We had two great games on our opening night of the 2021 Fall Season! First up was an exciting matchup between the Benders and the Leesburg 58’s. The Benders took a 3-1 lead into the second half, with goals from Shahbaz Ahmed (2) and Chris Mussig. With only minutes left in the game, the 58’s battled back to tie up the score, sending the game to OT. No one scored in the extra period, but the Benders pulled out the win in the shootout! Brian Crooks scored the game-winning, shootout goal! The second game was also tight through the first half, as the Blues Brothers and Fade To Black each scored 2 goals. Fade To Black would break the tie in the second half, with goals from Alex Valvis and Alex Cole. The final score was Fade To Black: 4, Blues Bros: 2.
