him and then starts saying something. Unable to hear, Devastation moves over to the side of the ring closest to the entrance ramp and waits, and then he realizes that Rob Belote is saying something to the referee. With the referee distracted along with Devastation, neither of the two of them realize as Marcus Marion crawls over, getting right behind Devastation, and NAILS him with a low blow, followed by a second low blow that catches the fan's attentions, and the booing pours out. Mark Perletta: Wait just a minute... Marcus Marion using the distraction to hit a low blow, and no one seems to have noticed it except for the fans, and while I can understand that the referee didn't see it, I can't believe that Rob Belote didn't react to it. Joey C: Nope, Rob Belote just continues on his way over to the time keeper's table, and he looks oblivious to what just happened in the ring. Mark Perletta: Well you have to wonder, he's the one that was talking to the referee, he gained the ref's attention, he gained Devastation's attention, both of which allowed Marion to do that... Joey C: Don't EVEN start with conspiracy theories! Devastation didn't HAVE to pay any attention to Rob Belote, nor did the ref! Getting to his feet, Marcus Marion grabs Devastation by the head, pulls him backwards into a reverse DDT position, then he jumps backwards and lays out flat, nailing Devastation with a lay-out reverse DDT drop! The booing from the fans picks up, but that doesn't discourage Marion, who gets one knee underneath himself for support, then puts his other foot on the mat, then picks himself up to his feet. From there, Marion grabs Devastation and helps get him up to his feet, and not wasting any time, Marion scoops Devastation up, sets him into a tombstone position, and then jumps and drives Devastation's head into the mat with the jumping piledriver and IMMEDIATELY Marion drops down, hooks BOTH of Devastation's legs and goes for the cover, even pulling a little bit of tights for leverage. The referee in position, he makes the count... ONE!!! TWO!!! THREE!!! Mark Perletta: I can't believe this... Joey C: I can't believe this is really happening!!! The referee stands up and frustratedly calls for the bell, and immediately the fans go out of control, booing as loud as they can, creating a near deafening sound in the arena. Instead of the time keeper bringing the referee the belt, Rob Belote takes the LEGACY World Heavyweight Championship belt from the time keeper's table and walks over, gets up onto the apron, and then enters the ring. With Marion now standing in the center of the ring, Rob Belote hands him the championship belt and then hoists his hand into the air, getting an even bigger reaction from the fans. With that, Marcus Marion looks down at Devastation and laughs, then exits the ring and heads back up the ramp. Rob, on the other hand, walks over to the corner of the ring and asks the ring announcer for a microphone. Mark Perletta: What... what's going on here? Joey C: Rob Belote is probably just going to congratulate Devastation on a great World Heavyweight Title reign, that's all. With the mic in hand, Rob Belote steps back into the corner and waits and watches as Devastation slowly gets back to his feet. Devastation doesn't apparently even notice Belote, and he walks over and heads out of the ring, but before he can start ascending the entrance ramp, Rob Belote holds up the microphone. Rob Belote: Hey, David, wait just a second there, I've got something to say. Guys in the production truck, do me a favor, cut the announcer's mics, I want everyone to hear what I have to say completely uninterrupted. Devastation stops moving and turns to see Rob Belote standing in the center of the ring.
AFTERMATH
Rob Belote: For the better part of the last year, you held the TTW World Heavyweight Championship, and that's something you should be proud of. That's something that the fans are probably proud of. You're one of the best technical wrestlers in this business, an accolade you seems to hold very dear to your heart, and while that's great and all, it's just... it's just not enough. The fans seem a bit confused, and they quiet down considerably. Rob Belote: Being a really good technical wrestler, it's fine if you want to be in the Olympics. It's fine if you're a 20 year old college student who is competing against other college students for the NCAA championships. It's fine if you're a 17 year old trying to win the state high school wrestling championship. But it just doesn't cut it if you want to be a part of LEGACY Wrestling. LEGACY Wrestling is about more than just competing, it's about entertaining, too. It's about making the fans care about you, making them care about the product. It's about having personality, and Devastation, in case you hadn't realized it, you just DON'T HAVE ANY PERSONALITY!!! Some of the fans start to boo, and Devastation looks completely confused and angered by what Rob is saying in the ring. Rob Belote: Now before the rumors start up, before the dirt sheets start getting filled with negativity towards me, let me just clear something up right here and now: What happened here tonight, it happened for a reason. There was NO CHANCE that I was going to let Devastation walk out of this ring here tonight with that belt, but it has NOTHING to do with playing favorites towards Marcus Marion. Had he not been attacked by a yet unknown assailant, it would've been Greyson Blade who would've ended up with the LEGACY World Championship tonight, and I would've seen to it. And yeah, Greyson Blade would've tried to give the belt back to Devastation. He would've wanted to refuse to take the belt, something I really don't think Marcus Marion is going to do, but you see, it wouldn't matter anyways. Rob walks closer to the ropes so he can look down into Devastation's eyes. Rob Belote: There's no way you're getting that belt back, Devastation, because even if Marcus Marion decides he'd like to give it back to you or give you a rematch, that ain't going to happen, because YOU DON'T WORK HERE ANYMORE!!! I don't give title shots to guys who don't work in my company, so unless you find yourself with some personality, with some SPARK a few months down the line, tonight was the last time you'll EVER hold that belt, David. EVER. You got too comfortable holding that TTW World Title, you slacked off, and you got by on the fact that you had a reduced schedule and lackluster opponents like Damien Black. And when you did put in the effort, it was like I was watching Rocky IV with the whole "I'm a Machine. I will put you down for the count" routine. The fans start booing, obviously siding with Devastation on all of this. Rob Belote: So go on, get out of here, and take that punk protege Logan Caine with you. You're both fired! Hell, you should be THANKING me, because not even a week ago I let another organization hype you up on one of their shows, something that I told you was because of an inter-promotional match I was trying to set up. Now, guess what? It's not interpromotional if you end up with a match against someone on their roster, because as of right now, you're a free agent! We don't want you, and we certainly don't want Logan Caine, so you can tell him to stop playing the market and sign somewhere else, because there isn't a spot for you or him here in LEGACY Championship Wrestling. Rob Belote signals to the back and five security guards come walking out and meet Devastation at the bottom of the ramp, and they escort him back up the ramp, and the booing from the fans picks back up. Rob Belote: Hate me if you want, but you'll have to get all of that hate out right here, right now, because this is the last you're going to see me for a while. What I did here tonight, this wasn't to get you all to hate me, though I do realize that most of you do because of it. What I did here tonight was for the betterment of LEGACY Championship Wrestling, what I did here tonight was to get rid of dead-weight. What I did here tonight was to ensure that the man with the LEGACY World Heavyweight Title was someone deserving of being our champion... deserving of being YOUR champion... and in time, you'll understand that. Rob Belote walks over and tosses the microphone to the people at the time keeper's table and he heads out of the ring, Devastation already at the top of the ramp, and without another word from anyone, the scene fades to black prior to the LEGACY logo and copywrite information showing up on the screen.
