You can’t get any closer than an overtime win and a shootout win! Both games came down to the wire in Week 2, starting with the Leesburg 58’s OT win against the Blues Brothers. Down 1-0, late in the second half, Matt Kelch scored the equalizer for the 58’s. Pete Grigelis would then go on to score the game winner for the 58’s in overtime! The final score was 58’s: 2, Blues Bros: 1. In the second game, the Benders battled back from a 3-1 deficit against Fade To Black. Brian Kurutz scored a pair of goals, in the final minutes of the game, sending the contest to OT. After the scoreless extra period, it was captain James Zembriski, scoring the only goal in the shootout and giving the Benders the 4-3 victory!
